External table ddl contains owbunuseX in the field list

Hi, we defined a external table in design center OWB11.1, and we defined columns like 'field1, field2... field50', but when it was generated, we found owbunused0, owbunuse1...in the field list of access parameters. why the field name is not same as the column name in the external table? Thanks.

Hi Gary
Ok, now I see. For an external table right click on it within designer tree and hit the Synchronize option, you will then get a dialog for synchronizing and when you regenerate you should be good to go.
Like other objects External Table may be bound to another object, the File (in this case). So you can synchronize the external table if you change the file (in the same way with mapping, when you change a table you can synchronize the table in and out of the mapping).

    Hi
Is it possible  to create   internal table as Container Variable in the alert category. If it is possible how can we pass the data to this internal table in the Run time to the funtion module SALRT_CREATE_API.I have tried this to pass the data to the container parameter
it_container ,but i was unable to achive it .If anyone has come across this please guide me .

You can use the Forms "From Clause Query" as the datasource for the data block. Then you can change the QUERY_DATA_SOURCE_NAME using set_block_property, so you can use any SQL statement you like. Of course you must name/alias the columns in a consistent manner so that the number of database items on the block matches those being queried.

  • Field ZZBUDAT is delta-relevant, but does not exist in the field list

    Hi All,
I have created a Generic DataSource on a View. Now there is a situation ,i need to add a Date field form some other table.
So i have enhanced the datasource now that date is coming in my datasource.
But when i tried to make delta on that date field its showing error-
Field ZZBUDAT is delta-relevant, but does not exist in the field list
    Message no. R8279
    Diagnosis
The DataSource uses field ZZBUDAT for specifying the delta. In the DataSource field list, however, the field does not occur
Now how i can make this field dalta relevant?
    Thanks,
    Piyush

    Piyush,
I think the message in SAP is quite clear....
If the field ZZBUDAT does not exist in the view ... how do you expect the datasource to know which records have changed...?
The delta relevant field SHOULD be in the view - else there is no way the extractor can identify the changed records ...
Please remember that the Generic extractor is a simple select statement with a where clause on the delta relevant field and nothing else ... if you want the changed on field to come from another table - then you need to write a function module extractor to do this...
The order of processing is that - the view fields are processed first - then the enhanced fields are processed followed by the user exits...

For example if my table name is 'ABC' a new report will be created for table at run time '/1BCDWB/DB/ABC'.
I also need to have table names, which stored the values when a layout is changed
For example if I have ten fields in my table, first time ill choose 5 fields, second time ill change the layout and choose 10 fields and ill save the layout.
If any Function modules are there please let me know
Please let me know, if anyone has details.

  • Looking for a table which contains Datasource and the name of DSO

    Hello,
I need to extract a list with the datasource + Name System + DSO. If anyone know a BW table.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Santos.

    Hi Santos,
Please check the table "RSTRAN" -- directory of transformations in your system.
If you have between data loading between DS and DSO, then you should have active data transformations.
In this table, select type of source as data source and type target as DSO and execute.
You will get list of DS and DSO which has active transformations.
If you want details about each DS and DSO then you can check the below tables

  • No boolean in the fields lists

When I create a new database. There's no field name for boolean. or bool. I didn't see an option for making one or more fields as a true or false statement. and I wanted to see if some one had an idea about how to get some thing like this to work.
Lets say I have a field called "IsPrivate". I need to be able to save this as a bool in the database.

?, Ok that makes some sense. Can I set them as I need them. Like if I wanted to could I do some thing like.
    bool IsPrivate = true;
If I did some thing like that. Would that still work. Lets say I wanted to save "true" to the bit field. Would that still work or can you give me a sample code in c# on this.

  • Modifying field lenght for an  external table via OWB

    Hi folks,
After, I would like to thanks everyone that helps to improve the level of quality of this forum with questions and answers!
I am having a problem with flat files and external tables:
I can't specify the field length in the ORACLE_LOADER parameters via OWB, so the driver consider that all my fields are CHAR(255). Concerning the online documentation for Oracle Utilities Part. no. A96652-01 on page 12-21, it's write that the lack of specification about the datatype or length of a field, the driver will assume the fields name and order of the fields defined on the external table fields and they will be CHAR(255). My problem is that we need to use a field bigger than CHAR(255), so I made this external table for example about our problem:
    CREATE TABLE "TESTE"
    "NOME" VARCHAR2(300),
    "SOBRENOME" VARCHAR2(300))
    ORGANIZATION EXTERNAL (
    TYPE ORACLE_LOADER
    DEFAULT DIRECTORY TARGET_LOC_SRC_FILES_LOC
    ACCESS PARAMETERS (
    RECORDS DELIMITED BY NEWLINE
    CHARACTERSET WE8MSWIN1252
    STRING SIZES ARE IN BYTES
    NOBADFILE
    NODISCARDFILE
    NOLOGFILE
    FIELDS
    TERMINATED BY ';'
    NOTRIM
    "NOME" ,
    "SOBRENOME"
    ) LOCATION (
    TARGET_LOC_SRC_FILES_LOC:'Partners.txt'
    REJECT LIMIT UNLIMITED
    NOPARALLEL
When we put by hand the field length in this script, it works fine!
Is there a way to put the length of the fields in the FIELDS clause of the SQL*Loader control file using OWB?

    Carlos,
    Have you tried the following:
    - Update the data types in the sampled flat file (i.e. go into the field definitions and edit the length).
    - Go into the mapping and inbound reconcile the table (right-mouse click the file operator and select inbound reconcile).
    - Regenerate, and review the result.
    Thanks,
    Mark.

