External Web Service as Legacy System

Hi,
when I use a File -> XI -> JDBC scenario, I have to define into XI (using a particular transaction...) the FTP server from which XI has to consume the XML source files. Now... I have to do the same if I use a web service instead of a File as source message? I have to define in XI the IP of webservice in a particular transaction, for example, as a Legacy System?
Thanks to all!!!

hi,
>>>> I have to do the same if I use a web service instead of a File as source message?
no, as file and web service are two different adapter
file works on pull method )so it check every few minutes if the file exists - if it does it takes it
web service waits for the call from a web service client (it cannot do any pulling)
so you cannot assing any IP of this web service in directory

  • Deliver data to external web service possible in OBIEE 11g?

    Hi all,
    I'm looking into the possibility of "pushing" data from OBIEE and out to an external web service, e.g. through executing a scheduled report that instead of delivering the result on screen, it would call an external web service that would consume the generated data for storage in an external system.
    Does anyone know if this is possible to implement in OBIEE 11g? (So far, all I've found is how to display data in OBIEE through consumation of web service(s), but I'd like to "push out" data to a web service from OBIEE).

  • Need to invoke a external web service

    Hi folks,
    I am new to XI. I need to create a BPM process which has to trigger an external web service. Could any one tell me how can i proceed in this?
    Steps what i have done so far in this regard is ,
    1. consumed a external web service into IR as external definition
    2. created message types similar to this external definition message types.
    3. Created Inbound interface(for external service) and outbound interface from my system.
    4. Created the operation mapping & message mapping between this 2 messages.
    So in the integration directory , i didnt start with the process. So kindly help me in this process.
    Thanks,

  • Error when calling an external web service (blank soap action)

    I did a lot of searching on this message and did not find an answer. Most of the issues i found related to XI/PI, which we are not using.
    There is a web service created outside of SAP for which i generated (from the WSDL) a proxy class in my DEV system, client 050, a few years ago. This was subsequently moved to QA and production, and all is working fine.
    Now, i want the same web service to work in client 100. I created the logical port, and the RFC destination, but when i try to call the web service, i get the following error
    Server did not recognize the value of HTTP Header SOAPAction
    Since only the basis group around here can access the logical port definition,and rfc destination, i have no idea where this information should be set up. I should not have to reimport the WSDL, since the proxy was imported from DEV to QA and it is working in QA client 050. There is something i need to set up, specific to client 100, and i am missing it. I looked in SOAMANAGER, and i didnt see anything even set up  there for client 050, so i did set up anything for client 100.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I tried adding the web reference in a console app and works fine. In the plugins this can't be done, because the plugins are deploy in database.
    I tried another basic test using ChannelFactory. Only want to retrieve some entity through the external web services:
    IPluginExecutionContext context = localContext.PluginExecutionContext;
    IOrganizationService service = localContext.OrganizationService;
    ITracingService tracer = localContext.TracingService;
    try
    BasicHttpBinding binding = new BasicHttpBinding();
    binding.Name = "BasicHttpBinding_IAxxisWcfServices";
    binding.Security.Mode = BasicHttpSecurityMode.None;
    binding.Security.Transport.ProxyCredentialType = HttpProxyCredentialType.None;
    binding.Security.Transport.ClientCredentialType = HttpClientCredentialType.None;
    EndpointAddress endpoint = new EndpointAddress(@"http://*****.svc");
    ChannelFactory<IAxxisWcfServices> factory = new ChannelFactory<IAxxisWcfServices>(binding, endpoint);
    IAxxisWcfServices channel = factory.CreateChannel();
    var entity = channel.FindByEntities(new CRM.Application.Context.Dtos.Asegurado( { CrmGuid = "7C3E96C6-C3BC-E411-80DF-0A736AE14667" }, null, new CRM.Framework.Session() { User = "***", Password = "***" });
    catch (Exception ex)

  • Consuming an External Web Service using HTTPS and WS Security

    Hello everyone,
    I'm having a problem setting the security information in a SOAP header using a generated ABAP Client Proxy to consume an external web service that requires a User ID and Password in the Header section of the SOAP message.  I need to use HTTPS. I'm on a WAS 7.01 SP08 system so from my readings, SAP is supposed to be able to add the username and password into the header section of the message.  I can't seem to get SAP to add this information added to the header.
    Here are the steps that I have taken to set the security values.
    1) Created the client proxy from the WSDL in SE80.  Basic Authentication on the Configuration tab was turned on automatically.
           Note, Transport Security is set to None.  I cannot change it.
    2) Created an outbound set user name profile in transaction WSPROFILE with the appropriate username and password.
    3) Added the profile to the default port in transaction LPCONFIG as an outbound under the WS Security section of the screen.
    When I called the external Web Service, I got back the following error message:
    com.ibm.wsspi.wssecurity.SoapSecurityException: WSEC5509E: A security token whose type is [http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-username-token-profile-1.0#UsernameToken] is required.
    So, after reading through this Forum, I saw that I needed to use the SOAMANAGER.  I set up a Proxy in the SOAMANAGER and manually created the Logical Port.  This was the only way I could figure out how to set the Authentication Settings in the Logical Port to "User ID / Password".  I then entered the User ID and Password.
    However, I am still getting the same error message.  I feel I am close but missing some small configuration to tell SAP to use WS Security with a Username token.
    I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, so any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Stephen

