Extracting doc number information from dox saved in DMS

Hello,
I'm wanting to have a macro written that will put a document id into the
footer of saved documents when the appropriate button is pushed.
I know I can use the standard Word "Insert | Autotext | Header/Footer |
Filename or Filename and path but when I do that, I get something like
this:
::ODMAGRPWISEDOMAIN_AUS_DOM.POSTOFFICE_AUS_PO.Offi ce Administration:9055.1
whereas the powers-that-be want something like this:
OA:9055.1
and nothing else. (The "OA" bit is the short version of Office
Administration)
I have a developer who thinks he may be able to pull this together, but he
has posed this question:
Is there a way to retrieve the profile information from Groupwise for a
document that is currently open on screen?
Using GW7, SP2 on NetWare 6.5, SP6.
TIA,
Catherine

I think if you insert the filename with the option to include the path name,
you will get the ODMA string with the doc number at the end (assuming the
document has been saved and already has been assigned a doc number). Can
you parse that somehow? I did this a long time ago in WP but not Word.
Seems to me you should be able to record a macro to do that.

  • Extracting Business Partner information from CRM to XI

    What is the best approach to extract Business Partner information from CRM to XI

    Hi,
    by IDOCs of course
    you can create them just like I did:
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2006/11/14/xipi-data-type-enhancements-standard-business-partner
    (you jut need to change from proxy to ALE - another module)
    but bisically it's a standard to generate
    a business partner record and send it as an IDOC from CRM

  • Extract software product information from SLD

    Hi Colleagues,
    I am wondering how to extract software products information from SLD.
    I need application and version of the product. For example Sap NetWeaver version 7.11.
    I read the business systems:
    CIMInstancenameList businessSystems = client.enumerateInstanceNames(CIMNames.C_SAP_BusinessSystem);
    // get clients for Business Systems
                for (final Iterator<?> iterSystems = businessSystems.iterator(); iterSystems.hasNext();) {
                    final CIMInstancename system = (CIMInstancename) iterSystems.next();
                    final IBusinessSystemDto dto = new BusinessSystemDto();
                    list.add(dto);
                    dto.setName(CIMUtil.getKeyValueByName(system, CIMNames.P_NAME).getValue());
    How can I get product information about business systems.
    Do I have to get it from the system or from the client or there is another way.
    Thank you in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Dimitar

    Hi,
    Whatever business system you have registered in your central SLD, that information you can get it by logging to SLD.

  • Extract Single Tone Information from Hann Spectrum

    I need to examine the details of "Extract Single Tone Information from Hann Spectrum.vi" but i couldn't because it is password protected. How can i remove this password?Is it NIs strategy to set the password to some vi's?.Or is there any other function behaving like "Extract Single Tone Information from Hann Spectrum.vi" so that i can see inside?
    Regards.

    I have attached a Power-Point presentation from NI-Week 1999 that describes the algorithm concept and performances. Note that the function shipping with LabVIEW is more complex (and more accurate) than the one described, but I hope this will give you a good idea on how things are implemented.

  • Extract single channel information from file group

    Hello All,
    I want to perform a repeat operation on one channel of a large number of multi-channel files.
    As a simplified example lets say I want to calculate the max value in channel 1 for each file in a group. I then want to place these values in the row of a new channel in a new file. Has anyone a similar example file I could modify or suggestions on how to do this? I am working with TDMS files.
    Thanks
    Mark
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I had a very similar approach, so here's another example in case it helps.  This example loops through all files in a specified directory, and if the file is a TDMS file, it loads the first channel in the file and calculates the maximum value.
    DIM MyFiles, iCount, Channel
    CALL Data.Root.Clear()
    SET Channel = Data.Root.ChannelGroups.Add("Calculated Values").Channels.Add("Maximum",DataTypeFloat64)
    MyFiles = DirListGet("C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\DIAdem 2011\Examples\Data", "*.*", "filename", "FullFilenames")
    IF IsArray(MyFiles) THEN
    FOR iCount = LBound(MyFiles) to UBound(MyFiles)
    IF UCase(NameSplit(MyFiles(iCount),"E")) = "TDMS" THEN
    CALL DataFileLoadSel(MyFiles(iCount),,"[1]/[1]")
    Channel.Values(Channel.Size+1) = CCh("Calculated Values/[2]",2)
    CALL Data.Root.ChannelGroups("Calculated Values").Channels.Remove(2)
    END IF
    NEXT
    END IF
    If you can calculate the channel maximum value (or whatever property you're interested in tracking) during the acquisition and saving of the file, you should store that entity to a TDMS channel property.  This would allow you to run queries on the property across all of your files and then very quickly load the results as a channel into the Data Portal.
    I hope that helps...

