External Viewer!!!

I am trying to view sequences on an external monitor via a mini-dv camera. I am having no problem logging and capturing or editing to tape with the camera, but I am still getting a warning when I start up FCP that there is no external NTSC device connected. This is causing problems when I try to use the camera as an external video source. It is simply saying that the Apple Firewire NTSC device is missing even though it will log and capture and edit to tape using the device. Does anybody know why this wouuld be happening? Thanks!

  • How do I specify an external viewer for animation?

I occasionally receive PDF files that have accompanying animations (.avi, etc) that Adobe acrobat reader 9.4.1 expects to play using an external viewer.
On one of my computers (Linux, KDE), it launches xine.  On another (also Linux, KDE), it launches noatun.
How do I specify which external viewer it should launch?

This is handled through file associations defined in the OS. Adobe Reader is simply passing the file off to the OS.
In your file manager/desktop, find a plain AVI file, right click on it to get the contextual menu. You should be able to set your preferred associated program from there.

  • Which is better External View OR Database procedure Proxy ?

    Hi Pravin,
that depends on your application logic and use case. There is no general recommendation for one or the other.
If, for instance, you have input parameters, you would go for a DB procedure proxy, since the external view does not allow to pass input parameters from the ABAP to the HANA column view.
On the other hand, if you would like to consume the result in an ALV with integrated data access (the "next generation ALV"), you would rather go for an external view... so - like the answer to so many other questions - it depends... .

  • Embed an external view into a tabbed menu

    Hi All,
I'm a beginner in WebDynpro Java.
Could you please help me to embed an external view into a tabbed menu in WebDynpro Java?
    Please help with your solutions.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Sari

    hi sari,
Inside tabbed menu you can't use external view.
For your problem you can do .
         1. copy your external view ui element from root elements..
         2. paste into seprate tabs.
    Another Solution
         1. Inside window controller you can create view set in two division..
         2. First Devision for your navigation menu .
         3. Second Devision For your External views
    Thanks & Best Regards

  • How to create external view?

I want to create external view in master view or query view of master to detail group.
Could you healp me answer over and upload question, please.

    Edwin,
I am sorry but I'm still not sure whether I understand your question. But the following might help you:
    - you can create a database view in the database and then base a BC4J Entity Object and/or View Object on top of this view
    - You can create a ViewObject where you type in the SQL yourself.
    - You can create ViewLinks to create a master-detail relation between any two ViewObjects.
    - You can
See the BC4J online help in JDev for more information. (For example the topic "About Polymorphic RowSets")
You also might want to read the following article on Steve Muench Weblog: http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2003/02/06/constructingTheDesiredEntityInAPolymorphicViewObject.html

  • External views with HANA as secundary database

    Hi,
internally we have since some time a discussion on whether one can make external views in ABAP when HANA is your secondary database. According to the documentation it is not possible, but apparently the HANA-versions of Financial transactions do use them. These transactions are SAP standard transactions. It is difficult to convince our users/developers that this is not possible, when they see it is used in SAP standard ...
We do not get any clear answer to this problem. Also not from our consultants. The only remaining possibility seems to sketch a possible solution and ask you all some questions and make some statements to see if I am right.
I think this little sketch shows the landscape you need to make all this possible:
One cannot create an external view in Ecipse (ABAP in …) when you have HANA as a secondary database.
External views can only be created using AIE, not in SE11 in the GUI.
When these external views are created – using the described process – these views cannot even be displayed in the AIE when having HANA as a secondary database.
This is the message we get:
If you want to create an external view, you need a ‘landscape’ where HANA is you primary database. This means a supplementary R/3-ABAP and a supplementary HANA database, where all necessary tables do exist.
You have to develop you HANA artefacts (attribute views, analytical views, calculation views, …) in this separate landscape.
If you want to call them using external views, you have to do your developments here!
Based on these views you create external views in the AIE on this separate landscape. This way they exist in the ABAP dictionary in this system.
The name of the HANA-artefact and the external view in the ABAP dictionary have to be identical.
You copy the HANA artefacts to you first HANA (where you use it as secondary database). Copy, transport, … whatever.
You copy/transport your external view to your first ABAP dictionary.
Now you can use it in a SELECT with CONNECTION(“to_2ndary_hana”).
Is this correct? Or do I still miss something?
    Thanks for any reaction.
    Regard.
    Kris

