Failed to push XML template when setup SMD Managed system
Hi,
when I setup a managed system in SMD, I receive the warning:
XML Templates pushed : 0 successful, 1 failed
Failed to push XML template to sv50761/TP4/10 (sv50761.RUV.DE) : com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.ParserException: XMLParser: Bad Attribute value(:main:, row:10, col:79)(cause=com.sap.engine.lib.xml.pars
er.ParserException XMLParser: Bad Attribute value (:main:, row:10, col:79))
(Data Collect may fail due to missing templates)
Do you still want to proceed ? (Setup operations may fail due to warnings above)
when I check the xml-templates, at the mentioned row, there's the database-information: it shows "9.00.3068#" (a binary value, instead of #)
when I check the database in SMSY there's "9.00.3068#" in version as well, I can't change it there manually, because datasource is TMS/RFC.
In SLD the Version vor the database is displayed correct: 9.00.3068 (without #).
Where does the # occur & how to delete it? How can we setup managed systems without the warning?
kr, achim
Just came across this issue and this snote fixed it.

SQL Error 0 during DBACockpit setup in Managed System Configuration
Hi All,
I'm getting SQL Error 0 during DBA Cockpit setup in Managed system configuration. I'm trying to connect MsSQL 2005 from Linux system(Solution Manager 7.1 SP10). I have installed necessary ODBC and microsoft drivers. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Regards,
PragadeesIf I've understood you correctly, you are trying to setup a remote database connection from an SAP Solution Manager system running on Linux with a database which is NOT MSSQL to a database which is MSSQL running on Windows.
In that case have you checked these SAP notes ?

CarlosHi Shriraj,
ensure that the installation path is correct. I only put /urs/sap/<SID> and you must put /usr/sap/<SID>/DV***/.
In my case with that the setup returns all in green.
I hope it helps you

Creating PDF from XML directly in a content management system?
Hi!
This is my first post here and I've tried to find any previous posts that could answer my question but to no avail. Also I think and hope this is the correct sub forum to post it in.
I work at a company that produces a product catalogue that is published as a webpage, a PDF document (used as the basis for a tablet app) and a printed catalogue from a PDF. For the PDF (used in the tablet app and the printed catalogue) we are using a CMS based on XML that produces Adobe FrameMaker documents which we then export the PDF from. We are looking in to updating the system and make it flow much better but are a bit uncertain of what the best way to go would be.
A solution I'm thinking of would be to have the content of the product catalogue in some kind of XML based service that can export the information in XML. This would hopefully make it possible to send the documents either directly to PDF by XML and some style sheets or import the XML into some InDesign templates (for the more complicated designs at intro pages etc).
One important aspect of the product catalogue is that we have all information saved in different languages so there has to be some kind of connection between the templates and different language versions -- ie. the page design but different language text flows for each language edition.
What I wonder is. What kind of services/solutions would there be that handles XML to PDF for a quite complicated product catalogue (ie. the different language versions)?
Thanks in advance! The difference between the two packages is that PatternStream effectively works on a "pull" principle (the content is retrieved into the template(s) by queries at the appropriate locations), while Miramo is a "push" (the tagged content is processed by Miramo using templates to create the DTP files). SInce Miramo allows programatical processing before the content is pushed into the DTP app, you can do all sorts of manipulations, conditional processing, automatically insert markers and variables, etc. so it allows for a fairly complex layout, even with FrameMaker. It also allows api's and scripts to be triggered at the backend when the publication has been assembled for further processing/manipulation.
Is there any particular reason that you want to move from the FM engine to the ID one? In terms of throughpu,t FM streams run very much faster than ID ones. Also, unless the layouts are extremely complex, in an automated environment, there are very few catalogue layouts that I've seen that couldn't also be handled using a FM workflow.
Are there any samples on line of the types of catalogues that you are currently producing? This would help in assessing which tools and workflows might be more appropriate to your situation. -

Robohelp WebHelp or XML files in a Content Management System
My company is creating a developers portal that will provide tools and documentation for developers using our SDK. We are using the Orchard CMS and are in the process of deciding whether to import the RoboHelp-generated files (either HTML or XML) into the CMS database, or just publish the RoboHelp-generated files on the server and link to them from the CMS. Does anyone have any experience importing RoboHelp output into a CMS? I'm afriad the import process is going to be difficult. I'm also concerned that I won't get all of the features that I use like the index or glossary when it's imported into a different CMS.
Thanks for any information you can provide me.
CarrieI'm not saying it was wrong to ask here. It was just that you weren't getting any response and different people follow HATT. It occurred to me that someone there who did not follow this forum may have had experience of your scenario OR there might be someone with experience of Orchard who might have used it with some other authoring tool and been able to say that did or did not work.

