Feedback forms / drop down menus

Hello, I am fairly new so apologies if the questions posed may seem daft or have been answered before. Is there any way that within iWeb a feedback form can be added or a form with drop down menus? I cannot seem to find anything related to these items anywhere. I appreciate any help.
Many Thanks
Rob

For feedback forums there are 3rd party sites like Wufoo which you create the form and add it to your page or the forms you create yourself. Examples of both are on this demo page: Embedding Forms & Encoding Email Addresses.
For drop down menus do a search in this forum as they were discussed very recently.

  • Drop-down menus and submitting completed forms

    Hi,
      I have two questions:
    1)  On my form I have multiple drop-down menus.  Is there a way to allow the user to return the field to its original blank state once an item is selected from the menu?  I noticed that I could add a choice to the menu that is simply spaces and when that line is selected, the field returns to blank.
    Is there a better way?  To reset the form following a "mis-click" on one of those menus would be frustrating for the user.
    2) We would like to set the form up so that when the user is finished, they can click on a button and the form is saved in PDF form and also with the XML data.  In reading about LiveCycle, it seems to me that we need to send it to a URL or by e-mail, but we would like for the user to be able to save it to their own hard drive.  Do you have any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Michael H

    This bug still occurs:
    How to Reproduce:
    1.Download:
    http://jqueryui.com/resources/download/jquery-ui-1.9.2.custom.zip (or any other version)
    2.Find the default example for sortable:
    jquery-ui-1.9.2.custom\ development-bundle\demos\sortable\default.html
    3. Replace first li item to (just to add a html select)
    <li class="ui-state-default"><select><option value="1">1</option><option value="2">2</option></select>Item 1</li>
    4. The dropdown options will not appear(as if the dropdown is disabled).

  • Adding up Form Fields that are drop down menus

    I have the following form with a radio button, pull down
    menus and a text field. I would like to have a total amount due at
    the bottom of the form that adds up the tickets/contributions they
    would like to purchase. I have the radio button working but can not
    figure out the code for the pull down menu and text field.

    Is there a particular DW extension for drop down menus you recommend?
    Yes, the one in my previous post - commercial,but it can be used on multiple sites, no restrictions. You do have a choice, Read the descriptions of the tp 3 here:  http://www.projectseven.com/products/menusystems/index.htm
    I'd suggest the Pop Magic 2... is more versatile.
    Also, are there any resources you suggest for the painful transition from HTMl thinking in DW8 to CSS in CS4 like a Dummies book or Lynda.com? After three days of messing with CSS elements, I still think in tables for complex designs and I keep quitting the learning
    Here are some good tutorials to get you started, from the basics to completing a full site:

    http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/tableless_layout_dw8.html

    A good css / html reference site:
    http://www.w3schools.com/
    Lot of good articles on CSS over at www.sitepoint.com as well.
    It is a lot to take on board, but start off small, firstly by at least styling your current table layouts with CSS and then moving onto using Divs for layout.   It is nto as easy as some people say it is to move over from table layouts and sometimes you wonder whether it's worth it, especially when you may find yourself facing various browser bugs, but if you remember to code for Firefox first and then adjust for IE, you'll be set  :-)

  • My Drop Down Menus Do Not Work Properly in IE

    Hey. I'm really stuck and have been for over a week. Let me preface this by telling you I didn't build our website and have little knowledge of spry and spry assets. I can't the get the gentleman that built our site to help and I'm desperate!
    The site - www.ncsoccer.org , has drop down menus. They work fine in Chrome, FF and Live Preview (DW CS4). But in IE8, they do not.
    I had to revise the drop downs (changing names and removing some drop downs - I've done this with no problem before). When I uploaded the index page and the template pages, the error started.
    In addition, the people in my office that use Contribute to update their sections, cannot access anything but our index page and I don't know what (if anything) I've done wrong, as everything worked fine before the menu revision.
    I'm including the 'sprymenubarhorizontal.css" code below. Maybe you can see something that isn't right.
    Thanks for any insight or suggestions. Remember, asking me to create to create sprys or widgets or something like that may be over my head! Try to dumb it down for me!
    Thanks.

    ul.MenuBarHorizontal li

        list-style-type: none;

        text-align: left;
        cursor: pointer;
        width: auto;

    The rest have been given a width of 15em, so this value may be a good start.

  • Business Contact Manager 2013 Issue with drop down menus not working correctly and BCM disappearing.

