FDM to structures of dimensions is possible

I'm new with EPM - FDM.
One must understand a point.
You can only upload via FDM values for the Accounts dimension (fact), or can also upload their own accounts for essbase, ie I can carry through FDM structures of dimensions?
If possible is there any documentation on this?

How to copy FDM setting (import format, dimension mapping, control table) from application to another application.
I found that only dimension mapping can be imported. Is there any way to copy FDM application quickly?

If you get a chance try the following script, it's so simple and easy to extract all the map data to XML and will help in to import back through Import script.

Partitioning SCD Type 2 dimensions and possible update sto partition key

Hi,
We have a fact table which only gets inserts and are considering range partitioning this on sell_by_date (as can archive off products which long past sell by date) and hash sub-partition on product_id.
Heard about partition wise joins and are considering partitioning the SCD Type 2 product dimension in similar way, range partition on product_sell_by_date and sub-partition by hash on product_id in oredr to gte benefiit of partition-wise joins.
However, is possibility that product_sell_by_date could be updated via delta loads which maintian the SCD type 2 - in theory this attribute shouldn't be updated much.
Any thoughts, generally on partitioning dimension tables and partition keys which can be updated.

1. Create a function as mentioned by you "max value +1 on grouping of data "on target schema.
2. Map to the target column
3. select TARGET as exection area in interface ( don't select source or staging) for this column in interface mapping...
4. select option only INSERT ( remove de-select UPDATE option) for this column in interface mapping.
5. Execute the interface.

Permissions on dimension levels possible

I have i dimension with the hierarchy, say
Total
Countries
Regions
Cities
Shops
This dimension is also in the presentation layer, so the users can drill down to the finer levels. For certain users i wan't to restrict the possibility of drilling to regions, they aren't allowed to see the details for cities and shops. When i set the persission für this group für cities and shops to no access, it has no effect, t.i. the users still can drill down in answers.
If i try to restrict the access to the Shops and Cities columns also, it's not possible to check in the repository. Something's strange here!???
Any suggestions?

Hi,
Did you apply security in presentation laayer of repository restricting access on those columns for those users?
Try even in this way - create two reports,one with drill enabled and other with out drill,place them in different sections and apply section level security.

Multiple Text Frame dimension change - possible?

Create 5 text frames, all duplicates so they share the same height and width.
Select all and try to change just the height of all.
InDesign displays the total height rather than the height of one and therein lies the problem...

Got it:
1. Select one of the five text boxes.
2. Change its height.
3. Deselect it.
4. Select the remaining text boxes.
5. Choose Transform Again Individually from the OBJECT >Transform Again menu.

In Solar02 transaction of solution manager , under configuration node - > structure Tab , it is possible to change the structure . Is it possible to restrict this authorisation based on login users.

because if they have change access they can very well proceed.
Moreover if you hide it will be hidden for all users from solar_project_admin...project tab

Snowflaking the Date Dimension

I understand the OLAP sayings of "make the facts narrow and the dimensions wide" and "denormalize", etc. But I am a novice. I inserted a graphic of the table structure, but I'm not sure how to go through that process when
it involves a date dimension. Here's a little background:
A facility has a name, and multiple units
A unit has a name and a facility
For each date, a facility has the number of patients residing
For each date, a unit has the number of patients residing
A drug has a name
A drugroute as a name and a classification
Each fact is an instance of a drug used on a specific date and in a specific unit.
The number of patients residing in a facility on a day does not equal the total number of unit patients, because patients are only counted once at the facility, even if they are listed in multiple units in the same day.
A drug dispensed multiple times on the same day in the same unit only counts once, unless stratified by route. When route is reported, each route administered is counted.
The most important question is: how do I NOT snowflake the date dimension?

