F4 help in selection fields of search help

Hi all,
I've created a elementary search help for sold to party and appended it to collective search help.
Now my problem is i need F4 help in one of the selection fields of search help.
How can i get it.
I m using selection method where ive created a view which fetches all data..

Hi,
1)Double click on the dataelement of your field on which you want f4 help then in the first tab itself you will find two option one for attaching the search help you have created(Elementry/ Collective) and second option is the parameter ID.
You have to look for the first option to attach the search help.
2) You can create f4 help for your Parameter or Selection screen by using the event.
AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST for PARA/Selection screen.
Further you can use the FM mentioned above F4_INT.....

I did like this.
1. I enhanced BP using EEW.
2. I created a new view and display an enhanced field via BSP workbench.

You could resolve your issue by changing the value of the "ls_map-context_attr" to the attribute value seen on the F2 help on WebUI screen.
If you change the value   ls_map-context_attr to   'ZZBUT000000102' , then F4 help would work properly.
Hence the correct code would be:

Value Transport (Exporting) to multiple screen fields in Search Help

Hi all,
I have created elementary search help using exit and attached it to data element. After F4 when I get hitlist I want all the values from the selected rows to get copied to the screen fields. I.e. I want the value transport.
In the search help I am exporting those values which I want to get copied back but I am unable to get the result.

Hi,
You can get this behaviour only by making the SEARCH HELP assignment at the STRUCTURE level.
You need to create or use an existing structure to create your screen fields which you want to populate using the search help. Then assign this search help directly to the structure and there do the mapping between structure fields and the search help export params.
Only by doing this you can autopopulate the values using one search help.

How can I to obtain the value selected in a search help?

I have a search help and it has a "search help exit" (a FM).
At FM search help exit I am calling the standard FM RHF4_RFC_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST to another system ( assigning the corresponding "destination" ).
The FM RHF4_RFC_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST display a screen where the search is done. When a field is selected returns the values in the internal table RETURN_TAB.
At FM search help exit I assign the selected value ( in RETURN_TAB ) to internal table's field RECORD_TAB-STRING.
The search help is assigned to a table field and when I want to obtain a value through search help in SM30 transaction, the screen created by FM RHF4_RFC_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST appears, but when I select a value, this is not "copy" to the table field.
In what am I wrong? What am I omitting?

Hi,
Probably you are not mapping the right fields from source to destination structures.
plz check RETURN_TAB-STRING(this is an example) assigned to RECORD_TAB-STRING.
put a break point at this line and check.

Extra fields in search help window in Record working time EHP5

Hi Experts,
Can you please let me know how to add additional fields/select options in search help window for Record Working Time ?
My system is EHP5 NW 7.02
I have added the custom search help for the respective filed in table " TCATS_SHLP_ITS".
I can see this table is having entry for only 4 selection options and 6 value fields for search help display.
But in my custom search help programme is having 8 select options(for advance search) and 10 display fields on the search window. It's working from CAT2 transaction but when I am running through webdynpro timesheet, I can only get 4 select options and 6 value fields.
Please let me know how to make the other fields available.

Thanks for your response. In that modify possible entries screen (Details view) I can see the search help is only having 4 select options and 6 display fields.
So as per my understanding max 6 display fields/4 select options can only be displayed on search window.
My requirement is to display more fields on search help OVS window.

How to replace a field's search help of DDIC in FPM feeder class?

I want to replace a field's search help in DDIC structure, for an example, in structure HCMT_BSP_PA_XX_R0009, the field BANKL(Bank Keys) has a search help named 'H_BANKL', I want to replace this search help with other one such as 'H_BANKEY' in the FPM feeder class CL_HRESS_PER_DETAIL, I redefined such method:

I test it and found the search help window was replaced indeed, but all the value of import/export parameters in the new search help was lost, it means, the value of import paramer BANKS(Bank country) and the export parameter BANKA(bank name) were lost. Only the value of BANKL itself can be returned by the new search help window. Can you give me some suggestions about how to maintain the link( value exchange) between structure HCMT_BSP_PA_XX_R0009 and dynamically defined search help 'H_BANKEY' in FPM feeder class?
I tried to use sap memory ID but it doesn't works well.

That is because for the import and export of DDIC Search help values to work in WDA, not in FPM layer.Feeder Class can do nothing about it.

Whether it exists in DEV system or not?
Take the name of that Search Help from PRD/Quality(if it is not there in DEV system) and modify/change it by removing that field from the search help in DEV system and create a Transport request and transport the same request to Quality/PRD systems
Now the New changes (in which the field was removed) will be over written on the old search help in the PRD system, since it is the same Name (search help)

Adding new field in search help result view

Dear Experts,
I want to include one more field in search help result. The field shoud give description.
How can i do this in UI result view?
If I try to add attribute in result view, the result view is of type table, and it does not allow us to add value node. It will allow us to add model attribute. If I add attribute in search help resut table view then will i be able to see it in table form.

