Federated Portal Content and HTML Page Navigation

I have an HTML Landing page for several worksets that is hosted off of a static content server to reduce lag time from things like KM iViews.
However, these landing pages have links to various iViews in the portal using the return EPCM.doNavigate('ROLES//:pcdlocation')".
Currently, I need to figure out how to have this HTML page load an iView from a content portal while linked from a Producer Portal. Any thoughts?

  • Difference between Abstract portal Component and JSPDyn page.

    Hi Experts,
What is the difference between Abstract portal Component and JSPDyn page.
    Thanks,
    Jay.

    Hi,
The PDK provides two methods for creating a portal component:
    Abstract Portal Component
The Abstract Portal Component class offers a lean method for writing HTML commands to the Web client as well as for basic event handling. It is an implementation of the IPortalComponent, which is the central abstraction of the Portal Component API.
    DynPage
The Page Processor Component, which extends the Abstract Portal Component, returns a DynPage. It provides more sophisticated event handling. Controls that produce events (such as buttons and checkboxes) have an event attribute that contains the name of the event handling method. This event handling method is invoked by the DynPage when it occurs.
The JSPDynPage is an implementation of the DynPage and allows the use of the DynPage in combination with JSP (Java Server Pages).
The PDK documentation and examples focus on the DynPage. Easier event handling and the separatation of content development (JSP) from application development (Java) make the DynPage a better choice for components with interaction and changing content.

    Buenos dias
Quisiera saber si existe la posibilidad de visualizar una pagina web en un symbol, de manera que dependiendo de un menu, me muestre una dirección u otra.
No se si esto es posible, porque soy muy novato en esto.
    Les ruego su ayuda.
    Gracias y saludos

    >btw im noob in html =.=
Iframes are usually a terrible solution, in my opinion. If
you need the background fixed, why not just set it to fixed rather
than introducing fames and all of the problems they bring? Do you

  • Content And Structure Page Missing Content And Structure Report Views

    Hello,
In our Sharepoint 2013 farm, we have a site colllection with Turkish Language Pack.
When Farm admin displays the Content And Structure page, he has access to all
Content And Structure Reports from the View menu.
Howeverall other users including site collection admin
could only access to default view from the view menu.
Content And Structure Reports list can be displayed by those users.
I checked the permissions, sharepoint logs with verbose level and event logs but had no clue at all.
Is there any points that should be checked?
    Kind regards
    Serkan

    http://www.learningsharepoint.com/2014/01/28/users-only-see-default-view-in-content-and-structure-in-sharepoint/
To resolve the issue, I started by checking the following :
    1. If the Publishing Features on the site Activated – The Publishing features were enabled on Site and Site Collection levels.
    2. Does Site Collection Admins or another user see the Options – Only Site Collection admins were seeing the extra Options. Other users like with Contribute Permissions and even Full Control would not see the Options.
    3. Lastly, I checked if the Users who are trying to Access the Views in Content and Structure tool had Contribute Permissions on the site –
All users who were experiencing these issues had Contribute Permissions on the site.
So after looking at the above facts, I realized that something is wrong with the permissions on the site and that is restricting these users to see all the View Options as seen by Site Collection admins.
Solution – While checking the permissions I found out that the Top-level Site Collection had NT authenticated users added to it but with a “Limited Access” assigned to it Instead of the required “Read”. Switching the permission for NT authenticated users
(or users who had this issue) to “Read” fixed the problem.
So the moral here is that if in case your users are not seeing any Options other than “Default View” in Content and Structure View drop-down, try giving them at least “Read” permissions at the Site Collection or top-level to make other Options Visible.
If this helped you resolve your issue, please mark it Answered

  • Content on .html page not displaying?

For some reason, a .html page that I made using Dreamweaver CS6 and put on my website is not loading the image content on it. Here is what I see when I go to that link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/90130393@N08/8229766411/in/photostream. Any ideas?

A link would be more productive but since you haven't provided one, a few more things to check.
Are you sure your images uploaded to the correct location on your server?
Are your images saved for web as RGB and not CMYK?

  • Federated Portal Content Copy

    Hi guys,
I implemented an FPN scenario and it kind of worked. I can browse content stored on the producer but content copy, from the producer to the consumer, hangs indefinitely and never stops (either in IE or in Firefox).
    Any clue?
    Cheers,
    Marco

    Hi Marco,
Check this what SAP says about content copy:
    Remote Content Copy  Solved restrictions:
IMPORTANT: The architecture supporting the 'remote copy content' usage mode has been modified in SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SPS 10. It now supports delta link relationships between the copied objects (for more information about the new functionality support, see 'Remote Delta Link' below). This modification resolves many of the restrictions and limitations related to this content usage mode. We recommend not implementing the 'remote copy content' usage mode if you are running SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SPS 09 and earlier. The reason being that any content using the old architecture will not be functional after the change. It is recommended to use Remote Role Assignments until SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SPS 09.
Some of the restrictions that are related to content usage mode Remote Content Copy are:
o This mode not supported as of SAP NetWeaver SPS 10 - you cannot use Remote Content Copy objects as of SPS 10 (no migration is available).
o Only WSRP-compliant content is supported with this content sharing mode. This means for example that only iViews can be copied. Web Dynpro iViews, PRT server-side events between iViews and Object-Based Navigation (OBN) are not supported.
o Producer and Consumer must be of the same version and SPS.
o Changing an object name after copy is not reflected in PCD.
o Objects containing URL iViews have to be executed on the producer before copying them (execution will fail otherwise).
o In case copy process fails or is cancelled: objects might remain locked in producer. The producer administrator has to release these objects manually.
o Browsing through remote Portal Catalog fails when many folders are extracted at the same time - cache needs to be cleared.
    reward points if this helps.