So what do you think a snowflake schema is? Because your question does not make a lot of sense.
In Data Warehousing a snowflake schema is one where a dimension is normalized.
So in a star schema you might have a geography table with 4 columns
geographyID
Country
State
City
Where as in a snowflake schema you could have 3 tables, one each for Country, State and City.
So in your example you would have one date dimension (which could have columns for Year, Quarter, Month etc) which would have a grain at the day level. And it would be linked to each of your Facility, Unit and DrugDispensed fact tables. There is no need
to snowflake date here. It is perfectly fine for a dimension to be related to more than one fact. (in fact you should aim to use shared dimensions wherever possible)

Event structures used to monitor indicator change

I am new to the event structure.
Is it possible to monitor an indicator for a value change? I know this works with controls, but I'm not sure you can monitor and indicator in this way.

Yes, it's possible. However, in order to change the value so that an event will fire, you'll have to use the value(signalling) property of the indicator. It won't work if you simply wire a value to it.

How can I generate a list of enumerations of possible cases?

I appologize if this question is answered in the boards but I did look and was not able to find anything that helped me.
I have a case structure that runs a specific test when that test is called in a text file. The case structure is burried in some other states. I do not to use the text file anymore, but want to display a selectable array of possible tests (that start with the word "Test") and have the user select the test from this list (which would be a list of cases that are updated when I update the case structure later).
I am not sure how to pull the possible case values out of the case structure. Is this possible?

I'm not 100% sure what you mean, but in order to neatly connect a case structure to choices you'll use a Enum (preferrably a type-def'd one).
If so, you can use the Strings[] property to get the possible choices. A Enum control is also the Selectable list you're asking for. You cant update it by updating the Case structure, but you can go the other way around! If you update the Enum you can r-click the case structure and select "Add case for every value", and if you dont use "default" on any choice you'll get a broken wire if you haven't, which is a good regulator.
If a Enum doesn't solve your problem and you need higher run time versatility you can use Ring controls, although there's no automagic when connecting cases to those.

How to load BeginningBalance and movements into HFM via FDM from ERPI

I have a file generated by ERPI with the columns of |AMOUNT|BEGIN_BALANCE_DR|BEGIN_BALANCE_CR|PERIOD_NET_DR|PERIOD_NET_CR|
among many other columns.
How can load them via FDM into the Custom1 dimension in HFM, which contains BeginningBalance, Additions, Disposals, etc.
So basically I will have a trial balance, which I can compare with GL and OBI.

Please check transaction WE60 for IDOC documentation and there are many old threads with information about this IDOC.

I would appreciate if someone could provide some input on the following issue.
Is it possible to add a field to Define Account Determination for Internal Goods Movements (OKEK)?
This table determines the GL accounts assigned when inventory is moved between plants. Is it possible to add another column to the left hand side? I would add the receiving plantu2019s VGCd, if possible. Even better would be a profit center group (1100 for all 11xx profit centers for example).
I know there are two ways to add field to the DB Table. They are INCLUDE and APPEND structure.
Is it possible to append a field to table V_T8A00, and display it in config screen OKEK?

On a transfer, the accounting treatment is different when the move is within the same division VS when it goes to another division.
When plant 1101 ships to plant 1102, we donu2019t want to post to account 360100. When plant 1101 ships to plant 1301, we do want to post to 360100. Having the receiving profit center group in the mix will enable this distinction.

Goods receipt when PO creator has been removed from org structure ?

Hello in my organisational structure PPOMA_BBP, i have 2 users, X and Y.
X has created a PO in the SRM portal.However , X has been removed from the org. structure.
Is it possible for Y to make the goods recept( that is , Y logs in the portal and makes the goods receipt) ?

Did you try to delete the user ? Did you get any error message?
Note 1148837 - SRM user cannot be deleted
When trying to delete an SRM user the system will check if there are still
related SRM documents in the system. If there are active documents in the

Hi,
Yes you can get the timestamp and count of no of records in the footer.
Please define your target structure like below
MT_

Header ( o to 1)

Items(0 to unbounded)

Footer
Footerdata
And in the mapping get the current dat using data function.
And then pass the Item node to the function count
Concat both of them along with the constants you need and assign to footer data..
