Far Cry Mouse Centralising Problem in Leopard

Hi, i'm quite sure this problem is down to leopard but i might be wrong...
I have owned far cry for Mac quite along time now, but haven't really played it much. I decided yesterday to get it out and play it, after reinstalling it on my (sort of new, last one to have intel 950) Macbook with leopard i started it up great opening credits etc etc.
Then i noticed on the menu that my mouse pointer kept jumping around on both my trackpad and logitech wireless mouse. It kept jumping towards the centre of the screen and is really really annoying whilst playing the game and makes it virtually impossible to play it.
I've had this problem before with another game i can't remember which though so it isn't isolated. I never had this problem with Tiger.

my iMac just got this problem yesterday, no luck since then.
tried all stuff i could think of
repair permissions, restart, new user(SAME!), install 10.5.4 combo again, PRAM zap
mac retailer here in Taiwan doesnt know either!
any ideas?

Mouse interaction problem in Leopard

Hi Folks,
All of a sudden, my mouse has some interaction problem in Leopard. Tried different mice, they all behave the same, so I guess this is an issue with Leopard.
Very weird symptoms:
1- In Sarafi, when I place pointer on a hyperlink, it doesn't change from arrow to hand, but click action still works.
2- In menu bar, the selection doesn't get highlighted when I move the pointer over the menu.
3- For Dock (in auto-hide mode), the Dock doesn't pop up automatically if I move the pointer to the bottom of the screen. I have to click somewhere in the bottom to bring up the Dock, but the icons don't get magnified when I place pointer over them.
Any idea what the problem is and how to fix that?

Mouse mspping problem in Leopard 10.5.3

Using Geometer's Sketchpad, when the Command Menu is accessed, the mouse (any mouse) loses its mapping ability. Pointing to an object results in anaction taking place below and to the right of whatever the mouse is pointing to. This did not happen in previous OS X versions. Software developer is stumped. Please help this desperate user.

Problem with far cry 4 msi afterburner and sli

just wondering if anyone else could verify this for me when ever I try and launch far cry 4 with msi afterburner running and sli the game will crash everytime. disable sli leave msi afterburner running game will launch. enable sli turn off afterburner game will launch.
just trying to figure out if its my system or if this is a common problem thanks in advance

Game crashing could be caused by few problems, could be software or hardware. Assuming we're looking into hardware, I suggest you run MEMTEST for your RAM and see if your RAM is defected. Other than that, I can't think of any reason than power supply. But you stated you have a 480 W which should be sufficient. It could be a known problem with ATI on Far Cry? But if this's the case, ATI should be able to deal with it via Driver Update.
If it's software, this is broad. Does Far Cry have any patch?

Radeon 9700 pro problem with Far Cry game

When I playing far cry at High Deatils, after 5 minutes game will crashing, and i got graphic error message
I have Last update of official ati driver , and i tried OMEGA unofficial driver;
but problem still running.

Anyone else having a Problem with Leopard and Photoshop CS3?

I'm using CS3 with Leopard 10.5.4 at work and there are some very aggravating anomalies, that I'd like to nail down to a cause. Most frequently, when switching from apps to P'Shop, the menu bar stays for the previous app, i.e. when going from Finder to P'shop, the menu bar still says Finder and has Finder options. Changing from Lightwave to P'Shop, the menu bar remains Lightwave.
Occasionally, an Adobe app - P'Shop or InDesign - will simply disappear and not come back. The icon in the dock shows it as active, but no amount of clicking, Command-Tabbing will reveal the app and I have to Force Quit, losing unsaved changes.
I have a feeling it's Leopard, since, I've used CS3 on Tiger and CS4 on Tiger and never had a problem.
I'm wondering if upgrading to the latest Leopard would make much of a difference.
Has anyone come across this and found any kind of answers?

Right. If someone is having a problem associated with Tiger, it's PEBAK. If Leopard is involved, it's automatically because of Leopard. Apparently, with Apple's latest OS, trouble shooting problems are no longer necessary - just blame it on Leopard and call it a day.

