F:selectItems and List Managed Property

I am trying to use a managed property list-entries to initialize a List that an f:selectItems is bound to.
<f:selectItems value="#{RowsPerPage.rows}"/>
Here is the managed bean from faces-config
<managed-bean>
<managed-bean-name>RowsPerPage</managed-bean-name>
<managed-bean-class>com.stlouiscity.jsf.util.RowsPerPage</managed-bean-class>
<managed-bean-scope>none</managed-bean-scope>
<managed-property>
<property-name>rows</property-name>
<property-class>java.util.ArrayList</property-class>
<list-entries>
<value-class>java.lang.Integer</value-class>
<value>1</value>
<value>5</value>
<value>10</value>
<value>25</value>
<value>50</value>
<value>100</value>
</list-entries>
</managed-property>
</managed-bean>Here is the class
package com.stlouiscity.jsf.util;
import java.util.List;
public class RowsPerPage {
private List rows;
public RowsPerPage() {
public List getRows() {
return rows;
public void setRows(List rows) {
this.rows = rows;
}Here is the stack trace

Looks like I and BalusC interpreted your questions differently.
The way I have implemented this case is to have get and set methods for the selectedProperty in my bean.
I also have the change propertyChanged method that sets the session attribute whenever the user changes the selection.
public String getSelectedPropertyType() {
return this.selectedPropertyType;
public void setSelectedPropertyType(String selectedPropertyType) {
this.selectedPropertyType = selectedPropertyType;
HttpServletRequest request = getHttpRequest();
request.getSession().setAttribute("selectedPropertyType", selectedPropertyType);
public void propertyTypeSelectionChanged(ValueChangeEvent event) {
if (event.getNewValue() == null) return;
String newValue = (String) event.getNewValue();
setSelectedPropertyType(newValue);
}Whenever you need the currently selected property, you would just need to get the #(myBean.selectedProperty).
If you find a simpler solution than this, please let me know.

• Content Search Web Part and Managed Property

Do I have to have cross-site collection publishing feature turned on for the Content Search Web Part to show a managed property?
I have a list and a column in that list called Colors. I created a managed property out of the crawled property for Colors column. On a page within the same site-collection, I added a content search web part (displays items from the earlier list) and
trying to display the managed property for Colors to show up for each of the items. For some reason, Colors value is not being displayed for the items.
Any ideas?

Thanks, Peter, appreciated. Here is my problem:
I created a site column and added it to the list. Added an item that has a value for this site column. System automatically generated a crawled property for the site column and also a managed property. Do I still have to perform step # 5 from above?
Now when I go into the content search web part and change the query to use this managed property as a refiner, it does not work.
I will try the debugging as you suggested.
In the meanwhile, Please let me know if you know of anything wrong I am doing.
UPDATE: I debugged it using IE Dev. Toolbar and the value for that managed property is being returned as null. What could be going wrong? How can I further troubleshoot this problem?

• Crawled Property OFFICE:7 (document template) is not crawled and thus not mapped to managed property

Hi,
our customer (SharePoint Enterprise 2013) wants to crawl the information which Office template was used for creation of a Word/Excel/PowerPoint file for refining in his searchcenter.
We did some research on that topic and found out, that this information should be crawled in the buildin crawled category OFFICE in the crawled porperty 7. But so far any attempts to get any mapping working on this crawled property have been insufficient/frustrating...
What we did:
Map the crawled property to the RefinableString00 Refiner, add this refiner to the refiner web Panel and then do a full crawl. So far the refiner does not show up, and when using the "Query tool" we see that the managed property is empty and not
filled. For Debugging I tried to map nother crawled property to this refiner OFFICE:2 => Title of OFFICE:4 => Author which worked out just fine. So the refiner configuration seems to work but the crawler somehow does not seem to get the template Information
out of my documents. I even opened the uploaded word documents in Word to control if the template Information is correctly readable and you can see in the properties of the file, that normal.dot is filled out.
We even controlled the properties of the crawled property, it´s "isMappedToContents" is set to true.
with Kind regards, I really Do hope someone has a clue
David

All the content which is crawled will be part of search results by default including all the data in the list and documents. Mapping crawl property with Managed property helps if you want to execute a keyword query : Title(column)=SharePoint or
Title;SharePoint
You will typically need to do this kindda mapping if you want to
1. filter data based on column in Advanced Search Web Part
2. Add your custom column as part of search results on result page.
3. Add column based FILTER on Search result page.

