Extra Window when using SubPanel

First I have followed the example in: Dynamic LabVIEW Subpanel in a TestStand User Interface
I am using LabVIEW 2012, and TestStand 2012, a modified Full UI (LabVIEW)
I have followed the example from above to create a subpanel in my user interface.
I pre load all the available "tests" sequence files when the Full UI is launched.
Then the user picks from the ListBox and runs via "Test UUTs" or "Single Pass".
The appropriate Front Panels Populate in the SubPanel, but are not active.  At the same time a new window opens with the same VI.  This window is the active version of the Front Panel in question.
I have reviewed the Caveats described in the example:
1. The VI is not open in LabVIEW before executing.
2. I don't believe I'm running a seperate thread.
I've tried multiple settings for the individual steps in the sequence file with no difference.
Why does the second window open with the active VI?
Thanks in advance, Newb-D

Chaka,
I appreciate you sticking with me on this, thank you.
I am not using the Asynchronous step.  I have "Show Front Panel" selected.
Some things I found in my continued experimentation is:
1. When using the Simple UI, and putting the activeX components inside the Event Callbacks subVI I get the same response as I see in the Full UI.
2. I tried moving the ActiveX components to different locations in the Full UI and had no success.
3. This makes me think there may be a setting in the Full UI somewhere that is stopping us.
I've attached a few pictures of what I did in the Simple UI.

  • Database login windows when using DataSet ( CR2008 )

    After executing this code, I get a database login window when using a DataSet, wondering why I am asked for user/pwd when using DataSets.

    Thanks Jonathan for the tip. I tried it before and after the setDatabaseLogin call yesterday, but got the same results. I'm still going to follow your suggestion because that makes more sense.
    Turns out it was the configuration of my ODBC/System DSN that was causing the problem. I reconfigured the System DSN by clearing the check box to provide username/password and now I don't get the Database Login anymore.
    I found a different blog post that answered the OLE DB issue I was seeing where the DatabaseName was coming up blank:
    Login Error Database at Runtime
    Haven't tried it yet and probably won't because I got the Viewer to work with ODBC the way I like it.
    Thanks for the help!

  • Force iView to open in a new window when using NavigationTarget

    Scenario - Portal Version 6.0 - NW2004  SP16 - WAS 6.40
    A Custom iView is used to gain access to an application running outside of the portal.  The user's credentails to the target application are recorded in the portal's UME via user mapping.
    I want a user to be able to click a hyperlink to this iView that has been embedded in an email, and have the user gain access to the target application by 'going via the portal'.  The url that I use is of the form:
    http //<my_portal_server>/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=navurl://49a8add355f836061e6279f389cdc72e&open=/page&id=100&proc=10067&flag=1
    This is working, the user is first taken to the portal's login page, and upon successful login to the SAP portal, user is then directed to the target iView, and is logged in automatically to the target application, and able to use the target application.
    >BUT EVEN though the iveiw is configured to open in a new window it does not. It always opens in the main content area, and it always opens in this area in a height of about 40 pixels.  The iView properties are set to FULLPAGE.
    >If I invoke this iView using the portal's standard built in navigation, it does open in a new window
    >It just won't open in a new window when using direct URL to the iView WHY?
    How can I get the target iView to open in a new window under all circumstances?
    Do I need to pass more information in the URL?
    Are there a standard list of URL parameters somewhere that influence the behaviour of the NavigationTarget?  I have seen reference to 'context', 'mode' etc but can't find a list of valid parameters?

  • Extra "JavaEmbeddedFrame" Window when using JDownloader

    Hello everyone,
    when I start JDownloader i get an extra window named "JavaEmbeddedFrame". Actually its not really a window because I can never see it, but it shows up in both my tint2 taskbar and activities tasklist (or whatever its called).
    The same problem (with a picture) is described here:
    http://askubuntu.com/questions/100409/e … downloader
    From my web research I found out, that JavaEmbeddedFrame is something Java uses to generate Tray Icons.
    I could however not find a solution on how to get rid of those extra windows.
    Any Ideas?
    Regards
    deBazthed

    mister_playboy wrote:Have you tried disabling the JD Light Tray plugin within JDownloader?
    I did not However it made the problem disappear. Of course now JD won't minimize to the tray anymore, but i guess i can still do it with alltray.
    Thank you!

    When using Firefox, Internet explorer sometimes opens the same website or opens up a pop up advertisement.

    Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.
    You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.
    Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database.

  • Suggestion: to add the feature to expand the to/cc/bcc windows when using google mail.

    when using google mail, at the compose window can you add
    the capability to expand the size of the to/cc/bcc/ windows?
    Safari allows the expansion of the to/cc/bcc windows so one
    may see all the entries at a glance. TIA. wm king

    That capability will be added in Firefox 4.
    I see you have OS X 10.4 and a PPC Mac, unfortunately you will not be able to install Firefox 4 as it requires an Intel Mac and at least OS X 10.5. There is a third party build of Firefox 4 for the PPC and 10.4 available from http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/

  • How to hide the extra line when use the AI pen tool

    When I use AI CC  pen tool to draw a line, when i click the 1st anchor point,  " - " shows next to the Poniter  ( I did not drag ) ,I tried to move, but  an extra line coming out before I click another point. So I could not draw lines or curves!  That extra line just follow the Pointer  direction.  I am using Window 32 bit,  will it affect this?  please help.

    suetsuetwong,
    Apologizing for my being so slow in the uptake, I believe I have finally grasped the meaning.
    As I now (mis)understand it, you are seeing the (maybe overly) helpful Smart Guides in action.
    You may ignore the line or untick Smart Guides in the View dropdown, or change their settings as desired.
    The Smart Guides are trying to help you with snapping to directions, paths, Anchor Points, whatever, and also telling you where you are.

