Fade in text link on top of image

Hi,
I am fairly new to flash so forgive me if this is an easy
question. I have a flash header that will be made up of an image
being faded in then out to be replaced by another image etc for up
to four images. I have been able to do this fairly easily but what
I would like to do next is when each image has fully faded in, I
then fade in some text on top of the image which will become a link
to a page on the site. Each of the four images will have different
text and links associated with it.
Anyone got any suggesstions on how I can achieve this look
and functionality ?
Cheers
Macca

Make the text a movieclip or a button. Then you can fade it
and use it as a button.

  • Strange behaviour when placing text frame on top of image

    Hi,
    Win XP, FM 8.04
    I have a front cover that consists of a TIF image that bleeds off the page. On top of that image I want to put a text frame with the book title.
    The strange thing is that when I create the text frame and use the toolbar buttons to nudge it down on the page, the text (but not the frame) suddenly jumps to a totally different place way down on the page, despite only nudging it, say, 10 mm.
    Any ideas why this is happening?
    /Mats

    Hi,
    Partly solved:
    After some tests, it seems FM does not like when you try to move a text frame over a transparent area in an image. The image in question was made by importing a PDF into Photoshop, then saving as TIF. Since the PDF contained an area that was had full transparency in InDesign (i.e. "Paper"), that area was also in the TIF image.
    The strange behaviour starts exactly at the border where the transparency starts. In non-transparent areas, there is no problem.
    Seems like a bug.

  • How do I make text sit on top of an image without it disappearing.

    I am currently copying and pasting images with captions from quark express files to indesign cs6 files.
    Everytime I copy and paste these images the captions which are on top of the image disappear behind
    the image.  How do I put the text back on top of the image?  and in general how do you put text on top
    of an image without it disappearing?

    This is probably a really bad workflow that will end up biting you. I've not actually been able to copy a an image box from Quark and paste it into ID to test, so I don't know waht youare doing, exactly, but odds are you are not pasting a link to the image (doe sit show a link in ID's Links panel?). If not, you should be building this from scratch or opening the Quark file directly in ID (up to version 4 with out a plugin, later than that requires the Q2ID plugin from Markzware).

  • Help with positioning text links over image

    I'm creating a five page site with a different background
    color for each horizontal nav bar. I created a solid color graphic
    (780 x 30) and inserted it into my div. I now want to place my text
    links over the graphic but I can't seem to do it. It keeps
    appearing underneath. Someone recommended using a table and I'm
    wondering if this would be easier.
    Thanks!

    You have to use the image as a background image in your
    'navcontainer' <div>
    #navcontainer {
    background-image: url(images/nav_services.gif);
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    If you actually insert the image into the page, as you have
    done, it
    WILL push the text links down because its ABOVE them on the
    page.

    the cursor includes a text box from a previous image or link when the cursor is positioned on the side of the page. it will mainly happen when i hit "back" from the page i was on. i click and it goes away but only to return again on the next launched page. i also keep several tabs open and it will carry over to any one of them i go to. how do i get rid of this?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == when i upgraded to most recent version 3.6.8

    A number of extensions can cause that problem, you'll need to do a little troubleshooting to find out which extension is causing that to happen for you.

  • Getting text to appear on top of Image In InDesign 5

    I am struggling to get some text to appear on top of an image in InDesign 5. I did fiddle with layers but it doesn't appear to have multiple layers.
    Could someone walk me through making this work?
    Appreciate the help!
    Brian

    It seems that even if I turn the image off in layers, the text fiend does not sho up. In other words, if I create a text field outside the printable area for the boot, the text is displayed, but when I drag it into the printable area, the text goes blank.
    Let me get this one thing straight though: But draging the text layer entry above the image layer entry, the text layer would thus be above and on top(visable).??
    But it's not working as a result of the above mentioned. I still seems to have something to do with the image layer that exists on the page.
    Ooops! Bob, you hit the nail on the head. Although there was no text wrap spacing added, the text wrap was on. So, selecting a particular image and removing "text wrap" only applies the attributes only to that image. All other images still have text wrap on.....which is what I want.
    Thanks to all.

  • Why does my page loose formating when i add a text link on an image box?

    I wanted to make my own nav with texts links.  but i wanted to put the nav on an image like a black box.  when i add the text and then link them to pages they started to work when i previewed them in iweb.  But when i uploaded it to my ftp it messed up the formating on my page!  So I tried to add a new text box without a link on the same image... now it doesn't even show up.  What is the general rule of text on images? all i want to do is make a text nav on the image. Also i have made sure the image is sent back and the text to front.

    I don't know if you've fixed them since michaelfromrochester's suggestion but all of the links are white with green rollover for me now.
    If you haven't fixed them the clear your browser's cache (Command+Option+E for Safari) and reload the site.

  • Putting text on top of image

    I'm sure I've done this before but I just can't remember how.
    What I want to do is have an image with text over the top of it.
    However, the image can not be a background image because it needs
    to print. How do I do this?

    There's no way that's really pretty. The easiest and most
    expedient, if
    it's not too much text, is to make it part of the image. Make
    sure you
    include the text in the alt attribute... Other than that, if
    you're
    using positioned divs, you can put the image in one div,
    duplicate it,
    give the duplicate a higher z-index, and put the text in the
    higher z-
    index div. Or if it's really an issue (does the background
    /have/ to
    print?) is to make it as a PDF.

    saying to add TextField component on Graphics2D so I
    can type text in it.
    If anybody have done this please help
    ThanksHad the same problem - when I tried to overlay a TextField on top of my graphic the graphic repainted itself over the TextField. The (easier) solution was to put the image on its own JComponent within the JPanel I was writing too. This way the TextField could be made visible or invisible and laid on top of the image. More involved solutions would mean creating your own text editor on top of the graphic - this is covered in one of the Java tutorials, but you have to manage the details.

