Extra Comma in Dynamic Generated Lists

Is there an EASY minimal-code way to deal with extra an extra comma (or any delimeter) at the begining or end of a list when generating the list as follows?
Code:
<cfset ut_search = ut_search & "," & cResults[1].owner.id>
Result:
,6001,1206(I don't want the begining comma in the list)
Code:
<cfset ut_search = cResults[1].owner.id  & "," & ut_search>
Result:
6001,1206, (I don't want the trailing comma in the list)

I am on fire today... answering my own questions left and right...
<cfset ut_search = ListAppend(ut_search, cResults[1].owner.id, ",")>

  • Dynamic generated list of available skinClasses/Classes

    Hi everyone,
    i searching for a way in Actionscript to generate automatic a Array of all available/included skinClasses/Classes/Packages at runtime.
    Do you have any idea or seen something going to this direction?

    Maybe I wasn't clear on what I need. I've already created pages with portlets on them for the users. However, the users may have access to more portlets than actually display on their page. I need a dynamic list of portlets that the user has access to. Kind of like a Portlet Repository Available Portlets list that I can add as a portlet on a page.
    Thanks!

  • How to run business services as dynamically generated Subject?

    Hi experts,
    I have configured a business service which puts a message on a JMS queue in a weblogic container other than ALSB's weblogic container.The queue is configured with a security policy [say a 'MessagePublisher' role], so that only users with role of 'MessagePublisher' can send message to that queue.
    We have different partners SFTPing messages(xml/csv/excel format) to us, of which only few of them would have a role of 'Message Publisher'. I have configured a proxy to read these files from a directory, however sender of some of these messages may not have a role of 'Message Publisher'.
    I am expecting the senders' credentials to be appended to the message by some process on SFTP server. How can I generate a 'Subject' within a proxy using these credentials and do a run as on the business service, so that only users with the role of 'MessagePublisher' succeed in sending message to the queue.
    I probably can configure my business service to run as a user account who has the relevant role, but I do not want to hard code the UserAccount within business service and obtain a user account using sender's credentials.
    Is ALSB not supposed to be used as suggested above?Would highly appreciate any thoughts on this..
    Regards.

    The JMS business service can use only a static service account. I think this has an undesirable implication that the business service cannot be invoked as a dynamically generated subject.
    Only way I know of to enforce role based access control in this scenario is to have an extra proxy service in front of JMS business service. Enforce access control over this extra proxy service.
    To invoke this extra proxy service with credentials embedded embedded in the message, I think you need to look at "custom authentication" option under message level security. I am not sure how this would work. May be someone here can explain that.

  • Dynamic Select List Allowed Values

    Howdy Folks,
    I am trying to allow end users to select their username. The usernames are generated from a rule library, and displayed in a select form element. I am doing this by having the allowedValues call the rule that generates the possible names directly. The rule returns a list of valid names. The problem I am currently having, is that if the page reloads or refreshes, then the allowedValues calls the rule again. Some of the username choices involve random numbers, so it is possible (and very likely), that separate calls to the rule will generate different potential values. So what is now happening, is that when a user selects the value, the page reloads, and the end user sees an error that looks like this:
    ( ) - Warning: Selected value for field 'Select a Valid User Name' does not match any of the allowed values.
    The reason I am reloading the page, is that I am also trying to show the user what their email address will look like with the new value. So I have a different form element that is loading is value dynamically, and referencing the select form element. This mostly works, but the warning above is unacceptable.
    Is there a way I can load the dynamically created list only once, the first time the form is viewed, and not load it again every time the page refreshes?
    Another thing I tried to do (but didn't have luck with, so I sorta gave up on it) was to use the onChange of the select to change the value of email display field. This way the page never reloads and I don't have to deal with that issue. I'm thinking the onChange might actually work, but I would need to execute javascript or something, and not just use an express <set/> command to set the value of the field name that displays the email text.
    Does anyone have advice on how to make the values only load once? Or how to change the value on the onChange event?
    Thanks!
    Jim

    Mike,
    Thanks for the feedback. I actually did try that eventually. I created a variable in the form, and initialized that variable to the list of possible values. Then I referenced the variable in the 'allowedValues' of the select form item. At that point in time I still had the select box set as an action, so it would reload the page, hoping to reload the value in the email display field. This still did not work. Each time the action fired off, the variable was re-initializing itself. I eventually tried to put in a check, so it would not re-initialize itself if it had already been initialized. That caused a syslog error.
    I ended up solving the problem using javascript. I changed the field that reported the potential email address to an html element. Then for the html attribute I made a div with an ID. I then set a line of javascript into the onChange attribute of the select form element. This worked when ever the select form value changed. I then added the same line of javascript to the onLoad attribute of the jsp pages body element. This worked for loading the page.
    This solved the problem of the page reloading and the select getting new values. That still happens if you actually reload the page, but all the form elements work without the reload now.
    Thanks!
    Jim

  • Dynamic parameter list in a webservice MXML request

    Hello,
    I'd like to dynamically generate the request parameter of a
    web service like that :
    &lt;mx:Application xmlns:mx=&quot;
    http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml&quot;
    layout=&quot;absolute&quot;&gt;
    &lt;mx:WebService id=&quot;pegasus&quot;
    wsdl=&quot;
    http://myservice?wsdl&quot;
    useProxy=&quot;false&quot;
    load=&quot;headers();&quot;&gt;
    &lt;mx:operation name=&quot; myOperation
    &quot;&gt;
    &lt;mx:request&gt;
    &lt;arg0&gt;
    &lt;parameter1&gt;{parameter1Input.text}&lt;/parameter1&gt;
    &lt;parameter2&gt;{parameter2Input.text}&lt;/parameter2&gt;
    &lt;listParameter3&gt;
    &lt;element1&gt;????&lt;/element1&gt;
    &lt;element1&gt;????&lt;/element1&gt;
    &lt;element1&gt;????&lt;/element1&gt;
    &lt;element1&gt;????&lt;/element1&gt;
    &lt;/listParameter3&gt;
    &lt;/arg0&gt;
    &lt;/mx:request&gt;
    &lt;/mx:operation&gt;
    &lt;/mx:WebService&gt;
    So I'd like to know how to generate the list, with an unknown
    number of elements, from a datagrid for example.
    I tried to generate a XML from a variable like that :
    &lt;mx:Application xmlns:mx=&quot;
    http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml&quot;
    layout=&quot;absolute&quot;&gt;
    &lt;mx:WebService id=&quot;pegasus&quot;
    wsdl=&quot;
    http://myservice?wsdl&quot;
    useProxy=&quot;false&quot;&gt;
    &lt;mx:operation
    name=&quot;myOperation&quot;&gt;
    &lt;mx:request&gt;
    &lt;arg0&gt;
    &lt;parameter1&gt;{parameter1Input.text}&lt;/parameter1&gt;
    &lt;parameter2&gt;{parameter2Input.text}&lt;/parameter2&gt;
    &lt;listParameter3&gt;
    {myList}
    &lt;/listParameter3&gt;
    &lt;/arg0&gt;
    &lt;/mx:request&gt;
    &lt;/mx:operation&gt;
    &lt;/mx:WebService&gt;
    &lt;mx:Script&gt;
    &lt;![CDATA[
    public var myList:XML;
    public function essai():XML {
    // call this function before send
    // populate myList from formulary
    ]]&gt;
    &lt;/mx:Script&gt;
    But it didn't work, can you help me ?

    This current problem with the forum makes code almost
    impossible to read. Hope they fix it soon.
    You can build the request object in AS code. Use mxml to
    declare the webservice. Then in a function do something like this
    example:
    //Sets up and invokes werservice call
    private function getEmployees():Void
    var sOperationName:String = &quot;getList&quot;;
    //Put the operation name in a var
    var oRequest:Object = employeeWS[sOperationName].request;
    //get a reference to the operations request object
    oRequest.deptId = dept.selectedItem.data; //put the deptId
    Name/Value pair in the request
    var call = employeeWS[sOperationName].send(); /Invoke the
    call

  • Need solution for dynamic pick lists in Crystal Reports

    Does anyone have a good solution for creating a dynamic pick list for a Crystal Report that is based off of a BW Query without having to use a BW user input variable? In many cases it is not practical to use a BW variable to generate a dynamic pick list due to the high number of possible member values and the highly dynamic nature of the particular characteristic (customers, materials, etc.).  In my understanding the LOV Server is not an option when dealing with SAP BW.  Anyone else running into this issue with Crystal and SAP BW?

    Hi Mike,
    we once solved this by creating LOVs in BusinessView Manager. I am not sure if you can use the BW Publisher in this scenario as we did not use it. We published the reports directly to the BOE server for some reasons.
    Creating a LOV in BusinessView manager is really easy. You can create cascading prompts, shedule refreshing of the lists, ...
    By using the cascading prompt feature you can make prompts like this:
    First enter the customer number (or pick it from a list) and then the second list, which holds the materials only has shows the ones which had been purchased by that customer. I think this is what you are looking for.
    You should give it a try!

