FDF does not update the Formdata

Hello,
in php I wrote a a smal script to generate a fdf file but the form does not show the data. I am pretty sure that the code is correct and the fields exists in the pdf.

      fpassthru($fp);
      unlink("test1.fdf");
after pressing the submitbutton (http://localhost/getdata.php#FDF). I can see a data tramsmission but no new data.
Could I have missed something? LiveCycleDesigner Option?
I there a way to debug the calling PDF to see what is being done?

Since Adobe provides the ability to create AcroForms that uses the FDF file, it is hardly outdated. And there are many web applications that provide a copy of a user completed form in a pdf format that users with Reader can save by use of the FDF file to provide the data and the link to the associated PDF form.
AcroForms provide features that are not available to LiveCycle Designer forms or LiveCycle Designer needs to use the Acrobat object and Acrobat AcroForms JavaScript to use those features. XML forms can not be flattened nor can they obtain the properties of the identity object.
Both products are about the same age.
I would hardly consider this an outdated product just because there is a different approach.