    I had this error again so I thought I would post my solution:
    The issue is SAP needs to know the certificates being used by the web site being called.  These certificates are automatically installed in your browser but need to be manually installed in SAP.  This is what I did:
    How to find/install new certificates
    Make sure you run Internet Explorer as an Administrator so you can export the certificates
    Go to the web site that SAP is trying to call in Internet Explorer
    Double click on the lock in the address bar
    View certificates
    Find the certificates that are being used
    Tools --> Internet Options --> Content --> Certificates
    Click on the “Trusted Root Certification Authorities” tab
    Find the certificate identified in step iii
    Export as a CER certificate
    Click on the “Intermediate Certification Authorities” tab
    Find the certificate identified in step iii
    Export as a CER certificate
    Go to STRUST in SAP
    Import the Certificates in the “Anonymous” or “Standard” SSL client
    Save

  • Consuming external web services in CAF

    Hi there,
    I am trying to set up a show case where a composite CAF app (exposed via WD or VC) uses SAP web services as well as external services. In this case, I chose to use the Fedex web services (http://fedex.com/developer).
    Everything works fine, I am able to import the webservice using the locally stored WSDL into my composite app, apply the mapping and implement the application service......build, deploy...all good.
    The problem occurs when trying to create the physical destination (under nwa/destination template management). NW expects a pointer/url to the wsdl or wsil file, but Fedex doesn't provide that via http. Putting the wsdl on a different web server doesn't help either as the SOAP call will be routed to the same host where the wsdl resides (in this case NOT the fedex system).
    Is there any way to circumvent the WSDL retrieval with external web services in Netweaver ? One alternative solution could be to use the Netweaver Service registry and publish the fedex wsdl to that, but I would like to avoid that as we haven't configured the SR at the moment.
    Thx, Nick

    Looks like I don't need it necessarily.
    There seems to be a bug in NW/CE 7.1. When defining a destination which points to a WSDL file which in turn points to a different server for SOAP messages (ServicePort), the endpoint URL is incorrectly defined.
    WSDL URL: http://www.server1.com/test.wsdl
    SOAP URL/Port: http://server2.com/webservices
    the server tries to dispatch the SOAP call to http://server1.com/webservices which can't be found.
    In CE 7.1.1. though, that bug is fixed, and everything works fine without the need to publish the remote service (wsdl) to the SR and to subsequently query it.

  • Consuming External Web Services in Web Dynpro Java

    Hi All,
    I an trying to consume external web service in Web dynpro java using Adaptive Web Service Model.
    But getting below mentioned error while executing the web service
    Exception on execution of web service with WSDL URL 'D:\Web Service Project\CurrencyConvertor.asmx.xml' with operation 'ConversionRate' in interface 'CurrencyConvertorSoap'
    Steps i followed are as below:
    1. Created  Adaptive Web Service Model for this i select WSDL source as "Local File System or URL"
    In next step i select No logical destination radio button and click on next
    In next step, browse the WSDL file and successfully import the WSDL file.
    2. After successfully importing the WSDL file i wrote below code in Init method:
    WebModel modelweb = new WebModel();
    Request_ConversionRate reqConversion = new Request_ConversionRate(modelweb);
    ConversionRate conversion= new ConversionRate(modelweb);
    reqConversion.setConversionRate(conversion);
    wdContext.nodeRequest_ConversionRate().bind(reqConversion);
    3.After that execute the model - code is given below :
        IWDMessageManager manager = wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager();
        try
          wdContext.currentRequest_ConversionRateElement().modelObject().execute();
          wdContext.nodeResponse().invalidate();
          wdContext.nodeConversionRateResponse().invalidate();
        catch(Exception e)
          manager.reportException(e.getMessage(), false);
    Please let me know how to resolve this.

    Hi,
    You need to use destinations for metadata and modeldata.
    Configure those destination in Visula admin.
    you can refer to following link.

