  • Digital signature- signing adobe documents

    Hello
We are planning to buy Adobe true credentials for signing the adobe documents using digital certificates.
the program that we have is using the .pfx private keys to sign the documents. Can someone pls let us know if true credential software is going to generate private keys?

    intbuz,
First off you'll get better results posting in the appropriate forum, this is the Digital Editions forums which is discussion about Adobe Digital Editions and eBooks in general. So the people on the forum generally aren't ready to answer Acrobat Security questions which would be better asked in the Acrobat Windows forums.
Also "True Credentials" is not an Adobe product but a GeoTrust product.
    Look at either http://www.geotrust.com/products/client_certificates/true_credentials_express.asp
    or
    http://www.geotrust.com/products/client_certificates/true_credentials.asp
Assuming that's what you are talking about, a quick overview of the whitepaper leads me to believe that they are using the Operating system protected storage for the both the public and private keys, so while it won't automatically generate .pfx files, you might be able export the private keys after the fact into the container format you desire. However you should really check with GeoTrust about that, since I don't have direct experience with the product.

    Hi Jill,
    I would like to assist!
I do not see one of our subscription services in your account. Are you interested in purchasing PDF Pack to convert your document to PDF?
What type of document are you working with? You mention an 'adobe document'? Would you mind being more specific?

Adobe Reader XI will not give me any options to sign my documents

Are you in a company/enterprise where the installer was customized?  If yes, then your administrator may have disabled the Sign panel feature on the right hand side, however, signing a document should still be available in the Digital Signatures Pane on the left side via  a pop-up menu.

  • Adobe Reader X - signing several documents

When I sign a document (in a window IE browser), Adobe Reader X (10.1) ask for a  password to verify my signature.
Then a open a new IE window with another pdf document to sign, again I have to give the password of my signature certificate.
I have several pdf documents to sign, with Adobe Reader 9 I was only asked once (in the first document) to give a password.
Why this changed or how can I change this behaviour?
Can you please help me? Thank you in advance.

    It's Windows 8.
Turns out the problem was acsm.files preconfigured to be opened in Adobe Reader. The solution was to right click on the file(s) in Downloads, and then reconfigure  it through the option "open as/in ..."
and somehow give the correct adress, through Computer:/ C and so on,  to the  Adobe Digital Editions.

  • Unable to sign a document using latest adobe reader.

    Hi guys,
I've never had to sign a document using reader before so I'm really lost. I've downloaded the latest adobe reader version and created an adobe account. The form is enabled for reader and signatures as far as I can tell.
I'm logged in while the file is open but under the right side tab "sign" all the options are grayed out, I also cant just click on the signature box like it mentions in the help vids.
I've added a screen shot to show you what I mean.
    Thanks guys,
    Mike

Try updating the software, first? PKCS12 is the latest one.
Also-- you have to make sure you have a digital ID stored in the computer (or through a server), or you can create one.

    Hi 2014 nurse pracitioner,
Let's see what we can figure out! What happens when you try to sign your documents? Are you receiving an error message when you try to sign? When you open a file in Reader, do you see Sign in the upper-right corner, as shown below:
I look forward to hearing back from you.

  • Is it possible to digitally sign a document in reader for iOS?

We sign documents using adobe reader 9.3 & std/pro 9.2 0. Can we create a digital signature and sign documents?

    Steve,
    Thanks for your reply.
I did not think it was possible as yet.  We have many engineers and Pilots
that wanted to use their iPads to sign documents.  This would eliminate the
need to go back to their PC.
I don't expect this feature to be too far in the future.
    Again thanks,

  • Error while signing a document using API

Hello. I'm using API functions to add a digital signature to a PDF document. While signing this document, I receive an error which looks like:
com.adobe.livecycle.signatures.client.types.exceptions.PDFOperationException: ALC-DSS-303-001 Could not sign Signature Field MyField (in the operation : sign)
Caused By: ALC-DSS-303-014 Subject name and the subject alt name missing. (in the operation : getSignerName)
My source code is a straight copy/paste from the SDK Help. I can successfully add an unsigned signature field using API call, but I can't sign it. I can also sign my document manually from Adobe Acrobat Professional using the same certificate.
I'm new in LiveCycle and digital signatures, so it might be some obvious reason that I just can't detect now.
    Could anyone help me, please?

you can mail me directly to [email protected], and I'll try to help.

  • Documents Reimagined: Meet Adobe Document Cloud

Adobe Document Cloud consists of a set of integrated services that use a consistent online profile and personal document hub, so you can organize your paper documents efficiently and easily.  You will be able to create, review, approve, sign and track documents whether on a desktop or mobile device. I referenced the ETk to get everything turned off except does anyone have any idea how to disable the "store and share files in the document cloud" piece in the tools pane?

  • Signing a document using a plugin in different versions of Reader

    Hi,
I am signing a pdf document with my own .cer file using a plugin. Everything works great in Reader 8, I've got a green check, it specifies that this is a valid signature and I can view the certificate. In Reader 9, however, I receive a huge question mark, but it still specifies that the signature is valid and I can view the certificate. In Reader X, the signature is "UNKOWN".
How do I get rid of the question mark? Even if I delete the vector data for the drawing the question mark in the plugin, a big yellow question mark is still being displayed in Reader 9 and X.
    Thank you,
    Magda

Again, I know NOTHING about your plugin, your code, the certificate in question, etc.
The ONLY WAY to get you an answer is for you to provide our support staff with the PDF in question, at least as a starting point.  Please open a support contract.
