Family license for Lion

Anyone know how to purchase a family license for Lion downloads via the App store?

Thanks,
I should have searched the blogs for the answer before posting the question. I see it was already answered.
Thank you though, for the quick response.

  • HT4461 Hello I have just installed my license for OS v 10.6.3 and installed the upgrades on a new hard drive. I would like to upgrade to my license for Lion. How do I do this (through the Apple Store I guess). Cheers

Hello, I have just installed my license for Mac OS v 10.6.3 and installed updates including security updates.
I have a licence for Lion that is sitting on Apples computer somewhere.
How do I access my account and install Lion on my machine?
Beyond that I want to upgrade to Maverick but given I work out the first step upgrading to Maverick should be easy.
    Thanks, Julian R A

OS X Lion could be purchased from the Mac App Store (and now, at the Apple Online Store). Once you purchase it, you can download it as many times as you want for free.
Open  > Software Update, and install the most recent Mac OS X version. It should be Mac OS X 10.6.6 or newer. Then, open the Mac App Store, go to Purchases, log in with your Apple ID and download OS X Lion. Make a backup before upgrading and check that your apps are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com
You can upgrade to OS X Mavericks from Mac OS X 10.6.6 or newer without any problem, so upgrading to OS X Lion first is a waste of time. Open the Mac App Store and download OS X Mavericks

  • Volume licensing for Lion in a business (50  nodes)?

So based on this article: http://osxdaily.com/2011/06/17/mac-os-x-10-7-lion-volume-licensing-info-for-educ ation-business-customers/ We should be able to go to the Apple Store Business site and purchase a volume license. The link on that page redirects me to the App Store and the same place you go as a regular home user. There is also a Volume license link about mid page but only has Snow Leopard as an OS choice. Is Apple just not on the ball in terms of getting their site updated to support this?
This is really frustrating to say the least.

Good Afternoon,Ive been trolling the forums and found an older thread that kinda tounched base on it but never got around to the nitty gritty so I decided to start a new one to get the groups consensus and to also pull the VMware rep out of hiding. I sent him a few PMs without a response.I would like to get some sort of virtualization lab set up at home. I have a dedicated r710 now running the freebie esxi license you get after you register. Its working for the moment but I cant login through its webpage cause it only works with vcenter. I would also like to expirement a little further with Horizons View environment and pushing VDI to some thin clients (im terrified of CryptoWall and I know my kids would love to destroy my movie library). Plus we use all this technology at my work and would like to freshen up since Im a hyper-v guy by...

  • Licensing for Lion OSX

I have an iMac at work and recently purchased and MacBook Pro, I need to process a fresh install on the MBP and I was wondering if I had to purchase another copy of Lion or can I just do it online. for the record Recovery isn't an option and my MBP is a Mars 2012 model.
Obviously it was registred to the previous owner but it has now been transfered to me.
    R.

You see but the problem is (althought both machines are registred to my name and account at apple).
When I try to install lion on the MBP from the internet, it's asking me to validate my purchase with the appstore and because I never purchased the Lion via app store, it's being rejected.
This is quiet messy and I have now a working iMAC and a MBP with no OS whatso ever and not even a recovery partition.
I am really confused on what would be the next move to have the OS installed on my MBP, I could have always downloaded the DMG from the net and create a bootbale version, I am just not interessted on piracy at all.

  • Family pack for lion

i see that you can install on two virtual OS's, but single user. will there be a family pack coming??

You don't need a family pack. As long as you are using the same Apple ID you can install it on all the machines in your house or on family members who are away at school.

  • Is there an Aperture Family License?

I am wondering whether there is such a thing as a family license for Aperture as is sold for Leopard or iWork? We have 3 separate users in the household and ... you do the math. I can't find anything on the site, but thought someone might know.

Nope, no family license for Aperture. It's more of a "pro" product than a "consumer/home" product, with commensurate (though it's 60% cheaper now than at release!) pricing.

  • 4 Macs in the family, do i need to buy a Lion license for each mac?

4 Macs in the family, do i need to buy a Lion license for each mac?

No, you only need to buy 1 license for one of the systems. Then you can go to another system in your household, login to the App Store with the same login you used previously, download/install Lion for that system and so on.

  • Just updated my mac from Tiger to Mountain Lion. Loaded Photoshop elements 11 (brand new in the box) and when I try to start it - it comes up saying - Licensing for the product has stopped working contact for help.