  • Integration between Purchase Requisition  & external web services

    Hi
    We have a requirement to Integrate  Purchase Requisition Process in MM & external web services(Portal).So we wanted to know what are the third party tools that SAP supports inorder to integrate both the systems.The requirement is like a business user from  Logistics team enters a PR on  a portal and the data flows to SAP through a connector and creates  a PO automtically if it has got sufficient data.
    Regards
    Prasad

    Hi,
    If you have the any transaction codes that are required to do the process in the backend MM, use the same tcodes and create the SAP Transaction iViews in the Portal.
    You can have three GUI (for look and feel) in the Portal iViews, SAP GUI for Windows that is the default one, SAP GUI for HTML has the Web look and feel, which requires you to configure the ITS and SAP GUI for Java. Depending on your requirement you can use any of the three.
    Hope this will help you.

  • External Web Service - User and password in HTTP header

    Hi!
    How is it possible to add user and password in the HTTP header in a external web service call?
    I have created a "Portal Service from WSDL file - Client side" with the wizard in SAP Developer Studio.  I following the Java Development Guide - Web Service Security, and use the <i>secured service connection</i>.  I have also created a new <i>System Landscape</i>, but should the new system be based on HTTP, my own PAR or what?
    How can I check that the user and password is added to the HTTP header or the SOAP envelope? Do I have to scan http traffic with a proxy as Paros or can I find the request sent from SAP EP in the logs?
    Cheers
    Asle

    Hello All,
    I have been struggling a bit while putting a reasonable security framework on a jax-rpc style web service. I'm using JWSDP1.2 to set up the webservice. I've tried to outline my problem below. Please correct me where I'm wrong.
    I've been through the Sun's WS tutorials, but they are not really clear on security. However, from them I surmised that there are two decent authentication techniques. HTTP Basic and mutual authentication (MA) . Both have their drawbacks though. HTTP Basic suffers from poor encryption while MA is a bit difficult to set up on both client and server sides. Another problem with MA is that there is no central repository for users/passwords.
    OK, what I would really like to do is use my own user database to verify users/passwords i.e. use a HTTP Basic like authentication (but at application level) but run it over SSL for encryption. It seems simple, but is it possible?
    Also, I have noted that when I use HTTP Basic on the service side, and use a java client, then setting username/password has no effect. In other words, I can always access the web-service, even with wrong username/password.
    Sorry for the long post. Hope someone can help. Thanks.

  • External web service provided by third party application

    Hi all,
    Hope to clarify some doubts on usage of Enterprise Service Repository. I understand that ESR is the storage of service interfaces that may be provided or consume by different systems in the landscape.
    If a business process is required to consume an external web service that is provided by a third party application on some web server, does the ESR stores the definition of the web service and provides it to the business process?
    Is ESR only a repository for service interfaces that would be implemented by the internal systems?
    Regards

    I was looking to confirm my understanding about defining external webservices in Enterprise Repository few weeks back. Though i did not get proper confirmation any one yet on this forum, here is my understanding,
    1. One can define the service interface for the third party webservice in Enterprise Service Repository for the purposes of keeping track of available services in the organization and also to provide some documentation about it for other developers looking to reuse it.
    2. One can also import the WSDL as external definition in to Enterprise Service Repository.
    3. We may not be able to generate proxies for these third party provided applications

  • Initiating BPM Process Instances from External Web Service Call

    I'm attempting to update the HelloWorld example so that I can create an instance of the process from an External Web Services Call rather than via the Workspace. Our current SOA Architecture is configured so that all BPM instances are managed through a .NET SmartClient via the Service Bus and the use of PAPI W/S and so I'm wishing to recreate this capability in the new BPM.
    I understand the replacement for PAPI W/S is Human Workflow so I've therefore updated and republished the HelloWorld Example with an Exposed 'TaskService' Service for the Human Task within the BPM Process.
    I've then attempted to reference the TaskService through our existing BPM, and have been able to import a number of generic WSDL's as follows:
    Task Service
    http://vmaquatestapp2:7001/integration/services/TaskService/TaskServicePort?WSDL
    Task Metadata Service
    http://vmaquatestapp2:7001/integration/services/TaskMetadataService/TaskMetadataServicePort?WSDL
    Task Query Service
    http://vmaquatestapp2:7001/integration/services/TaskQueryService/TaskQueryService?WSDL
    When I examine the available operations for these generic services, there are quite a lot, each of which have a fairly complex schema. I believe I should be using the TaskService: InitiateTask Operation to create an instance of my BPM Process but my questions are:
    - Is the above the correct method of interacting with BPM Instances from an external system such as the Service Bus?
    - Does anyone have any examples of a basic XML payload that would initiate a process instance?

    I created an process with a message start event and can call it from an external web service call. I can also pass input arguments and map those to process data objects. However I can not find how to return data as response to the external web service call as e.g. the process instance id.
    Is it possible to this?

  • Issue when calling an external web service - CRM 2013

    Hello everyone.
    This is my scenario:
    I'm doing a real time data integration from CRM to another software. I deployed several plugins, mostly in create/update messages, for the entities i want to sync. The developers of the other software gave me the endpoint of the web service and I created the
    client using svcutil. I manually created the binding and gave it to the generated client, along with the endpoint. At the first tests I could sync some registries, but I had some mapping errors. I debugged the plugin, corrected the errors, and when I
    want to tests again, the plugin is throwing me an exception when calls any method of the web service. Let me explain the issue:
    The exception:
    I instantiated the client for the web service (passing to it the binding and the endpoint). And when I'm trying to call any method (ex. Add), it throws the exceptions "InvalidOperationException". I started to debug the code and I notice that
    just before to call the web service method, the state of the client stills in "Opening". Of course that is generating the exception.
    The complete exception is: "The communication object, System.ServiceModel.ChannelFactory`1[IAxxisWcfServices], cannot be modified while it is in the Opening
    state."} System.SystemException {System.InvalidOperationException}
    I did a test, outside the CRM environment, on a console app with the same conditions of the web services client (generating with svcutil, manually passing the same binding and endpoint), and the same order of the plugin code, and everything works well; The
    state of the client never stills in 'Opening', so I discarded any problem with the web service.
    Anyone knows if I'm missing something in the code? or some configuration?
    The CRM is 2013 On-premise with last updates.
    Thanks in advance.

    I tried adding the web reference in a console app and works fine. In the plugins this can't be done, because the plugins are deploy in database.
    I tried another basic test using ChannelFactory. Only want to retrieve some entity through the external web services:
    IPluginExecutionContext context = localContext.PluginExecutionContext;
    IOrganizationService service = localContext.OrganizationService;
    ITracingService tracer = localContext.TracingService;
    try
    BasicHttpBinding binding = new BasicHttpBinding();
    binding.Name = "BasicHttpBinding_IAxxisWcfServices";
    binding.Security.Mode = BasicHttpSecurityMode.None;
    binding.Security.Transport.ProxyCredentialType = HttpProxyCredentialType.None;
    binding.Security.Transport.ClientCredentialType = HttpClientCredentialType.None;
    EndpointAddress endpoint = new EndpointAddress(@"http://*****.svc");
    ChannelFactory<IAxxisWcfServices> factory = new ChannelFactory<IAxxisWcfServices>(binding, endpoint);
    IAxxisWcfServices channel = factory.CreateChannel();
    var entity = channel.FindByEntities(new CRM.Application.Context.Dtos.Asegurado( { CrmGuid = "7C3E96C6-C3BC-E411-80DF-0A736AE14667" }, null, new CRM.Framework.Session() { User = "***", Password = "***" });

    Can anyone tell me what are the Parameters and setting required to define External Web Service?
    We have created New Web Service with following parameters in both the clients ROS and EBP.
    Web Service ID                     : ROS
    Description                          : Suppliers Directory in ROS Client
    Bus. Type of Web Service               : Lost of Vendors
    Display Partners Data Again in Vendor List      : X
    Vendor Root Node                     : 50000620
    Use Error Log                         : X
    Use HTTP GET to call Web Service          : <blank>
    Codepage of Service                    : <blank>
    Technical Type of Service               : <blank>
    Logical system                    : SRDCLNT300 (EBP Logical system)
    Path for Symbol for Service               : <blank>
    Define Standard Call Structure with following Parameters
    1        <blank>     http://erpdevsrci.egat.co.th:8010/sap/bc/bsp/sap/ros_prescreen/main.do
              URL
    2        HOOK_URL      <blank>     Return URL
    Please correct us.
    With this setting system does display the Suppliers Directory option in Supplier Screening (Suppliers Directory in ROS Client), however after selecting suppliers directory instead of listing the accepted supplier to transfer to EBP, system displays the same suppliers Prescreen again with no option to transfer accepted supplier to EBP client.
    I think I have not set the External Web services setting properly ..
    So can anyone send me the correct web service parameter setting?

    Display Partner Data again in Vendor List : X
    Vendor Root Node : 50000620  (this is Vensor Root node in EBP client)
    Use Error Log : X
    Use HTTP GET to call Web Service : <blank>
    Codepage of Service: <blank>
    Techinical type of Service : <Blank>
    Logical system : SRDCLNT310 (this is ROs client from there supplier will be transfered)
    Path for symbol for service : <blank>
    Standard Call Structure Parameter setting as follows

    8. ~caller CTLG fixed_value
    Also defined ROS external web service as default CAT attribute in the organization setting.
    Maintained ROS client in SAP_BBP_STAL_STRAT_PURCHASER role.
    Created New Users in ROS as well as EBP and tried the scenario. still it failed to transfer the supplier from Ros to EBP.
    Where can we debug the error message?

    Sandeep
