F-Bus v4.1 VB6 API crash on opensession

I have an application that uses the Visual Basic (VB6) API to F-BUS.
When the install pack for v4.1 is installed the application crashes on open session.
I have tried the VB example project that is included in v4.1 pack and this does the same, clicking on open produces the Microsoft crash report.
Using the v4.0 pack, this operation works ok.
is it possible that the nifbstd.dll v4.1 has an error inside, or has broken compatibility with previous version? Perhaps that the API has changed and this is not yet updated in the documentation?
Any one else with the same issue?

Hi,
Let me clarify several things with you.
1. for ver 4.1, did you use the existed eample under folder of C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-FBUS\MS Visual Basic\example?
2. for ver 4.0, the same questions: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-FBUS\MS Visual Basic\example?
3. What kind of error message do you get?
I will try to reproduce your problem and see what I could find. Thanks.
Chris

    Hello,
    We're seeing this same issue in our environment was well. We have multiple users that have Acrobat Pro installed on their Windows 7 x64 workstations. The software crashes when copying and pasting data from one PDF, to the forms fields on another PDF.
    The crash dumps are here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/bwoc10yvsm0217p/AAB21pAkTbiJ9HCPHDCbNCQHa
    I have contact Adobe support via phone multiple times and they have not at all been helpful. Considering are a volume license customer with nearly 1500 instances of Acrobat Pro installed, I'd like to get some sort of assistance on this issue sooner, rather than later. Additional crash dumps and environment information can be provided, if needed.

  • VB6 applications crashes when calling C# dll's in production environment

    Hi All,
    I'm basically .NET developer, not much aware of VB language or VB visual Basic 6.0.
    We are trying to work out with VB application running/ using C# dll's. The scenario is like VB exe applications using C# dll's and C# dll's are referenced to VB application using .tlb file.
    In development environment(debug mode) the application looks fine and working as expected. But when the same code is put into production environment VB applications are crashing when pointing to C# method calls. We trying to know the reason but application
    is getting killed. The issue seems to be sporadic and not able to catch in MsgView(debug tool).
    In one more scenario, the VB application is loading C# form and getting data back to VB but when we repeat the same workflow again application is crashing either in 2nd attempt or 3rd attempt.
    Has anybody seen such issue? Any input is welcomed.
    Thanks,
    Shesh

  • Adober Reader 9.0: annots.api Crashes

    I tried deploying Adobe Reader 9.0 to several campus computer labs I manage. I am using roaming user profiles, but I don't have AppData redirected - it stays on the local hard drive.
    I discovered that while Reader 9 works OK for Administrators, it crashes at startup for people with just regular "User"-level privileges. This problem goes away if I remove the annots.api plugin file. Has anybody else seen this issue? I've gone back to Reader 8.1.2 in the meantime.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Service Bus Send/Receive - REST API

    I need to use the Azure Service Bus REST API for sending messages to Service Bus Topics. On the receiving side I'm using the Azure Service Bus SDK.

    This is a message.
    When reading the message body as message.GetBody<string> an error message is given  serialization exception.
    I already searched the web and found a possible solution:
    Stream stream = message.GetBody<Stream>();
    StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(stream);
    string str = reader.ReadToEnd();
    or as an alternative (instead of converting to string) converting the stream into an XmlDocument
    Are hese recommended ways to handle this issue?
    Thanks.

    @Serkant & Paolo: Thanks for the answers.
    The client I use is Postman (Chrome plug-in).
    The message below works fine, but as I mentioned on the server side (.NET with Azure Service Bus SDK/API) until now I used:
    Stream stream = message.GetBody<Stream>();
    StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(stream);
    string str = reader.ReadToEnd();
    But I'll now try with
    var body = msg.GetBody<string>(new DataContractSerializer(typeof(string)));

  • Exemples de code bus CAN avec l'API C

    Bonjour,

    NI-CAN 2.7.4 - PharLap, VxWorks, Windows 7 64-bit/7 32-bit/XP (SP3) 32-bit
    http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/3152/lang/en

