Facebook App Missing

Hi Folks,
Am needing some help from you savvy people out there.
I recently updated my Iphone 4 to the latest update 7.02. During this update my son meddled with phone and I now have problem with my Faccebook App. The app itsel is missing.
I can go to settings, and scroll down to facebook and select it and I get the facebook settings beside the logo I have "installed". When I try to uninstall it by pressing installed I get nothing.
In itunes app store I find the facebook app and beside the logo is "open", when I press this nothing happens.
When I use spotlight search and type in Facebook nothing relevant comes up.
I have 7gig of space and four blank pages.
I have reset my phone and loaded up from icloud
I have turned on and off restrictions
I have deleted te app through laptop itunes
I have reset home screen layout.
Anyone have any clues?

I am also having issues with the FB app. Many of my Friends do not display photos or info properly, telling me not photos or no info. Going to the FB site via Safari which is mobile aware does show more of the information, but it only lists friends that have had recent posts. The friend list there does in the mobile aware version will not show all my friends. I can go to the full site to get at all the data, but on the iPhone the layout of FB makes it difficult to select items as the site has so many hot spots it is easy to hit the wrong area one wants to go to.
Is anyone else having issues with the FB app?

Facebook App - Problems with Newsfeed & Missing Notifications/Messages

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. I continue to have two frustrating problems with my Facebook for Blackberry app that I installed directly via RIM's website:
1. I am always missing notifications & messages on my blackberry. Sometimes they come through and other times they do not. Right now my blackberry said I had no new notifications or messages, but when I logged onto my Facebook account on my PC it showed I had 2 new messages. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Facebook app three different times (each time also removing & reinstalling my battery). After doing this, it seems to work consistently for a short while (maybe a week or two) and then starts missing notifications & messages all over again. This is incredibly unreliable and frustrating - RIM really needs to fix this.
2. My second problem is that on my blackberry Facebook app I continue to see posts from apps that my friends interact with in my newsfeed that I have blocked on my main Facebook page (i.e. games like Farmville, Hidden Chronicles, various horoscope apps, etc). If I have blocked them on my regular Facebook account and they do not show up in my newsfeed when I'm logged into Facebook on a computer, why am I seeing them on my newsfeed on my blackberry? Again, this is a very annoying problem and really needs to be fixed.
I hope someone in the forum can help me wth these issues.

I haven't tried the older version of skype yet. But I did try one thing that worked, it's just not ideal. Basically I set up a new account through skype and then logged in through that account. Everything worked perfectly fine. I could send and receive messages and everything updated like it was supposed to. Altough I obviously had to readd all my contacts and group chats, which was a pain. I logged out of that account and logged back into my original one and it was still having the same problems. I have absolutely no idea why a new account will work fine but my old account won't. But if you want to keep the updated version of skype and don't mind all of the hassle of making a new account, that's one sort of solution.

The Facebook app crashes every time I open it

Recently my Facebook app has been crashing a lot. At first it would only crash when I tried to load my news feed, but now it crashes after a few seconds every time I open it.

This morning the Facebook App will not finish updating in iTunes11 on a 10,1 iMac, Mavericks. Now it is unavailable.
iTunes Facebook Update download keeps telling me that: "the artwork is missing" whatever that is in an App for iMac, iPhone4 and iPad Air. I deleted the Facebook app from iTunes on the iMac, which resulted in all deletions as the other items were synced. I cannot download the Facebook App in the App Store just now at 1:23 AM Central. I think they have switched it unavailable for the time being.

WebOS Facebook Chat Missing?

Facebook chat support was expected in webOS 2.x...obviously this is still missing...
Are there any updates as to when we will see this?
also in terms of the facebook app, there are several bugs including comments showing 'anonymous user' for most names.
Also on the 'news' screen, the dropdown list that shows 'news feed, status update, etc' has several blank options...?
Has this app been dropped, or will it continue to be supported for WebOS 2.x???

Facebook chat is something a lot of people would like to see, but unfortunately it's just not there yet. The webOS Facebook app hasn't been updated in a while so that's probably why you're seeing the "Anonymous user" posts (I see them too on my Pre 3).
Note, the following content is simply my opinion and should not be taken as fact or as a forward looking statement. Only read it if you understand that is simply an opinion.

