I know, I know: everybody's an editor, but how about this?
To create a PDF from FrameMaker make sure that you have installed the Acrobat Distiller printer instance. This is NOT done by using the Add Printer option found in Start > Settings > Printers. Instead:
1. Download the latest Adobe Universal Printer Driver Installer from Adobe.
2. Make sure you have the latest PPD file available. You will be asked to find it during printer installation.
3. Double-click the .exe file to install the driver you downloaded.
4. When you are asked for the PPD file, browse to find it on your system.
Now you will have a printer instance called Acrobat Distiller. Use this printer when you create PDF files or when you create PostScript files from FrameMaker.
Do not use Save As PDF! This seems handy, but doesn't let you control Distiller job options. Instead:
1. From your Frame file or Frame book file, Print.
2. Make sure to select Print to File.
3. Make sure that Acrobat Distiller is the printer selected. It is good practice to make sure Acrobat Distiller is the default printer for your system before you go from Frame to Acrobat.
4. Distill the resulting postscript file.
Using watched folders can make your Frame-to-Acrobat tasks nearly automatic. See the Acrobat Guide for more information.
Sean, I think that your post may give the beginner a little too much information they won't understand until they've been at this for awhile. The "If you are outputting to a service bureau..." part for example. I think the FAQ should answer the questions for beginners. As they gain more experience and confidence, they will start to do things your way--the daring Save As, for example!
Your troubleshooting ideas are great. Can you add, under the b&w or grayscale PDF problem that it might be caused by selecting Spot as Black in the Frame print dialog?
Hope I'm not too much a pain about this... Also hope I didn't mess up the details in my suggestions...

Suggestion for additions and corrections to FAQ's
The FAQ forum will constantly evolve as issues are added and updated. Since the topics are read only other than to forum workers, we wanted to give users a special topic where they can add their suggestions for additions and corrections.
Please keep in mind that all forum workers are volunteers, they do this because they enjoy helping other users.Chris,
Like I said, Im relatively new to PhotoShop and PS forum. I have researched the PS manual, PS help topics and this forum. I am not an individual that would ask a question of hard-working volunteers about a subject that I have not already researched. And yes, I know and understand what FAQs are and how they are generally presented on the web.
Huh? The FAQ section is for administrators to add things to, not users. If you have a question, you ask in the main forum. If many people ask the same question, then the administrators add an entry to the FAQ.
Okay if this is true, how was I able to post a message? I wasnt aware that I couldnt post a FAQ suggestion to the FAQ suggestion Forum? Hmm, maybe I missed the
small print on that one.
Look ... I do NOT want to create any hostility with you. You have given me some answers and I appreciate your comments. I will go back and "wade through" all of the forums to look for basic or frequent problems that may answer some frequent questions.

Trying to view an SD version of an iTunes movie on my MacBook Pro and it repeatedly freezes 9 minutes into movie. Using iTunes 10. Any suggestions to correct this problem?
I have the exact same problem trying to use the Remote app on both my iPhone 3gs and iPad 2 with either my Mac or ATV2. My Remote app used to work on my phone - I can't recall if I ever actually used it with my iPad, but when I tried today, I got all the same results as you did (on both iPad, and then iPhone). I was using my ATV2 to play music from iTunes on my Mac and wanted to use the Remote app, but it would not connect to either device no matter what I did.

Otally unable to save a download. Unable to run a download and used up all the faq suggestions
I am unable to save or run a download. The reason being ' unable to read source code' Contact server administrator. I have used up all the suggestions in faq's and am able to download using explorer
I'm a designer not a code-geek and people like me need an easy way to grab screenshots. Codelines in developer tool is not an option! And the F1-option mentioned above does not work...
Please, please give us the screen grab add-ons back!!!
Or you have to implement a "right-click" feature within FF for screengrabbing...
If not I'll have to downgrade my FF.

I have moved my iTunes library from an old PC to my new one running on Windows 8. All play normally apart from two albums: Songwriter by Justin Hayward and The Roaring Silence by Manfred Man''s Earth Band. The FAQ suggestions don't resolve the problem.
Honestly, all the people in all the world that look at this forum, no-one can tell me why my itunes is causing my machine to fall over?
I wiped the machine and started again. Fresh XP install, fresh iTune download, fired it up imported one album and bang. Over it went. I've PC Checked the hard ware, mad onioned the system to see if it's a resource thing but it's rock solid until i open iTunes. Then after every re-boot, the message is back in the event log.