I find the dynamics here really interesting. This thread would have been very different if Vincent had posted with problems involving Tiger. Would have gone something like this:
After admonishing him for not providing more information about his setup by posting the obnoxious big blue link on how to ask questions (ahem - we know NOTHING about his machine or configuration, such as which machine, how much RAM, scratch disk or attached peripherals), there'd be all kinds of trouble shooting advice given - "try a new user", "repair permissions", "run DiskWarrior, and on and on ...
But no, since he mentions Leopard, none of that is apparently necessary and the completely, utterly

advice is given ... "that's just the way Leopard is".
Those are some serious problems he's reporting that have nothing to do with Leopard. Something is obviously hosed!
As for discounting my experience because I don't use every app in the suite as extensively as I do Photoshop, I'm FAR more qualified to discuss Leopard and CS issues than Ann or Neil who do not use Leopard at all (and have never used it as far as I know.)
"Others have problems with it", is their battle cry but it's extremely weak. Do I really need to remind you all that these forum are ALWAYS filled with people who have problems, regardless of version or OS? You act as if this forum was a ghost town when Tiger and CS3 were current!
Gee, Ann ... people are STILL reporting problems with 10.5 and CS3? How shocking! Guess what - people are STILL reporting problems with 10.4 and CS3 too! Let me make a prediction - people will have problems with 10.8 and CS9!

Yes. You do. Even if you never type a single line of text, every application uses fonts to create menus and other GUI items. If one of those fonts are bad, it can create all kinds of problems, including the very problems you mention.
The fact that you don't seem aware of this and you're still using 10.5.4 leads me to believe you're not familiar with the basic practices of maintaining a healthy system. Again, how did you install Leopard on that machine?
Look, if you're simply trying to justify using CS4, go right ahead. It's a worthwhile upgrade in it's own right. However, if you install it on that machine in it's current state, CS4 will NOT fix your problems because you do NOT have a healthy system.
You asked for experiences with Leopard - I can launch every application in both CS3 and CS4 suites

and STILL not have your issues. I haven't experienced anything like your CS3 problems in Leopard - on both a 2006 Mac Pro and a 2008 Macbook.
If you'd like help to try and figure out the real problem, I'm more than happy to help. If not, Adobe will gladly take your money ...

Where do we report "Problems" to Leopard?

Since installing Leopard, my internet connect drops repeatedly. I have to turn off the DSL modem, unplug the unit, wait a minute and reconnect to get back on the web. I never had this problem with Tiger.
I'm sure Apple wants to know these problems for "fixes". Where do we report them and does anyone know how to fix my problem?

As far as your specific problem, folks will need more info, such as how your modem is connected to your computer and what setup you're using to connect to the internet (how is the network configuration set up in OS X).

Far Cry 4 - Display driver stopped responding and has recovered

After several hours of play without driver crash i get today first driver crash in Far Cry 4.. Application stopped. Then i saw on events: Nvlddmkm Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. Its very random , sometimes i can play even 24 hours without driver crash and sometimes like today its crashed driver after 5 minutes of started game.
Its problem with driver or my its just my card? ( i am using stock Gtx 980 ). I am using the newest drivers. All other games runs without even single crash. I tested Unigine Heaven for 10 hours, without crash. I tested Metro Last Light for few hours without crash too.
Only Far Cry 4 sometimes crash after 5 minutes,but mostly often i can play 24 hours without driver crash.
Using 347.88 WHQL.
All my pc is stock, cpu is 4790k stock. GPU is on stock too.
From what i know,crashing display driver Nvlddmkm its always graphic card ( hardware ) failure? Rma graphic card?
TDR's are always happening because of "bad/broken" hardware?Or it can be software too?

Far Cry 4 - computer froze. Only hard reset helps.

Hello dear forum.
First my pc:
4790 stock
8gb ram
Sabertooth Z79 Mark2
Msi Gaming 980 ( Oc factory )
Corsair 750 RM
HDD 500GB SATAIII
So 5 days ago when playing Far Cry 4 my computer suddenly freezes with "BZZZZZ" sound.
( ctrl alt del and so on didn't work I had to pull the power and restart. )
So only hard reset helps.
Question of course . Why i was had one single hard freez 5 days ago?
There is no any minidumps file to analyze. Minidump folder is empty.
No minidump file.
Nothing appears in the Event Viewer other than the typical error messages stating that the previous shutdown was unexpected.
On windows event log i have this:

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
It can be game or something with hardware?
After that i run even Prime95 Blend for 10 hours, without errors.
I test Watchdogs for 2 hours , no crash.
I test Metro Last Light for 2 hours, no crash.
I test Unigine Valley for 1 hour, no crash.
I test 3dmark 11 Extreme loop for 1 hour , no crash.
Also i dont OC my pc, all is stock.
I am using 334.75 WHQL drivers.
What you think that freeze was game\software or hardware related?
Like i say all is fine now, but i am worried about that one single freez ( only hard reset helps ) from 5 days ago.

