Feature that provides random clips?

Hi adobe. Is there any feature in CS5 that when you throw a video in timeline, and you need it cut up in one second intervals. Is there any way I can have adobe throw at me bunch of random clips from my long clips at a specified duration say of a sec or 10 frames? it takes me hours to cut a few longer clips into tiny 1 second clips to a music video.

Time Machine is one such program, although it is a recursive backup program which offers limited archive capability, based on the capacity of the backup destination, and it requires you set it up before you start editing your files. Some programs are also Versions aware, which offers a kind of restore capability by file. Again needs to be setup before you start editing.

Traditionally, to copy and paste the contents of a web page, you first select the portion of the page you want, then copy using Ctrl+c (or right-click > Copy), then switch over to the receiving application and paste using Ctrl+v (or right-click > Paste).
However, there might be an add-on that gives you a better result depending on what you're looking for.

I cannot recall the DVD player ever being a place to "store" videos - it is simply an app to play videos.
If your machine is new, then iMovie should be included as the "shrunk" version of iLife is included with Lion (iMovie, Garageband, and iPhoto). However, iMovie is not a place to store videos either - it is a video editor. You import your clips and edit them in order to then burn to a DVD or share via a social media site.
Have you considered simply dragging the clips to your folder "Movies"? That would be a great place to just store them (please be aware that videos are usually large files, so keep your hard drive space in mind so you keep a minimum free and available for the OS to operate properly):

A feature equivalent to Auditioning clips

Is there a feature equivalent to auditioning clips as in FCP X? I'm transitioing from FCP to Adobe Premiere Pro CC and can't find a feature similar to auditioning clips. I like to compare more than one clips in the timeline, but I can't figure out the effective way to do it. Is there a similar feature in Premiere Pro CC or is there another way to compare clips in timeline?

I'm looking for a feature like this:
"you can stack multiple shots in one place in your timeline and cycle through them to choose the best one."
What I'm trying to do is exatcly this. I have more than one clips that I'm deciding which works the best. With FCPX, you can easily try out multiple clips with the Auditioning feature.
I'd like to try a couple of more shots in a particular shot, but I don't necessarily want to edit it in, take it out, edit another shot in, and take it out...

It is not available in Mail any longer (for quite a while, now).
You can add a rule to have Mail mark them as junk, or you could possibly log onto your Email provider's web site and block that address.

IPhoto able to make a slideshow that includes video clips?

I take a lot of video clips with my still camera which iPhoto organizes with my still pictures. When I select stills and movie clips to make a slideshow in iPhoto '06, it only puts the still pictures into the slideshow. So if I want to make a slideshow that includes video clips I have been spending much more time putting a slideshow together in iMovie HD. Not nearly as spontaneous as iPhoto does a stills-only slideshow.
Does iPhoto '08's built-in slideshow now play movie clips along with stills? That would be the 1 new feature I have been waiting for in each of the last few versions.

I've been experimenting and it looks like, no, you cannot add a movie to a slideshow with v7. You might like to check out PhotoPresenter which has iPhoto integration, and can do this with v6, though it needs an update for v7.

What version of OS X are you using? That information will help in providing a specific solution.
If you close all documents before quitting Numbers or Pages, you won't have them reopening when you launch the app again. You can quickly close all open windows in an application by typing ⌘ ⌥ W (Command + Option + W) or hold down the Option/alt key while clicking the red close button.
Other things you can do to turn off this resume feature:
In Lion, Mountain Lion & Mavericks you can set System Preferences > General to close windows when quitting an application.
Try Mountain Tweaks The option to turn off resume is at the bottom of the left-hand column under Lion. This solution does not work in Mavericks.