• ArticleStartDateOWSDATE missing in Managed Property list

Hi,
I'm using an out-of-the-box managed property "ArticleStartDateOWSDATE" in my Content Search webpart. My problem is I didn't know how this property been added in my Managed Property list under Search Service Application. When I look on the machines
of my colleagues, they don't have that property. Do you know how this property been added in my ManagedProperty list? Thanks.
Regards,
Napster

You must have created any 'Publishing Site' or activated Publishing feature which adds these field.
If you go to your site and check the 'Site Columns' and filter on 'Publishing Columns', you will find the 'Article Date' which get added when you activate publishing feature on the site. And its a Site Columns so crawl creates Managed property for
it automatically.
Your colleague, must not have activated that feature so don't have these fields.

Looking for an open module for managing property files and environment variables (like CLASSPATH) set in a shell script. For handeling properties (preserving comments, supporting includes, appending new entries, and more) I have looked at SuperProperties from openadaptor but find certain functionality lacking. As for interfacing with common shell scripts/files containing setting for CLASSPATH, JAVA_HOME, other system/application variables another type of object editor is needed. Maybe JFIG?
Any ideas are greatly welcomed.

You seem wright, you hit a brick wall here with Air to find the location
of the command console on windows...
So in fact I never build an exe tool, but this little problem was a nice
case to test it and I tried it.:
I downloaded monodevelop
-GTK# for .NET 2.12.10*
-MonoDevelop 2.4.2*
from http://monodevelop.com/Download
created a console project and had an exe in 5 minutes !
You can download the findconsole tool and the projectfiles here:
http://greencollective.nl/temp/dump/findconsole_monoproject.zip
findconsole.exe will reveal the path/location of cmd.exe on a windows system.

• How to use viewslifetime managed property to get the list of sites which are least accessed?

Hi,
I am trying to get the subsites of a site collection which are least accessed. I am using ViewsLifeTime managed property in a content search web part with a condition like this:
ViewsLifeTime < 0
OR
ViewsLifeTime = 0.
However, It is not giving any results. I even tried with ViewsLifeTime < 10. I have some subsites which are accessed less than 10 times. I came to know this when I saw the value of ViewsLifeTime
property.
Can anyone suggest how to add a condition on ViewsLifeTime property?
Thanks in advance.

• Managed property and result sources

I'm trying to create a search results page that only returns results where the query value = a managed property.
I am getting these results back but am also getting back results where the query value if found within a documents contents which I do not want.
We have 3 different crawled properties that I have mapped to a managed property called PropertyFile.
I have then created a result source and have set the query builder to be: PropertyFile={QueryString.PropNo} and I pass a value such as PropertyFiles.aspx?PropNo=67910
I have gone into my search results webpart and set the query to PropertyFile(Service). But nothing is returned.
Have I missed a step?
I have tried adding PropertyFile={QueryString.PropNo} to the query builder in the search results web part but still nothing (do I need to add this query text in both places??)
The managed/crawled property mapping seems to be working ok as we have another search page (migrated from 2010) that uses it and works fine... we are trying to replace this functionality with 2013 tech.