    We upgraded from BCM 2007 to BCM 2013.  Now the BCM disappears from Outlook occasionally and the drop down menus are confused. for instance when accessing the drop down for phone numbers, the user selects company - but the field for TTY/TDD comes up.
    Shows fields that don't exist etc.
    The client is using Office 2013 Pro Premium from Office 365 Small Business Premium subscription and BCM downloaded from Microsoft website.
    Please let me know what the support avenues are for this product.
    Chris Smith

    Hi,
    This issue may be caused since the BCM was not installed properly.
    Please go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features, find Business Contact Manager for Microsoft Outlook and Uninstall it.
    Then go to
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36513, download the right version of BCM(32bit or 64bit) and install it.
    If issue persists, you may provide the screenshots of the issue, post them to SkyDrive and share it via a link:https://skydrive.live.com/, then we will have a better understanding on the issue.

  • Why are drop down menus on webpages in Safari no longer working? I have iphone4 ios6.0.1. Is there a fix?

    Since I updated to 6.0, the drop down menus on the web pages I use in Safari on my iphone 4 are no longer working.  The drop down appears and then quickly disappears so that you can't select anything.  Is there a fix?  One example is http://www.scvavolleyball.org/  I need to select Juniors>Girls>Weekend Sites but I can't on my phone....but I used to be able to....and I still can on my ipod touch.  Help.

    The current release supports the white-space property for a text area and it is possible that the website uses white-space: pre instead of white-space: pre-wrap.
    The former will prevent Firefox from wrapping the text.
    You can check that in the Inspector via the right-click context menu.
    *https://developer.mozilla.org/Tools/Page_Inspector
    See:
    *https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox/Releases/36#CSS
    <blockquote>The white-space property is now working on <textarea> HTML elements (bug 82711).</blockquote>

  • Using Javascript to require 2 drop down menus to have something selected

    Hi everyone. I'm trying to get 2 drop down menus to each have something selected when the form is submitted. I'm using javascript for this, but I can't get it to work. Basically, if one is blank and the other one isn't, I want an error to pop up saying they have to fill in the one that is blank and vice versa. What am I doing wrong? Eddie,
       I actually got this javascript below to work so if one drop down is left blank, and the other one is filled out, an error will pop up saying to entering either some initials or a rev. The only problem is that I have a dynamic list of drop downs in rows, so I need this javascript to run for each row. If I do the 1st row with 1 drop down selected and the other not, it gives me the error, which is perfect. But if I want the 2nd row to error out, for instance, doing the same thing, the error will not pop up. How do I make this work so it does this for each row since the list of drop downs is dynamic? My drop down menu names are Mfg_Spec_Prod_Approval_Initials and Mfg_Spec_Prod_Approval_Rev.

  • Master detail form - drop down list in detail (ADF)

    Hi,
    Been racking our brains for a few days/weeks about this one, and would be grateful for any pointers why this does not work.
    We have developed an in-house application for dealing with risk and chemical assessments.
    The process we have adopted allows users to create an assessment first then they are taken to another form where they are then able to add risk factors/ or chemicals relating to the assessment. The intention is to present the user with the ability to select from a drop down list which contains the chemical names.
    We have been going through the forums and have tried all the examples we can find (all the examples work on our system), but when we try to adapt them to our approach they create an error indicating that they cannot find the values in the entity object.
    Has anyone else come across the same problem or is it that the ADF is not suited to dealing with the master/detail approach and drop down menus.
    The drop down lists are in an ADF table.
    Thanks in advance
    Andrew

    Hi Kuba,
    Thanks for the pointer, I think we tried that one early on. For the time being we have opted for using a selectInputText box, and that appears to be working. Well at least it has got us past the deadline for yesterday, now onto the next deadline.
    Thanks again!

  • Editing Drop Down Menus in Contribute

    I have a client who is using contribute and wants to edit
    drop down menus. These drop down menus link to individual pdfs and
    she changes the names of the pdfs on a regular basis and wants to
    update these links in the drop down menus. The site was created in
    Dreamweaver. In role preferences of Contribute I turned on the
    allow unrestricted editiing which allows form elements to be
    edited. However I cannot figure out how to change the drop down
    menus. Is there any way to edit the drop down menus fields in
    Contribute?

    Create a SSI (with PHP f.i.), best in de root of the site,
    considering the way Contribute is handling linking.
    Call the file something like menu.inc.php.
    Provide your client with the url to menu.inc.php in the
    Bookmarks or explain the Choose-button in Contribute to open the
    file menu.inc.php.
    Keep the file simple (ul/li or p) .