  • External tables-Fixed length file

    Hi All,
I have a fixed length file that i load daily using an External table. Recently, one of the field, IP length was changed and customer wants to send both old records with 8 byte length and new records with 11 byte length in the same data file, until complete migration takes place.
Will it be possible for External tables to handle this requirement?. Or Is there any other possibility to treat it.
The old file contains 104 fields with IP field position form 490 to 498. Total
The new file contains 104 fields with the IP position from 490 to 501.
    Thanks,
    Sri.

If the two record types are mixed in the same file, then you will have problems loading them. I can see two possible solutions, in no particular order of preference (using your example data):
    1. Redefine the external table something like:
    Position (record_type (1:1)
              version     (2:5)
data        (6:41))then parse the remaining fields based on the version number when you select from the external table.
    2. Create two external tables over the same file, one for version 1.00 and one for version 1.01 using the LOAD WHEN clause to determine which set of data to load when you select. Something like:
    CREATE TABLE version1 ...
    ORGANIZATION EXTERNAL ...
    ACCESS PARAMETERS
    (RECORDS DELIMITED BY newline
      LOAD WHEN (version = 1.00)
< definition for the old format >
    and
    CREATE TABLE version101 ...
    ORGANIZATION EXTERNAL ...
    ACCESS PARAMETERS
    (RECORDS DELIMITED BY newline
      LOAD WHEN (version = 1.01)
< definition for the new format >Then yor processing would use something like:
    SELECT ip, last_name
    FROM version1
    UNION ALL
    SELECT ip, last_name
    FROM version101HTH

  • DATE fields and LOG files  in context with external tables

I am facing two problems when dealing with the external tables feature in Oracle 9i.
I created an External Table with some fileds with the DATE data type . There were no issues during the creation part. But when i query the table, the DATE fields are not properly selected though the data is there in the files. Is there any ideas to deal with this ?
My next question is regarding the log files. The contents in the log file seems to be growing when querying the external tables. Is there a way to control this behaviour?
Suggestions / Advices on the above two issues are welcome.
    Thanks
    Lakshminarayanan

    Hi
If you have date datatypes than:
    select
    greatest(TABCASER1.CASERRECIEVEDDATE, EVCASERS.FINALEVDATES, EVCASERS.PUBLICATIONDATE, EVCASERS.PUBLICATIONDATE, TABCASER.COMPAREACCEPDATE)
    from TABCASER, TABCASER1, EVCASERS
where ...-- join and other conditions
    1. greatest is good enough
    2. to_date creates date dataype from string with the format of format string ('mm/dd/yyyy')
    3. decode(a, b, c, d) is a function: if a = b than return c else d. NULL means that there is no data in the cell of the table.
    6. to format the date for display use to_char function with format modell as in the to_date function.

  • How can I get the Tables in my report to update their field lists?

I am working with Crystal Reports 2008, and I have a ReportDocument loaded in a .NET project.
I want to update the field lists of the tables (stored procedures) used in the report.  I am calling "VerifyDatabase()", but this does not update the field lists.  Through the designer, I accomplish this by going to the Database -> Set Datasource Location..., then clicking on the stored procedure (i.e. table) in the report, clicking on the stored procedure under the database in the bottom pane, and then clicking "Update".
How can I accomplish this in code?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hello,
You have to use RAS and the replace connection method. The Report Engine does not have the ability.
Search forums for "ReplaceConnection_Click" and you'll find sample code that should work for you.
    Thank you

  • How to make the fields of the table mandatory while creating new entries..?

    Hi,
I have created a new Z table which has 6 fields. All the 6 fields are KEY fields and all are of CHAR type. I have generated the table maintenance generator for the same. My requirement is all the fields should be MANDATORY while creating the entries. No field should be BLANK.
When creating the new entries in the table, even if I don't give any values to some of the fields, it is saving the entry. But, it shouldn't happen like that. If any of the field is kept blank, it should not allow the user to save the entry. Can someone tell me how to approach this. Will there be any settings while creating the table which takes care of this.
I read somewhere that this can be done using the Table EVENTS. Can someone tell me what is the code that we should write there in the Events which prevents the user from saving the blank fields. While writing the logic in the events, how to check whether the particular field is BLANK or not. Will the values be stored in any internal table kind of thing..?
My table name is ZCRF_TAB and the fields are FLD!, FLD2, FLD3, FLD4, FLD5 & FLD6. Can someone provide me sample code for my requirement. Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Paddu.

Hi,I think u have generated Table Maintainance Generator, goto Environment->Modifications->Events
Select appropriate option by using F4,I think value 05 is appropriate for u r requirement.Enter From routine name.Dbl click on the routine.
    Write the appropriate code like:
    If ZTABLE-FIELD1 is initial.

  • How to drop external table together with the linked file

    Hi,
I am running 10g and using the external table feature to move data between two databases. Now the procedure I am using has to make sure, that on the target db the external tables created on the previous run are not existing.
As far I know the statement
DROP TABLE <EXTERNAL TABLE NAME>; does not remove the file.
    How to achieve the goal?
    Thanks!

Can you use the UTL_FILE.FRemove function to delete the underlying file? That seems like the simplest solution. Assuming, of course, that you have the appropriate privileges to do so.
    Justin
Of course, I'd generally question why you're using external tables and flat files to move data between databases rather than database links, but I assume you have valid reasons for that...