  • Problem in dynamically generating the file upload field

    Hello all
    I am using netbeans 5.5 and visualwebpack for my jsf project.
    i have a problem in dynamically generating the file upload field and using it.
    I have a panel say "panelA" which holds file upload fields.
    Depending upon the count value i generate the file upload field using following code snippet:
    Upload upload1 = new Upload();
    upload1.setId("upload1");
    getPanelA.getChildren().add(upload1);
    The page successfully shows up the file upload fields. While the user clicks the submit button, i have used following logic to perform upload:
    List components = getPanelA().getChildren();
    for(int i = 0; i<components.size(); i++){
    if(components.get(i) instanceof Upload){
    UploadedFile uploadedFile = ((Upload)components.get(i)).getUploadedFile();
    I am getting this UploadedFile object null.
    How can i solve this problem.

    Anyway,
    I solved the problem.
    Actually i was using label property of the upload field due to which i got null pointer exception.
    I removed the label property of the upload field and things worked as i wanted.

  • Dynamically generate JSF Source code in a JSP

    Hi,
    I have a JSP and instead of writing the JSF source Code like:
    <h:inputText
    styleClass="entryInput"
    id="textNumberOfServerMachinesInput"
    value="#{DataAccess.value}"
    valueChangeListener="#{InputValueChanged.processValueChange}">
    </h:inputText>
    manually in the jsp I want the JSF source code to be added dynamically to the jsp.
    So what I want is including a tag in the jsp and this tag generates JSF source code like seen above.
    This source code should then be treated just the way it would be if I had written it manually in the JSP. This means that the dynamically generated JSF code must be interpreted and all Listeners and Beans work just fine.
    How can I make this???

    Hi,
    I have a smiliar problem:
    JSP:
    <h:panelGrid binding="#{fileUploadGrid.panelGrid}">
       <%-- emty in jsp --%>
    </h:panelGrid>The panel should be populated with items the backing bean creates in source code:
    FileUploadGrid.java
    public void setUploadFieldNumber(int uploadFieldNumber) {
        this.uploadFieldNumber = uploadFieldNumber;
        this.refresh();
    private void refresh() {
        if (this.panelGrid == null)
          this.createPanelGrid();
        List children = this.panelGrid.getChildren();
        children.clear();

  • Dynamically generating colums

    Hi Experts,
    i have one requirement.
    just i will explain u with an example.
    i have ekko header in selection screen .
    i want to retrive ekko items for the selected ekko header and display the item data horizontally along with the header.
    so the columns shud be generated  dynamically.
    now i want to fill itab with that  values and generate extra colums for that .
    so if anybody worked on such scenerio pls reply me with the solution as soon as possible.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kranthi

    You can try for example something like this, to dynamically generate a table/structure:
    DATA: struct_type TYPE REF TO cl_abap_structdescr,
          table_type TYPE REF TO cl_abap_tabledescr.
    DATA: table TYPE REF TO data.
    DATA: compontents TYPE COMPONENT_TABLE.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <comp> LIKE LINE OF components.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <table> TYPE ANY TABLE, <structure> TYPE ANY, <field> TYPE ANY.
    * Create table/structure
    INSERT INITIAL LINE INTO TABLE components ASSIGNING <comp>.
    <comp>-name = 'field'.
    <comp>-type = cl_abap_typedescr=>describe_by_name( 'CHAR50' ).
    struct_type = cl_abap_structdescr=>create( components ).
    table_type = cl_abap_tabledescr=>create(struct_type).
    CREATE DATA table TYPE HANDLE table_type.
    ASSIGN table->* TO <table>
    * Fill table
    INSERT INITIAL LINE INTO TABLE <table> ASSIGNING <structure>.
    ASSIGN COMPONENT 'field' OF STRUCTURE <structure> TO <field>.
    <field> = 'value'.
    * Access table
    LOOP AT <table> ASSIGNING <structure>.
      WRITE: 'Line:', sy-tabix.
      LOOP AT components ASSIGNING <comp>.
        ASSIGN COMPONENT <comp>-name OF STRUCTURE <structure> TO <field>.
        WRITE: / <comp>-name, ':', <field>.
      ENDLOOP.
      WRITE /.
    ENDLOOP.
    What you need to know is the components of your structure, before creating the data type. But you could use this table to store your data for display in the ALV.
    You can also get the components of an existing structure and add your fields to that:
    struct_type ?= cl_abap_typedescr=>describe_by_name( 'EKKO' ).
    components = struct_type->get_components( ).