HP is still actively developing webOS but with them switching to an open source model, it might put a hamper/stop to the webOS Facebook app. The reason being that the Facebook API is subject to a user agreement and I don't believe that agreement includes distrobution of source. That would mean that HP would either have to do a closed source app or none at all. And to be honest, I think they are focusing more on the OS then the apps right now. Anyway, that's just my 2 cents.

Facebook app doesn't have all news posts

I don't get all the news posts in facebook app. Anyone else have this?

Pursuant to your request, I opened my Facebook account with my Notebook PC. Then I opened my Facebook account using the Facebook Tablet app in my TP, and finally I opened my Facebook account using the TP's web browser. After comparing all three screens, I saw what you have been seeing. The Facebook Tablet app in my TP was missing news posts from some of my friends.
At first I thought that perhaps it was a time delay or refresh problem with the Facebook Tablet app in my TP, so I had a friend in FL (1200 miles away but in my same time zone) post to me. That post quickly appeared on all 3 of my Facebook screens.
I've noticed that the missing news posts all appear to originate from California, 3 time zones away. Very strange situation that you have discovered, I would blame this screwup on the Democrats running/ruining California.
It gets weirder. As a final test, I opened my California friend's Facebook account wall on all 3 screens above. ONLY the Facebook Tablet app in my TP could NOT display anything newer than 16 days ago.
Resolution of the problem appears to be ...... DO NOT USE THE FLAWED FACEBOOK TABLET APP !!!
Access Facebook ONLY via your TP's web browser.

Facebook: Why doesn't it show "via iPhone or Ipod" when updating status via the Facebook App?

I see a lot of updates by other users which say "via Iphone", "via Ipad3", etc. But I don't get it for my updates even though I use the Facebook App. Even I tried using Facebook via Safari. Same results. I checked all the settings in my Ipod and settings in Facebook as well. I assume it should detect automatically. Is there something I'm missing? I like resolving issues myself. But this time I'm frustrated because of this ridiculously negligible issue. Please help.

I have this same problem. On my iPhone 4 running 4.3.5, when I download a podcast from inside the itunes app on my phone, it appears to download correctly, but doesn't show up in the list in the ipod app.

Facebook app disappeared and cannot retrieve?

I have an iPhone 4S, about a year now. Yesterday I downloaded a Facebook update and went to sleep. Wake up in morning and Facebook app is missing from phone. It was on my front page, next to a blank spot, and now there are two blank spots in the bottom right of my front page. Here is what I have tried:
-Resetting phone (home+on/off button). Reset 3-4 times, nothing.
-Reinstalling app. Looked up Facebook app in app store, and shows as being installed. So there is an "Open" button where there would be an "Install" button if I did not yet have the app. I click the "Open" button and it does nothing, like it's a dead button.
-Searching for Facebook. On the iOs "Search iPhone" bubble (swipe right on home screen) I search for Facebook. Nothing shows up but contacts.
-Synching on iTunes. App doesn't show up on list, tried a synch, reset phone, nothing worked.
I have 111 apps installed across 7 pages (with a few blank spots scattered across). I do not and never had "Restrictions" enabled. I have not changed any other settings anytime recently. I have 4 gigs of free space on my phone.
Any guidance here would be appreciated...thanks!

So guess what...Facebook update released just a few hours ago. Saw it on my iPad and quickly checked on iPhone. Update was there too, so I updated, and the FB app reappeared,on my phone (and it had the "New" designation on it, lol go figure). So, no idea what happened, but fortunately this was the third or so FB update in a week and not one of those droughts of a few months between updates. Very lucky there.

I have an Ipad 2 and I have downloaded the facebook app and whenever I try and find it it is missing but when I go and look to reinstall it it says its already installed and I really want it back what should I do to get it back? Please Help!!!!!!

It is very difficult to navigate on facebook via safari. The IPAD does not allow other browsers to download and use it almost prevents the facebook app and the lack of scrolling the page.

I also have problems with Facebook on my iPad 2. I don't do a lot with Facebook and generally only post on my feed page. Sometimes hitting return on the keyboard enters the comment, sometimes not. Sometimes the comment will show on my iPad but if I revisit that page I find that the comment has disappeared. So I'd say that Facebook and my iPad are not totally compatible with each other.
I looked into Friendly and was about to purchase this free ap. But before I did I went to the Friendly web page for more info. There I found a page with users comments. One after another users complained about bugs with Friendly. The developers claimed a fix was coming but the user comments complained about the lack of response and support. One of the fixes suggested by the developers was to log out of Friendly then log back in. One user complained that doing this three times in ten minutes was not very helpful. Because of this I decided to avoid Friendly.
I did find a Facebook developed ap but it was for the iPhone. I presume that iPhone aps will work on the iPad but I'll wait until Facebook releases an iPad compatible ap. If there is an ap developed by Facebook for the iPad that I missed please let me know.