  • What is the best way to extract all my information from my macbook pro?

    i wanna extract all my info, put it into an external hard drive and erase it from my mac.

    If you plan on buying a apple laptop you have two options. You can use time machine or pull the data off of it directly and put it onto the external. I advise the second choice. This way you do not have stuff that you dont need filling up the space on your new drive. Get your applications, music, documents, photos, videos and perhaps downloads and desktop; Put all of these on your external. And then reinstall osx onto your drive.
    *** If buying a windows machine next check the format of the drive in disk utility. You will need a program called Paragon NTFS to format the drive window compatibility. You have to pay for the free version but can download a trail version for free.

  • Extract iview / role information from PCD with ODBC

    Hi all,
    I'd like to report informations about existing iviews, roles and their dependencies by directly accessing the PCD (MS SQL).
    Accessing with MS Acces via ODBC is working fine, my problem is that I don't understand the db-structure and cannot find usefull informations about my portal objects.
    Where can I find an documentation about the PCD-structure?
    regards,
    Stefan

    Hi,
    There may not be any such documentation available online about DB tables structure to store PCD information.
    If we want to -  "look for PCD Objects directly using SQL without APIs" - then we can check for tables having pre-fix "EP". Specifically table named "EP_OBJECTS", it's referred as to been storing portal content in SAP Note: 918553.
    Alternatively may want to try checking SQL Trace of PCD requests as per SAP Note: 822257.
    PS: Above notes are for EP 6.0, however they would also be relevant to NW Portal 7.0. And below is a link for BP for NW 7.0 Portal Performances which also emphasizes that PCD DB tables start on pre-fix "EP".

    I hope above information would of some help.

  • MB1B transfer posting doesn't copy serial number information to delivery

    Hi all,
    we have a decentral warehouse setting and use MB1B for transfer postings. MB1B automatically creates the corresponding delivery which will be transmittedt to the external warehouse.
    Unfortunately the serial number from MB1B will not be copied into the delivery.
    Is there a configuration setting that I miss, or is there a User-Exit which could be used to copy the serial number information from transaction MB1B into the delivery?

  • Extract Signal Tone Information in Control & Simulation Loop

    Hi,
    I have a simple Block Diagram to try Control & Simulation Loop. I added a Sine Wave signal and a Waveform Chart connected to it. They work just fine.
    I tried to add a Extract Single Tone Information , from Signal Processing, and connect it to the output of the Sine Wave generator but I do not know how to create a proper Time Signal.
    I thought of storing the output of the Sine Wave in an array but I was unsuccessful since I could not add any shift register to this type of control loops.
    Any help or suggestions?
    Thanks

    Hi Siamak,
    Thanks for your reply mate.
    However, when I built a same BD as you posted on, it somehow didn't work. I also attached a photo of my BD here.  I used the gauge to measure when I run the programme. The gauge shows there is no signal output after the "collector"VI (gauge no.13). would you please check it for me? Many thanks!

  • Extracting information from a table based on different criteria

    Post Author: shineysideup
    CA Forum: Formula
    Hi Folks
    I have a bit of a strange one here.
    I need to extract information from a single table based on different critera.
    Sounds simple enough but here's the tricky part.
    This table is a table that contains the build of a product. All the parts that are used to make the product and also the sub-parts that are used to make the primary product parts.
    Example:
    I have a part that is in the product and the part no is 1111. This part is actually part of another part that is part no 1112
    What I need to do is display part no 1111 with all of its details but then also show that it is also part of part no 1112.
    The way the table holds this information is as follows.
    Seq_No      Parent_Seq_No     Part_No
    The seq_no is item no that is given to the part number. If the part is a member of another part then there is also a parent_seq_no.
    Everything needs to tie back to the seq_no and the parent_seq no as the part itself can be used in a parent or it can be used on its own. This way you can actually have the same part appearing in the list several times but the seq_no will be different for each one. If the part can be used in two different sub-builds (with each part being used twice in each sub-build) and also on its own once then you would have 5 different seq_nos two parent_seq_nos.
    What I need to do is to list all of the parts but then also when a part is part of a parent_seq_no I need to be able to display the parent seqno but also the part_no for that as the parent would also be listed as an individual item in the part list.
    At the moment listing the part_no, seq_no and parent_seq_no is easy but when I try to list the part_no for the parent I jsut keep getting the original sub part again. I can do this with a sub-report but with what I need to do with the data after listing the parts a sub-report is not an option for me.
    This make sense?
    Thanks

    As long as the chain only goes one link deep, you should be able to Alias the table and link it (left outer)  from the child part to the parent part.  Then build a Detail B (or Group Footer if that's where you're printing) and conditionally suppress is if there is no "Parent Part".