Hi Pankaj,
Its not that difficult.
There are two ways
1. You can enhance your Result BOL object through EEWB and append your z-field to std. BOL result object. This then appears automatically for your result context node and then you can pull it to the view in config tool.
2. Directly go to your context node class (CN00 , CN01 etc ) , now copy method GET_S_XYZ , paste it and rename as GET_yourfieldname. Similarly copy SET_S_XYZ, GET_M_XYZ and GET_I_XYZ and paste and rename. Once activated. Quit the component browser completely. Open again using bsp_wd_cmpwb. open you view and then your node. You can find you new attribut present as struct.YourField.
You can then copy code from available setter-getter methods for this attribute. You must handle setter getter by urself in this case. In may std. nodes, this is done for description field. I have personally done this for product descripton field.
if you dont want the field to be part of structure ( i.e. as struct.Yourfield ) then you can also copy paste GET_XYZ, SET_XYZ methods. your filed then do not appear as Struct.YourField but it just appears as YourField name under context node.

You can check PRODUCTDESCRIPTION attribute of BTAdminI node of BT115QIT_SLSQ/Items view of BT115QIT_SLSQ component. They have added it the same way as i described above. You see the GET_ method to see how they are retrieving product description. In my object, i wrote direct query to Comm_prshtext table to retriev short_text by passing product guid and then assigen it to value variable of Get method.

Skip standard select method in search help exit

Hi experts,
how to skip standard select method in search help exit? Currently I'm selecting my custom data with select statement in 'DISP' section, but still text: 'more than 500 results were found' is shown. I just want to skip/disable standard selection. Thank you.

Difference between 'Selections from' and 'Search helps' in some HR program

Hi,
I notice at the top portions of some programs like Payroll Driver and pre-DME program there's two separate pushbuttons, 'Selections from' and 'Search helps'. What's the diff between the two?
Because to me, both seem to have same functionality, i.e. to further filter the records.
When I create customized programs, usually I use logical database pnp, and by that, we are adding 'Selections from' at the selection screen to help further select.
So my questions:
1. Why is there another button to help filter? Since both have same functionality to filter.
2. What's the diff between the 2?
3. Can somebody confirm the 'Search helps' is really for filtering?

Adding elementry search help to SAP standard Collective Search help

Hi,
I had copied standard elementary search help to MAT0M to ZZ_MAT0M and added some more fields and activated to it.
it got activated sucessfully.
Now i have to attached the ZZ_MAT0M elementry search help to standard collective search help MAT1_A.
How can i do that?
can i add it directly to MAT1_A (sell --->search help <MAT1_A> changes --> in included search helpss tab using + (insert icon) )

I solved my problem :
I had copied standard elementary search help to MAT0M to ZZ_MAT0M and added some more fields and copied Database View M_MAT1M to ZZ_M_MAT1M and addedd same fields and activated both.
both got activated sucessfully.
Now i have to attached the ZZ_MAT0M elementry search help to standard collective search help MAT1_A and this Z-search help shd appear on the first tab.
so I just went to collective search help MAT1_A in change mode --> click on "+" icon addedd my ZZ__ search help, save and activated it.
If you dont really care in which tab your search help shd appear, then the best option is to use Append Search help.
Note : if you are directly adding your search help in collective standard search help, then its better to remove hotkey form your custom elementry search help, as, if not remove will lead to warnings or make sure that you have unique hotkey in that collective search help.

How to create SELECT-OPTION in search help (search) field

Export all data of selected line in search help to fields in table control

I've created a search help which will export 4 fields. These 4 fields should be populated to the corresponding fields in TABLE CONTROL. However, in my program, only the first column is populated and the others are blank. How to solve this problem? Do I need to include POV? Thank you.

1. Create a search help with four exporting parameters.
    ( check the you have created properly the sterp step
     procedure in creating the search help).
2. No need to go for POV.
3. After creating the table control assign the fieldnames into
   the control, then click on the fieldname it will show the
   attributes of that field . ther you can find te search help field
   fill that field with your search help name .
4.After assigning the field, check it in executing the report.
      Hope this will work for you, if it is not let me know.

How to restrict the values for selection in the search help..

hi,
i have a requirement regarding screen programming. i have added a i/o field in a screen and i linked a search help for that field.
i used the standard search help it holds some 15 values for selection...
when i click on the search help i m getting some 15 values for selection. but i dont need all the 15 values. i need only 4 values for selection..can any one help me regarding this...

How to concatenate fields in Search help exit

Hi,
My requirement is i have to create a search help for a field in cj20n transaction.
when i press f4 on that field i should get a popup of 4 fields from custom table,when user selects any 1 row,
first 3 field values should be concatenated and appear in screen field . in search hlp i added 1 more field so that i can concatenate
all 3 field values and place in it.I can use search help exit so i can concatenate but there are steps like selone,presel etc i am not able to understand .
I saw some examples in wiki, but not able to understand what to do for my requirement.

You would use the step 'SELECT' to control the data selection into an internal table. You would use the step 'DISP' to map the records in the internal table to the search help record table. In your case, I would already have a field in the internal table with the values concatenated together prior to the hit list display (do this in SELECT step) which is not displayed in the hit list but is flagged as the EXPORT field in the search help definition; otherwise just put the field at the end of the hit list.
Map your results in DISP as follows:
