FaceTime sleep bug on ios8

WWhen calling my parents iPad mini on FaceTime it fails to ring if the iPad has been closed and a sleep for a while. It just shows as missed call. If it's open or just recently closed it rings Fine. They are always able to call me as well.
I searched internet and tried all sorts of things. Nothing solves this. It used to work fine.

Hi, I have the same problem. when making a FaceTime, the caller always gets poor connection after a few seconds.
i Found out that if you call using audio and then switch to video afterwards it doesn't do it.

Facetime Authorization Bug iTouch

Is there any offical Apple response to the Facetime Authorization Bug on the new iTouch ? Searching around the web it seems to be a common enough problem but there doesn't seem to be a real solution to the problem other than restore , restart etc etc which never seems to work. I've got two other iTouches which I've setup and facetime works great but with the the 3rd iTouch it never connects.

I've solved this problem in the last couple of hours by simply taking the iTouch in question back to Target getting it replaced with a new one. The new one signs into facetime first time with the exact same Apple ID. My suggestions to anybody having the same problem would be to return your iTouch to the store and get a new one as it's obviously to do with the device and nothing to do with the Apple ID.

Facetime activation errors since IOS8 update

IPAD Air (16gig WiFi) since upgrading to IOS8, I have tried to setup Face Time and keep getting "An error occurred during activation. Try again" or "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again."
I have rebooted.
I have reset WiFi.
Rest set and tried new password.
I have tried several time, and the error just keeps coming back.
It took overnight to set up messages.(had several log in problems, then just worked this morning)
All this to get conductivity to work.

Sleep Bug - Click Fires Dashboard

All of a sudden my June 2010 MBP has an issue when resuming from sleep. Any single click is firing the dashboard. ***! I've checked the trackpad settings, nothing helpful there.
I don't know what else to check. If it's a fresh boot, no problems. As soon as it sleeps and resumes, bam, click = dashboard
Even if the sleep is only shut the lid, wait for sleep and reopen. The weird thing is that immediately upon resume the click works just fine it takes a few moments for the bug to crop up.
Any ideas or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, I own a magic mouse, so I assumed it was the problem. The first thing I did was turn off the bluetooth. That didn't help.
Then I remembered I was running MagicPerfs. I killed it, problem gone. I don't know what setting I jacked up yet and I'm not sure why it's only a problem after resuming from sleep. When I figure it out, I'll post an update.

I tried your code on Sol 8 using FD6U2 and got
similar behavior, I also tried with a small value
and timed the execution and got expected behavior.
The man page sleep(3c) says the argument is an
unsigned int. There might be somethig pathalogic
about MAX_INT and the argument, like overflow. I
need to find out which library this is in and whether
it is a bug because the bug might be filed against
either the OS or the compilers.

Poker Journal app won't install due to Apple bug in iOS8

I've been working with the developer of the fantastic app, Poker Journal, as it will not work / install on iOS8. Unfortunately it seems to be an Apple problem but Apple isn't offering much help. Along with the other users of this app I'd greatly appreciate if Apple would please get it to again work.

perhaps you can help me with my problem as well. i did the log file as well and i suppose its something to do with the ipod functions in itunes. everywhere in the logfile where the pattern "2330" matches is something like this:

10.9.4 Wifi Wake From Sleep Bug?

Anyone else seeing a new wifi problem crop up after upgrading to 10.9.4?
My rMBP wifi does not work properly once you put it to sleep and wake it up... all connectivity via wifi becomes extremely slow, turning the wifi off/on does nothing to fix that. Only a full restart will fix the wifi and then it runs as you would expect it to. Put it back to sleep and wake again (by lid shut/unshut), wifi goes back to being extremely slow.
Late '13 13" rMBP here - 2.6/8/512.

