  • Confusion about data guard broker - extra cost option?

    Dear All,
For 11gR2, I know that Data Guard setup is a free option that comes with Enterprise Edition, you don'r require an additional licence for it.
But I have read somewhere the Data Guard Broker and using DGMGRL is an extra cost option? Is it true?
    Kindly help to understand this?
    Thanks.

    Hello;
    It's part of Enterprise Edition.
The following conditions must be met before you can use the broker:
The primary and standby databases must be using the same version of Oracle
Database 11g and each can be installed in either a single-instance or multi-instance
environment. The database must be licensed for Oracle Enterprise Edition or
    Personal Edition.

  • Removing "Extra Cost" options

I am in charge of Oracle DB Server-related jobs including installation.
We use Oracle 9i Enterprise R2 edition, with no extra cost option (I just realize extra cost option after installation and reviewing documentation).
The program has been installed using default option and the databases have been created with default option.
Now, how to remove such extra cost option through Oracle Installation (Product Inventory), from which that I should select to uninstall.
    I try the following:
    - select all extra cost option through manually searching (expanding +) the folder, and uninstall the product
    - change database option (database configuration) by removing extra cost option such as data mining, OLAP, spatial etc
    - remove all user, tablespace and schema related to extra cost option
Anyway, when I see "Database - Instance Configuration", I always see DB Version Oracle 9i blah blah blah Production with Oracle Spatial & Data Mining Option. Why so, and what should I do?
    Sincerely,
    Ervin L

  • Is ASM an extra cost option for databases

    Hi,
    This regarding an 1z0-515 exam question;
Is ASM an extra cost option for Oracle databases?
It does not seem to be an extra cost option according to the price list.
s there any way that ASM can be interpreted as an extra cost option?

Regards,it depends, size, purpose, number of instances of the databases and project/organization.
if it is small, minimal usage and less number of user access, and also single instance
then we can use operating system file system for storage.
    it depends.

  • Cost Group Option PJM

    Hi,
Our customer is implemented Finance, SCM and Manufacturing with out projects module.
Now they are planning to implement PJC, PJB, PJM (project Manufactring) modules. They are Planning only Contract projects
The existing inventory orgs, project cost collection is not enabled and System not allowing to change the Cost Group option "By project" in PJM parameter.
Oracle Support suggested to go with define new inventory org since cost group option should not be changed once transaction exists in std costing.
    1. Please provide any other solutions. Creating new invnetory org and converting the existing items/balances to new org is very big task.
    2. If i have project manufactring org is different then the inventory org then how project inventory will be maintained?
    3. For future implementaions, Can i suggest enable Project cost collection and cost group option by project to set at the begining, if any client planning for project later point in time. will there be any impact
    Thanks

  • Is the "512GB PCIe-based Flash Storage" on the new mac worth the extra cost?  I am comparing with a refurb with better specs (faster CPU, larger hard drive) and from what I undersand the PCIe flash storage is the big differentiator in cost.

hello - i am considering two macbook pros
    NEW - http://store.apple.com/us/buy-mac/macbook-pro?product=ME294LL/A&step=config#
    REFURB - http://store.apple.com/us/product/G0ML1LL/A/refurbished-macbook-pro-27ghz-quad-c ore-intel-i7-with-retina-display
The refurb actually has a faster processor and a larger hard drive.  From what I understand, the big difference in cost is the new macbook pro contains "512GB PCIe-based Flash Storage" versus the refurb "768GB Flash Storage".
Is the PCIe flash storage really worth the extra cost (and smaller size)?
PS - Also I believe the brand new one has 2 GB graphics memory as opposed to 1 GB graphics memory.  I don't really care about that as much as I won't be doing a lot of video editing or gaming.

Is she wrong - are these actually going to people's homes, being used, then returned and resold?
Some are some are not. Otherwise Apple has a ton of Mac's sitting around that have been returned by customers under their 14 day No Questions Asked return policy.
But they not just Returned and Resold. They go back to Apple, checked out (Tested) any parts that are not up to spec replaced and then repackaged in a plain white box to be sold as refurbs.