Hi QPR_JAY,
Please use the following format in your query builder in search results web part.
{searchboxquery} AND PropertyFile:{QueryString.ProNo}
Then keep your search results page appended with querystring, in your case it may be the following format, then input the keywords and search it, then it should show the items which are meet the AND operation for keywords and querystring value.
PropertyFiles.aspx?PropNo=67910

• List manager displaying view value and not return value

Hello,
I'm using a list manager based on pop-up LOV. When I click on an item on the pop-up window, the window is closed and the return value is inserted in the page textbox. I would like to have (as expected) the view value, and have the return value used just as field value during form submit.
I'm using Application Express 2.1.0.00.39
Thanks.
Eugenio

Unfortunately, you can't. The way to do it is to return the display value into the List Manger item and then use the APEX_UTIL.STRING_TO_TABLE function to loop through the values and fetch the IDs. You will need to make sure the LOV items are unique and don't contain any colons.
I hope that helps

Hello All,
Can any one provide docus on Call list management and Interactive Script Editor Exercises or any examples how to implement them.
kindly m a i l me: r a j . k a n d i AT y a h o o . c o m

Muneeb,
I have found what looks like a solution for marketing attributes.
Marketing attribute in the text field, interactive script
However, even though I followed this It is still NOT updating the marketing attributes for the given BP.
Also, I am no further forward in knowing how to add BDC Field entries in the Answer so that we can update BP fields like the preferred communication method etc.
I would like to hear from you if you have found a solution Muneeb.

• Popup list manager and dynamic LOV

I'm stumped, stuck and thought I was doing something simple. Here's what I have:
1) Checkbox dynamically built (P3_CHECKBOX)
2) A hidden field to store the checkbox values (P3_CHECKED)
3) A popup list manager based on the hidden field.
I am using JavaScript to populate the P3_CHECKED whenever P3_CHECKBOX is changed. However, my dynamic LOV based on the hidden field always returns no rows. The SQL for the LOV is:
select application_role, role
from roles_view
where '%'||application||'%' LIKE to_char(:P3_CHECKED) order by 1
Am I missing something simple? I know the hidden field is getting populated because if I change to field to text, I see the data change. There is also data in the table because executing the query using the data in P3_CHECKED returns the expected rows.
Any help would be appreciated.
Mike

Mike,
The lov query accesses the value of P3_CHECKED from session state. That isn't stored in session state until the page is submitted.

• RE: List Archive and Release Management

Hi back.
>> what procedures do people use to manage the development, testing
and release of software?
It's useful to have a separate repository for Development, QA, Production,
etc. It's true that you have to 'import' between them, each time you
propagate changes. It might seem like a pain to constantly export/import,
but actually it's better that way.
Firstly, you should only export to QA when you're absolutely sure it's ready
for quality assurance, and this doesn't happen every day (or shouldn't)
Second, the advantage of this is that you get a 'clean' import and compile
each time, with no other baggage. This is especially critical when you
migrate from QA to a production environment.
There's no need to have a testing_verXX repository, just make a different
workspace for each version of test.
Just check out all the components, import, and integrate. The 'old'
workspace will have a snapshot of the old release.
* Don't Update that old workspace or you'll lose it!
* Put an administrator password on the repos, to protect against
inadvertent usage.
* It's expensive to have many repositories running on your environment
manager, so I recommend only one repos for each of development, QA and
Deployment.
* You might want to consider only bringing up the production repos as
required, they hog RAM like crazy.
It's critical to have a complete image of each version of every application
you have in production. That way, you can recreate any problem.
It's even useful to migrate your development repos every now and then. As
you know, these repos beasties can grow quite large, and it's god to start
from scratch on a regular basis.
For example, every month or so, our core architecure team releases a new
version of the core components. We all integrate, and we create a new repos
from the core architecture stuff, and import all our stuff over the top of
it. That way, we keep a loose coupling between sub-systems, and their stuff
never depends on ours. Also, with a split developmen repos, you can locate
the different teams on different intranets, or even on different sides of
the world, all with relatively little fuss.
Forté SCM hooks and SCCSWe use a unix version control called CMVC.
Whenever we integrate, it checks out the pex files, exports them, and checks
them back in.