My mini ipad has frozen and won't let me restore showing 3014 error code. I have tried all suggestions to correct error and now is frozen saying connect to itunes which just shows the error message.. Can't i just reboot it somehow?Hi annababs,

Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

Is there a predetermined number of times (frequency) the same question has to be asked before it's included? Does someone, or does a committee perhaps, actually monitor all topics, decide which ones are really about the same problem, give a new wording (Supertopic) to all the problems that are the same but assigned differently worded topics by different users, and then, when they have met the frequency requirement they are included? I kind of imagine the process is a lot simpler than that, somehow. Possibly it's just based on someone's overall impressions about 'frequency'. Yes? No? Maybe 'frequency' is not being used as a criterion at all here. In #19, this thread, a question is asked and in #20 the asker is referred to the Photoshop_Win Forum.

Does this mean one need only 'suggest' a question, whether or not it is "frequently asked", and it may be included in the FAQ? The 'F' begins to appear increasingly less appropriate; and what are the criteria, if any, according to which a 'suggestion' gets validated? There is an allegation somewhere in this thread that the users aren't using the FAQ. Frankly fellas and femmes, it's for failure to fathom the fuzziness of the FAQ's features I frequently fear. Finally, what I'm really on about is how does one get that neat, smaller font, quote text into a post? No *this* is my final word, suggestion...How about a forum for topics relating to overall use of Adobe Forums. Jeremy, you said don't panic, write an FAQ suggestion instead - here is one. In a nutshell, issues concerning Vista entering sleep. I'm pretty sure lots have asked related questions, although maybe not many on this forum (as yet). What does Creative have to with it's I believe it'scan have a lot to do with it. When a Creative SB X-Fi driver is enable in the device manager, entering Vista's sleep is highly unreliable, but with the Creative product DISABLED in device manager, suddenly, magically, what-da-ya-know, entry into sleep is almost 00% reliable (possibly actually 00%, I just haven't done enough testing yet to be sure). Don't think its an FAQ? Here's another person raising the same issue on your own forums. If something at Start Up might be conflicting, you can try to disable any apps from loading automatically, to see if one of those might be causing the problem. You can do that through Start-> Run, then type "msconfig". Under one of those tabs is a list of applications that load automatically when Windows boots. You can untick applications to stop that, you can always re-enable them later. If unticking everything helps, start re-enabling them again slowly to find out which is causing the problem.

I am unable to access my aol (netscape.net) email account. I followed aol's suggestions and still cannot get my emails. I am able to change my password and account settings though
If you use iCloud as well, you can try adding it back to your accounts as well. I have 7 email accounts (including iCloud and a Yahoo account) in mail on my iPhone and iPad and have no problems with them. I suspect it was not removing iCloud that fixed your problem, it was the re-entering the Yahoo account login credentials (maybe they just got corrupted - could be as simple as that).
If you do add iCloud back, and it causes problems right away with your Yahoo, then you should send a ticket in to the iCloud support folks as that would seem to be something not working correctly?

Also if you actually deleted the iCloud account, remember you can keep the account, and just disable it for mail in the iCloud settings (so you can keep using iCloud for other features even if you do not want to use iCloud mail). -
Removing color casts, and correcting colors to match reference materials? any guides/tutorial/videos