  • Dynamic Form list/menu

    I'm trying to insert a dynamicly generated form list/menu dropdown item.
    Everything works but the list always shows me the last record from the database as the first item in the list (ASC or DESC).
    I want to put a dummy label as the first item in the list like: Select from list
    How can i do this, because even if i put a static value in the value list items, it still shows the last item from the recordset first instead of the static value.
    Does anybody have an idea how i can create a dynamic pulldown list in my form with the first item listed to be a statich dummy tekst or label like "Select from list etc"
    Thanks,

    I created a normal recordset with Dreamweaver getting tea
    m_id and team_names out of the database. Then i list the teamnames in a form list/
    menu (dropdown) to show all the available teams. Again it shows me the last record from the
    recordset as the first list item and i want a standard "select this" text or something default.
    The form code below is generated by dreamweaver itself. I already tried to also put one static value in the value list property but i get the same result. To me it looks like the while loop is overriding whatever you put as static text.
    <form id="form1" name="form1" method="post" action="">
      <label for="list_teams">Teams:</label>
      <select name="list_teams" id="list_teams">
        <?php
    do {
    ?>
        <option value="<?php echo $row_Teams['team_id']?>"<?php if (!(strcmp($row_Teams['team_id'], $row_Teams['team_id']))) {echo "selected=\"selected\"";} ?>><?php echo $row_Teams['team_name']?></option>
        <?php
    } while ($row_Teams = mysql_fetch_assoc($Teams));
      $rows = mysql_num_rows($Teams);
      if($rows > 0) {
          mysql_data_seek($Teams, 0);
       $row_Teams = mysql_fetch_assoc($Teams);
    ?>
      </select>
    </form>

  • Dynamic generate JCheckBoxes...

    Hello,
    can anybody give me an impulse?
    It concerns the following:
    - my script is reading out a folder (reading out the names of the files in this folder)
    - I get a String[] array with the names in it
    - on the basis of the names in the String[] array I will dynamic generate some JCheckBoxes
    - my problem is that I don't know how I can dynamic generate the names of the JCheckBoxes, because the data types are different
    Regards,
    kostro03

    JCheckBox[] folderReadOutAsCheckBoxes (File file) {
        String[] fileNames = file.list ();
        JCheckBox[] checkBoxes = new JCheckBox[files.length];
        for (int i = 0; i < checkBoxes.length; i ++) {
            checkBoxes[i] = new JCheckBox (fileNames);
    // add listeners and such
    return checkBoxes;
    }Remember that [[i]i] is being replaced with <i> by the parser.

  • Attempt to prepopulate list is giving "?? error generating list"

    I have what is really a fairly simple form that contains a list. I use form level trigger (POST-FORM) to dynamically populate the list. I start with default values, but the user can change these defaults and hit a button marked "Apply" and the list will refresh. The PL/SQL is in a stored procedure. For the last two years, this has worked fine. Two things happened last month. First, we upgraded the database from version 10gR2 to 11gR2. Second, I rolled out a new version of the form that really only changed the visual attributes (colors, fonts, etc). The PL/SQL code didn't change even one bit.
    Well, formerly, the list worked as designed. Now, upon initial view, the list contains a single line that says "?? error generating list". And what's even more unusual, is that if I don't modify the defaults and just hit "Apply", the list refreshes fine.
    I've tried searching for the text "?? error generating list" but I get nothing. Any ideas?

    We just found culprit
    Rows per page of table view must be max 999999999 which is more than enough for our needs.

  • Using a dynamic jump list to perform certain actions

    Hi all,
    I have a form with a dynamic jump list that I need to do a few things with. If anyone could help, I would be most grateful!
    The page has 2 hidden form elements and I also have a redirect page created for a certain situation. When the user makes a selection one of the following should happen;
    1) One hidden element should be shown if a value in the database record is true (e.g. Value1 = 1).
    2) Both hidden elements should be shown if two database values are true (e.g. Value 1 = 1 and Value 2 = 1).
    3) The user should be redirected to another page if a database value is not true (e.g. Value 3 = 0, blank or NULL)
    else hidden form sections remain hidden
    The jump list is currently a dynamic jump list created through the Insert > Forms section and I have setup show if's for the relevant form sections that rely on the respective database values, so I hope half the work is done, but I assume the page will need a reload for options 1 & 2.
    One other thing is that the jumplist shows the value (e.g. event name) but selects the unique ID for entering into the database. I will need to retain this too.
    Thanks in advance.
    Dave

    I solved my problem, but thanks. The script I was using was
    sort of two fold. It was writing an actual text file and then
    pulling from that to create the php file...
    So when I updated the xml file to print and echo to both the
    browser and the text file generated it solved everything...
    you can see the tutorial I started with here