No hosts found in SMD Managed Sytem Setup Wizard
Dear Experts,
I connected a Portal system to SMD server. I manaualy defined the system in SMSY instead of SLD.
When I went to the SMD Managed System Setup Wizard, it reported"No instances or
servers are defined for this system. Please check its definition in SMSY before proceeding to setup".
I've carefully checked all system definition in SMSY. I wonder if others have come across the similiar
problem, sincerely hoping for your advice.
Best Regards,
KarlHi, David,
I just can't find my installed agents in SLD view. But under Agent administration Agent Tab I can see them with status green. I installed agent without registration to SLD, but user directly P4 connection.
I tried go SMD view, I can see my agents there , and it has a column SLD settings, push SLD settings,
I clicked to push SLD settings, but an error occured:(Failed to send SLD settings to remote agent: sapeppap01 (detail: Failed to save new SLD settings; nested exception is: java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -1).

Hi,
My name is James Shieh. Does anyone has a PO XML template out there? I want to take the standard Oracle PO report (rdf file) and make it a XML report. Does anyone has a XML template already setup to go? Please advice.
Thanks. The template is in XSL-FO format rather than RTF format.
You can use an XML editing tool such as 'XMLSpy' to modify this template and add logos, additional fields, layout as required:
http://www.altova.com/products/xmlspy/xml_editor.html
Yes - it is very frustrating that Oracle Development created this template in XSL-FO format rather than using Word or RTF or something that is easier to manipulate! However, XSL-FO isn't that hard to learn if you put in a day or so of background study ;-) -