    Hi Kris,
except for "The name of the HANA-artefact and the external view in the ABAP dictionary have to be identical" all you points above are valid.
Let me say a couple of words about the external views, especially those delivered by SAP.
Assume you have a development system landscape like DEH (development system with HANA as primary DB), DEO (development system with another DB), QCS (quality system, doesn't matter which DB but receiving the consolidated transports of DEH and DEO), PDS (productive system with non-HANA as primary DB and a secondary DB connection to HANA).
In this heterogeneous landscape you can create HANA content in DEH (respectively in the HANA underlying DEH) and external views via the ABAP Development Tools. You can transport the HANA content (e.g. via the HANA Transport Container) as well as the external views (and database procedure proxies) to the QCS system. The dictionary content, i.e. external views and database procedure proxies are active - otherwise the import/activation will fail - but you cannot consume them. Consumption of external views in the QCS system will lead to runtime exceptions as the underlying HANA artefacts are not accessible. However, since all the dictionary content exists, i.e. external views, database procedures, and the HANA transport container and all of them are active, you can further transport them to the productive system PDS. Once the external view is available in PDS and the HANA artefacts are available in the "side-car HANA" (assuming for simplicity you just use the connection to the DEH HANA), you can consume the external view respectively the underlying HANA view via OpenSQL in conjunction with the CONNECTION statement.
The described procedure explains how SAP has been able to deliver external views. In our system landscape, we have development systems on HANA as well as systems using non-HANA as primary database - how exactly depends on the product etc. So once the colleagues developed their HANA views and created the external views on such a development system on HANA, we can deliver external views. You can consume these external views:
in a system using HANA as primary database (assuming of course you have also received the correct HANA content and everything has been activated properly)
in a system using HANA as secondary database and using the CONNECTION statement in Open SQL
In scenario 1. you are able to create external views yourself via the ABAP Development Tools, while in the second scenario you can neither view nor maintain the external view.
For database procedure proxies, there is a method to create the DB procedure proxies programatically (see http://scn.sap.com/thread/3498161).
    Hope this clarifies your questions,
    Cheers,
      Jasmin

  • CAR 2.0 external view /POSDW/V_MAT

    Hello,
our car 2.0 system (client 100) doesn't display in se11 any entries for ABAP external view /POSDW/V_MAT. The external view is already active. The client for the data in the HANA are different from the client 100 of our car system. Is there any option to display the results of any clients?
    Thank you!

    Hi Amol,
this is the used CalculationView (delivered by SAP):
The cross client propery is alredy set in the view:
The following ABAP external view is defined by SAP standard an use the caluclation view.
I think the problem is, that the call from NetWeaver is restricted by the actual login-client. Is there any option do disable this function?
Another idea is the following: I make a ZCOPY of the calculation view (without client) and use for the external view /POSDW/V_MAT the ZCOPY. I tested this, it's already works. But I think it's not a good workaround.
    Thanks!

  • No external view

just fixed my os and reinstalled fcp but now i dont have external view capabilities at all. the only selection is none but the all frames/single frames option is there.
also, it seems i cannot install anything off disc anymore. i needed to reinstall live type and when i double click the package it does it's explode thing but nothing happens afterwards.
    any ideas/suggesteions?