Yes it happens only once, so thats why i create a topic problem. Because i want to know , what caused that one single freez. I never had freez like this even before.
The most strange that my freeze happened once, 5 days ago. I am now 100 hours in game ( Far Cry 4 of course ) and nothing happened again.

Terrible sound with Far Cry

Just as I sorted out a bad RAM problem (1 of 2 sticks went bad), I come across a sound problem. I'm playing Far Cry and the sound is terrible. It's choppy. When I shoot, there's a slight delay in the sound and it seems as if the game stops for a split second. (On the other hand, the graphics are great - so vivid.) But getting back to my problem, is this just an onboard sound problem or is it a combo sound/ video driver problem??
p.s. This is just regular gameplay. No online stuff.

Well, first off, the onboard sound is pretty good as far os onboard sound goes. But it is still onboard sound, so the CPU is still going to be crunching all the numbers. (i.e. no sound hardware acceleration)
But, it still should NOT be as bad are you are describing. It really sounds like the machine is being overwhelmed somehow.
Here are a few questions that occur to me:
What version of Far Cry are you running?
What are your sound settings in Far Cry configurator?
What are the graphics settings? AA? AF?
How is your swap file configured?
Is the hard drive activity light flashing a lot when this is going on?
Does the problem happen immediately when you start playing or only after awhile?
Are you sure the system isn't overheating? (I personally have had this happen on an old system, but the it would usually lock up completely shortly after the sound went nuts.)
Have you tried closing any unnessary background processes (like all those little icons in the system tray next to the clock) to see if it helps?
Does rebooting help?

I'm pretty sure almost every gamer over here support this great idea, no doubt, but I see a lil bit(or maybe not so small) problem here. It's about design. Even if MSI gaming notebooks are positioning for gaming, they're still remain stylish and well-designed. I'm talking about keys height - maybe there can be found an engeneering solution or some sort of modification to switches - to make them a lil bit undersized in height. Maybe MSI should try several modifications of keboards on their next models and look forward for gamers feedback on each kb modification.
Anyway it's just a question of time - in the near future all MSI gaming notebooks will be complete with mechanical switches.

Problem with leopard DVD loading in PowerPC G4

Hi having problems installing Leopard DVD on Mac G4 desk top - 1GHz PowerPC G4 (3,6), 1MB L3 Cache, 768 MB Ram.
A few of the details:
1) I have installed Leopard on my Laptop and it is running fine and it is a family pack edition DVD.
2) I wiped the G4 I am trying to install clean and re-loaded the original system software, then loaded to Tiger to see if that was the issue...When I put in the Leopard DVD it doesn't even show as being in the computer. It doesn't come up on the desk top...it doesn't show in the HD...it doesn't make a sound at all when put in the DVD slot...basically, the computer is not recognizing the DVD. I have tried other cd's and DVD's in the drive....everything is working except the Leopard DVD.
Any ideas?

It looks like your points were awarded back to the date of pre-order. I am glad the system properly awarded your points. The 243 points you mentioned actually appear to have been a part of 250 points that were just recently converted into a $5 certificate. Mouse navigations problem with Sun Java 1.5.0_*

We need to move from JInitiator to Sun Java Plugin; according to the Forms10g Client Platform Support (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/htdocs/10gR2/clientsod_forms10gR2.html) one of the certified version for Forms 10.1.2.0.2 of the the Sun Java Plugin is 1.5.0_06 and Internet Explorer 6.0, we have tested also SJPI 1.5.0_09 and we get the same mouse navigation problem reported in the following Oracle Forum threads.
Mouse navigation don't work with Java Plugin.

You need to use 1.5.0_12 or newer. The client SOD is not up-to-date on this specific point. A lot of navigation problems was fixed in this very release.
The Management team should change this in the client SOD, wonder why they still refer to 1.5.0_06. For Applications, the first 1.5.0 to be certified was _12.
Also make sure, that you are using the latest Patch 3 for 10.1.2 (10.1.2.3). This patch also contains fixes for a lot of these wellknown issues.
