f:ajax render outside form problem

Hello,
I have a problem with Ajax partial rendering. My (simplified) situation is as follows:
Code (in one xhtml page):
<h:body>
<h:form>
<f:ajax render=":content" listener="#{myListener.update}">
<cu:menu value="#{customBackingBean.value}"/>
</f:ajax>
</h:form>
<h:form id="content">
<h:outputText value="#{myBean.value}"/h>
</h:form>
</h:body>
Flow (how I want it):
1. <cu:menu> component renders an html link like: Click
2. Clicking on this link should first call the ajax listener #{myListener.update}. This listeners changes the value of '#{myBean.value}'.
3. Now the component with id 'content' should be re-rendered and show the updated value of '#{myBean.value}'
However, in reality step 2 and 3 are switched, so first the rendering is done, then the listener is called. So only after the second click I see a content change.
Any ideas how to handle this?
Update:*
I changed the code a little bit because I had a feeling that the behavior is because of the fact that I want to render something outside of the form.
Code (in one xhtml page):
<h:body>
<h:form>
<f:ajax render="test :content" listener="#{myListener.update}">
<cu:menu value="#{customBackingBean.value}"/>
</f:ajax>
<h:outputText id="test" value="#{myBean.value}"/h>
</h:form>
<h:form id="content">
<h:outputText value="#{myBean.value}"/h>
</h:form>
</h:body>
Now I added a similar <h:outputtext> component within the ajax form, which uses the same EL value #{myBean.value}. When I now click on a link (generated by the <cu:menu> component the outputtext within the same form is rendered after the listener is called and therefor immediately reflects the change of the value while the outputtext component outside of the form is rendered before the listener is called, and therefore it still shows the previous value.

Generally, when you use ajax you don't need the <h:commandButton> anymore. The commandButton still does what it does even when you add an ajax tag to it.
Try adding an ajax tag to your <h:inputText> elements with the valueChange event attribute, and render="o1" like you have it. You should see the outputText update the way you expect.

  • Smart Form problem with address layout

    Hello everyone,
    I need your help please for a smart form problem. We need the address layout for great britain with street1, street2 etc. but currently street2 is alligned before street1.
    We are using the FM ADDRESS_INTO_PRINTFORM (SAP standard address node) and according to the documenation the layout for GB is different as we see it currently.
    We have checked the sold-to and all contact persons, they have as country GB and language EN maintained.
    In customizing for address screen layout there is nothing chosen (tested to set up Europe, but did not change anything).
    For the customizing 'specify my countries...' we have maintained GB as country with the address layout key 006, vehicle country key GB and language key EN.
    For the described setting shouldn't there be designed the address in our smart forms according to 006? Anyhting in customizing we missed?
    Thanks a lot for your answers.
    Torsten