  • Logoff Pop-up window when using IE7

    We are currently on EP 7.0 and have found that when accessing the portal from an Internet Explorer 7 machine, the logoff button does not log you off of the system, but takes you to an internet explorer pop-up screen which says....
    The webpage you are viewing is trying to close the window
    Do you want to close the window?  Y/N
    I understand the pop-up is because of some new features in IE7, but our users do not like any features that make them click extra times.  Has anyone figured out a way to bypass the pop-up screen?

    having a confirmation popup before logoff is useful. What if the user clicks on the logoff link by mistake? anyway, in order to disable the popup, you would need to modify the original mathead par file using the NWDS development tool.
    you can download com.sap.portal.masthead par file into NWDS,  open the file HeaderiView.jsp; then replace the folloing line
    LogoffLink.setOnClientClick("javascript:openLogoffMsg();");
    with
    LogoffLink.setOnClientClick("javascript:logoff();");
    Good luck! let me know if you have further questions.... and if my response was helpful don't forget the points....

  • Open in same window, when using simple finder window

    When I am using finder windows in simplified mode (no sidebar) any folder I open, pops up a new window. Is it possible to have folders open in the same window?
    Thanks

    Thanks for the correction ref. the opt key, Don. However I always have the finder selection unchecked and in icon view it still opens new windows…
    Odd. When I check or uncheck that item in Finder Preferences, the resultant behavior is as expected in all folder view modes, including Icon view.

  • Open in new tab on right click fails to open in the current window when used in a dependent window called with window.open command from original window this worked fine until ver 4.0

    i have been using this page in all versions of firefox until ver 4.0 and it has worked fine
    https://npwas.com/dummy/charts/charts.html
    when this page is loaded enter a stock symbol in the text field "AAPL"
    then click one of the lower links --"Yahoo Headlines"-- and another window is opened with this code
    - function yahoolink(sqlstring, winnum) {
    - var myurl = "http://finance.yahoo.com/";
    - var mysymbol = document.SymbolForm.symbol.value;
    - var mysrc = myurl + sqlstring + mysymbol;

    - mysrc = "http://messages.finance.yahoo.com/" + -sqlstring + mysymbol;
    window.open(mysrc,mywindow,'resizable=yes,titlebar1=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1');
    all this works but when i right click on a message or news item and select "OPEN IN NEW TAB" - it fails to open the tab in this current window it opens it in the parent window --
    the way i have always used this is to able to select news and right click all news items to read as new tabs and have all news items or messages to be grouped in the child window

    the user cor-el has a method that does not require any add-ons. He States
    This code in userChrome.css will move "Open Link in New Window" to the top of the context menu.
    <pre>@namespace url("<a href="http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul">http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul</a>"); /* only needed once */
    #contentAreaContextMenu &gt; * { -moz-box-ordinal-group: 2; }
    #context-openlink { -moz-box-ordinal-group: 1 !important; }</pre>
    the user jay_ff shows how to do it using the Menu Editor Add-on
    1. Install the Menu Editor add-on from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/menu-editor/ .
    2. After the installation, go to Firefox> add-ons (or simply use Ctrl+Shift+A)
    3. Go to the Menu Editor "Options"
    4. In the "Main context menu," simply grab the "Open link in New Tab" and place it below the "Open Link in New Window"
    5. and Voila! You may also change other menu options if you want to!
    I tried jay_ff method first and found that indeed changing the Main Context Menu did cause the hotlink context menu to change as well.

  • Opening New IE Window When Using WebGUI

    Does anyone have any experience with extending notifications?  We need guidance on how to change the HTML properties so that when a user users the links in the Outlook notifications from workflow, that it opens a new IE window even if they have an IE window open.
    What currently is happening, is that when a user is logged into the HR portal and then tries to use the links in the email notifications from Outlook, the SAP webgui logon pad opens up in the current open IE window and tries to pass the same crendentials that were passed for the HR portal and will give them an error of "SSO logon not possible, browser logon ticket not accepted" and also causes a runtime error: dynpro_send_in_background.
    To circumvent this, we are trying to make the links open a new IE window for the logon pad.
    ANY help will be appreciated and will be rewarded with points.

    I think this cannot be controlled from SAP, instead you need to see IE options.

  • JDev 10.1.3 Prod Bug in Structure Window when using PL/SQL and Stored Types

    Using JDev 10.1.3 build 3673
    When loading/editing a PL/SQL package with code like the following:
    rec := NEW Record001Row;
    Where Record001Row is a stored type on the database gives an "Error Expecting ;" in the JDev Structure Window. Once the above line is commented out, the PL/SQL program structure appears in the Structure Window. I can then uncomment the above line and the structure of the PL/SQL program stays, but the "Error Expecting ;" still appears.

  • Weird box on desk top from ICal Info Window when using Expose

    Whenever I use the info Window in iCal to enter some text in the Notes area, if I don't remember to click on the main window, or pretty much any other place in iCal afterward then when I use Expose to go to the desk top I end up with this wierd rectangle or square (composed of a thin white line) exactly the size of the text that I'd entered in the Notes section that is exactly the size of the text.
    Is there any fix for this? Tiger is so appealing to the eye over all, one of the things I love about Mac, and that seems like a weird, ugly little glitch.
    Thanks in advance for the help.

    No, but I tried what you were saying and then yes, I see the little box that was around what I was typing in Notes is still on the desktop when I hit the F11 key. Cheers!