    #8 External Monitor Viewing.
    Shane's Stock Answer #8:
A simple path is mac > firewire > camera or deck > rca cables > tv
Then start up your camera and tv, then open fcp.
Then go View > External video > all frames
Video playback should be Apple firewire NTSC (If you are using an NTSC set)
Audio playback should be Audio follows Video
Techinially, this should send synched video to your TV
If for some reason you can't view your timeline on your external monitor, there are a few things to try:
    1) Make sure that the camera/deck is connected and powered on BEFORE you open FCP.
    2) In the Final Cut Pro menu select AUDIO/VIDEO Preferences and make sure your signal is being sent out thru Firewire DV.
    3) Go to the menu and select VIEW>EXTERNAL>ALL FRAMES.
    4) Click in the % box above the image and select FIT TO WINDOW.
    5) Go to VIEW->refresh A/V devices
    6) Make sure the Log & Capture window is closed
If you want it to play in both the canvas and the external monitor you need to go to the FINAL CUT PRO menu and select AUDIO/VIDIO settings and make sure MIRROR ON DESKTOP is selected under the PLAYBACK OUTPUT section

  • How do I set up internal and external views in DNS

Setting up a test SNL10.6.8 server behind airport extreme.
Standalone server to run public DNS, iCal, Contacts and Web
I would like to include multiple views in etc/named.conf with statement match-clients{any;}; for public view and match-clients{127.0.0.1/32;10.0.0.0/8;}; for private view.  Server Admin won't let me do this.
    I have two questions.
    1.  Can I effectively secure this setup.
    2. How do I do it?   Do I comment out ' include "etc/dns/publicView.conf.Apple" ' in etc/named.conf and add my own two views or do I use Server Admin to mangae the public view and zones and manually manage the internal zone?
Thank you for your help and advice.

Linux and the BSDs (among other choices) are the full-power, deep-end-of-the-pool roll-your-own solutions. They're excellent choices for a number of application and network services configurations, and for cases with complex or tailored requirements.  The target market is tweakable and easily customized.  Mac doesn't aim there.
Having used and managed BIND on both Mac OS X Server and on other (non-Unix) servers, managing it on Mac OS X Server is simpler, though (as is often the case) you have to manage the server the way Apple expects you to.   The other servers I work with toss you into the BIND configuration files with a text editor, and while that's entirely feasible, it's not what I'd call user-friendly nor simple.  (See first paragraph.)
Running DNS at public servers (such as your ISP) and running a second set of DNS servers on your LAN is easily within reach of the Server Admin tool, and it means you don't have to be delegated, etc., for the public views, and it means your ISP owns securing your external DNS.
If you're accustomed to hand-managing and tweaking your DNS configurations, then Server Admin probably won't do all what you want, if you want to use any of the features of BIND9 past the subset that Server Admin allows you access to.  The question then becomes whether Server Admin does enough of what you need.
Running iCal via VPN is typical and folks that are not on the VPN can use the web interfaces or related, if you're not offering an "open" iCal connection through your firewall.
One other oddity you might want to consider.  Last I checked, BIND9 was also present in client.  Hand-managed.  That might give you a different option here.

  • Launching external viewer per file type

From my Java program I need to launch external viewers per file type. Is there any easy way to do this?
My program may generate various output files (eg. html, txt, pdf ...etc). Once a file is generated, I want to launch corresponding registered viewer on users desktop so user can view the output(eg. for "HTML" registered web browser OR for TXT launch Notepad OR for PDF launch Acrobat etc).
I suspect that this functionality may become OS-dependent but maybe somebody knows a "pure java" way of doing this?
Even if I could do it for Windows only that'd be get me by for the moment. If somebody knows a Window's specific solution even that would help.
    TIA.

Actually after some more searching I stumbled upon this at javaworld.
On Windows one can execute url.dll that interpretes the given file (or URL) argument and launches appropriate viewer.
For example to launch HTML viewer you execute the following command using runtime..
rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler http://www.javaworld.comTo launch notepad you use the following command.
rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler C:\myfile.txtThought it might be useful for anybody else reading this thread...

