EXTRACTING XML AND DATE FORMAT

Hello,
I want to extract data from XML using the following syntax.
But I don't get why I get ORA-01830 exception while extracting DATE in YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS format.
Can you help me ?

If your date string doesn't conform to the supported formats, use a VARCHAR2 datatype and an explicit TO_DATE in the SELECT :
SQL> select to_date(e.my_date, 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS') as my_date
  2  from xmltable(
  3        '/root'
  4        passing xmltype('<root><my_date>2012-04-05 14:35:20</my_date></root>')
  5        columns
  6          my_date varchar2(30) path 'my_date'
  7       ) e ;
MY_DATE

  • In the advanced tab of languages and Region the time and date formats will not change

For a certian Application I am using I need to change the format of the Time and Date. I had no problems in Mountain Lion. In the advanced tab of languages and Region the time and date formats will not change. I need the date format to read as 01/01/14 and time format to read 13:00. As I said this was easily done in Mountain Lion and all previous Apple OS. I suspect it's an issue with in the OS.

You're right, it has been that way for a long time. I've never bothered reporting it as a bug since it's simple enough to deal with, but reporting it would be a reasonable thing to do.

  • BestPractices Error - Set Decimal Notation and Date Format

    Hello everyone,
first of all, I don't know, if this is the right forum for my question, but I hope so
We're trying to implement the Best Practices Scenarios to a new SAP ERP System.
We did the steps of the following url, where everything worked fine: http://help.sap.com/bp_dm603/DM_DE/html/index_DE.htm
Then we integrated Best Practices 603V8 via Solution Builder (TA: /n/SMB/BBI). But now, when we switch to Implementation Assistant and try to activate Scenario DE_109 --> 100(DE) --> Folder USERSETTINGS, we receive the following error in report /SMB99/SU3_O009_B32: Set Decimal Notation and Date Format.
So we called transaction SU3 and changed Decimal Notation and Date Format, but the error still exists.
    Anybody knows what to do?
    Thanks for your help!
    Best regards
    Patrick
PS: We executed Testscript /SMB99/SU3_C009_B32 via TA SECATT and there is the error:

In several days (in the 19th) i will lecture at
SQLSaturday #360 and my last demo (hopefully I will have the time) is
Full implementation of JSON, I will show several function using JSON serializer and deserializer, and as mentioned full implementation including fast
indexes on JSON column (finding specific Node in 10 million rows
in less then a second). If you want to wait, then I will publish it latter probably, or you can come the lecture if you want :-)
    * I am using Json.NET framework, by the way.
regarding your question, all you need is to find a nice serializer/deserializer framework (you can use
Json.NET framework) in order to do what you are looking for (if I understand what you asked)

  • List all of the existing column and there column format and data format?

    Hello Gurus,
I am new to OBIEE and i have a requirement to verify the column format and data format for all of the existing column while generating a analysis report. Is there any way i can list down all of the columns which are exposed and list there column format and data format?
For checking the individual column properties i know there is an option called 'Column Properties' but want to know all in once go.
Kindly help me and thanks in advance.
    Thanks

I don't think you have anything in answers to get that, Go to Repository and Utilities -> Generate Metadata Dictionary that will give columns and datatype.

  • Converting from PDF directly to Java Objects/XML (and PDF format questions)

    Hi,
I posted this originally in the Acrobat Windows forums but was told I might have more luck here, so here goes:
I am desperately trying to find a tool (preferably open source but commercial is fine also) that will sit on top of a PDF and allow me to query it's text for content and formatting (I don't care about images). I have found some tools that get me part of the way there, but nothing that seems to provide an end-to-end solution but is quite lightweight. My main question is WHY are there so many tools that go from PDF to RTF, and many tools that go from RTF to XML, but NONE that I can find that go PDF to XML.
To clarify, by formatting I simply mean whether a line/block of text is bold/italic, and its font size. I am not concerned with exact position on the page. The background is that I will be searching PDFs and assigning importance to whether text is a heading/bodytext etc. We already have a search tool in place so implementing a pure PDF search engine is not an option. I need a lightweight tool that simply allows me to either make calls directly to the PDF OR converts to XML which I can parse.
    Some tools I have tried:
    1) PDFBox (Java Library) - Allows the extraction of text content easily, but doesn't seem to have good support for formatting.
    2) JPedal (Java Library) - Allows extraction of text content easily, and supports formatting IF XML structured data is in the PDF (not the case for my data).
    3)  Nitro PDF (Tool) + RTF to XML (script) - This works quite nicely and shows that PDF to XML is possible, but why do I have to use 2 tools? Also, these are not libraries I can integrate into my app.
    4) iText (Java Library) - Seems great at creating PDFs but poor at extracting content.
I don't really expect someone to give me a perfect solution (although that would be nice!).
Instead, what I'd like to know is WHY tools support PDF to RTF/Word/whatever retaining formatting, and other tools support RTF to XML with the formatting information retained. What is it about PDF and RTF/Word that makes it feasible to convert that way, but not to XML. Also, as I found in 3) above, it is perfectly feasible to end up as XML from PDF, so why do no tools support this reliably!
Many thanks for any advice from PDF gurus.

