Extra texts got spits out from XML XSL transformation?

Hi:
I was trying to output a transformed text from a XSL with XML file, It seems that it spits out all the values from xml file inbetween all the element tags. But all I really need is just a small chunk of it. Does any one know how to get rid of the extra stuff from the generated text?
Thanks

If your XSL doesn't specify what to do with a particular node, the default is to copy it to the output. That's what is happening to you. The remedy is for your XSL to specify a template for the root node ("/") that produces the output you want. Or something like that, your details are rather sketchy.

  • I got locked out from my iPad mini during setup, keep ask me for passcode but I didn't set one up.  Reboot unsuccessful, iTune won't let me connect because I didn't enter my passcode. How to fix this?

    I got locked out from my iPad mini during my initial setup.  Keep ask me for passcode but I haven't setup one.  Reboot and restart didn't solve the problem, tried connect to iTunes but it won't let me because it requires the passcode.  Tried my Exchanged password, Apple ID password and my iPhone passcode but none work.  Any idea to resolve this?

    Try and force your iPad into Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
    3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
    Note: Data will be lost.

    I make transformation (XML , XSL) --> HTML using parser v2 of Oracle XDK for Java v 9.2.0.2.0
    I want to generate html in which several tags will follow one after another without new line, and indents.
    Like this
    <html>
    <body>
    <img src="1.jpg"/><img src="2.jpg"/>
    </body>
    </html>
    Only in this case images will be visualized in IE5 together without spaces.
    But xsl-processor is formatting output text: put each tag on new line and make indents for child tags.
    I tried to
    1) eliminate white spaces in xsl
    2) use <xsl:output indent="no"/>
    3) use <xsl:strip-space elements="*"/>
    4) use method setPreserveWhitespace(true/false) of XMLParser (oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParser)
    Xsl-processor continue to format output text.

  • Remove tags from XML using transformation

    Can anybody tell me how to remove empty tags using xsl transformation.
    <App_Data App="MOD" Name="Metadata_Id" Value="SP1282"/>
    <App_Data App="MOD" Name="Metadata_Spec_Major_Version" Value=""/>
    <App_Data App="MOD" Name="Metadata_Spec_Minor_Version" Value=""/>
    My XML will have tags similar to above. My requirement is to remove all tags having attribute Value="". How can i achieve this using transformation.
    Thanks
    Krish

    You need to add the xsi:nil="true" attribute to your xsl-construct to be able to ommit the xml-element which are empty.
    To be able to do this you need to add a choose-when-otherwise xsl construct inside your mapping file to test for ""-values.
    The xsi:nill='true' isn't supported in the transform-activity yet, you need to add this attribute manually inside your xsl-mapping file.
    Kind regards,
    Nathalie

  • I got logged out from every site I left logged in

    Today I shut my browser down when I was on YouTube and turned it back on to find myself logged out. I fell asleep and left YouTube up and running I went back when I woke up just a few minutes ago to check a site I went to to find every site I had left myself logged into logged out. Does Firefox do that now or is something else going on? I've had maybe 1-2 sites logged out before but never all of them at once.

    Nortons but it only clears tracking cookies and I just ran that and have multiple times and it never has done this. I don't have any security related add-ons besides the Norton Toolbar and Ad Block Plus. They haven't done that before either.
    Could it have happened when I shut it down when I was on YouTube and started it up a bit faster than I normally do? That's when it booted my YouTube account and then another one was logged out as well but they had done some site maintenance so I thought maybe that's why it kicked (which could be entirely possible for that one).
    I think I just started it back up after shutting it down to fast that it cleared the cookies and logged me out of everything. I've logged back in and shut it down and started it back up twice and everything is still logged in now.

  • Read in XML file and spit out specific element

    Hi all i wonder if someone could give me a hand. I've got some code (below) which reads in an xml file and spits out the contents of the file. Thats fine and dandy, however what i want to be able to do is specify which element to spit out, which i'm not sure how to do. So say i had the following xml file:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>

              <correctAnswer>question2 answer1</correctAnswer>
         </question>
    </OpenSourceQuestions>What i want to do is only spit out the xml for the first question, i.e. "A raster graphics editor" and its answers
    Here is my java code for reading in and arsing the file:
    void readXML(){
                try {
                     File fXmlFile = new File("MyXMLFile.xml");
                     DocumentBuilderFactory dbFactory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
                     DocumentBuilder dBuilder = dbFactory.newDocumentBuilder();
                     Document doc = dBuilder.parse(fXmlFile);
                     doc.getDocumentElement().normalize();
                     System.out.println("Root element :" + doc.getDocumentElement().getNodeName());
                     NodeList nList = doc.getElementsByTagName("question");
                     System.out.println("-----------------------");
                     for (int temp = 0; temp < nList.getLength(); temp++) {

