External Table LKM: error during task interpretation
I've had this problem more than once now, using "LKM File to Oracle (EXTERNAL TABLE)". Before the interface can even run, I get an error, as if the script can't be output. I've tried removing the LKM and reimporting. No use. I am using this LKM successfully in other projects... not sure why it would have issues here. When I had this problem previously, Oracle Support couldn't reproduce it (they certainly tried). I managed to work around it then, but now... this is getting problematic. Insight welcome.
Here's the start of the error:

Hi,
Can some one provide a resolution for below error:
I have created an interface which load data from csv file which has 320 columns, to a Synonym which has 320 columns in it
using LKM File to SQL, IKM Sql Control Append.
I am getting below error when executing the interface :

I saw your issue and found one think that "String index out of range", can you please compare the columns datatype and column size with target table and ODI table.
ODI Table:
After Reverse Engine, CSV changed into table format can you please open the table from designer>model>csv table and goto columns tab, it will list out the all column name datatype and size. compare the column size and type with your target table.
hope this will resolve your issue.

Thanks for any lightDear Expert
Still facing this problem.
I did several tests, changing flexfields in physical topology and the parameters of RKM.
But the result is always the same.
What else could do.
The doubt remains.
Should be poss edit details.

I can not enter values in JDBC because the JDBC option is not active.
Any light, suggestion or critics is welcome.
Also I have a SR open with serveridade 1 in orcl.

DATE_M "TO_DATE(:DATE_M,'dd.mm.yyyy')",Not sure if that will work for external tables or not. -

Hi.
10g R2, Red Hat Linux
I'm using the article (see below, taken from http://www.dbazine.com/olc/olc-articles/scardina1 by Mark Scardina) to create an external table where I'd store my XML file.
So, I
1. Created a directory xmlfile_dir
2. Granted access to needed db user
3. Created the table
CREATE TABLE relayxml_xt (doc CLOB)
ORGANIZATION EXTERNAL
TYPE ORACLE_LOADER
DEFAULT DIRECTORY xmlfile_dir
ACCESS PARAMETERS
FIELDS (lobfn CHAR TERMINATED BY ',')
COLUMN TRANSFORMS (doc FROM lobfile (lobfn))
LOCATION ('xml.dat')
REJECT LIMIT UNLIMITED;
4. mv relay.xml /xmlfile_dir/xml.dat
When I run SELECT * FROM relayxml_xt I get this:
Error starting at line 1 in command:
select * from relayxml_xt
Error report:
SQL Error: ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEOPEN callout

What am I doing wrong?

Using External Tables
Introduced in Oracle9i, Oracle’s external table feature offers a solution to define a table in the database while leaving the data stored outside of the database. Prior to Oracle Database 10g, external tables can be used only as read-only tables. In other words, if you create an external table for XML files, these files can be queries and the table can be joined with other tables. However, no DML operations, such as INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE, are allowed on the external tables.
Note: In Oracle Database 10g , by using the ORACLE_DATAPUMP driver instead of the default ORACLE_DRIVER, you can write to external tables. In Oracle Database 10g, you can define VARCHAR2 and CLOB columns in external tables to store XML documents. The following example shows how you can create an external table with a CLOB column to store the XML documents. First, you need to create a DIRECTORY to read the data files:
CREATE DIRECTORY data_file_dir AS 'D:\xmlbook\Examples\Chapter9\src\xml';
GRANT READ, WRITE ON DIRECTORY data_file_dir TO demo;
Then, you can use this DIRECTORY to define an external table:
CREATE TABLE customer_xt (doc CLOB)
ORGANIZATION EXTERNAL
TYPE ORACLE_LOADER
DEFAULT DIRECTORY data_file_dir
ACCESS PARAMETERS
FIELDS (lobfn CHAR TERMINATED BY ',')
COLUMN TRANSFORMS (doc FROM lobfile (lobfn))
LOCATION ('xml.dat')
REJECT LIMIT UNLIMITED;
The xml.dat file follows:
customer1.xml
customer2.xml
If you describe the table, you can see the following definition:
SQL> DESC customer_xt;
Name Null? Type
DOC CLOB
Then, you can query the XML document as follows:
SELECT XMLType(doc).extract('/Customer/EMAIL')
FROM customer_xt;
Though the query requires run-time XMLType creation and XPath evaluation, this approach is useful when applications just need a few queries on the XML data and don’t want to upload the XML data into database. In Oracle Database 10g, you cannot create external tables that contain pre-defined XMLType column types.

