    Hi,
Can some one brief me the advance features available in sql server 2008 R2 compared with SQL Server 2008 SP2.
I am planning to upgrade my existing sql server 2008 SP2 to sql server 2008 R2, before that i need the advantages to proceed , if the advantages are not suite to my requirements then i will drop out this option.
Please give me the detailed reply for my analysis

    Hi Hemadribabu,
There are some new features in SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 2(SP2), including SQL Server utility, Data-tier Application (DAC), Reporting Services in SharePoint Integrated mode and partitioning improvement. Features are supported by the different editions
of SQL Server 2008 R2. For example, the Report Builder 3.0, PowerPivot for excel are available on the SQL Server Datacenter and SQL Server 2008 R2 Parallel Data Warehouse, they can assist you creating business intelligence documents. Here are the Top
new features in SQL Server 2008 R2, including

  • I do not have many messages but my iphone 5s says messages take up 4.6GB of space.  When comparing with friends who have many more message, less than 1 GB is being used on their phones.  Why are mine taking up so much space and how do I correct that?

I do not have that many messages on my new iPhone 5s (maybe about 15 conversations and only one or two going back a little ways) yet when I go to Settings, Usage it shows that my messages are taking up 4.6GB of space.  When comparing with others (some who have hundeds of messages) they are using under 1GB for their messages.  Why are mine taking up so much space??

I found a post with this solution that worked for me - .Do a backup, then download ibackupbot. It lets you look into the contents of that backup. Look in system files>mediadomain>library>sms>attachments. I found a ton of huge files related to long deleted texts. ibackupbot let me delete all that old crap. I then restored the phone with that now modifec backup and Bingo! freed up 9 GB. No problems.
But note, if you are not technically inclined you probaly don't want to be digging around and deleting back up files. You delete the wrong thing and you could jack up your phone badly. Be careful.

  • What is the use of jsp when compare with Struts

what is the use of jsp when compare with Struts

JSP Tag Libraries are great for reusable content formatting and ligic.
For example, let's say you have this Shopping site. Each item you sell is stored in a database, and you get them out depending on Catagories, creating a List of ItemBeans. You allways want to display the items with a catagory header, then a <table> with the item number, the description and the price.
Instead of creating a bunch of logic in the JSP that does this, you can pass it on to a Tag that might look like this in your JSP:
    <shopping:itemTable catagory="${selectedCatagory}" items="${itemsForCatagory}" />
This would make the JSP easier to read and work with.
The actual uses are incredible. Have you used the <jsp:useBean ...> tag? That is an example of a use of the Custom Tag Libraries.
Furthermore, look into JSTL (JSP Standard Tag Libraries). They are a collection of tags (API by Sun, coding by Apache) used to do many of the standard actions you might want/need to do in JSPs, like a conditional tag (c:if only do something if the test is true), multiple-conditional tags (c:choos c:when c:otherwise) like an if [else if] else construct. Looping through an array or Collection (c:forEach), storeing values in scopes (c:set) formating numbers and dates (the fmt library), xml transformations (xml library), and lots of other things that you could replace scriptlet code with.

  • Data in the cube is showing multiple entries when compared with ODS

    Hello BW Gurus,
We have a waste report in production planning on Cube and ODS separately. The same info package loads both targets (which means same infosource) but when we run a report on Cube, the records are showing multiple entries (i.e. Key Figures are not matching when compared to ODS) where as the ODS records are showing correctly as it was in R/3. There are totally 6 key figures out of which 4 pulled from R/3 and 2 are populated in BW.
    An Example:
Waste report in PP run for plant 1000 for 12/2005 and process order 123456. The operational scrap should be 2.46% and the component scrap should be 3.00% for material 10000000. The report is showing 7.87% for planned operational waste % and 9.6% for planned component waste %. These values are not correct. The ODS values for order 123456 matched the data in R/3 for component and operational scrap.
There is a Start routine to the ODS and also to the cube. I am not good at ABAP so requesting your Help.

    Hi Swathi
In ODs we have option of overwriting and addition however in Cube we have only adition.Thats why you are getting multiple enteries.
If you are running daily full load on the cube then please delete the earlier requests.
So at one point of time there should be only one full load request in cube. Hope this will solve your problem.

    Hi Swathi,
May be you might want to look into the way the % is being calculated in the cube. If the formula involves counting the no. of records, then you will also be counting the -ve records that are posted in the cube unless you have had a compression on the cube. that might give you wrong numbers.

  • Value differes in 122 document when compared with 101 document

    Hi Guys,
I have done the G.R(101) for one material in which the Amount in Locu curr say about 100000/-. This document I have posted wrongly. I wanted this to cancel but U.D was already made for the inspection lot created by this G.R document because of this I can't do mov type 102. So now I have processed 122 document in this amount in loc curr is 110000/-. When I compare the Amount is loc curr of both the document there is a difference and when I check the FI document of 122 document It has book consumention account to balance the difference.
Value give here is just an eg.
As per my understadning when we are processing 122 with ref to 101 document no there should not be any difference in the amount.
Here my question is what would be the reason to make this amount diference.
I require reply bit quickly Please help.
    Thanks,
    Dhanu.

    Hi,
You are right that the amount in document of 101 and 122 should be same. But there may be some cases like,
    1. MR21 is done after GR has been done. This may have changed the price in material master. After this 122 may have been done. So 122 has price difference.
    2. Standard cost run may also have effected the price change in material master.
So the only reason for difference in amount of 101 and 122 may be the price change in material master due some transaction other than material movement transaction.

    Nandan.