                         System.out.println("Answer4 : "  + getTagValue("answerChoice4",eElement));
                } catch (Exception e) {
                  e.printStackTrace();
               private static String getTagValue(String sTag, Element eElement)
                     NodeList nlList= eElement.getElementsByTagName(sTag).item(0).getChildNodes();
                     Node nValue = (Node) nlList.item(0);

  • XML, XSL - HTML(JSP), bad UTF-8 encoding on Tomcat

    I use simple transformation to create HTML (JSP) page from XML, XSL (both are encoded in UTF-8}. When doing this in embedded web server in JD9i developer, the result is fine. But when run at Tomcat 4.0.3, UTF-8 chars are displayed as 2 characters. It's interesting that the transformation gives different results:
    - in JD9i the UTF-8 chars are left unchanged and shown good in IE browser
    - in Tomcat the chars with acute (/) are transformed into "&iacute;" , "&aacute;" and so on and shown properly, whereas chars with caron (V) are encoded and shown badly.
    Does somebody know solution to this ? Thanks.

    Doing some more experiments reveals a subtle difference between GET and POST with Tomcat - it may apply to other application servers, but I have only tested with Tomcat 5 and Tomcat 6, so I can't say.
    The following is essentially what most people have indicated you need to do to have your JSP handle UTF-8:
    <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8" pageEncoding="UTF-8" %>
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
    <html>
    <head>
      <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
      <title>My Title</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    </body>
    </html>This is what I couldn't get working with my GET (the default for forms) and ended up working when I specified the URIEncoding for the connector in the server.xml file.
    It turns out that the above will work with no modifications to the server.xml file if the form method is POST. If you need to be able use GETs then you will need to modify the connector, otherwise it would seem nothing you do at the JSP or servlet level will make a difference, unless you want to convert each parameter manually:
      String parameter = new String( request.getParameter("myParam").getBytes("ISO-8859-1"), "UTF-8" );Edited by: ajmasx on Sep 27, 2007 10:20 AM

  • Unused xml tags being printed in xsl transformation

    Hi,
    I'm just starting out with xslt, and I am have a small problem with unused data being added into the html output from an xsl transformation. The data set is very small and the transdorm is not complicated, but when I do a
    <xsl:template match="aa/bb/cc">
    <title><xsl:value-of select"."/></title>
    </xsl:template>
    cc will be used as the title, but aa/bb/dd and aa/bb/ee will be printed to the output stream directly after the </title> as standard text.
    <title>cc</title>ddee
    I have include the xml, the transform and the html source recieved at the end of this mail.

  • Got locked out as administrator

    I know this has been asked before but could not find an answer that I could use.
    Got locked out from my computer as an administrator -- did not forget the log in code - but I get the computer shaking when I enter the log-in info that I have been using for a while.
    Tried to booth from the Lion usb start up disk -- tried to use previous back ups -- I just can not get in ...
    Any one with ideas -- besides taking it to service
    I'll never make it as a hacker since I can not even get into my own computer that I have used for years....

    Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
    When the Mac OS X Utilities screen appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar.
    In the Terminal window, enter “resetpassword” and press return. A Reset Password window opens.
    Select your boot volume if not already selected.
    Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
    Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
    Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.
    You should now be able to log in with the new password, but you won't be able to unlock the Keychain. If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it. You’ll need to reset your keychain in the preferences of the Keychain Access application.

  • PRE like feature in XML/XSL/FOP?

    How can i format an XML Element Text in a way (XML/XSL Transformation with FO) that the existing spaces and linebreaks persist? just like the <PRE> tag in HTML?

    but that's what i did. i know what Fop is, because i use it. and i know the apache fop homepage and already searched there for this question. i just want to know how i can preserve the spaces and linebreaks of XML content when formated with fop (or any other xsl:fo processor).

  • Weblogic 6.0 XSL Transformation whitespace Problem

    I am having a problem with the HTML that is coming out of my XSL
    transformation in Weblogic 6.0, service pack 2.
    The problem occurs in a place where the </TD> tag is preceded by a
    carriage return in the HTML code that is generated. This causes an
    extra blank line in the browser (the famous "whitespace bug" in the
    browsers).
    I was able to control this when I created my own HTML by moving the
    </TD> tag up to the previous line. I no longer have this control
    since I am using XML and XSL - Weblogic is doing the transformation to
    HTML for me. Even if I move the </TD> tag in the XSL, the HTML that
    is outputted reformats it and puts the </TD> tag on the next line.
    Has anyone else seen this problem? I'm wondering if there is some way
    that you can tell the transformer to concatenate the HTML?
    Any info would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Larry