  • External viewer general error 34

    hi everyone....
i'm hoping someone can help me out. i have a g4 dual 500. i'm running osx 10.3.9 and final cut pro 4.5 hd. i recently replaced my hard drive because it crashed and had to reinstall everything and had software update keep everything current. before the crash, final cut pro worked like a charm. but since i replaced the HD, i can't get FCP to work like it used to.
everything is still setup the way it was before the crash, so i don't understand why it isn't working the way it used to anymore.
i used to be able to view my projects using an external monitor via a firewire media converter/camcorder. now FCP doesn't even recognize my camcorder or media converter. i keep getting a "general error 34" message everytime i try to change my A/V settings.
i've read a lot of posts regarding this topic but everything suggested in the posts, i've tried. i've trashed my preferences, used disk utility to repair the hard drive permissions, i used FCP Rescue for my version of FCP and nothing works. i don't think i have any corrupt media clips because i haven't captured anything.
i would be extremely greatful if someone could suggest something to get my baby back to the way she used to be. am i doing something wrong? please help!!!!
    G4 dual 500   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

thanks david for your rapid responses but no....everything has been updated to the same exact versions before the HD crash. but i did figure out what was causing the issue through apple's FCP support site. it seems that there was an issue with QT. i don't know what because it was the exact same version of QT before the crash. but i did what they told me to do and FCP is working like a charm again! so if anyone else is having the same issue that i was having, i have enclosed the link that solved my problem.

  • No external view on lcd screen

I posted this question prior but not clearly so the answer give kindly to me wasn't the right one.
I dont have the option of using my second lcd screen as a viewing source >view>all frames>desktop main or preview then view>videoplayback>desktop main
I have the view all frames selection available to me but the selection for video playback just has "none". the external selection, desktop main or preview aren't even showing up as a selection only none shows.

as of today, I'm having the same problem with my Samsung SyncMaster 730b. But the difference is : it used to work. And it did work for 9 months. I brought my macmini to a local computer store, and I was able to get it work with a Dell monitor... but the color Red was dominant. I know my monitor is working because I plugged it on my macbook. If you find a solution, let me know. The macmini does however work with the VGA cable (and the Apple adaptor. Have you tried using a VGA cable?

  • ADC DVI HDMI for external viewing of HD footage

    Hi,
I have an HDTV that I want to use as a second monitor but primarily as an HD monitor for external playback from Final Cut. I need to know if this will work before I go and buy all of these cables.
Can I go out of my ADC with a ADC > DVI then go into the TV with DVI to HDMI? Would that work. Can I bypass the DVI and just find an ADC > HDMI cable? I don't even know if there is such a thing.
    Thanks for the help.

I just posted this on another msg board regarding the topic::
Here is the link to the post too:

I just received my cables in the mail today and set everything up.
    This is what I did:
    Dual Mac G5 2.5 w/ ATI x800XT
    DVI -> Apple Cinema Display
ADC -> Belkin ADC to DVI Monitor Adapter -> Gefen DVI to HDMI Cable
    Going to a Samsung 32" LN-S3251D
I did run into some little issues that I am trying to resolve. For some reason this setup did not initially work because my television would not switch to HDMI input. I don't think it was receiving a signal although in my system preferences it detected both displays. So I put the cinema display on the adc to dvi adapater and the LCD TV directly to the DVI output on the ATI card. This worked but tweaking resolutions and messing with the mirror mode wasn't producing what I wanted.
So while the computer and all the displays were still on, I switched the cables back to the original set up. Works perfect. I have 1 inch of black space running vertically to the left and right of my desktop (on the LCD TV). My cinema display looks the same as before. This is on mirror mode.
The thing I can not figure out, is how the **** can I keep this setup without losing the signal to the tv. If i switch to a different input source on the LCD, I can not get back to the HDMI with the computer showing
I am kinda new to this stuff... Any suggestions?

When i go to tzo's site and enter the control panel, what domain ip address should be in there?
Tzo.com  > Control panel > Update ip address
Right now its my WAN IP address which is different from  whatismyipaddress sites WAN is 192 number, sites give me a 76 number.
Other then that, i am stuck, i can only view onsite (192.168.1.142) and not remote like at home (through TZO domain)
    Thanks

DMZ is directed to Camera IP (192.168.1.142)
I used the WAN ip in the tzo domain ip but when it updates, it goes back to the 76 number.
