"Feedback" problem in XML Forms

Hi Forum,
                I have created an xml form (for creating and showing articles similar to News) using form builder. In the "show" form i placed a button and assigned the action "Details" to it (So when it is clicked takes to Details Screen). Created a KM Navigational iview that uses my custom layout "myNewsExplorer" in which i have removed some of the command groups like properties, permissions etc.. as i dont want the end users to see these options in the details screen. But to my surprise the feed back button's action is not using myNewsExplorer layout and it is directly pointing to AdminExplorer and giving me all the unwanted command groups and commands. How can i make the feed back option to point to my custom layout set.
                 I dont want to use "give feedback", "feedback" commands at the resource renderer level, since they dont provide facility to open the given feed backs and read (They only allow to give feed back and just list the given feedbacks).
                 Now i am trying to use two feed back buttons in the show form, the first one with action - Details (for admin). I want to get this button to only specified admin user and not to end users. How can i capture the current logged in user from the xml form and put a condition that this button should only appear to admin user ?
                 Please share some ideas. I need to deliver this functionality immediately (working at client place).         (Points Assured)

Hi,
Your requirement is to Browse from different km folders based on some dropdown selection in xml form. is n't?
We also face similar kind of problem, in which we have to enable/disable one fields depends on value of another fields.
As i know it is not possible in XML Form. We acheived our requirement by adding some javascript in generated xml form. Since it is not a recommended solution i am not suggesting to do so.
Please ask suggestion from others also.

Hi,
i have created one xml form using form builder...there are three views..edit, renderer list and show....then in portal, i created one iview using newsexplorer layout set for edit form and newsbrowser layout set for show form . My problem is...wich layout set i have to choose for getting rendererlist form? one more thing, before creating iviews, should i have to create any folder in km repository ? i am using ep 6 sp2.

Hi ram singh,
There are some steps that you could follow :
1. Create the XML FORMS using the XML FORMS Builder
    a) On Edit panel create your form that will be visible on NewsExplorer Layouset.
    b) On RenderList create how your form wil be visible on NewsBrowser Layouset.
2. Create first Iview for Admin:
   a) Set the layouset to "NewsExplorer"
   b) Set the "Path to Initially Displayed Folder" to "/MyFolderForXMLFORM"
   c) Set the "Path to Initially Displayed Folder" to "/MyFolderForXMLFORM"
3. Create second Iview for users:
   a) Set the layouset to "NewsBrowser"
   b) Set the "Path to Initially Displayed Folder" to "/MyFolderForXMLFORM"
   c) Set the "Path to Initially Displayed Folder" to "/MyFolderForXMLFORM"
That's all! Now you can create new items using the Admin iView, which will be storage on KM path that you had set on steps 2 and 3. When you open your User Iview will be show all xml files that exists on your "/MyFolderForXMLFORM".

Problem starting XML Forms Builder

Hi
I have a SAP EP 6.0 SP2 Patch 28 portal where I newly implemented the how to guide "How To Secure Permissions fro Initial Content In SAP EP 6.0 SP2".
In this guide I need to create a new Content Manager role, due to a SAP Note 775117.
All this seems ok, but now I am not able to start the XML Forms Builder.
I am getting an error message that says something about the <b>"Access is denied:com.sap.portal.system/applications/com.sap.km.cm/components/xfbuilder - security zone:medium_safety/Com.sap.km.cm"</b>
I have tried out several ways, then the recommendation, of implementing to get this application to be loaded, but unfortunately - this does not work.
Have anyone else reach some problem regarding this issue??

Problem in XML Form Builder development

I am developing some KM Navigation iView template with XML Form Builder . I create a label , when it be clicked , relative files will be download to local PC. But the caption of the label is the complete path of the file, not "file down" which I expected.

Problem saving XML Forms builder project

Hello,
I have extended my xml forms project with some functionalities and now I'm not able to save and generate it. When I'm trying to save the project saving process stops while saving 'GUIModel-Internal.xml' which is quite big file (~4MB). I can't find the reason which cause that.
I would be grateful for any ideas.

Hi Fallon,
It was typicall extension with normal changes within the XML Forms Builder. I've added some nodes in Data Schema and then create some controls on Edit and Show form which I connected with the newly created nodes. I know that custom changes in .xsl file will be erased after opening and saving the project within the XML Forms Builder so I'm trying no to do that. Have you got any idea why the project is not saving properly? Is it possilbe that XML Forms Builder could damage some files of my project while saving? After several tries of saving Show form could not be load while opening project. It's quite urgent for me to find solution or cause of this issue.

Problem in XML form generation

I am facing one strange problem while creating new User Defined form after the form is created each and every event gets fired except the lost focus even on which i need to write some code can anyone help me please

Lost focus in user defined form is problem and isnt fired. Im doing it so:
dim isform as boolean = False
In form load event I set isform = true
In form unload I set it back isform = false
in itemevent when some event is rasied and form is other than my form and isform = true I know, that form lost his focus.