    Hi,
    Try to use line priority of FM, below is a brief of documentation. You can read it more in FM documentation:
    Control Parameters
    See also the parameter documentation.
    ADDRESS_TYPE - Address type (from 3.0C)
    There are three types of address:
    Address type '1': addresses of firms or organizations; the address
    structure which is used in most SAP applications as 'Address'.
    Address type '2': address of a person
    Address type '3': work address, usually the address of a contact person
    in a company
    The default value SPACE for the address type is handled like type '1',
    and is needed for the upwards-compatibility of the function module.
    Which parameters are used for which address type is explained in the
    ADDRESS_TYPE parameter documentation.
    The three character "address layout key" of the recipient country (LAND1) controls which of the available country-specific routines is used to format addresses for the country in question. This key is stored in field T005-ADDRS and is entered in Customizing under Global settings -> Set countries -> Define countries, on the detail screen under "Address layout key".
    Keys for customer routines in the SAP enhancement SZAD0001 can be
    maintained via the transaction SM30 (extended table maintenance),table
    name T005A, in the customer name range, and be assigned in country customizing.
    The address attributes are passed in the structures ADDRESS1 (type 1), ADDRESS2 (type 2), ADDRESS3 (type 3) or ADRSWA_IN (type SPACE).
    NUMBER_OF_LINES (ADRSWA_IN-ANZZL)
    The number of lines available for the address layout. If the number of
    lines is not sufficient for the complete layout of an address, then
    lines are consecutively suppressed according to the rules of the country in question. Use the parameter LINE_PRIORITY (ADRSWA_IN-PRIOR) overrules the standard sequence in which the output lines are to be suppressed.
    LINE_PRIORITY (ADRSWA_IN-PRIOR)
    If not equal to SPACE, this field overwrites the standard sequence in
    which the lines are suppressed if the available number of lines ANZZL is
    insufficient.
    The standard sequence is defined as follows:
    Type 1:   'AP43HRT7I86LC2BS5O'       (GB:  'APRT4327I86CBS5LO')
    Type 2:   'APHRT7I86LCBS5O'          (GB:  'PRT7I86CBS5LO')
    Type 3:   'APF43HR7I86TLC2BSND5O'    (GB:  'APRT4327I86CBS5LNDIO')
    where (if they occupy a line of their own):
    A = Title
    P = Mandatory empty line 1
    F = Function of the contact person in the company
    4 = Name 4
    3 = Name 3
    H = Different city
    R = Region
    T = District
    L = Name of country
    C = Postal code
    T = District
    7 = Street 3 (field STR_SUPPL2)
    I = Street 5 (field LOCATION)
    8 = Street 4 (field STR_SUPPL3)
    6 = Street 2 (field STR_SUPPL1)
    L = Country
    C = Postal code
    2 = Name 2
    B = PO Box
    S = Street or PO Box
    5 = c/o name
    N = Name (and title) of a person
    D = Department
    O = City
    Which of these attributes are available for maintenance can vary. All
    fields exist in Business Address Services.
    STREET_HAS_PRIORITY (ADRSWA_IN-WAREN)
    'X': Street has priority over PO Box (delivery address for example)
    ' ': PO Box has priority over street. This is the default value.

  • Muse CC 2014 contact web forms problems

    Hi I recently created a website using muse cc 2014 and I uploaded it to the hosting server a free one at freehosting.com I set up everything I know of and when I uploaded the site using muse it gave a error message saying something about PHP mail??? I setup the mail account for my admin user and entered that in the muse contact form. If I test the contact form I do not get the messages and I even added a email to have it forwarded to my yahoo account. If I go in my email account and enter the hosting email account I however do see the message on the server's webmail page and it gets forwarded to the email I set to be the forward email. I checked everything and I'm really confused as what needs to be done. I also submitted a ticket asking customer service they have yet to respond. To note I'm using a free hosting company as it's just a personal website that I don't need all the fancy stuff just the basic needed components to make it work. my website does show up and the pages work EXCEPT the contact form which is needed and important. I ran the script and this is the results
    PHP Version - OK
    mail configured incorrectly
    SQL configuration problem
    The last two  items I really don't understand what is the problem
    Im using Cpanel and here is some basic info on the  host server. Please help me. Thanks

    What would be the fix or proper setup for the "SQL configuration problem?" I too am having form problems on a third party host, and after checking the PHP diagnostics, the "php version" reads ok, the "mail configuration" is ok, but the SQL configuration is not.
    I guess I just need to know what I need to communicate to the hosting administrator about the SQL so they will configure it properly.

  • Form Server Render Form Problem

    Hi,
    I want to create multiple instances of a table row inside the workflow, so I wrote a script inside the form:ready event of my table row. The script adds new instances using the NumberOfRows variable which stands in my xml schema and I set it inside the workflow using setvalue qpac. After these, I am using the form server render qpac to be able to run the script and have multiple rows in the form before it reaches to any user.
    There is no problem untill here. Everything goes well and I successed all. However, when I try to fill in one of the rows that I have newly created, I get a stalled action :) and many error message.
    I used this expression in setvalue qpac to set newly created row :
    /process_data/formvar/form-data/data/xdp/datasets/data/SATalepFormu/DetayliAciklama/UrunBi lgileri[2]/Urun
    This is the error :