I am looking for tutorials that show how to do a couple things, first I would like to be able to remove any color casts. In photoshop to do this you can use a curves layer and use the set white point color picker and click somplace that is supposed to be white. and in premier you could do something similar using the Fast Color Corrector. So basically I am looking for a way to target an area in a frame that should be grays, In Anime, the eyes generally will always be shades of gray, so that is what I would target usually when working with anime in photoshop/premiere. If anyone knows of a tutorial that shows how to do this type of color cast removal color correction in SpeedGrade could you please share a link.
Some of the older 80's and 90's anime on film, the film has aged and that is where the color cast came from. There is also a loss of color information across the board. For instance in the below picture. The sky is supposed to be more blue instead of teal/sea green.
Another thing is back in the 80s and 90s a lot of Anime worked from limited color palletes; something like maybe 16 colors total, so a lot of colors are used repeatedly. So even with only a limited amount of reference material I should be able to get the corrections close. (I dont have reference clips for every single episode, only a handful of scenes from a handful of episodes.)
I have some reference material showing approximately what the colors should be. So my next question is if anyone knows of any tutorials/guides/videos showing how to use SpeedGrade to color correct a clip so that the colors match up with the colors used in a reference clip
I was also wondering about auto correction based on a reference clip, although I am guessing this is still not possible.
When I watched the websiminar: http://seminars.adobeconnect.com/_a227210/p738pxm9zs0/ at about 43 minutes into it, a feature is shown that automatically adjust the color using a clip that contains a colorchart.
I was wondering if a tool like that could analyse a clip start to finish, to create a pallete of used colors, and then compare that to the colors used in another clip and correct them. (a feature like this would probably be more useful/accurate in anime than it would liveaction but who knows.)

I did have one question, the only place I see to access the colorwheels is in the looks tab, my video I am working on, just manages to fit at 100% in the monitor.
So I would prefer to hide or collapse the different looks(maybe even with a hotkey) so that I can access the color tools that it is covering, I attached a picture of what I am talking about. I know pressing "P" hides everything at the bottom, and figured maybe there is already a way to hide/minimize/collapse the look presets to access the tools behind them without shrinking down the size of the monitor preview.There is a special grading filter called "Color match" which can assist in cross-referencing the black/white/gray levels from one playhead to another but it's not documented yet. The suggested way to set black/white/gray points in Sg is to adjust it visually, using the waveforms as a guide, but there's no chance of doing that for something as small as a character's eye. There's no "eyedropper" picker on the primary grading panel because Sg isn't a correcting tool, but a cinematic grading tool. 99% of the time the end result of an Sg grading session is a long way from what the camera pixels actually recorded.
If all you are doing is reversing a color cast then Speedgrade isn't the right tool to use - you should be working in Premiere Pro (with the Fast or 3-Way Color Correctors). If you're a Photoshop person the UI is much more recognizable, it'll handle all the native footage you can throw at it, and you get your B-G-W eyedroppers.
In Speedgrade CS6 you cannot hide the Presets panel in the Look or Mask tab. The UI is really designed for use in a two-monitor system (which all professional colorists will have), and/or with a hardware controller (which means you can keep the entire bottom panel hidden). -

Plug it into the computer and start iTunes. Hold down the sleep/power button and home button together for 10 seconds, then release the power button and continue to hold down the home button until a message appears in iTunes telling you an iPhone in recovery mode has been detected. See if that works

My iCloud account name was inputted incorrectly during initial phone set up. I created another iCloud account name but it is still the old and wrong iCloud account that automatically loads whenever I access the iCloud tab on my phone. How do I replace it my new and correct account name?

Note you can use the same Apple ID in
Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID: > here to share purchased music, apps and books.
Other than that each of you should use your own Apple ID for iMessage, FaceTime, iCloud, Game Center, etc. -
I did everything lllaass suggested and removed most of the itunes related components, but when I tried to remove itunes, I got the message, "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" so I was not able to uninstall it.
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page).

After clicking one of the circled links, you should be taken to another page, and after a few seconds you should see a download dialog appear for the msicuu2.exe file. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me in Firefox:
Choose to Save the file. If the dialog box does not appear for you, click the link on the page that says "CLICK HERE IF IT DOES NOT". Here's a screenshot of the page with the relevant link circled:
When the dialog appears, choose to save the file.
(2) Go to the Downloads area for your Web browser. Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

I can't update IPhoto, it says "the product distribution file could not be verified it must be damaged or signed in" I bought it on iTunes and have 8,000 photos already. how can I update and correct this??

I recently changed my password to my apple id and was able to log into everything fine except the icloud on my ipad. It reverted back to an old apple id and I don't know the password. I have tried all the suggestions and no luck.
You didn't say what you've tried, but f the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I have all my databases in upper case but one, how can I change that? Apparently, it is causing some db connection problem. I have check the tnsnames, oratab, listener and all is in uppercase. As you see below, thdb is the only one in lower case and