I just updated my mac from Tiger to Mountain Lion.  wiped the computer clean and started fresh Loaded Photoshop elements 11 (brand new in the box) and when I try to start it - it comes up saying - Licensing for the product has stopped working contact for help. in Looking for help I was directed here. what do I do?

I don't know enough to not follow directions. I bought the software brand new in a sealed from factory box. Had it sitting around until - last week when I deleted flash on my computer and had to upgrade to the new OSX. Mountain Lion doesn't use iPhoto - so I had to go with something else. Since I already had this new - unopened package  I opened it up. Shut down all running programs - inserted the disk and followed all the directions for installation.  Still it didn't work.
I have now uninstalled it (the proper way) and am going to try again.
    I appreciate your responses.
    Thank you!
If this doesn't work - I am going to just buy Lightroom.

  • Does OS X Lion have a license for 2-3 home Macs?

Does OS X Lion have a license for 2-3 home Macs?

If you download Lion from the App Store you can install it on as many computers that you personally own. It can be re-downloaded from every computer running Snow Leopard and logged into the App Store with the same Apple ID used to purchase Lion.

  • Is there a family license option of creative cloud available for purchase

Is there a family license option of creative cloud available for purchase

As of now, no. There are two license options for Creative Cloud: individual regular licenses, and volume licenses targeted at businesses: http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/companies.html
The Creative Cloud license agreement allows for subscribers to download and install Adobe applications from Creative Cloud on up to two computers. These applications can be used by you and your family, but the same application cannot be running simultaneously on both computers.

  • Lion family license

I have three mac notebooks.  Two of them are Macbook Pros and the other is a Macbook.  Should I upgrade to Lion and then turn around and upgrade to Mountain Lion or is it possible to just go straight to Mountain Lion?  I currently run 10.6.8.  Thanks

And the good news is that for $19.99 you can download ML to as many computers as you own or control in a non cemmercial environment. That is an improvement over the Family pack cost for Lion.
-you could do that with Lion also.

  • Volume Licensing for Single Font [family]

My company is interested in using a single font for documents created through automation. Typically, automation will create an original document that will then be reviewed and edited by multiple users. So ultimately we'll need to install the font on something like 200 end user's computers in order for them to see the document with the corect font (Word format).
What kind of volume licensing would we need for this purpose? I don't seem to see individual font licensing for anything over a few seat licenses.
I'd appreciate any insight. Thanks in advance.

Each font license on Adobe's Type Store is good for up to five users, and we provide a sliding discount scale for up to 99 licenses.
To cover 200 users, all you need to do is to buy 40 licenses.

  • License for Snow Leopard upgrade

I upgraded my Mac mini to Snow Leopard a few months ago by purchasing the $29 upgrade disk (I was previously running 10.5.8). I now want to upgrade my wife's MacBook, which is also running 10.5.8. Do I need to purchase another Snow Leopard disk?
While it may be possible to do the upgrade from the disk I already have, I don't want to violate any licensing agreements. I don't have either of the Macs or the SL disk in front of me right now, so I don't have access to the EULA. Just hoping I could get a quick answer so I know whether I need to stop by the Apple Store on the way home.
    Thanks!

Yes. Unless you purchase a Family license (up to 5 users) a single-user license is limited to one CPU at a time. For two computers it's cheaper to buy another copy of Snow Leopard than to purchase the Family Pack. For three to five computers the Family Pack is the best deal.

  • Licensing for Acrobat 9 Pro has quit working  - How to fix this

I just subscribed to the Photography plan that gives me access to Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5.  I already own Design Creative Suite CS3 and Adobe Acrobat Pro (9).  When I downloaded the application manager and began to download PS & LR it showed all applications and most listed as the option "Try" and on Acrobat XI Pro it indicated "Up To Date."  Once I downloaded and installed the PS & LR applications I tried to open a .pdf to do some research.  I got the following message as Acrobat Pro tried to open:
Licensing for this product has stopped working.
You cannot use this product at this time.  You must repair the
problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or
contacting your IT adminstrator or Adobe customer support
    for help.
I uninstalled Acrobat XI and Acrobat 9 from my computer, restarted it, then re-installed Acrobat Pro 9 from the CS3 installation disk.  When done I tried to open a .pdf and got the same message.  I restarted the computer and tried again and got the same message.  I then did a Verify Permissions & Repair Permissions and Checked the Disc.  (BTW this is all on a Mac with Snow Leopard 10.6.8 o/s.  I have the 10.8 Mountain Lion o/s disk on the way, so I can't install/use LR 5 until that is done.  anyway...)
Since it is Sunday and there is NO Adobe Customer Support and there is no IT department in my house, what do you think I should do?  As an aside, the initial download/install for Photoshop CC hung at 44% installed.  I did online chat with Bhartha at Adobe and he managed to do nothing but make my system worse.  So I got away from him and repaired the damage he caused when I did the "screen share" operation with him.  IM not so HO, Adobe's support system, what's the technical term?, SUCKS.  If I had any good options to Photoshop and Lightroom I would use them, but for now I'd be stuck with something worse, like GIMP and Aperture.  Okay, that's my rant about the sub-standard approach Adobe has to support.  Apparently they feel that once you have their product then you're stuck with it and if they give you crappy service, so what?  I hopefully await the day when Adobe gets bought and ruined by Microsoft.  Like the old days when the phone company was one big corporation.  Their motto:  We Don't Care.  We Don't Have To.  Adobe seems to have adopted that idea.
Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem

Everything was fine until I downloaded & installed PS CC.  I had a copy of Acrobat 9 I had purchased.  There was also a folder for AA XI I had previously downloaded as a Cloud member, but had cancelled that and did not use AA XI.  Everything in CS worked fine for the last 2-3 years, until this download.  As I stated, the download "hung" on install the first time at 44% install & I contacted Adobe via the chat line.  Why a download of Photoshop CC would wreak havoc on my functional Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro (or XI Pro, for that matter), is something they couldn't explain, and they couldn't fix.  They provided no help whatsoever...in point of fact the tech guy didn't actually seem to know how to navigate on a Mac.  First thing he did, using the "Screen Share" process, was open the Parallels partition and boot Windows.  And since this problem had nothing to do with my Windows/Parallel partition it was clear he didn't have a clue.   Everything he did after that just confirmed his ineptitude, right up until I turned the computer off to get rid of him.
At any rate, I used the step-by-step procedures delineated in 3 other forum discussion threads which all said do the same thing.  I did.  It did not help.  Of course I will call Adobe tomorrow and I'm sure they will not have any solution either.  Which is why I unsubscribed to the Cloud account.  Every time they had updates for any application the installs would fail and then the previously installed programs wouldn't work and I would have to uninstall & reinstall EVERYTHING.  That was their solution.  The brilliant minds of Adobe Tech Support in action.  "Did you try powering if off and then back on...?"
At risk of being seen as a person with an actual opinion based on experience, I will say that ADOBE TECH PERSONNEL ARE MORONS.  Of course they're in Kuala Lumpur or some other seemingly exotic place (unless, of course, that's where you are, in which case Des Moines, Iowa seems exotic), so maybe they don't get very good training on the products they are supposed to support.  Adobe doesn't care about good support.  They already have your money and they pretty much have a monopoly on a few of their niches (Photoshop, Lightroom).  Any place you can find another manufacturer's product that competes with Adobe, for example Corell's Painter vs.  Adobe Illustrator, the other manufacturer's product is ALWAYS BETTER.  ALWAYS.  So I am stuck with Adobe products due to occupational need, and stuck with their sub-standard support.  Whether by design or omission, ADOBE DOES NOT SUPPORT THEIR PRODUCTS.  In point of fact, I DESPISE these clowns.  I just am forced to deal with them against my desires and better judgment.  Probably why homicide is illegal.

  • Does Time Machine/Migration Assistant successfully transfer software licenses for Microsoft Office and Adobe?

I have a MacBook that I purchased in late 2007.  It's been very good to me over the years.  However, I'm been having various minor issues, and tonight I noticed that the screen goes to black at about 45° as I'm closing my laptop.  In other situations I'd try to fix this myself, but right now I'm a Peace Corps Volunteer in rural South America and have limited access to the right tools, much less replacement parts.  So instead I'm taking it as a sign that my trustworthy companion is about to give up the ghost and I should get a new computer now, instead of completely running this one into the ground and potentially losing important documents, photos, &c.
My question is simple:  Does Time Machine and/or Migration Assistant successfully transfer licenses for Microsoft Office 2011 and for Adobe software?
My software installation disks are in a box in a basement in the United States.  And since I'm not quite sure which box it is (last summer I did not see the need to label my own boxes), I'm not going to ask some unsuspecting friend or family member to dig through all my posessions to find an alphanumeric code or two, especially if I can just transfer/migrate the license without it.
    Many thanks.

Try the combo update on the old machine.
    10.6.8 Combo Updater
If the 2 computers have the correct cable connections, try the Target Disk Mode.