Hi folks!
First of all, does anyone know what's going on with the list archive
on
SageIT? There doesn't seem to be a search facility anymore. Seems
a
bit weird when each message is appended with a little signature
'advertising' a searchable archive.
Second (and this is the biggy!), what procedures do people use to
manage the development, testing and release of software? I'm
talking
about how you keep them separate, how you do hot-fixes, how you
identify installed versions at customer sites, etc.
I've thought that we could do it with separate repositories for
"current
development", "testing_verXX", "release_verXY", etc., where we
export
from "development" and then import into "testing", and similarily
for
"release".
Also, we are looking at using the Forté SCM hooks and SCCS on our
Unix host to store historical versions of the projects/classes. But
we
somehow need to identify which version of a particular component is
installed at the customer site. I had thought of defining a
constant in
each project/class called "SCCS_VER" which contains the SCCS
keywords that get mapped to SCCS ID and date when put into SCCS.
Then the constant could be used to display these values in a

"About" window.
Any thoughts/opinions welcome.

Under Forte 2 we used to export all projects, then import them into a make
repository, then produce an app. Due to the time involved importing &
exporting, and errors resulting from importing projects out of order, we
switched to making copies of the dev repository and producing apps from
that. For us, it used to take 2+ hours to export/import, as opposed to 5
minutes for copying repository files. Unfortunately, we have found that
unless we force-compile prior to deploying, we will get errors when
attempting to compile partitions.
Our current procedure:
Shut down dev repos
Copy to make env
make a workspace that includes all projects
force-compile
update
integrate
make a new workspace for each app to make
make each app
export code
remove unused workspaces
clean repos

Hi,
We, like what you've explained, keep different releases of our application
in different workspaces. However, when the release is getting larger, this
"check-out-every-components-then-overwrite-by-import" procedure get tougher.
Sometimes, it even creates garbage in the repository which corrupts my
workspace.
So, I have an alternative proposal on this procedure ( though I haven't
really test on this idea ) which is to create a new repository for each new
release.
What do you think?

• Enterprise mode site list manager and document mode

Hello,
I'm just wondering, if I select IE5 doc mode in enterprise mode site list manager, will I have doc mode IE5 running on IE8 high fidelity emulation (enterprise mode) or IE 5 doc mode running on IE11 ?
Regards,
Michel

Hi Michel,
It should be IE 5 document mode on IE 11.
As you could see from the enterprise mode site list manager, the listed choice is:
If you select Enterprise Mode, it should be IE8 high fidelity emulation only, the manager won't let you choose the document mode under enterprise mode.
Best regards

• UWC/CE 6.3 and Access Manager 7.1 SSO sometimes fails (seems like a bug)