  • How to epub text on top of images.

    I am trying to epub a children's book. I have an basic color and then I bring the image on the page but indented. Then I put the text on top of the image.
    I have tried articles and I can't get the text to go ontop of the image. how do I do that. The images are jpegs. I tried png and psd.  I tried putting the text on the image in photoshop but when I brought it over to indesign, the text looked terrible.
    thanks

    Text and image would have to be rasterized together, either in Photoshop or in InDesign in EPUB. There is no concept of layering in an EPUB file.
    I don't think even fixed layout EPUBs support layering.

  • How to I add text on top of image? I am using pages version 5.2.2

    I am working on an apple desk top OSX version 10.9.4. Since the new pages version 5.2.2 came out, I have been unable to add text on top of an image. Can anyone help me? Thanks ahead of time.

    Pages v5 is not as flexible as Pages ’09 v4.3. If you want text over a free-standing image in your document, then you will need to place it in a Text Box, Shape, or other custom container created with the Unite, Intersect, Subtract, or Exclude items in the Arrange panel. Simply selecting the image and then, in the Arrange tab, stating move with text; setting wrap to none, and clicking back/ward — does not help.
    You will need one of the containers from the second sentence positioned on top of your image. Once your text is input and styled, select the Text Box and the image, then from the Arrange tab, select group to maintain your text/image spatial relationship. If you need the image and its text container to adapt to other text in your document, you can enable the wrap functionality that best suits your document goals.
    This can get interesting, because you can independently define the selected Text Box content as a text placeholder, and the image as a media placeholder. Save it as a template. When you open a new document with this template, you can drag and drop a new image onto the old one, and it is automatically scaled and replaced without effecting the Text Box content. You can then double-click the Text Box content and change it.

  • Styling text links

    I have text links in different sections of page that I want
    to look different from each other.
    I have done this many times and when I get one set the
    correct look the other does not.
    I have created a number of divs over time to create this
    andnow I think I can't get it because I need to get rid of these
    divs and start all over in getting this right.
    Can someone please help me in deleting the divs that I
    created to style the links?
    I don't want to erase something in error.
    Is it the external style sheet that you need to look at?

    If you want to style these links and clean up the code -
    <div id="nnn">
    <table width="574" height="50" align="center"
    cellpadding="5">
    <tr class="nnn">
    <td width="67" height="50"><div
    align="center"><a
    href="../index.html">home</a></div></td>
    <td width="77"><div align="center"><a
    href="obamabag.html">bags</a></div></td>
    <td width="106"><div align="center"><a
    href="../forum.html">blog-forum</a></div></td>
    <td width="102"><div align="center"><a
    href="../questions.html">questions</a></div></td>
    <td width="158"><div align="center">view
    shopping cart</div></td>
    </tr>
    then replace that with this -
    <div id="nnn">
    <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="5">
    <tr>
    <td width="67"><a
    href="../index.html">home</a></td>
    <td width="77"><a
    href="obamabag.html">bags</a></td>
    <td width="106"><a
    href="../forum.html">blog-forum</a></td>
    <td width="102"><a
    href="../questions.html">questions</a></td>
    <td width="158"><a href="../cart.html">view
    shopping cart</a></td>
    </tr>
    and add this to your CSS -
    div#nnn table { width:574px;margin:0 auto; border:none; }
    div#nnn td { text-align:center; }
    div#nnn a { color:#666; }
    div#nnn a:hover { color:#CCC; }
    If I have guessed wrong, let me know.
    Adding classes directly to the links or to the link
    containers is a very
    inefficient way to go, e.g.,
    <p class="style6"> </p>
    <p class="style6"> </p>
    <p class="style6"> </p>
    <p class="style6"> </p>
    <p class="style6"> </p>
    <p class="style6"> </p>
    or as Burman suggested -
    <a href=".." class="firstLink" title="...">this is the
    first link</a>
    <a href=".." class="scdLink" title="...">this is the
    second link</a>
    <a href=".." class="thrdLink" title="...">this is the
    third link</a>
    This latter suggestion would only make good sense if you
    needed to
    specifically style link a.scdLink (as opposed to
    a.firstLink), which you
    might want to do if you are using page-specific 'you are
    here' link styles.

    Hi
    I work only in DW and have no code experience at all/ I also do everything by visual

    Is this possible in CS4 DW

    Good afternoon All
    I wonder if you could help me.
    I am currently trying to centre pages and get my fireworks/spry website menu to work.
    On some of the pages the menus work and can be seen above the content however, on other pages, the content isn't centred, nor do the menu's work.
    When I created the templates for the website, I used the basic version supplied with the software that was supposed to centre the pages.

    while texting with more than one person at a time the incoming texts scrolls to top of conversation. anyone having this issue?

    I've heard claims it can be done, claims some have done it, and claims that it didn't work for them. This thread is interesting, some indications it should be possible, complaints that it didn't, and also an interesting work-around:
    "How do I text message multiple people at once?"

    You can ask Apple for iPhone changes via this link:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
    Though if you're requesting hardware changes for iPhone v2 you may want to wait a week (or a month?)...they're probably going to be inundated right now by requests for software changes to the current iPhone.

  • Can You Make Text Links Different Colours in DW Cs5?

    Hi everyone, in DW Cs5 how do you make text links on the same page different colours, I have some text links across the top of the page, these go with a certain colour scheme but some more on the page it's self these need to be a different colour.
    I have done this before by accident but unfortunately I have no longer got that file. Information for text in either html or css would be very helpful.
    Many thanks