    Hi Guvenc
    The SetValue QPAC does not allow you to use predicates (i.e. square brackets) on the left hand side of an assignment.
    In other words:
    /process_data/@myvalue = /process_data/myxml/root/repeat[3]/name
    is okay, but
    /process_data/myxml/root/repeat[3]/name = /process_data/@myvalue
    is not okay.
    There are actually some good reasons for this behaviour - Xpath is a way of retrieving data, not creating it - this is actually very unfortunate, because it would be very helpful, as you've found. (There are some interesting technical problems around using XPath to create xml, such as: what should it do if /repeat[1] and repeat[2] don't exist?)
    One way to work around this is to create the entire xml document in a string or XML variable, and then assign the entire thing to the root node of your form. You may have to mess with the syntax a bit (I haven't verified that this expression is exactly correct), but it would be something like:
    /process_data/formvar/form-data/data/xdp/datasets/data =
    deserialize(/process_data/@xml_as_a_string)
    We have a SetText QPAC which makes it a little easier to construct a large xml file as a string like this (with embedded xpath expressions), but you can also create it by using SetValue and the Xpath concatenate() function.
    You can downlaod SetText from:
    http://www.avoka.com/avoka/qpac_library.shtml
    Depending what you're trying to do, you could also write a custom QPAC (once you have a DOM, you can do whatever you need to), or we would be happy to write one for you.
    Good luck...

  • Problem with ajax in tabular form

    Hi
    I am trying a tabular form which contains two select list. Second select list is to populate according to the value of first select list. I have tried in following ways:
    First I have create an application item named ITEM_AJAX and an application process named PROC_AJAX as follows
    declare
    begin
    owa_util.mime_header('text/xml', FALSE );
    htp.p('Cache-Control: no-cache');
    htp.p('Pragma: no-cache');
    owa_util.http_header_close;
    htp.prn('<data>');
    htp.prn('<select>');
    for rec in (SELECT '-Select-' d, -1 r FROM DUAL
    UNION ALL SELECT SEL_B_NAME d, SEL_B_ID r FROM
    SEL_B WHERE SEL_A_ID = :ITEM_AJAX)
    loop
      htp.prn('<option value="' || rec.r || '">' ||
    rec.d || '</option>');
    end loop;
    htp.prn('</select>');
    htp.prn('</data>');
    end;
    Then write following javascript code and placed it in page HTML header
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function updateSELB(filter, listName){
    var xml = null;
    var list = document.getElementById(listName);
    var listvalue = list.value;

    ret = get.get('XML');
    if(ret){
      var s = ret.getElementsByTagName("select");

       list.options.length = 0;
       for(var i = 0; i < oCount; i++){
        var l_Opt_Xml = o[i];
    appendToSelect(list, l_Opt_Xml.getAttribute('value'), l_Opt_Xml.firstChild.nodeValue)
    list.value = listvalue;
    if (list.selectedIndex == -1)
      list.selectedIndex = 0;
    get = null;
    function appendToSelect(pSelect, pValue, pContent) {
    var l_Opt = document.createElement("option");
    l_Opt.value = pValue;
    if(document.all)
    pSelect.options.add(l_Opt);
      l_Opt.innerText = pContent;
    } else {
      l_Opt.appendChild(document.createTextNode(pContent));
      pSelect.appendChild(l_Opt);

    var s = filter.id;
    var item = s.substring(3,8);
    var field3 = list3 + item;
    updateSELB(filter, field3);

  • Postback on Ajax render on JSF 2.0

    Hallo everyone,
    I have a .xhtml page divided in several h:form and I am trying to use the Ajax feature to refresh just some part of the page following user clicks without navigation in other pages.
    The problem is that for example the first click on a button in one of these forms is not recognized as a Postback so the 2-5 Phases are skipped (I logged the LifeCycle).
    The second click on that form then works well. BUT it will need two clicks on another form to have again a Postback.
    I am having this problem both using f:ajax tag either jsf.ajax.request script.
    Do I have to use a huge h:form containing all my elements? Or can I have force a postback trough a PhaseListener? How?
    Please help,
    Christian

