  • Error SOAP: call failed: java.io.IOException: Read timed out; HTTP 200 OK

    Hi PI gurus,
      Need some suggestions on one issue below -
      Scenario - proxy (SAP) to SOAP (Web based system)
      In the RWB Communication Channel Monitirong we are receiving the below error
      " Error SOAP: call failed: java.io.IOException: Read timed out; HTTP 200 OK"
    the request from XI system is going to target system and printing the lables (as per the functionality) with no issues but the comminication channel is giving the above error and this is causing the repeated sending the same request to target sytem and the data is printing repeateadly. This issues is occuring in Quality environment.
    Strangley the same Interface with the same connectivity details is working fine in Development environment. But not working in Quality environment. Checked the firewalls settings on both in XI and Target system side and confirmed that everything is fine.
    Below are the Logs both from Quality and developement are as follows
    Quality ( Failure Case)
    17.03.2011 07:19:59 Success SOAP: request message entering the adapter with user J2EE_GUEST
    17.03.2011 07:25:03 Error SOAP: call failed: java.io.IOException: Read timed out; HTTP 200 OK
    Development     (Success ful)
    17.03.2011 07:27:55 Success SOAP: request message entering the adapter with user J2EE_GUEST
    17.03.2011 07:27:58 Success SOAP: completed the processing
    When we checked with basis team on user id J2EE_GUEST,  they confirmed that they are same in Development and Quality.
    I repeat,, that the same target url and everthing is same in XI Configuration
    Thanks in Advance. Points would be rewared for the best solution.
    Thanks,
    Jitender

    HI Jitender,
          If your scenariois working in DEV and if it is not working in QAS.Could you please check if both the systems are at same patch levels..
    Please refer below notes :1551161,817894,952402.

  • SOAP: call failed: java.io.IOException

    Hi gurus,
    I was executing several stress-tests for an interface between to non-SAP systems over PI, that both use async SOAP adapter communication.
    The requirement is to transfer up to 70mb files with single files. I executed the tests successfully with a 50MB message size and lower, and then I tried with a 70MB message, but the message failed and got this error in the adapter log:
    SOAP: call failed: java.io.IOException: invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/HTML; HTTP 500 Internal Server Error
    I believe this is coming from the adapter itself and not from the receiving system. I have checked the binary message data from the messaging system and it looks perfectly fine.
    Any ideas why this is happening? Is there a limitation for message sizes with the SOAP adapter?
    I also checked the messaging system configuration settings in the AS Java but could not find anythig related to the SOAP adapter.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    S. Gökhan TOPÇ

    Hi Gokhan,
    I believe this is coming from the adapter itself and not from the receiving system. I have checked the binary message data from the messaging system and it looks perfectly fine.
    I believe this is a client-side error, as your request was not properly addressed and the SOAP service was not reached.
    Any ideas why this is happening? Is there a limitation for message sizes with the SOAP adapter?
    Well, SAP's message size limit is huge but a lot depends on your receiving server's capabilities and network connections. So, you might not be able to reach the SAP's tested message size. In my project, I am able to do a max of 55 megs through SOAP.
    Hope this helps.
    regards,
    Neetesh

  • SOAP: call failed: java.io.EOFException

    Hi all,
    I have build a proxy to soap scenario that generates errors during runtime. The scenario
    consists of an ABAP program consuming a webservice through PI. The communication
    channel shows the following errorlog:
    - Message processing started
    - request entering
    - SOAP: call failed: java.io.EOFException: Connection closed by remote host.
    - Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.
    MessagingException: java.io.EOFException: Connection closed by remote host.
    Does anyone know the cause of this error?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ivo

    Hi Ravi,
    although I was able to reach the URL through a webbrowser, this problem was indeed caused by unavailability of the webservice. I just tried the connection without making any changes in PI and everything is working fine now.
    Case closed.
    Regards,
    Ivo

    It seems that SP2 of our product ran into some type of bug in WAS 6.0. I believe 6.1 resolves or see this KB for a fix.

  • Client 11gR2 install on Win 7 Pro fails java.lang.NullPointerException

    I'm attempting to install the Oracle 11gR2 Client on a windows 7 professional (32 bit) system and the install is failing.
    I've downloaded the latest client files from this web link:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle11g/112010_win32soft.html
    I launch the install with a user account that is a member of the local machine administrators.
    A command window opens, the text says that the system passed the minimum resolution test and that it's preparing to launch the Oracle Universal Installer.
    After about 10 seconds an application error window pops open that says java.lang.NullPointerException with an OK button. Pressing OK ends the install session.
    This is a new Dell (E5400) laptop that has never been deployed. It has the latest java version (and updates) installed,
    Does anyone have an idea on how I can resolve the install issue?
    Thanks!