XML doesn't mean anything - it's just a generic concept for structuring
information.  You need a specific GRAMMAR of XML to mean anything.  So what
grammar would you use?  Something standard?  Make up your own?
However, there are a number of commercial and open source products that can
convert PDF to various XML grammars - SVG, ABW, and various custom grammars.
But the other thing you need to understand is that most PDF files do not
have any structure associated with them (as you saw when using JPEDAL).  As
such, any concepts of paragraphs/sections/tables/etc. Are WILD GUESSES by
    the software in question.

  • Email Submit and Data format

    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/livecycle/articles/lc_understanding_submit_tip.pdf
Is there a way to customize the data format using a submit button?
I may have the requirement to have end users submit data through an email submit button, but the client wants the data in the format Fieldname [delimiter of some sort] Fieldvalue, is this possible?  Would you need to manually edit the xml in the form to do this? Any pointers would be appreciated.
The only options I see in the attributes of the email submit button are:
    XDP
    XML
    PDF
    URL encoded data
    Thank you,

    Hi Paul:
Currently we are using Acroforms and would use these forms originally.
In the future, this would be used with LiveCycle so it would probably be an XFA/LiveCycle Designer form. I believe in this case, the best solution would be to do this through a submit using Form Server components of LCES.

  • SSIS XML task date format issue

    Hi, there;
I created an SSIS package XML task to import customer XML data.     The LocaleID is set to "New Zealand"
I have an xml file which has date fields as attribute (dd/MM/yyyy). I created this package and run it in an .NET console program.
The interesting thing is that: when I run under my own windows account, I can import data into SQL properly (dd/MM/yyyy), but when I run it as scheduled task (under another special windows account) it gives America format (MM/dd/yyyy).
What I found is that my personal account in AD is set to New Zealand, the special windows account given by the infrastructure engineer
is set to "default"  which is American user.
So, my question is that is there any way/something we can set in the package or
XSD somewhere to tell SSIS what the source date format is rather then controlled by the "AD account"?. The reason is that imagine that
if I have 2 XML files from different clients, one is New Zealand date format(dd/MM/yyyy), another one is American date format (MM/dd/yyyy), I want same package (NOT same XML task) to import 2 XML files with result in New Zealand format.
       Thank you in advance.
    Cheers
    Robert
    qiuwei

    Hi Robert,
Based on your description, there are two scenarios:
You want to format the XML file column date with dd/MM/yyyy or MM/dd/yyyy format to dd/MM/yyyy. In this scenario, we can use Derived Column Transformation to convert the MM/dd/yyyy format to dd/MM/yyyy format for the American XML task, then use the new
column maps to the corresponding Destination column. The following expression is for your reference:
    LEFT(RIGHT(Column,7),2) + "/" + LEFT(Column,2)+"/"+ RIGHT(Column,4)
The XML file data already import to SQL table, different country people view the data with different date format. Please note that a datetime column is stored as binary in database, the display format is related to the SSMS server. For more details, please
    see the following KB:
INF: How to Set the Day/Month/Year Date Format in SQL Server

  • XML FORMS - Date Format

    Hi,
I have a problem that I am sure is just config, but when opening any xmlforms and displaying they only appear with american date format.
Has anyone changed this format, from what appears the standard?
Will award points for any help.
    Thanks
    Kai Chalker

    Hi Kai,
You can create a custom property in KM and assign a different date format to it.
Then if u use that in your XML Forms, probably u can get the new date format.
In the Additional Metadata row of the KM Property u can enter
    customFormat=dd-MMM-yyyy

    FROM program_details AS a
    LEFT JOIN program_details AS b
    on a. customer_id = b. customer_id
    AND EXTRACT (MONTH FROM a.report_date) = EXTRACT (MONTH FROM b.report_date) - 1
AND EXTRACT (YEAR FROM a.report_date) = EXTRACT (YEAR FROM b.rpt_date )
    WHERE a.code_status = 'Gold' and b.code_status = 'Plat'
    AND a.report_date >= '2007-12-01 00:00:00.0'
    AND a.report_date < '2009-01-01 00:00:00.0'
I have a table with customer id, yyyy-mm-dd for many years , and status as gold silver or platinum. and I need to work out the month that the status changed, and return a field as year-month.
I am trying to extract the year and date that a customer changed from gold to plat but I am not sure how date arithmetic works. I need to have output like : customer_id and year-month but I keep just getting month.
I know this is vague, but if you could help with the part of the query that delivers year and month back that would be great.
    Thank you very much

    Hi,
      1  SELECT a.customer_id, to_char(a.report_date, 'yyyy-mm') as change_date