PREAMBULA: I started writing this post thinking that our AM SSO setup was at fault in some step. As I was gathering data, checking the doc-links and config files and finally sniffed the servers for HTTP dialogs, I grew pretty sure there's a bug in UWC/CE, AM SDK or Web Server Policy Agent, whatever implements the AM SSO session checking.
In short, as written below, our "sunmail" server can POST a broken cookie to AM server, if the cookie originally contained a "plus" character. The "plus" is replaced by a "space", invalidating the session check. As we know, "+" is often used in URLs to "escape" the space character. Perhaps some URL cleanup routine backfired here. I have double-checked, it is not the reverse proxy on "psam" breaking things. It is "sunmail" (UWC/CE or Policy Agent, don't know for certain) supplying the broken request. On the few occasions when the AM cookie contains no "plus" characters, the SSO works like a charm (also checked by a sniffer). Whenever there is a "plus", it breaks.
Is there some known bug or workaround that matches this description?
Nevertheless, for completeness' sake I kept the description of our setup. Maybe it's at fault after all :)
We have an installation of JCS5 with the latest patches as of early July 2008. And as the subject implies, we have problems with AM SSO in UWC/CE web-interface. I have reported them before, then they seemed fixed (not occuring for several tests in a row), but as time has shown, something wrong is still there.
So I'll try to go into deeper detail now, as we've may have overlooked some nuance... Then again, as my sniffer research below shows, this may be an engine bug and these setup details are irrelevant.
Our setup is split into several Solaris 10 full-root zones hosted on several servers, some of the components are enroute to HA (perhaps we made some mistakes on this part of the way?)
So, we have the following software stack:
1) two MMR Directory Servers (DSEE 6.3 = DSEE 6.2 from JCS5 + 125278-07__DSEE_6.3__x86x64 + 125277-07__DSEE_6.3__x86_sol9 patches) working in zones on two different servers. Except for one time when a manually forced ZFS rollback corrupted one of the server instances, no problems here.
2) two zones with Directory Proxy Servers (6.3, exact versions as above) running at port 389 provide the clients with an illusion that they have a stable Directory Server, even if one of the actual servers is currently rebooting ;)
These DPS zones are hosted on two different servers as well and are primarily used by LDAP clients (JCS components) running in other zones on the same respective servers.
3) A zone with Sun Web Server 7.0U1 and Access Manager 7.1 (+ 126357-01__AM71_x86 patch) and Delegated Admin 6.4-4.01 (from JCS5 + 121582-18__COMMCLI64__x86 patch).
At the moment there is one such zone (named "cos-psam-01.domain.ru" in the logs below), but we expect(-ed) it to become two similar zones as per AM HA setup.
Zones listed in (1-3) use private IP numbers, they belong in our internal DMZ.
Zones listed in (4-5) below use public (routed) IP numbers, they belong in our external DMZ.
4) A zone with Sun Web Server 7.0U1 used primarily as a reverse-proxy server (optionally with a load-balancer libpassthrough.so plugin) successfully used for other hosted projects. One of its configurations now passes connections from an externally routed IP address published as "psam.domain.ru" to "cos-psam-01.domain.ru", per AM HA setup, so HTTP clients believe they work with an Access Manager instance. This zone has a backend interface with a private IP address to communicate with the actual AM instance.
In AM configuration (both LDAP and file-based) we have configured a site ID with the publicly known name and mentioned both names (psam and cos-psam-01) in organization's realm/dns aliases.
5) A zone with the rest of the Sun Java Communications Suite 5, as in Messaging Server 6.3 (6.3-6.03 64-bit: ci-5.0-1.03_solx86_x64__Messaging_Server_6.3-2 + patch 126480-09__MSG63__x86-64), UWC/CE 6.3 (from JCS5 + 122794-17__UWC63-4.01_core__x86), Instant Messaging 7.2 (from JCS5 + 118790-29__IM72__x86-1 + 118787-28__IM72__x86-2), Calendar Server 6.3 (from JCS5 + 121658-28__iCS63__x86). The web-components (UWC/CE, IM, /httpbind) are deployed in a Sun Web Server 7.0U1 as well.
This zone is named "sunmail.domain.ru" and has a routed IP address for direct external access to its servicess.
The AM SDK part is also patched (126357-01__AM71_x86); it points to the load-balancer name ("psam.domain.ru") as an actual AM server.
# imsimta version
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.3-6.03 (built Mar 14 2008; 64bit)
libimta.so 6.3-6.03 (built 17:15:08, Mar 14 2008; 64bit)
SunOS sunmail 5.10 Generic_127112-07 i86pc i386 i86pc
While setting up this server set we tried to use AM SSO as the user login method, but it works unreliably.
"Unreliably" means that while most of the time entering a correct uid and password in Access Manager login page ("http://psam.domain.ru/amserver/UI/Login") does redirect a user back to "http://sunmail.domain.ru/uwc/auth" along with a new cookie, and the user is redirected again to his or her mailbox, sometimes the user receives the UWC/CE login page. Entering the same uid and password here does log him in, but it breaks the whole point of SSO and only increases the end-user routine required to log in :\
We have also seen the "missing mail tab" problem - if the users point the browser to any hostname different from "sunmail.domain.ru" (i.e. www.mail.domain.ru which is equivalent in DNS), they have only the Address book, Calendar and Options tabs; no webmail. So far this is resolved by Policy Agent forcing The One name of the server.
Here's the configuration we did specifically for AM SSO:
1) in AMConfig.properties of "sunmail" and "cos-psam-01" we set up
com.iplanet.am.cookie.encode=false
am.encryption.pwd=<the same value>
all hostname-related parameters point to "psam.domain.ru"
2) in AMConfig.properties of "cos-psam-01" a number of FQDN equivalence entries are added (so it does not redirect to a server hostname unknown to visitors):
com.sun.identity.server.fqdnMap[publicname-or-ip]=psam.domain.ru
com.sun.identity.server.fqdnMap[cos-psam-01.domain.ru]=cos-psam-01.domain.ru