  • Call API crash

    IGWFolderRights *gwFolderRights NULL;
    DIGWAddress *gwAddressD = NULL;
    status = gwFolderRights->get_Address(&gwAddressD);
    I call that sometime crash in windows vista, then I tried catch this exception as below, but didn's work, still crash at here. use try{} catch{} too.
    long int
    TryGetAddress(IGWFolderRights *gwFolderRights, DIGWAddress **gwAddressD)
    long int status;
    __try
    status = gwFolderRights->get_Address(gwAddressD);
    __except(1)
    status = -1;
    return status;
    Is there a problem? Thanks very much!

    Probably you are not using [DllImport] attribute correctly. Show the details about the C# part.
    Since the DLL is built wit /clr option, then a different approach is possible: create a managed class like this:
    public ref class MyClass
    public:
        static void Test()
    It does not require __declspec.
    In C#, add a reference to DLL, then call the function:
    “MyClass.Test()”. If it works, then add more code to Test, such as
    TestCheckVersion().

  • Peek and Lock with Offset for Service Bus Queue in REST API

    In .NET library, the QueueClient has an API
    QueueClient.Peek(Int64), which accept an offset for the queue as starting point.
    Does the REST api
    also can pass this parameter? I didn't find one.

    hi mmsz_jbn,
    Thanks for your posting!
    It seems that REST API Peek-Lock message don't support pass the SequenceNumber.
    http{s}://{serviceNamespace}.servicebus.windows.net/{queuePath}/messages/head
    http{s}://{serviceNamespace}.servicebus.windows.net/{topicPath}/subscriptions/{subscriptionName}/messages/head
    From the API structure, we don't see the sequence number as a parameter.
    But in unlock method, we can use this number:
    http{s}://{serviceNamespace}.servicebus.windows.net/{queuePath}/messages/{messageId|sequenceNumber}/{lockToken}
    I suggest you could submit a feature request in this page:

  • IPod Classic 120GB random crashes

    Hi,
    I have a iPod Classic 120GB that for the past year has been randomly crashing in the middle of playing songs. For a long time it was once in a while but then it became daily and now I can't even listen to a complete song.
    I've done several RESTORES and for the first 24hrs it seemed to fix the problem, but now it seems to be deteriorating. Any suggestions? Would it matter if the host sync computer is a PC or a Mac? Possible problem in the code of iTunes that when syncing would cause a problem? Could this be a sign that the HD is seriously deffective?
    Any insight or tricks to fix the problem is appreciated.
    much thanks

    My new 120gb classic survived a 7 hour bus ride on Saturday without crashing once, however I was watching videos for most of the trip.
    Over the weekend away I was using my small sound dock and again, no crashes what so ever.
    After picking up my car from the workshop (the reason for the trip away) I plugged the classic into my Alpine IDA-X100 stereo (first time using the USB cable on the X100, as opposed to the older style connector) and no crashes at all during a 6 hour drive home.
    And yet - after an hour of using the classic in the office with just headphones I've just had a crash.
    This confuses me further - if it was firmware I'd have thought I'd have had crashes when using the sound dock, or car as well.
    Have any of you who are also having crashes/skips seen this behaviour?

  • Indesign CS4 OSX crash, usually when opening

    Hi,
    I'm running with latest osx and Indesign patches (clean install), but this happening 3-4 times per hour: com.apple.launchd.peruser.503[133] ([0x0-0x5f05f].com.adobe.InDesign[1851]): Job appears to have crashed: Bus error
    I uploaded one crash report:
    http://pastebin.com/CYuf7rWi
    (I found a related know bug in 6.0.6 update release notes
    "Known issues include the following:
    Users are unable to hide InDesign CS4 using the cmd+h keyboard shortcut.
    InDesign CS4 may unexpectedly quit when using the Place, Save, Save As or Export commands using either the OS or Adobe dialog boxes.
    To address these issues, download Mac OS X Leopard v10.5.6 or later from Apple’s web site."
    but i have 10.6.8.)
    Thanks for your help!