Your question is not clear do you want to add freight cost on the receiving plant ?
if so have you created condition for your freight cost with delivery cost as condition

  • "starter placer cost table" option in FPGA

Can someone explain when to use the "starter placer cost table" option in FPGA?
    Steve

For others reading this, here's what we're talking about:
Here's what the Xilinx Documentation says about it (it's a map & place and route feature):
    Starting Placer Cost Table (1-100)
Specifies a placement initialization value with which to begin the Place and Route attempts. Each subsequent attempt is assigned an incremental value based on the placement initialization value. Select a number from 1 to 100.
The number you choose corresponds to a cost table index and results in different Place and Route strategies. Cost tables assign weighted values to relevant factors such as constraints specified in the input file (for example, certain components must be in certain locations), the length of connections, and the available routing resources. Cost-based placement is described in the "PAR" chapter of the Command Line Tools User Guide.
By default, this property is set to 1.
Basically, it's the starting seed for the Xilinx Algorithms that try to get all of your logic in the right place on the FPGA.
So, back to your question: when should you change it? I would say almost never. I think the best time to use it is if you're running into a PAR bug that causes the compilation to hang or crash. It can help you meet timing, but you're likely going to have to do a lot (hundreds) of compilations to find the right value. Since we only let you use a random value... hitting that checkbox might let you meet timing when you compile, and then not the next time. Useful if you're tight on timing and have a final design that you're trying to get a bitfile for. Not so useful during development.

  • Oracle Options licensed 1:1 with Oracle Ent. Edition 11gR2 or by Instance?

Are Oracle Options licensed 1:1 with Oracle Ent. Edition 11gR2 (e.g. by CPU core multiplier) or by number of database instances on a host? In other words, if I need to purchase two Oracle Enterprise Edition licenses for a single host, do I need to purchase the same number of Oracle Option licenses (again, based on a CPU core multiplier). Or by the number of Oracle database instances installed on that host?
Anyone have a link to an official Oracle options licensing document that spells this out? Found one for 11g but it didn't get down into the weeds, saying if there was any difference between # of licenses required for an Option vs. a license for Oracle Enterprise Edition itself.
    Requested Oracle option licensing reference

They are licensed 1:1 with EE, so 4 EE licenses means 4 Partitioning Option licenses, etc.
It is in the Oracle Store.

  • How would you justify extra cost of Windows Pro Version

Well remote desktop access is only possible in the Pro version.  You are also future proofing your organisation when it gets big enough to warrant AD control.  The cost of Pro when bought with a PC is only very little compared to the £100+ you seem to get charged when you upgrade at a later date.
With shopping around I see no price difference between Home and Pro PC's (in fact with the host of special offers at the moment they seem to be cheaper...

So recently my friend had been asking me why would we need to purchase a pro edition if we are not running an AD. How would you guys justify the extra cost of purchasing Pro version of windows compared to home editions in a small business environment to your management?

  • HT201272 If I buy music but erase can I get it again no extra cost

If I buy music but erase and want again can I down load no extra cost

It depends upon what country that you are in (this page lists what content types can be re-downloaded in each country), and whether it remains in the store - you are better off keeping your own backup copies of your purchases, rather then relying on being able to re-download it

  • Hi I hold a full creative cloud membership, Are there any extra costs for DPS enterprise edition? Thanks!

I'm wanting to produce a monthly magazine using the DPS, and was wondering if there are any extra costs or if everything is included with creative cloud full membership.
Ive seen that single editions for ipad are free, but i need to build for multiple platforms and think enterprise edition would be best.
    Can anyone advise.
    Thanks

    Thanks Bob
Ive found the costs, more than i expected...I noticed that you only get 250 free downloads a month, then you have to pay for any extra. Our downloads would be 155,000+ a month, Any idea how much this is? or can you direct me to where i can find out. Our downloads would be 155,000 a month.
Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