    I have looked into channel monitoring / RWB again.
    There I saw, this PI is using two clusters on two application servers.
    Everytime the SOAP call is executed through the frist cluster, all was fine.
    But no SOAP call was successfully executed by the second cluster.
    Fortuity? No!
    The second cluster node / app server wasn´t registered for internet access in the used proxy server.
    So it wasn´t an PI issue.
    Now, all is fine & I´m happy!
    Thanks @all for helping!
    Cheers,
    André

  • SOAP Receiver Adapter Error in XI RWB - java.lang.NULLPointerException

    Hi,
    We have a asynchronous scenario in SAP-XI, where we are sending the PO data from SRM to third party (Hubspan / TNT). Proxy is being used at Sender side and SOAP Adapter is used for Receiver Communication Channel.
    u2022SRM is sending around 1000 messages through background job and around 995 or 996 messages are being processed successfully and showing the proper XML payload as well in RWB. But 4-5 messages are getting failed in XI RWB for u2018java.lang.NullPointerExceptionu2019. For these failed messages we are not able to see the XML payload as well in XI RWB while these messages are showing successful status in MONI in SRM and XI and we are able to see the payload as well in MONI. The webservice is restarting and trying to send the payload three times in RWB, but it is getting the same Nullexception error.

    u2022If we are resending the failed message from XI RWB, it is getting failed again with the same error. On the other hand if we are initiating the message again from SRM to Hubspan for the same PO, it is getting processed successfully in RWB but still not showing XML payload in RWB.
    u2022If we are getting the payload from XI MONI for the failed message and doing a test with component monitoring in RWB, it is working fine.
    Please help me to solve this issue.
    Thanks
    Sumit

    Hi Sumit,
    From my experience, when you transfer  SAP POs through PI to external webservice, there should be some validation happens at the webservice layer of the target system before the web service passes the original information to  their application layer. The validation can be anything like checking the Vendor address, Checking the correctness of the order ...etc etc . So i would suggest to ask your external web service folks to check if they have any validation in place before they pass the data to their application layer.
    As you said only some POs/XMLs are failing, i strongly feel that this could be the issue.
    Please note if you receive response code other than 200 from webservice, SOAP adapter treats that as error and send the same message back to AE.
    Normally webservices won't send 200 code for any validation error
    PS: you can still try to use XMLSpy to post the failed message to the web service to know the exact cause.

  • Java.lang.NullPointerException exception in SOAP Receiver adapter

    Hi Experts,
    I have a requirement where a third party system will call a service(WSDL) generated from ID to receive some details from SAP system.
    The design and configuration part everything was created and was able to receive requests from third party system successfully till last week. But suddenly we are receiving the below error from today,
    SOAP: call failed: java.lang.NullPointerException: while trying to invoke the method com.sap.aii.af.sdk.xi.mo.xmb.XMBMessageHeader.getMessageId() of an object loaded from local variable messageHeader
    i went through some of the threads in SDN, but still we are receiving the same error.
    Could any one can help me on this?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Getting "java.lang.NullPointerException" error message when trying to run an OATS OpenScript file from Eclipse to Create a record in Oracle EBS

    Hello,
    I'm trying to run a simple OpenScript script in Eclipse that creates a record (a Supplier in this case) in Oracle E-Business Suite. So I copied the the script file from OpenScript and created it as a Class in Eclipse.  Then I created a main class to call the methods within the script class but no matter what method I call (initialize, run or finalize) I'm getting the java.lang.NullPointerException message. The error doesn't seem to be related with any specific line in the script but with the way that I'm calling it.
    Should I call the OpenScript class from my main class in a different way? (see my examples below)
    BTW, all external .jar files coming with OATS have been added to my project in Eclipse.
    1) Here's the main class I created to call the OpenScript method (Eclipse auto-corrected my main class adding a Try and Catch around the method call):
    public class Test {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            nvscript nvs = new nvscript();
            try {
                nvs.initialize();
            } catch (Exception e) {
                // TODO Auto-generated catch block
                e.printStackTrace();
    2) Here's the script from OpenScript (the actual script has more steps but I'm just using the first one for a proof of concept):
    import oracle.oats.scripting.modules.basic.api.*;
    import oracle.oats.scripting.modules.browser.api.*;

    UPDATE
    Compiling from command line I found out that the class definition for oracle.oats.scripting.modules.basic.api.IteratingVUserScript is missing. Do you know what .jar file contains this class?

    hi,
    restarting the java stack would be enough. You can do that at SMICM. Before you should deregister all queues in SMQR so that incoming messages has to wait in the queue. Of coz all synchronous msgs would fail, as well messages going to your Java Inbound Adapters.
    note:reward points if solution found helpfull.....