  • Videos slow to load when compared with desktop / laptop

    Hello
I have a video online which when I watch via my iPad takes about 15 mins to fully load in. If I watch the same video via my Macbook laptop, the video loads in straight away and will stream in.
Both laptop and iPad are connected to the same WiFi network and the video is being accessed at the same time.
Any idea why the iPad takes up to 3 times longer to stream in?
    Cheers

  • AR - Customer Statement - differences when compared with the Aging report

I am running the customer statement (the Print Statement program) 'as of date' say 11-Jun-09, and found that the 'Total Amount Due' for a customer is not agreeing back to the balance displayed on the Aging Screen (Navigation: Collections -> Customer Accounts [Aging butto]) for the customer.
The 'Total Amount Due' on the statement is greater than the balance on the aging report/screen.
It appears that the statement is selecting more receivables transactions (invoices, credit note, payments etc...) than the aging report is looking at. Also the aging buckets on the statement does not tie back to that on the aging screen /report for example the '4 Bucket Aging Report'.
    My questions are:
1, Is it possible for the 'Total Amout Due' on the statement to differ from the balance on the aging report/screen?
2, What factors or reasons might cause the above senario to occur?
3, How can one start to investigate this in order to account for such differences?
Ideally what I would like to do is run a sql script that will show what is being selected for the statement 'as of' a particular date for a customer, and another sql that will show the same customer account balance and aging buckets at the same 'as of' date.
And perhaps another sql that would show the same customer open receivable transactions.
    Thanks.

    Hello.
This query will show you the customer open receivable transactions:
    select c.customer_name,
decode(ps.class, 'PMT', 'Payment', 'INV', 'Invoice', 'DM', 'Debit Memo', 'CM', 'Credit Memo') Type,
    ps.trx_number,
    ps.trx_date "Inv Date",
    ps.due_date "Due Date",
    ps.acctd_amount_due_remaining "Amount Remaining"
    from ar_payment_schedules_all ps,
    ra_customers c
    where c.customer_id = ps.customer_id
    and ps.status = 'OP'
    and ps.org_id = &orgID
    and c.customer_number = &CustNumber

  • Why is saturation reduced in my HDR results when comparing with the original images?

Yesterday I took several sets of RAW images with Panasonic LX3 to perform HDR.
However, the HDR results look less colorful than the original images, they became dreamy, blurry and unrealistic.
Is it because every set only has 3 images with different exposures?

You would probably get a better answer if you posted this in the Photoshop forum. This forum is for Lightroom, which is a quite different animal.

    1. Unicode enabled programs
    2. New ABAP Editor which is same as Visual Basic editor
    3. New Debugger
    4. Doesnt support few ABAP statements which were supported in 4.6C.
    5. Has come up with new Function Modules & few FM's of 4.6C are obsolte in ECC 6.0
    6. Architecture Change - ABAP Stack along with JAVA stack etc

  • Compared with the iMac display...

Why does it seem to me that when compared with the iMac display, the 30-incher looks somewhat grainy and plays videos not so well? Is the 24" iMac display actually a better display?

The Cinema Display has a anti glare coating on it. I have heard allot of people who have the 30" display complain that it is very noticeable. I have the 23" and it is noticeable but it's not bad at all.
I too have my display connected to an iMac but I think the Cinema Display looks much better.

  • Cost of ints compared with doubles

This question isn't strictly specific to Java, but I was just wondering if there were any rough figures, or an order of magnitude as to how much more expensive float or double calculations are when compared with int calculations for operations such as addition, multiplication etc.
I've read that some people try to avoid floating point calculations wherever possible and would like to know if it is still worth the effort, with processing power at the levels it is now.

These sort of performance metrics are usually best avoided. Use whichever arithemetic is best for the job at hand. In 3 months the slow processor will be replaced (I think there's something called Moore's Law about this)
It is quite possible that the floating point processor is 10 times as slow as the fixed point arithmetic, but you will waste more than 10 times the instructions by reimplementing COBOL's fixed point decimal data type in Java. You could also break that precious pipeline with an unfortunate branch down in the machine code.
These kind of measures also vary significantly from one machine to another, often within the same family. If this level of performance is a serious issue, you are best off programming the critical portion of your code in Assembly language and customizing it for each supported processor, you could even have a C version for the other processors. That's what the real-world games programmers often do.

How did you get on with this?
Have you tried CSS position:fixed?  I have been playign around with it on my own project  (and in fact are just about to post a related question)  and can confirm that it works with a plain old DIV.

    Hi,

    1. SQL Server is only Windows, but Oracle runs on almost all Platforms.
    2. You can have multiple databases in SQL Server, but Oracle provides you only one database per instance.Given that the very term 'database' has s different meaning in the two products, this "difference" is absolutely meaningless.
    3. SQL Server provides T-SQL for writing programs, whereas Oracle provides PL/SQLWhich means what? Both products have a procedural programming language. They named them differently, and the languages are not interchangeable. Means nothing in comparing the features/strengths/weaknesses/suitability to purpose.
    4. Backup types in both are the same. (Except Oracle provides an additional backup called Logical Backup.)You make that sound like "Logical Backup" is something more than it is. It is nothing more than an export of the data and metadata. Many experts don't even consider it a backup. I'm sure SQL Server provides the same functionality though they probably call it by some other name.
    5. Both provide High Availability.Well, I guess they both have a suite of features they refer to as "High Availability". But what does that really mean? The devil is in the details. Remember, the two products don't even agree on what constitutes a "database".
    6. Both come in various distributions.???

If you are going for an Implementation, you can try SQL Server Express Edition and Oracle XE which are free to use.
Then you can choose whichever is comfortable for your needs.
    Thanks.