Do you run any antivirus software on your Mac? Commercial Antivirus software can negatively impact the normal operation of OS X.
Do you have apps like MacKeeper or any other maintenance apps like CleanMyMac 1 or 2, TuneUpMyMac, MacCleanse or anything like these apps, installed on your Mac? These types of apps, while they appear to be helpful, can do too good a job of data "cleanup" causing the potential to do serious data corruption or data deletion and render a perfectly running OS completely dead and useless leaving you with a frozen, non-functional Mac.
How many apps launch at startup/login?
Have you updated all of your third party software if there are OS X Mavericks updates that can be applied?
You may need to go the third party developers' websites if there are no updates through the Mac App Store.
Do you run any Google apps like Chrome or Drive?
Completely uninstall Google Chrome and/or drive per the instructions on Google's website. Currently, these Google apps are not playing well and are NOT 100% compatible/compliant with OS X Mavericks. Until Google releases a reliable and proper fix or update for OS X Mavericks, completely uninstall all Google apps. If you do not like Apple's Safari Web browser, as an alternative, try using Mozilla FireFox. Mozilla constantly updates FireFox and releases updates regularly.
Have you updated all of your Web browser Internet plugins and extensions, also?
Also, if you have any third party devices, like keyboards, mice, drawing tablets, hubs, card readers, audio/video external devices, etc, have you updated the drivers for these devices to OS X Mavericks compatible versions, as well?

Mac Sleep Bug?

In Mac OS X 10.4 on a powerbook and an ibook, my app looses
references to windows created by createRootWindow during a sleep.
My App opens notification window on a timer, which then looses all
reference to when the computer is woken up. Clicks on actionable
items within the notification no longer work, and calls from the
main app don't close the window.
I am creating my window as follows:

That's definitely just paranoia. First, because in sleep mode, there's no internet connection. The computer might as well be turned off as far as the network is concerned, and there's no activity in the computer other than a bare trickle of electricity to maintain the RAM. The processor is doing nothing.
Second, Macs are quite difficult to hack, and if you're on a wireless network, the wireless router protects you from incoming attacks from the outside world.
Of course, you should be able to leave Safari open with no open windows and not affect your ability to get online when it wakes up. If you can reproduce that reliably, and if I can as well (haven't had a chance to try it yet), then it should be reported to Apple.

Scheduled sleep bug

If your mac is already sleeping, when the scheduled time for it to sleep is reached, the mac wakes up!!!
I have 4 new Imacs here and they all do it.

I'm struggling with this problem for a long time now. (MSI GE60 0NC-622UK, OS: Windows 8.1, BIOS: 5.14)

I bought an 256GB SSD in it, so the 750GB HDD is now the secondary one. And the problem is, no matter what I set in Advanced Power Options (never, 0, 600) the OS always puts the hdd into sleep after around 10 seconds (the original windows 8.0 also did the same). The problem is with this the I HAVE to wait couple of seconds when the hdd spins up next time! :(

It's a small utility called KeepAliveHD (I could only install the v1.4.1 version, but it's working fine.)
So I'm curious is there any other solution beside using an external utility.

Lion 10.7(.1) wake from sleep bug? help?

When opening my computer the screen turns on instantly but the trackpad/mouse and keyboard are unresponsive for 2-3 seconds. I've searched around and can't find many people with the same problem... or nobody seems to mind?? I only have this problem with Lion (I've tried 10.7 and 10.7.1)
Any advice would be appreciated.

Alert tone problems

I have a new 4s and it won't play my alert tone when I get a text. I have checked all the settings and they seem to be correctly set. My ringtone works when I get a call, just can't figure out why it doesn't ring when I get a text. PLEASE HELP!

No, I have not found a solution to this problem. I already have my DNS set to 8.8.8.8 so I would say that is/was not an issue.
Periodically I will get the Facetime alert tone but for the most part, no alert.
Have not seen the video "Facetime sleep bug" but will look into it.

Since IOS8 update my iPad loses cellular service every time it exits sleep mode. Hard Reset has not helped.

Each time I wake iPad from Sleep mode since IOS8 update I have no cellular service. I have tried a Hard Reset as suggested by others, but the problem persists.

TS3367 facetime doesn't work well after upgrading to ios8. I need to make a call several times to connect.

Facetime doesn't work well after upgrading to ios8.
When I make a facetime call, it doesn't sound some times on the other side.
When it rings on the other side and is answered, it says (connecting), but it is still ringing on my side and never connected.
After that, I disconnect and make a second call, it sometimes connects, but not everytime.
I need to call several times to connect. It is really hard to connect through facetime after upgrading to ios8.
I purchased three iPad so far because of this good feature (facetime).
Please fix this issue as soon as possible.

Hi,
There are two easy fixes to this.
One, you can set up Family Sharing, in which you can have two different iCloud Accounts, yet still share the same apps, music, media etc.
Two, go to Settings and turn-off "Handoff". This can be found under the General page.