Why when I click any link on Facebook app it redirects to **** ?

I have iPad 2 iOS 7.1.2 and it was fine but 5 days ago every link I open on Facebook app it redirects to **** , I've tried resetting the iPad to factory settings and removing fb app and reinstalling it again but the problem keeps occurring , knowing that these links opens from PC without problems and I didn't install jailbreak ........ Please help

Facebook app not staying full screen after IOS 7.1 upgrade

Just started this morning... did the 7.1 upgrade last night. Not sure if I accessed FB last night after the upgrade.
What I'm seeing this morning is pretty weird... best way to describe it is: the FB app is not fully crashing... if I start it, it throws the FB screen for a milli-second, then it disappears. BUT... it still shows up as a running app, with recent posts shown in the preview window of the running apps section (FB window above FB icon). If I try to maximize it, it goes full screen for a milli-second then disappears but is still shown as a running app.
I checked the FB account info in the iPad's Settings and it was missing my FB acct info. I added the info back in but the problem continues.
I haven't checked every app on my iPad but the Chrome, Gmail, and ebay apps are all working fine. Just tried Maps, iTunes Store, and Garageband and they all start up as expected.

I've had no problems with the Facebook App. Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
No data will be lost.

Facebook app deadly slow, wifi slow, app downloading deadly slow, app crashes enormously, and maps too slow after iOS 6 update

I have a 3rd Gen Ipad Wifi, and it worked like a charm from the day I bought to the time before the update. All the problems started after iOS 6 update. Especially Facebook app is like a using dial up connection with the slowest possible speed. After the update, it became just a little bit faster, but still cant even open photos, and video. Google Chrome crashes often, the game download beame dead slow. Has any been experiencing similar things??????

N8 Facebook App/Touch Facebook Site

What's the point of the N8 having a pre-installed Facebook app when there is a Touch Facebook site? Also, I cannot delete or amend messages using the pre-installed N8 Facebook app which surely is a major fault/shortcoming and to then have to use the Touch Facebook site to amend a message posted using the app is just plain ridiculous!!!!

Agreed, the Symbian Facebook app ain't great! My brother's got the iphone 4 and facebook is brilliant on it, in fact he only uses his mobile for Facebook now because he reckons it's better than using his pc!
You asked if I'm using the Facebook app and not the Social app - ??? I have to go in through the social app to access the Facebook app (if that makes sense) because that seems to be how to use it on the N8. But given the useless user guide provided with the N8 who knows!!!

It seems bizarre for Nokia to shout about how great their Facebook app is on the N8 but when you can't delete or amend messages then it ain't that great! I posted a message the other day and immediately needed to remove it - no chance - so it was out there for all to read until I could access my pc!!!! Come on Nokia sort it (or am I missing something)?? If so please update the user guide to tell people how to fully use it - gggrrrrrr!!!!!

HT4204 i have an iphone 3g and its saying that my IOS 4.2.1 is current but yet i cant download the facebook app or whatsapp ive updated my itunes but it stil wont let me. some one help it would be greatly appreciated.

The Facebook app now requires iOS 5.0 or later. I believe that 4.2.1 was the last version that Apple released for the 3G. And with the rapid approach of the iPhone 5S and possibly 6 they are no longer supporting the 3G. I would not be surprised to see them stop offering support for the 3GS this time around.

Hi...I am new to this site and it looks like I posted the question in the subject box...my bad.
I have an Iphone 3G which is used as an ipod (phone service plans are too expensive).
I had some apps on it, Facebook being one of them. The device was goins soooo slow (not even 2G of the available 6 being used) so I did as instructed and backed it up, restored it and then put the info back into it. When I tried to download the Facebook app...it said that I had a 4.2.1 system and needed a 4.3 something system? Can anyone provide any help on this or am I doing something wrong?

Sorry. There's nothing anyone can do. The current version of the facebook app will not run on 4.2.1. The iPhone 3G won't run anything higher than 4.2.1. You're stuck.
Maybe it's time to buy yourself a new iPod Touch.