    First of all thanks for the reply.
    I am already using the tag with different render forms as:
    <h:form id="form1" >
    <h:commandButton id="idButton1" image="/images/myImage1.png" actionListener="#{BeanJSF.doAction}" >
    <f:attribute name="paramID" value="#{BeanJSF.currentResultsData.rowData.recordID}"/>
    <f:ajax execute="@form" render="@form :form2" />
    </h:commandButton>
    <h:outputText value="BeanJSF.someResult" />
    </h:form>
    <h:form id="form2" >
    <h:commandButton id="idButton2" image="/images/myImage2.png" actionListener="#{BeanJSF.doOtherAction}" >
    <f:attribute name="paramID" value="#{BeanJSF.currentResultsData.rowData.recordID}"/>
    <f:ajax execute="@form" render="@form :form1" />
    </h:commandButton>
    <h:outputText value="BeanJSF.someOtherResult" />
    </h:form>
    My problem is that the first submit of one form is not a Postback (from the Lifecycle point of view) so just the second click goes trough the 2-5 phases.
    Do you have any ideas?
    Christian

  • Unable to render dynamic forms in Adobe Reader 11.0.2.0 for Firefox

    Hi,
    I had just upgraded my browser's (Firefox) Adobe Reader plugin to the latest version , 11.0.2.0 and it seems that it is unable to render DYNAMIC PDF forms created by Adobe Livecycle after this. However STATIC forms are okay.
    Is there anyone facing the same problem? Is Adobe aware of this?
    Thanks.

    Hi Pat,
    Yes I was using Firefox 19 indeed. This certainly fixed it.
    Thanks for the help!

  • Render html form & send forms's input values as params via HTTP POST

    Hello,
    I'm using appache commons http client to send HTTP post queries to a given url and receive HTTP response then process it.
    one of the requirements of my Application is the following: one of these HTTP Post requests is supposed to return an HTML form with different html types (text filed, text area etc..) that i will need to display in my swing application. one important requirement is that i can't know in advance what the html form field types will be.. it depends on a given parameters that my application send as part of HTTP Post method (using apache http client).
    I Longly searched for a simple solution to this problem . There are many solutions but each one has it's limitations :
    1-i can render the html form inside a JEditorPane .but how can I collect the user entered data inside JEditorPane ? i'm not sure this swing component offers the capability to detect its html contents and more it will be difficult to know what are the values entered by user inside html form rendered by JEditorPane.
    2-are there any Java Embedded browsers that offer some API to enable me detect the html form fields ,capture the data entered by user inside the html form ?
    3-the solution i currently opted for is : parse html & convert html form to swing dialog. currently this solution i use works well but the cost of implementing it is high : it involves difficult parsing logic. this makes me worried .I'm not sure if i'm now using the right & easiest solution.
    I need some advice on What is the simplest and clean solution to render a html form & yet be able to collect user entered inputs & send the user input values as params via java HTTP POST request ?

    dragzul wrote:
    In my opinion, your actual solution is what you need to do. You're trying to "merge" two different kinds of view. Actually, the "easiest" way may be: if you have your data to display, you decide to show it on html or swing.Yes i believe that my current solution may be the unique one for my special requirements. when doing research about this problem i found a multitude of java libraries to convert xml to swing (ex: www.swixml.org) .However i was surprised there are no java libraries to convert HTML forms to swing dialogs -as far as i know-. this is a bit strange. The Limitation is that the developers of the server API are not Java guys and are reluctant to use an xml format that i can easily convert to swing . probably they have their own reasons as they might be using the HTML Response for some other server side work. So I was obliged to deal with an HTML stream that i need to display in my client application and process its data. in my opinion the only way to do this is by developing a HTML form to swing converter package. that's what i did now. i was only worried if i'm complicating things and if there are some easier solutions to this issue.