any thoughts?
billuI don't think there is any way to modify your table definition to accommodate the (apparent) fact that missing values generate nothing in the file you want to load.
It seems that you are saying that the format of the file is not actually fixed in any way, that is has some, but not all values, and that mising values are just skipped.
Assuming for a moment that the fields are delimited bt a pipe symbol (|) then it seems to me that you have this situation :
Defined file format:
ID|name|age|addresswhich would imply the file should look like:
123|John|42|123 MainSt.
456|Fred|39|45 Pine St.but sometimes you get:
12345|27|12 Elm St.If this is the case, there is no possible way that the file can be reliably parsed since there is no consistnet format. If field values could be missing, you need to get whoever generates the file to do something more like:
12345||27|12 Elm St.That is, put in the field delimiters even if there is no value for the field.

ERROR,08 Dec 2010 21:19:04,555,[XELLERATE.ADAPTERS],Class/Method: tcAdapterMappingUtility/getRunTimeVariable Mappings encounter some problems: No data available for variable having key = 350

java.lang.Exception: No data available for variable having key = 350
Earlier, before adding these attributes, the OID Create User Task was working. So I belive this is from the newly added attributes.
Questions:
- How to identity the attribute with this key? It looks like some of the attribute values that it gets during Run Time is not populated correctly. Any suggestions?
- "key = 350"- Is there a database table that this gets stored? SPD? or anything else?
Regards
Vijay Chinnasamy@Keviin,
I added 13 new attributes and corresponding "* Updated" Tasks.
For all these, ProcessInstanceKey is mapped to Process Data -> Process Instance.
I am going to validate the mappings again. Also, I noticed, some of the fields that I am prepopulating is not populated.

External Table Load KUP-04037 Error
I was asked to repost this here. This was a follow on question to this thread how to load special characters (diacritics) in the Exort/Import/SQL Loader/External Table Forum.
I've defined an external table and on my one instance running the WE8MSWIN1252 character set everything works fine. On my other instance running AL32UTF8 I get the KUP-04037 error, terminator not found on the field that has "à" (the letter a with a grave accent). Changing it to a standard "a" works avoids the error. Changing the column definition in the external table to nvarchar2 does NOT help.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks,
Bob SiegelExactly. If you do not specify the CHARACTERSET parameter, the database character set is used to interpret the input file. As the input file is in WE8MSWIN1252, the ORACLE_LOADER driver gets confused trying to interpret single-byte WE8MSWIN1252 codes as multibyte AL32UTF8 codes.
The character set of the input file depends on the way it was created. Even on US Windows, you can create text files in different encodings. Notepad allows you to save the file in ANSI code page (=WE8MSWIN1252 on US Windows), Unicode (=AL16UTF16LE), Unicode big endian (=AL16UTF16), and UTF-8 (=AL32UTF8). The Command Prompt edit.exe editor saves the files in the OEM code page (=US8PC437 on US Windows).

ME 808: System error: error during update Table EKAB
Hi,
Couple of years ago, during carve out, one of the contracts was deleted.
A PO created against that contract carries some open quantities. Now our purchasing wants to close this PO, either by changing the quantity to delivered quantity (delivered quantity is lesser than PO quantity), or by checking the delivery complete box. But they are not able to do so, as there was no contract number exists in the system table.
I propose to create a contract with the same number mentioned in the PO and then to change the quantity in the purchase req and PO. However now the system issues a dump error message "ME 808: System error: error during update Table EKAB".
Can anyone help how to resolve the issue?
Any body had similar situation?
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
ShivaHi,
I am not sure how the external consultants deleted this contract during carve out.
Our division was bought out from another company and moved the data to our SAP system.
I checked the OSS and found note 922427 could resolve the issue.
Thanks for your response.

Ore.connect - ORA-28578: protocol error during callback from an external procedure
Hi,
I am having an issue while connecting my ORE client (Rgui) to my oracle instance:

I did not receive error messages during installation.
ORE version: 1.3.1
Rgui version: 2.15.3
Oracle version: 11.2.0.3.0
Installation:
-SERVER
Installed Open source R
Installed ORE Server
Installed ORE Client Supporting Packages
Created the RQUSER and provided him with the necessary privileges
Modified the extproc.ora file setting EXTPROC_DLLS=ONLY
-CLIENT
Installed Oracle DB Client
Installed Open source R
Installed ORE Client
Installed ORE Client Supporting Packages
Did not find any other clue in previous discussions, just one was pretty similar but it came to no resolution.