Thanks in advanceHi everyone,
Thanks everyone.
Guilherme, finally I understand what really happens. "Refresh" is not working properly in the Setup Wizard.
First I have done what I can:
System Type Managed Products Product Instances
DPI ABAP SAP Netweaver PI 7.1 Application Server ABAP (I could not select PI at the same time)
DPI JAVA SAP Netweaver PI 7.1 Application Server Java + Process Integration
But, when I refresh the browser Internet Explorer appears the following:
System Type Managed Products Product Instances
DPI ABAP SAP Netweaver PI 7.1 Application Server ABAP + Process Integration
DPI JAVA SAP Netweaver PI 7.1 Application Server Java + Process Integration
And then I do not get the error anymore. (I have to repeat step 2 in the wizard "Check Prerequisites for Diagnostics)
And If I run transaction SMSY, I can see how PI is mantained since the wizard refresh SMSY.
Product Instance Selection tab:
Application Server ABAP (Flag selected: relevant)
Process Integration (Flag selected: Also Installed, Technical System[ DPI, Java])
Application Server Java (Flag selected: relevant, Technical System[ DPI, Java])
So, if I use this configuration in the SMSY, when I run "solman_setup", configuring DPI (My PI7.1), when I run "Configure Diagnostics", the wizard shows ABAP + PI as expected.
Thanks a lot Guilherme!! -
Solman_admin password changes results in errors during managed system setup
Hello all,
I am trying to get Solman 4.0 EHP 1 to work, but get numberous problems.
Currently I have 6 messages at SAP, but no solution yet.
Situation:
Solman 4.0
SAP_BASIS 701 0003
SAP_ABA 701 0003
ST-PI 2008_1_700 0000
PI_BASIS 701 0003
SAP_BW 701 0003
CRMUIF 500 0001
SAP_AP 700 0014
BBPCRM 500 0013
CPRXRPM 400 0014
BI_CONT 704 0002
ST 400 0019
ST-A/PI 01L_CRM570 0000
ST-ICO 150_700 0016
ST-SER 701_2008_2 0002
So, it is uptodate.
The problem:
Changing the solman_admin password results in errors during connecting a managed system.
In the inital setup the solman_admin is created with a pasword.
After the basic setup I setup some managed systems.
In the meantime I had to change the password of solman_admin
I am logged in with solman_admin and do solman_setup to setup the managed system.
During the setup a process tries to logon back to the solman using solman_admin and the incorrect password.
This is the logging:
Step SSO Details
Found SID for SSO ACL entry : MSD
Found login.ticket_client for SSO ACL entry : 000
The Read entry permission on TicketKeystore/SAPLogonTicketKeypair-cert was given to sap.com/tcwebadministratorsolmandiag/servlet_jsp/smd/root/WEB-INF/lib/SetupLib.jar
The TicketKeystore/SAPLogonTicketKeypair-cert was succesfully read (823 bytes)
A failure occured while connecting to ABAP stack on localhost sys=70 client=300 user=SOLMAN_ADMIN
!! Exception : Password logon no longer possible - too many failed attempts
A failure occured while importing ABAP SSO ticket certificate in ABAP stack
!! Exception : java.lang.NullPointerException
Java SSO ticket certificate of MSD was imported in ABAP PSE of kswv024.mob.local (client 300)
The Java SSO ticket certificate was successfully imported in ABAP System PSE, and the ACL updated accordingly (SID=MSD LoginTicketClient=000)
Anyone else has this problem?
gr
SanderJust for clarification it's Solman 7.0 EHP1 correct?
Also you may want to unlock the following user:
localhost sys=70 client=300 user=SOLMAN_ADMIN
Then if you navigate (in solution manager) to TCode solman_workcenter -> "Root Cause Analysis" tab ->"Agent Administration" menu item on the left -> "Applications Configuration" tab -> under the Agent Applications - Configuration menu on the left select "com.sap.smd.agent.application.global.configuration" -> Change the "Scope" drop down in the frame to the right to the SMD agent that you are using for "localhost sys=70 client=300" -> Click the "edit" button to the right of the Scope drop down box -> now find the entry below that lists "SOLMAN_ADMIN" as the user and find the corresponding password entry and update it with the new password that you changed it to -> click save and try the managed setup again.
Hope this helps, please let me know and we can go from there. -
If anyone is able to solve this they are a genius (or I am doing something very stupid!)
I am trying to reinstall CS5.5 Master Collection from DVD media on Windows 7 64 bit PC but setup.exe fails due to a msxml3.dll error.
Following a big bundle of recent Windows 7 updates, I started getting 'bad image' msxml3.dll error messages when opening any CS5.5 master collection program (Eg Premiere / Photoshop / Illustrator / Dreamweaver). Following advice on some threads here I tried uninstalling and then using the Adobe CC Cleaner Tool to clean up install, then reinstalling from my original DVD media.
Whenever I try using run setup.exe from installtion disc 1 the installing fails due to 'Missing files'. I have also tried dowloading trial versions and runing setup.exe fro mthe downloaded files but i still get the same message.
I have searched the forum and others have experienced this error but none of the solutions I have found seem to be working for me - as many seem to relate to download installations whereas I am installing from original DVD media (which worked fine before on the same PC)
These are the FATAL messages from the PDApp log
12/11/2014 15:29:27 [FATAL] PIM - Failed to Create XML instance : DOMDocument40 ADXML::initWithXMLPath Error:80040154
12/11/2014 15:29:27 [FATAL] Setup - Could not initialize ADXML object
12/11/2014 15:29:27 [FATAL] Setup - Unable to initialize. Error parsing setup.xml file
The PDApp troubleshooting seems to indicate that this is caused by error in downloads but I am getting it with both original media DVD and downloads.
I have also tried using my logon (which has admin privileges) and under our main admin account - and I get the same errors.
Is a clean install of Windows 7 + CS5.5 my only option?
Any help / info / advice / solutions very much appreciated! I have spent the last 2 days trying to sort this out and seem to be getting nowhere.
Thanks. Thanks for the reply kglad - much appreciated.
I have already tried that option (along with downloading files) as it was one of the solutions mentioned on other threads, but that also failed.
Any other ideas? -
This is the first time i have encountered a laptop straight from OEM with two physical SATA disks (Disk 0 = 256gb SSD, disk 1 = 750GB HDD). [this might not be relevant, but as all other machines are working fine with this TS+WIM, i will mention it.]
During the task sequence, after the WIM is applied and the device reboots, the Windows setup fails and displays a general Unattend error (stating the specialized pass has failed) There is no unattend.xml specified in the apply operating system image step,
so the only unattend.xml is the one generated by the task sequence.
When looking at the C:\Windows\Panther\Unattend\Unattend.xml everything seems OK to me.
Here is the end of the setupact.log