Hi,
In XML Form
1) Edit form is used for designing the user interface.
2) Show form is used for displaying the xml form to the end user
3) RenderListItem is used for rendering the xml form into a small description like 1News1, 2news2 etc..
    Here you need to display only the heading of the xml form
After you create the xml form
Create Layout set where you need to give the proerties like xml renderer form , no of items to display etc...

Filter Predefined Properies, Feedback Search, XML Forms Show form issues

Hi all,
I have created XML forms with XML builder and I have some questions.
1. When filtering by predefined properties I want to filter by two properties, which are the same. For example, if there is a publication with two authors and author is the predefined property, in the first field I write the name of the first author, in the second field I write the name of the second author, the result is all publications, which are by both authors and all publication, which are either by the one, or by the other.
I don't have this problem when I filter by two different predefined properties. For example the author and the year. Than the result is all publication, which are by the author AND published in the requested year.
How can I set this option to be able to filter by two same predefined properties and the relation between both properties to be AND?(only publications by both author)
2. In the Show form I have created link to the feedback, using XML Forms BUilder, but I need to write first the feedback to be able to see already existing feedbacks,
if there are any. In the ResourceRendering Form I have created link to the feedback by LayoutSet, where I can see first, if there are already existed feedbacks.
If there is any possibility to set a LayoutSet for the Show Form or any other way in the Show form to display first the existing feedbacks and than to be able to write a new.
And something else reffering to the Show form, is it possible to rate the item from Show form or at least to have link to the rating, not a link to the Details.
I have tried to create a link to the /Properties/col:rating, but it doesn't work. The link dispays the value, if it has been already rated.
3. Is it possible to search for any information in the feedbacks(to make the feedback searchable)?

By Default identic properties queries are connected by an 'OR'.

So far it's not possible to connect two identic proerties by an 'AND' within the standard.
You can preset a search filter via the relevant Search Option Set.

Help Needed, problem reading a configuration file in XML form

Hello,
I am using NetBeans 6.5.1 with Apache Tomcat 6.0.18.
I am trying to develop a web application and in my source files I have a thread that loops every second and reads the contents of a configuration file which is in XML form using java.util.Properties.
As soon as I call props.loadFromXML(new FileInputStream(file)); I get several exceptions that I don't know what they mean nor I know how to resolve them.
I would apreciate any help you guys can provide.

XML Forms Builder - problem with checkbox

Hi,
I have created many checkboxes in XML Forms Builder and if I want to create a new document based on this "Form" I have still checked one of checkboxes. I would like to have all empty checkboxes becasue user should check the appropriate checkboxes.
Do you know how to resolve this problem?

is it always the same checkbox that is already filled in? Is this ckeckbox based on a metadata-definition?
If yes: You could maybe have a look at the metadata-definition. Is there maybe a default-value defined?

XML Form Builder-Problem with the save button

Hi All,
I created a project in XML Form Builder.
I included a button "Save" in my project.
All is working fine when i preview my project in XML Form Builder.
The problem is when i run my project with iview.
I suppose the form to save my input and then to be closed but
unfortunately it did not.
I don't know where the problem is as in the XML Form Builder everything seems ok.

There is no javascript error in the form.
In the status bar when i have my mouse over the button i can see "javaxcript:HrefSubmit('save',"");"
And when push the button "Transering Data..."
I created the form in the Xml Form Builder and in preview there the project works.
What do you mean "Did you access your Form using the KM Admin Explorer via a comman?"
How can i have acess there?

Problem with NewsLayout/XML Forms

Hello,
I have a created News(custom) item, through XML forms. When I preview the Edit,Show and Renderer form, they all work fine.
The problem, I am facing is:
When I create a news item under documents folder: New->Forms->News, it is saved. when i click on this xml file, I can see the news.
But in the iView, when i set the Layout as "NewsBroswer" , these news are displayed as links but not as News item( as we see in Renderer list in XML froms ). All the other forms (FAQ, SAP Demo News are seen as news item )
Can someone tell me why, this problem exists ?

Hi Raghu,
I have already done this. I am using the same layout set( with all the things u have mentioned ) to my other news, it works.
The news where I am creating now is directly under root in another folder which is at the same level as documents folder. Should I do some XML resource rendering settings for this. The XML form is available for this folder.
I have no idea pls help ! Its consuming a lot of my time to correct this.

Problem with HTML Editor box in XML Form

Hi all,
I am using a HTML editor box in one of the XML form template. When I parse the data from HTML editor and apply my own style sheet and display in JSP page, it has no effect on it. Instead the style set by HTML editor box is being applied. Is there any way to override the style applied by HTML editor ?
For example,
Suppose user enters "Hello" in HTML Editor box and saves the xml form.
Then when I parse this data and apply my style sheet like
<style="font-family:arial; font-size:12"><%= datafromXMLform() %>
I should get "Hello" in arial font with size 12, instead I am getting size=1 because of style applied by html editor.
Is there anyway to remove/override this style?

In the property section of html editor in form builder , set the style as none/empty instead of standard.