    Sorry, been letting things slip by...
    That said, I have no idea why it's crashing, perhaps John will...
    Well, this one is weird. If there wans't any narrative, I would have thought that the eyedropper tool was being clicked (LButtonUp in frame 14) and then it was failing somehow related to reading/writing attributes from the eyedropper.
    It doesn't sound like that's what you're doing.
    CS4 is getting kind of old, you might think about upgrading. Or at least trying with the free trial to see if CS5.5 works better for you?
    Sorry I dont have anything better right now...

  • Random crashes with new 120gb classic

    Is anyone experiencing random crashes with the new iPod classic 120gb units?
    Every so often my unit just locks up and shows the Apple screen, only the screen is drawn in what looks like 4 colour mode, and badly drawn at that, requiring a hard reboot of the iPod to resume use (which sadly resets my smart playlists/playcounts by the looks of it).
    This sounds like the problems that plaged the earlier 160gb models, so I changed my settings to not include album art which I've read circumvents the problem, and this seemed fine for a few days but I just had another lock up so maybe not.

  • Deploying labview dll for vb6

    Hello,
    I have created a labview DLL that uses the modulation toolkit. The idea is to use this dll in a VB6 project and this on a PC that doesn't have anything installed from Labview, only visual basic 6.
    To test my DLL, i have created a VB6 test project on my development PC (with labview + modulation toolkit installed) which calls this DLL. On my development PC everything is working fine. The problem starts when I try to run this VB6 project on a PC without Labview. First, he asked for the labview runtime engine, so I installed this and restarted my VB6 project. But if I try to run my project VB6 automatically shuts down.
    How can I create a VB6 project on a blank PC that uses my labview DLL?
    Thanks

    Well, as you've already found out, you have to have the LabVIEW Run Time Engine installed on this other PC. This is an absolute requirement.
    Unfortunately, right now there's too many variables, so the only other answer I can give you is that you should try to narrow this problem down by creating a simplified LabVIEW DLL and try to call it in your VB6 on this other computer. To be honest, I'm not sure whether not having the deployment license for the Modulation Toolkit on this other machine would actually cause VB6 to crash. I did a search on this site and didn't find anything. Still, I would suggest trying it out with the Modulation Toolkit first,  Then work your way up until you find where it breaks.

  • CAN message availability

    I am currently writing an application (LV8.2) for battery pack testing. The application checks communication with a BMI, and communication to the battery is over CAN. I use two CAN cards on the test PC and the Channel API subVIs to read and write from and to the CAN-bus. Reading and writing happens at a specific rate and it works just fine.
    The problem I have, is that I can’t determine when a message is not present anymore.
    For example the BMI sends out a CAN message periodically that I read from the CAN bus. Suddenly the BMI crashes and stops to send out the message, but I wont recognize. Has one of you an idea for a method to determine the presence of a message?
    I know that’s a tough one, but thanks for your help…
    SDFlow

    Hi SDFlow,
    Three options come to mind:
    When using the Channel API with a sampled (periodic) read, you can use error out terminal to determine whether a new message has been received since the previous call to CAN Read.vi (or CAN Start.vi). If no message has been received, the warning code 3FF62009 hex is returned in error out. If a new message has been received, the success code 0 is returned in error out.
    You could use the Channel API with a timestamped read (mode Single-Chan Multi-Samp 1D Time & Dbl or Multi-Chan Multi-Samp 2D Time & Dbl) and have your code inspect the timestamps.
    You could use the Frame API and configure a CAN Object for receiving a frame (Communication Type: Receive Unsolicited) and specify the desired timeout as the 'Period' value of the configuration cluster. In the Receive Unsolicited mode, the 'Period' will be treated as a timeout and the ncReadObj.vi will return a timeout error if no frame of that particular ID was received in the given time.
    Note: The CAN Object is 'per-CAN ID'. Thus, if you are interested in monitoring multiple different frames with different IDs, you need to configure a CAN Object for each CAN ID.