}6) Calendar SSO - per docs...
According to ngrep sniffing,
1) the browser goes to "http://sunmail.domain.ru/uwc/auth" without any cookies
2) receives a redirect and goes to "http://psam.domain.ru/amserver/UI/Login?gotoOnFail=http://sunmail.domain.ru:80/uwc&goto=http%3A%2F%2Fsunmail.domain.ru%3A80%2Fuwc%2Fauth"; sends no cookies either.
3) The first response from the "psam" server (as redirected from "cos-psam-01") sets a few cookies while rendering the login page:
Set-cookie: JSESSIONID=7EF8F2810D2071CA03CFEAE9972735B2; Path=/
Set-cookie: AMAuthCookie=AQIC5wM2LY4SfcwuT2ASCrsfO78nXdceEHXeH1+xTqH7C3I=@AAJTSQACMDI=#; Domain=.domain.ru; Path=/
Set-cookie: amlbcookie=02; Domain=.domain.ru; Path=/
4) The browser requests the login page resources (javascripts, images, etc) using these cookies, as in this header line:
Cookie: JSESSIONID=7EF8F2810D2071CA03CFEAE9972735B2; AMAuthCookie=AQIC5wM2LY4SfcwuT2ASCrsfO78nXdceEHXeH1+xTqH7C3I=@AAJTSQACMDI=#; amlbcookie=02
5) The browser POSTs the login request to "/amserver/UI/Login" and receives a redirection to http://sunmail.domain.ru:80/uwc/auth
Set-cookie: iPlanetDirectoryPro=AQIC5wM2LY4SfcwuT2ASCrsfO78nXdceEHXeH1+xTqH7C3I=@AAJTSQACMDI=#; Domain=.domain.ru; Path=/
Set-cookie: AMAuthCookie=LOGOUT; Domain=.domain.ru; Expires=Thu, 01-Jan-1970 00:00:10 GMT; Path=/
6) The browser requests "http://sunmail.domain.ru/uwc/auth" using the newly set cookie (looks like the old one to me though):
Cookie: amlbcookie=02; iPlanetDirectoryPro=AQIC5wM2LY4SfcwuT2ASCrsfO78nXdceEHXeH1+xTqH7C3I=@AAJTSQACMDI=#
7) The "sunmail" web-server checks the AM session validity with the same "psam.domain.ru". It sends a series of POSTs to /amserver/namingservice:

<RequestSet vers="1.0" svcid="com.iplanet.am.naming" reqid="685">
<Request>
<NamingRequest vers="1.0" reqid="324" sessid="AQIC5wM2LY4SfcwuT2ASCrsfO78nXdceEHXeH1+xTqH7C3I=@AAJTSQACMDI=#">
<GetNamingProfile>
</GetNamingProfile>
</NamingRequest>
</Request>
</RequestSet>(receives a large XML list of different Access Manager configuration parameters and URLs)
...then a double-request to /amserver/sessionservice:

<RequestSet vers="1.0" svcid="Session" reqid="686">
<Request>
<SessionRequest vers="1.0" reqid="678">

</GetSession>
</SessionRequest>
</Request>
<Request>
<SessionRequest vers="1.0" reqid="679">

</AddSessionListener>
</SessionRequest>
</Request>
</RequestSet>As a result it receives an XML with a lot of user-specific information (the username, LDAP DN, preferred locale, auth module used, etc.)
!!!*** Now, the problem part ***!!!
8) And then "sunmail" POSTs a broken cookie to "psam" (note the space in mid-text, where the "plus" sign was previously).
I looked over the large XML responses to the two previous requests, whenever they mention the session cookie value, the "plus" is there.
For the most detail I can provide, I'll even paste the whole HTTP packet:
POST /amserver/sessionservice HTTP/1.1
Proxy-agent: Sun-Java-System-Web-Server/7.0

