  • MailServiceHelper Failed while sending email java.lang.NullPointerException

    Hi guys,
    I am trying to send email with Adobe CQ API.
    But i am getting a nullpointer exception at this line:  MsgGateway.send(htmlEmail);
    This is my method that i am using to send.
    import com.day.cq.mailer.MessageGateway;
    import com.day.cq.mailer.MessageGatewayService;
    import javax.mail.internet.InternetAddress;
       public boolean sendHtmlEmail(SlingHttpServletRequest sling,
                String fromMailAdress, List<String> recepientmailAddress,
                String emailSubject, String htmlbodyMail) {
            HtmlEmail htmlEmail = new HtmlEmail();
            List<InternetAddress> emailAddress = new ArrayList<InternetAddress>();
            try {
                for (String recipient : recepientmailAddress) {
                    if (!StringUtil.isEmpty(recipient)) {
                        emailAddress.add(new InternetAddress(recipient));
                        log.error(recipient);
                if (!StringUtil.isEmpty(fromMailAdress)) {
                    htmlEmail.setFrom(fromMailAdress);
                htmlEmail.setTo(emailAddress);
                htmlEmail.setSubject(emailSubject);
                htmlEmail.setHtmlMsg(htmlbodyMail);
                htmlEmail.setCharset("utf-8");
                MessageGatewayService MsgService = getMessageGateWayService(sling);
                MessageGateway<HtmlEmail> MsgGateway = MsgService.getGateway(HtmlEmail.class);
                MsgGateway.send(htmlEmail);   //nullpointer exception caught here
                return true;
            } catch (Exception e) {
                log.error("Failed while sending email", e);
            return false;
    I have checked to ensure the bundle com.day.cq.cq-mail and my own bundle is running .
    I am also sure that 'htmlEmail' is not null by retrieving the email subject via .getSubject and it did return me the subject.
    I do not understand what is returning the nullpointerexception.
    Thanks in advance !

    The MessageGateway instance (MessageGateway<HtmlEmail> MsgGateway) is null therby throwing a null pointer.
    Instead of instanciating msgGateway as :
    MessageGatewayService MsgService = getMessageGateWayService(sling);
    MessageGateway<HtmlEmail> MsgGateway = MsgService.getGateway(HtmlEmail.class);
    Inject your MessageGateway as:
    @Reference
    private MessageGateway<HtmlEmail> msgGateway;
    and then call send on msgGateway as msgGateway.send(htmlEmail)

  • Java.lang.NullPointerException while reimporting model

    Hi All,
    I have a Web Dynpro project that contains several models.

  • Sender  Mail Adapter - java.lang.NullPointerException in CC monitoring

    hi,
    I configured my Sender Mail Adapter correctly.
    I have the correct POP URL, authentication. I'm not using PayloadSwapBean right now.
    I can't get rid of the exception inside my Channel monitoring.
    exception caught during processing mail message; java.lang.NullPointerException
    does anyone know why?
    I've been told the POP account has emails already.
    I will try to create an outlook account for this POP e-mail account in the mean time to see the e-mails.
    Thank you

    thanks aaron.
    I don't see the folder ./SYS/../j2ee/...
    will it be under another folder?  I don't see a trace log folder either.
    I think the problem might be in the Module tab.
    I tried.
    AF_Modules/PayloadSwapBean
    localejbs/AF_Modules/PayloadSwapBean
    /localejbs/AF_Modules/PayloadSwapBean
    sap.com/com.sap.aii.adapter.mail.app/XIMailAdapterBean
    localejbs/sap.com/com.sap.aii.adapter.mail.app/XIMailAdapterBean
    /localejbs/sap.com/com.sap.aii.adapter.mail.app/XIMailAdapterBean
    they all produce the same error. I wonder if these Beans actually exist.
    I think we might have to reinstall this Mail Adapter altogether.
    Or maybe it's really the connection to the Mail Server. But would it display this kind of message.
    This is what I'm looking at.
    Also, i had to use this URL
    pop://server:995/
    (995 is using SSL and it is the default port).  When I use this, I see the Java Null Pointer Exception a lot less frequently. Weird.

  • Sender mail adapter java.lang.NullPointerException

    Hi Experts,
    I have a Mail --> PI --> R/3 scenario and I am configuring the Mail sender adapter for POP3. The issue is that the POP server is not configured to be accessed via a URL and hence the URL pop://hostname/ is causing the following error at runtime:
    1. When I use pop://FQDN host name/
    Error: exception caught during processing mail message; java.net.UnknownHostException
    2. When I use pop://IP address of host:port/
    Error: exception caught during processing mail message; java.lang.NullPointerException
    I am able to ping the POP3 server from the PI server using both the FQDN and IP address.
    Can someone please help.
    Thanks,
    Shobhit

    Hi,
    I think this problem is due to POP3 configuration at PI  basis level.  Check with basis team whether they have configured POP3 configuration at PI basis level or not.

  • Java.lang.NullPointerException: null  error sending email

    I built a very simple process:
    Here are settings for email startpoint:
    Email settings on server:
    My local mail server is working fine.
    When i send  an email to [email protected] i receive such answer:
    LiveCycle ES has tried to process your request and encountered the following error:
    java.lang.NullPointerException: null
    Procces recording is empty. It means that it doesnt even start, right?
    Any suggestions? What`s wrong?

    From the existing process remove the "Route" from "Email startpoint" to "Send with Documents", so here it can be tested "Email startpoint" alone. To test this send an email to configured email inbox and check that is processed or not.
    Create another new process and place only "Send with Documents" service.
    From livecycle workbench can invoke the each process on its own, to test is these services are working properly.
    Logs can be found in server, get the path(may be websphere/weblogic/jbos) details from your environment.

  • File send adapter error : java.lang.NullPointerException

    Hi All,
    I have an issue on some of the file sender adapter communication channels .The channels are failing with the error :
    Error :"Attempt to process file failed with java.lang.NullPointerException"
    This issue is happening for couple of file sender channels.When I try to stop and start the channels couple of times the failed messages are getting processed.And after the processing of the failed file, the new files are successfully polling as usual.
    Please share your experiences as on why this issue is happening and what is the permanent fix for the issue ?
    Thanks in Advance !
    Thanks & Regards,
    Roni

    Hi Roni,
       Try with a J2EE restart of the PI server. Hope that will solve your problem.
    Thanks,
    Anudeep

    Pretty much the same thing, Tomcat is the web server in CUCM, so that should have been sufficient.

  • Java.lang.NullPointerException at com.sun.mail.iap.Response.parse

    I am getting this error when I try to download a message using IMAP from exchange server
    java.lang.NullPointerException

         at com.sun.mail.imap.protocol.IMAPProtocol.fetchBody(IMAPProtocol.java:645)
    This error occurs intermittantly. I placed one large mail (around 600 MB) and few normal size mails on exchange server. In few testing runs, this error occured while downloading the large mail as well as one normal mail. In one test run, all mails got downloaded successfully.
    Could anyone please suggest the cause and resolution?
    Thanks.

    I turned on the session debugging. I am running my application on Linux, so the debugging info was moved to a log file. This log file is very large (around 1GB) and I am unable to open it.
    One more thing: I am trying Message.writeTo() method to download the message. If an OutOfMemoryError occurs, I catch it and try to download the message using GetInputStream. NullPointerException is occuring in both the cases.
    Exception stack trace with writeTo():