  • Multiple drop down menus

    I have generalised this question to JSP's i'm using the struts framework but it applies to JSP's as well anyway:
    I have many part drop down menus. These are mapped to partXX, part XX where XX represents the part number. This is a bad way of doing it because i can't easily add more parts to my form without creating more variables. I've tried storting it in an array but the last selection is stored and then previous one is wiped when the form is submitted. Any ideas?

    Given that you use JSP twice in the first sentence,
    possibly the JSP forum would be a smarter place to
    ask your question?

  • Drop down menus and image loading

    Hi there,
    I have an idea on my site to display photos for consumers to purchase. What I have is 2 drop down menus, the first one has a list of the galleries, the second has a list of the photos. When you select a gallery a corresponding list of photos for that gallery appears in the second drop down menu. That part I've got under control. After that, the user is supposed to press a "Check Picture" button and the picture they have selected is supposed to come up in another small window so they can double check that they the photo they want is the one they are ordering. Firstly I wanted the photo to appear in an applet that I had at the top of the screen but that seemed WAY too difficult so I decided on just having it load up in a new window scaled down to just fit the pic.
    The code for the "Check Picture" button is this:
    <input type="button" name="Button1" value="Check Picture" onclick="WinOpen()">
    but I'm having trouble with the WinOpen() function.
    Because of the two drop down menus I've had to put this code in:
    var groups=document.doublecombo.example.options.length
    var group=new Array(groups)
    for (i=0; i<groups; i++)
    group=new Array()
    group[0][0]=new Option("-Select A Picture-")
    group[0][1]=new Option("")
    group[0][2]=new Option("")
    group[1][0]=new Option("Barrel Shed","photos/gallery1/barrelshed.jpg")
    group[1][1]=new Option("Cafe Jojo","photos/gallery1/cafejojo.jpg")
    group[1][2]=new Option("Close Up","../photos/gallery1/closeup.jpg")
    ...that I got from a tutorial (but of course I don't really understand it.)
    Is there a way that in the WinOpen function I can have something like...
    window.open("../photos/gallery1/"PicValue".jpg","DisplayImage","menubar=no");
    and then down with the options part I can include a value that corresponds to each picture.
    ...or am I going in the completely wrong direction and there is a much easier way that somebody knows of.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards
    Peter

    Not too sure as this is a JavaScript question but I'll give it a shot.
    You should try to get the value (which appears to contain a URL) from the second drop-down form element. Not sure what it's called but if you look at the second select element it should have a name associated with it (I've assumed it's called example2).
    url = document.doublecombo.example2.value;
    window.open(url, "Display Image", "menubar=no");But as I said, I'm not sure.

  • Drop down menus not working

    Hi, I am using DVDSP2.0.0 - it has been working fine for ages then suddenly about half of the drop down menus have stopped working - for example if I go to the "First Play" drop down menu in the "Disc" window and click on it - it goes blank. Any help on this would be much appreciated. NB: I recently did a software update including going up to OSX 10.11.4 and also a Pro application support update.

    No-one from Apple, apart from the moderators, reads this forum. If you need to send feedback about a product there are alternative places to do so, which will be more effective than ranting here.
    V2 has been quite a long time outdated now, and I don't think it is unreasonable to update your software to keep up with the developments in the OS. The software depends on Quicktime for a lot of the things it does, but changes to the QT architecture with successive OS updates are not backwardly compatible with older QT releases. QT6 is a different beast to QT7, for example. The only way to reliably keep older software running is to not update the OS.
    That said, I do still occasionally see if DVDSP v1 still runs and the machine I have that on has 10.4.x on it... yet I installed it at 10.0.x, I believe. Amazing really, but then it is a different set of code to v2.
    The other thing to consider when menu entries go AWOL is whether or not you have any font management software running, and if you have inadvertently turned off any fonts which the software uses.
    Finally, if you have the older OS on a disc, can you not simply downgrade until such time as you get to a point where the upgraded FC Suite makes sense for you?

  • Linking Drop Down Menus

    I need help with creating a form. I want to have two drop down menus that are linked. One that has Option A, Option B and Option C and a second that has Option 1, Option 2 and Option 3. I want it to be able to filter based on options selected.
    For example, if you select Option B in the first drop down menu then only Option 1 and Option 3 are possible selections in the second Drop down menu. How do I configure this?
    Thanks

    Changing Another Field with Combo Box (Drop Down) Selection by Thom Parker describes how do this by use of the data object in Acrobat and LiveCycle Designer.