  • ColdFusion.Ajax.submitForm error handler problem with AppleWebKit-based browsers

    All-
    When using an AppleWebKit-based browser (i.e. Safari or
    Chrome), the
    message argument of the Coldfusion.Ajax.submitForm error
    handler always contains the string "OK", regardless of what error
    was cfthrown by my CFM form handler.
    Recall that the signature for the error handler is this:
    MyFormErrorHandler = function( code, message )
    In other browsers (i.e. IE or Firefox), the
    message argument of the error handler properly contains the
    message that was cfthrown by my form handler.
    Can anyone offer any guidance for this problem? Thanks in
    advance for your help.
    -Josh

    I was testing on IE8, Windows7 Starter.  I don't have IE6 available to test on.  Can test on IE7 a bit later on, but I have to fart-arse around with a VM to get it ready, so I'll do that after work.
    I tested multiple submits both via clicking between the tabs within one main "request" as well as multiple entire requests (like via refreshing the whole browser window).  I had no problems.
    I think you're being quite optimistic ot expect AJAX stuff to work reliably on IE6.  IE6 crashes.  That's what it's most famous for doing.  One needs to expect crashes if one pushes it (push it anywhere than out the window, that is).  And your client company's IT dept should be lined up against a wall and shot for still running it.  That's professionally negligent IMO.  But... you probably don't need to be told that.

  • AJAX with tabular form

    Hi,
    Can anyone help me ..
    I need to implement the AJAX with select list in a tabular form but I am not able do it . It is possible to do it in a normal form , but while implementing the same thing in a tabular form i am getting error (here it uses 2 dimensional arrays to identify a cell).
    The problem is I am not able to get the value from the select list .
    Can anyone help me..
    My application is "http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=23480:6" . The thing I need is when I select the 'Product name' corresponding 'List price need to be displayed.
    Thanks

    ==============================================
    <script language="JavaScript1.1" type="text/javascript">

  • Calling applet methods in forms - Problem

    I have an applet method wich creates a modal dialogue to retrieve user pin. This method is called from a form button. When the user is finished entering PIN, and the dialogue is supposed to close, it hangs. When using a button in an applet frame, this works fine, but apparently it doesent when I use my form button. Anybody have a workaround or solution to my problem?

    i guess the problem is that you can't do anything in the applet outside the dialog if it is modal and visible.
    Propably you should not make your dialog modal and just let it set a boolean variable when it is finished and keep the rest of the applet waiting for an answer with domething like:
    while(dialogstillopen)
    boolean dummy=false;

  • Open form - close form problem

    Hi. Using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3., ADF BC.
    Simple, yet not so simple problem: I have two forms, Main and Detail (JFrame). Main form has menu item which I use to open Detail form:
    try {
    FormDetail frmDetail = new FormDetail();
    frmDetail.setBindingContext(panelBinding.getBindingContext());
    // center jframe, visible = true
    showNewForm(frmDetail);
    } catch (Exception ex) {
    ex.printStackTrace();
    } finally {
    I want to create new instance every time I show Detail form. But I have problem closing detail form. Here is Detail constructor:
    public FormDetail() {
    addWindowListener(new WindowAdapter() {
    public void windowClosing(WindowEvent e) {
    dispose();
    Here are actions:
    1) start Main form
    2) open Detail form
    3) close Detail form
    4) try to open Detail form - oracle.jbo.JboException 35001.
    I've read about this error, but I don't know how to avoid it.
    I cannot accept that I always have to use setVisible(true) and setVisible(false) on all my forms. There has to be a way to dispose of detail forms, and re-create them. Can someone please help?
    Also, read article on Re: ADF-JClient bug
    No solution there

    I have looked at it before. I am not working with MDI forms, so I cannot apply this.
    I found this article which could solve my problem, but I don't know how is "thedude" creating that Abstract class he was talking about...
    Link: Re: how to release panelbinding correctly?
    As I understood, I should release panel binding before I can release the form...
    Default behavior of detail form's window listener is Exit(0). I want to reinstantiate form every time I open it.

  • Report 9i parameter form problem, is it a bug?

    Hi all,
    I am using Dev 9i IDS, rel. 9.0.2, running in windows 2000. I've been converting my forms and reports from previous versions to 9i, and I came across an issue with the report's parameter form.
    First, I thought it could be a problem during the conversion , but to make sure I developed a new form and a new report straight in the 9i IDS suite, using Scott's DEPT table. The new form is simple having a button to call the new report which is based on the DEPT table and accepts an user's input for a dept. no.
    The same problem occurs:
    - in the form, if I set PARAMFORM=HTML then it could not open the report parameter form, hence the report could not run.
    - if I set PARAMFORM=YES, then the report parameter form is displayed, then I can enter a value for the department number. BUT, when I clicked the Submit Query button the report failed, and I received the following error:
    REP-52007: Parameter form format error.
    java.lang.IllegalStateException: Response is already committed!