N73ME - Features that are lacking

Just thought I would list up here a number of features that I am very surprised are lacking with Nokia's phone and that I hope will get added in firmware updates.
Please feel free to comment and add your own features to this list as it may help provide Nokia with what people want.
1. Recurrent alarm setting for clock - I am extremely surprised that Nokia has not caught on with this yet and I would have expected it to be a basic feature on any phone.
2. Folder based image gallery - Why on earth Nokia decided that the gallery option would display all content in all folders is a little beyond me, so I would ask that when entering the gallery you should be able to choose the folder first before the gallery view opens the content. There is such thing as privacy on a phone even if your showing people images!
3. Stopwatch - I am surprised again to see there is no stopwatch program, my old Nokia 6510 had one, so why not now?
4. Timer - Similar again to the stopwatch program but a feature I have seen in Sony phones which is quite useful to some people, a countdown timer with an alarm at the end.
I will add more to this list as I go along, please add your own.

You can run anything on it if you have 16mb RAM or more anytime... But one app. at a time. I'm not sorry to say, but if you delete all the junk in the phone and clear it.. You'll never reach 32mb RAM. If you're talkin about the n73me.. You got a maximum of 21.9mb to 22.93mb free RAM. AND that's only after "boot up". I just complain alot cause I REALLy use the phone. "power user" stuff. Nobody has anything to worry about, unless you use everything in it, which I do. I wish I had 32mb ram.. Or the the n76's specs on my n73me.. Peace.

Heh... I'd long forgotten that one Silal! Super simple random playback for sure!
That tutorial really only applies to very small numbers of clips. If you want to do this with lots of clips, or tracks then you'll need some scripts. A lot depends on whether you want to ensure there are no repeats, since to keep track of what has played will take memory slots up. Fortunately, it isn't hard to do this, but there are a limited number of slots. How many tracks do you have?
If you don't want to track playback, then point the menu button to the following script (I will assume you have got twenty tracks, check the value in line 2)

add GPRM0, 49280
Jump indirect GPRM0
What this is doing is generating a random number in line 1 and storing it in GPRM0. In line 2 it is doing a modulus operation - that is, dividing by 20 and working out the remainder. You do this because it helps make the random more random... the remainder will be a value from 0 through to 19. In line 3 we multiply that value by 128 - and finally we add on 49280.
The values 128 and 49280 are important. In your project the first track in the list of tracks showing in your outline view will have a numeric value of 49280. The second track has a value 128 more than that, and each subsequent track increments by 128 every time. This means that if your random number ends up as '0' then the multiplication by 128 will leave it as '0', and the adding of 49280 will give you the value of track 1. Similarly, if your random number is 15, the multiplication will give you 15 x 128, or 1920. You then add on 49280 to get 51200. That will equate to the 16th track in your list.
The final line is a jump statement - jumping indirect means to jump to an item that has a value, and in this case we'll get the value from doing some math. We are not jumping to a named track, but jumping to a track by using a track value, hence jumping indirectly.
If you want to continue the playback without going to a menu in between tracks, you add an end jump on to every track that goes to the script. It will then run again and another track will play.
This can get more and more complex - you could have one menu button that picks a clip at random and plays it then goes back to the menu, and another that picks at random and continues playback indefinitely. You can track what has played and make sure there are no repeats - it's possible to track 112 tracks pretty easily and ensure no repeats, but playback gets slower and slower the more tracks you play as the DVD seeks a track that has not yet been played. You can do combinations of tracks, as per the super simple random tutorial, you can do sets of tracks at a time... the possibilities are pretty immense!

Before you do anything, go to Help | Check For Updates and install v3.6.16. There was a security breach at Comodo which is an SSL certificate provider whereby a number of fraudulent certificates were inadvertently issued. This allows a hacker to impersonate any site including online banking and your browser will not display a warning. The latest update in the 3.6.x series blacklists those certificates.

How can I merge all of the new FF windows that are open into one window with multiple tabs? Safari has a merge windows feature that I like. This is really nice when conducting reasearch on multiple sites at the same time.

When I clik on weblinks they all open into new windows making it somewhat painful to clik on window in the menu bar to go to each new page. I would rather have a feature that would allow me to merge all of those individual windows into tabs within one page.

To disable that feature it will depend on whether or not you sync everything in the cloud using Apple's iCloud, OR if you both use the same desktop/laptop computer with iTunes.