  • Keeping track of portal content and transports

    Hi,
We have a DEV portal Ep 6.0 sp19. We would now like to setup QA and PRD systems and need a way to manage content between portals.
The document 'Best Practice - Transporting NetWeaver Portal Content'  suggests using a Word document to keep track of content changes and transports.

Is there a SAP template that can be used as a starting point for such a document?
    Regards
    Sunil

    Hi schlueterd!
Build a small applet extending Runnable, ie: a threaded one. Each time its "run" method loops the applet will read an small input file and updates "displaying score" component.
Of course you'll need to update this input file as soon as possible.
You'll use few classes and a good reference is any applet displaying scrolling text (search for open source in the web).
    I hope it helps.

  • Transporting/Deploying Portal Content and Delta Linked Objects

I researching the best way to trasport/deploy changed ESS Portal content from sandbox to D>Q.  I have become familiar with the few changes my co. needs to deploy part of ESS.  I have read articles that say it is wrong to modify the "Content Provided by SAP".  The recommendation appears to be "use delta link objects". I created the necessary delta links in a new directory.
How do I get the delta link objects to display instead of the sap source objects? I this primarily related to how the  portal is configured or how the content is managed?
I'm really sorry about the general question (in advance) but this stuff is new for me and I'm essentially looking for some good direction here.
    Thanks,
    James

    Hi James,
Yes exactly right. You should create your own PCD folder under Portal Content to store your objects. How you structure that is entirely up to you, however in my experience I have seen two ways
    1. First by Function or Dept (e.g. Finance, Logistics, HR) then by technical object (iView, role etc...)
    2. First by Technical Object (e.g. iViews, Roles, Worksets etc...) then by function or dept or region (Finance, HR etc...)
Number 1 makes more sense to me. Just some other tips when it comes to creating PCD content:
    1. Put everything in your own namespace (e.g. com.mycompany) that way it is easy to separate from SAP content using filters.
2, Come up with a logical naming standard so you can easily identify content by group, function and technical type (e.g. for an iView you might name it whoswho with the prefix com.mycompany.hr.ivu resulting in a name com.mycompany.hr.ivu.whoswho)
    2. Don't give PCD folders any prefix (e.g. com.mycompany) as it ends up elongating the resulting URLs unnecessarily and you can run into problems down the track.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Flash image and html pages

I do have an SWF sequence of images in the main html page. In

  • Transfert between Labview and HTML page

Is it possible to transfert data between LABVIEW and a HTML page without using a java applet?
    Is Labview including this possibility?
The aim is to pilot a system via internet with a html page.

    Hi Mat,
LabVIEW CGI is the best solution for that. I know that you can build ActiveX controls (in Visual Basic) that talk to labVIEW. But LabVIEW CGI is the easiest way of doing that. You should have some knowledge of HTML inorder to work with LabVIEW CGI.
Also note that in order to have the LabVIEW CGI capability you should have Internet Toolkit for LabVIEW (available from NI). For more information
    http://www.ni.com/labview/internet/
The examples that ship with the toolkit should get you started on it. LabVIEW CGI VIs would allow you to execute VI from web browser and get results back in web browser in form of HTML page.

  • HELP!: centering site content and resizing page

    hello,
basically, is there a way to automatically center the content of a site? a lot of times, the content is a little bit off and i've got to think there's an easier way to center things automatically. if not, are there guides so that i can set borders on the left and right side somehow? there's got to be a way!
also, i want it to were the page of my site is the same, no matter the resolution of a monitor. i've seen a site that does this, to where the page size doesn't seem to end and the content stays centered. for example, the site http://www.afirealestate.com/ is an example to give you a better idea. i've went on a couple of computers with different resolutions, but they looks the same, without background borders. that's what i want!
any help would be much appreciated!
i've been trying to figure this out for a long time to no avail...

Have you used the "inspector" to set the size of your page? Also there are "blue guidelines" for centering the page too .... they are a big help to me. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your question but if you haven't tried these options check out the inspector ... second icon from the left will take you to the "page" options .... that lets you set your page width and then you can drag your comment section to a size to fit within. That's when the blue guidelines pop up for centering. Hope this helps in some way!

  • HTML Page Navigation

    Good afternoon,
In my application I have a spinner that allows me to jump to a certain page and I am very successful with using xfa.host.currentPage = 2 for the PDF view.
My question is how can I replicate this logic in HTML?
    Thank you,

Hi Steve, thank you for responding.
    I tried using xfa.host.setFocus("xfa.form.form1.ConsentForm"); I tried using setFocus("ConsentForm") and setFocus("form1.ConsentForm").

  • Portal themes and Web page composer

    Hi,
I am wondering how applying portal themes would impact the views in Web Page composer based / created sites?
We are trying to create new sites using web page composer tool but was wondering if simply applying portal themes solves our problems of display (colors etc).  I know that portal themes would not cover the layout of the pages but atleast we only have one other thing to solve.
By the way was also wondering if I got the concept correctly. When an admin person applies a portal theme, the specific team he or she assignes to the users will be permanent for all the users under a role or group right?
    thanks in advance

Well Alvin, logically the theme applied to portal should take over any content published using WPC. I remember during our implementation, we did not have to had any extra efforts for creating themes for WPC sites :-)...Also for your other question, as per the display rule applied, the theme will be applied to all the users under a group.