    I have no problem integrating others reports that don't have parameter form using run_report_object. And, I've checked and tried different ways of manipulating the parameter value using to_number in the report's where clause etc., it never worked.
    I guess the only workaround is to create the parameter form in Forms builder. Is there other ways of doing it , or is it a bug of the 9i IDS suites that needs to be fixed?
    - Thanks

    Hi Frank,
    There's a note published on Metalink, note 139546.1, showing a workaround to thi problem. but
    - it is rather lengthy and confusing, may not be practical .
    - it only applies to Forms and Reports 6i.
    However, it shows that the problem comes from 2 items in the source code of the parameter form which is produced by the RUN_REPORT_OBJECT built-in:
    1. <form method=post action=""> where action contains an empty string, it needs to have a valid entry, e.g.
    <form method=post action="http://hostname:port/cgi/rwci60.exe?">
    2. <input name="hidden_run_parameters" type=hidden value=""> where hidden value is also empty. It should contains all parameter values passed to the report parameter form, e.g.
    <input name="hidden_run_parameters" type=hidden value="report%3test+destype%3Dcache+userid%Dscott.....">
    And that is what I found, but I am reluctant to try it in 9i IDS, hoping Oracle has a better solution than that.
    Tho.

  • CALLING A REPORT FROM FORMS (PROBLEM)

    MY PROBLEM IS THE NEXT:
    I CREATED A MASTER-DETAIL REPORT CALLING 'ASUNTOS'WITH THE NEXT QUERY:
    SELECT ABOGADOS.APELLIDO_P,ABOGADOS.APELLIDO_M,ABOGADOS.NOMBRES,
    ASUNTOS.EXP_INT,ASUNTOS.MATERIA,ASUNTOS.GERENCIA,
    ASUNTOS.EMPRESA,ASUNTOS.RECLAMA,ASUNTOS.PESOS,
    ASUNTOS.DOLARES
    FROM ABOGADOS,ASUNTOS
    WHERE ABOGADOS.FICHA = ASUNTOS.F_ABOG
    AND ASUNTOS.F_ABOG = :ABOGADO ;
    -- ABOGADO = PARAMETER.
    THIS REPORT WORKS FINE THE PROBLEM IS WHEN I TRY CALL THIS REPORT FROM FORM I'VE USE A BUTTON(WHEN_BUTTON_PRESSED) WITH THE NEXT CODE:
    DECLARE
    LISTA PARAMLIST := GET_PARAMETER_LIST('ABOG');
    BEGIN
    IF ID_NULL(LISTA) THEN
    LISTA := CREATE_PARAMETER_LIST('ABOG');
    ADD_PARAMETER(LISTA,'DESTYPE',TEXT_PARAMETER,'PRINTER');
    ADD_PARAMETER(LISTA,'DESNAME',TEXT_PARAMETER,'LPT2');
    ADD_PARAMETER(LISTA,'ABOGADO',TEXT_PARAMETER,TO_CHAR(:ASUNTOS.F_ABOG));
    -- ADD_PARAMETER(LISTA,'PARAMFORM',TEXT_PARAMETER,'YES');
    END IF;
    RUN_PRODUCT(REPORTS,'ASUNTOS',SYNCHRONOUS,RUNTIME,FILESYSTEM,LISTA,NULL);
    END;
    BUT THE REPORT NOTHING DISPLAY.
    THERE ARE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CODE IN THE BUTTON

    Roberto,
    Does your report work when it is not called from Forms?
    try the following:
    [TOOLS_HOME]\BIN\RWRUN60 module=ASUNTOS destype=screen userid=<username>/<password>@<tns> ABOGADO=<some_valid_code>
    where TOOLS_HOME is the directory where Reports is installed.
    I can see nothing wrong with your code.
    Maybe some error in the query?
    Also, I would check for the existence of multiple ASUNTOS report definitions. Maybe Forms is calling an older one.
    Hope this helps,
    Pedro das Neves