</RequestSet> The server's error response is apparent:

There have been a few reports of the same behaviour with other customers - specifically with the handling of the encoding of "+" characters to " ". It relates to how cookie encoding/decoding is performed (as you have already observed).
The solution for these customers was the following:
=> AM server/client side:
Ensure that com.iplanet.am.cookie.encode=false in AMConfig.properties and AMAgent.properties on all systems.
=> AM client (UWC) side:
- Set <property name="encodeCookies" value="false"/> in /var/opt/SUNWuwc/WEB-INF/sun-web.xml. This will prevent UWC from trying to urldecode the cookie it receives and therefore stops it turning the + into a space e.g.

<sun-web-app>
<property name="encodeCookies" value="false"/>
<session-config>
<session-manager/>
</session-config>
<jsp-config/>
<property name="allowLinking" value="true" />
</sun-web-app>Regards,
Shane.

• Custom Manage Property does not pick up the value from mapping crawl property

Hi All,
I have created a custom list with the column name that's called "category".
Then I ran full crawl and I saw the "ows_category" crawl property is created.
Then I create the manage property names as "Category" and map with the "ows_category" and run the full crawl again. (Retrivable, Searchable, Refinable options are checked)
After full crawl, I searched Category:keyword but it returned 0 result.
But when I search keyword, that list item is retuned
I tried to debug with the spsearch2013 tool and there is no "Category" manage property in the return XML.
It seems the Manage Property does not pick up value from the crawl property. (Something might be wrong with the index schema)
Do you have any suggestion?
Do I need to reset the index?
Best Regards,
Andy

Hi Andy,
When you search ‘category’ in crawled properties(Central Administration->Search Service Application->Search Schema), you will see ows_Category is mapped to DiscussionCategory, like the screenshot:
So, I suggest you create a new column using another name, then test again, compare the result.
Best Regards,
Wendy

• Managed property value is not returned in item template for ArticleStartDateOWSDATE

Environment: SharePoint 2013 online
Related parts: Search Result web part (OOB), Display template for search result items
Base type: article page
I have a search result page, it has a search result web part on it, for the display template, it is using a default for list, using "single template to display items" option to point to a custom item template.
The search returns list of articles, just title and abstract, it works fine.
We need to add "Article Date" to be displayed. "Article Date" is a OOB site column under "Publishing Columns".
I found its field name is ArticleStartDate, then from search schema, I found the corresponding managed property name is "ArticleStartDateOWSDATE", the mapped crawled property is "ows_q_DATE_ArticleStartDate".
In order to display it, I added managed property mapping to the item template to map to ArticleStartDateOWSDATE.
The code is like,
<mso:ManagedPropertyMapping msdt:dt="string">'Title':'Title',','MyArticleStartDate':'ArticleStartDateOWSDATE'</mso:ManagedPropertyMapping>
var ArticleDate = $getItemValue(ctx, "MyArticleStartDate");
The value of variable (ArticleDate) is empty when try to display it.
Please let me know if you re-create this issue or have a solution to display the value.
BTW, on "Content search" web part, I can map ArticleStartDateOWSDATE to "Line 3", and display its value. So I know the managed property itself should be fine.
Thanks in advance,
John

I think your input value is wrong,, when I did HTML decode of your Managed properties :
'Title':'Title',','MyArticleStartDate':'ArticleStartDateOWSDATE'
It gives :
'Title':'Title',','MyArticleStartDate':'ArticleStartDateOWSDATE'
i.e. wrong, if you see there is extra comma in between.
try giving :
'Title':'Title','MyArticleStartDate':'ArticleStartDateOWSDATE'
or directly 'Title':'Title','MyArticleStartDate':'ArticleStartDateOWSDATE'
