Fetching process details using process instance id

Hi,
I have process instance ids captured in a CE table and I am looking to include a feature in existing UI5 application to use the process instance id and fetch it' s corresponding process details like history, context data etc., back to UI.
Any helpfull doc/ ideas on how to implement this will be appreciated.

I didn' t get a chance to try on process histroy however with the responses seen here looks like it is not possible.
Currently I am able to get the task details like the claimed user, list of potential users yet to claim the task etc., which is still usefull in my case.

tell me how to trigger the informatica work flow using the process chains.

Currently, we have a custom trigger file on the BW system. We have a workflow in Informatica that loops periodically and checks the data in this table. When the file changes, the workflow in Informatica then continues.
However, I think a better solution is to use a pmcmd and set up a batch file that runs a command that will schedule your workflow. You can then put this batch file on the BW server and call it from the process chain (use process OS command).
The command will look something like this:
pmcmd scheduleworkflow -s (server) -u (user) -p (password) -f (workflow)
See Chapter 23 in your Informatica Help on using pmcmd.

If we have some 5 processes,how to load these processes parallelly using process chains?
Here do we have to use "and" operation?

Just for the understanding sake, please read the below:
The following processes within process chains allows multiple predecessors to feed into a subsequent process. They are:
AND: All of the processes that are direct predecessors must send an event in order for subsequent processes to be executed
OR: A least one predecessor process must send an event
The first predecessor process that sends an event triggers the subsequent process
Any additional predecessor processes that send an event will again trigger subsequent process (Only if the chain is planned as periodic)
EXOR: Exclusive OR
Similar to regular OR, but there is only ONE execution of the successor processes, even if several predecessor processes raise an event.
as mentioned by srini and others, in your case you need not use a AND process.

I dont think there is any way to update the value of any instance variable directly by PAPI.
What you can do is have a Global Activity with instance access from where you can access all the instance/ external variables.
You can call this activity using PAPI and can send arguments telling it what to do.

How to get the values and attributes of Longlived processes by using ProcessID.

Hi Experts,
For every process we creates, LC ES2 creates processID.
we know that if you creates a long lived process, all the values which are in proces will be stored some where in DB.
Here my requirement is by using processID I need to get all/some values/variables stored in database.
I am not able to get values using processID. Here I don't have clue on how to get the values.
Please tell me how to get the same by using Process Management. Link/guide would be helpful

Searchable means you can put a filter criteria on it (e.g. where amount > 50000)
Visible means you can add have this column returned as an output (and therefore you can add it as column in listview and see it in Task Details).

Discrete manufacturing is u201Cthe production of distinct items such as automobiles, appliances, or computers,u201D whereas process manufacturing covers u201Cproduction that adds value by mixing, separating, forming, and/or performing chemical reactions. It may be done in either batch or continuous mode.u201D
Letu2019s think about what your company manufactures. Does it require mixing chemicals? If so, you may need an ERP system that does things like calculate ingredient quantities.
If your company assembles products from many component parts, youu2019ll require discrete manufacturing functionality
Other approach:
If the finish good cannot return back to its basic components, your manufacturing is Process. For instance, the finish good is a can of soda. It cannot return back to its basic components such as carbonated water, potassium benzoate, aspartame, citric acid, and other ingredients. But if the finish good is car or computer, your manufacturing process is Discrete because it can be disassembled and the parts, to a large extent, can be returned to stock. Therefore Bill of Material (BOM) of discrete manufacturing consists of component parts for assembly while Process manufacturing consist of formulas, recipes and other ingredients
Process manufacturing is scalable. If a formula calls for 1,000 pounds of cake flour, but you only have 500 pounds, you can still bake cakesu2014just not as many. Conversely, in discrete manufacturing, one missing part means waiting for it before the finished assembly unit can start rolling off the production line
The obligatory requisite for process manufacturing is Lot Potency and Shelf Life where as discrete manufacturing values Serial Numbers, ECNu2019s and assembles.

Query on open planned orders details with process order GR details

Dear Experts,
I need to create a query in SQ01 where the requirement is as given below,
Query output should display the open planned orders (Planned orders which is not converted to process order details) details for a material like Planned order number, Planned order quantity, Start date, Finish date and also the details of the list of process orders created for the same material with its details like PO qty, GR qty, Basic start date, Finish date, Actual finish date, BOM Component material codes, component quantity.
But i tried creating this query by joing the tables PLAF+ AFPO+AUFK+ AFKO+RESB . My input parameter will be the Material Number for which Planned order and Process orders are being created.
But i am unable to generate the output when i create a query by joining these tables
Is it possible to obtain the output for open planned order details and process order details in a single query ?
I am failing in my repeated attempts

Dear Bala,
as alternative , for use a query report and not a custom abap report, you can try to read data from MRP tables MDKP and MDTB . In these one tables you can find both elements (planned order and production orders) for to start to research all details that you need.
You can also use MDTB-DELKZ to filter only planned order (PA) and Production order (FE).
With the number order you can read the RESB table in order to define components details.
With this table would you the advantage to have always the opened orders.
If the following table are empty you should make a little customizing modification so that once MRP run will write them.

Error description is not detailed enough to provide the solution. You need to post the error message what you got in the server log files. This should contain specific details about the issue.
Not sure but issue may be related to JVM settings. if it is so, server log file will provide the error description.

How to Identify GP Process ID from Process Instance ID

I am retrieving the running process instances using following method.
IGPProcessInstanceInfo[] runningInstances =
 runtimeManager.getRunningInstances(
 GPSearchRole.SEARCH_ROLE_OVERSEER,
 fromDate,
 toDate,
 userContext);
I need to choose only the process instances of one particular process (I have process id of this GP). From the IGPProcessInstanceInfo object I can get the Process Instance ID. But I am not finding any API to findout the Process ID (not process instance id) of this process instance.
Once I get the process id, I can compare the process ids and decide whether it is related to my process or not.
Is there a way to find this information?

Hi Ram,
the ID you have there is a String variable in the template <TemplateID>a<ProcessID>.
I guess you are looking for a process template, so you can split that String by "a" and use the first Int and then compare that Int.

Creating Sales Order with credit card using Process Order API

When trying to create sales order with payment type as Credit card using Order data storing into staging tables and then calling Order Import Concurrent Program. The order is being created in ENTERED state.
While trying to passing the same details to Process Order API to create Sales Order, we are getting following error:
Unable to set up a Credit Card Bank Account for the Customer.
Credit Card information on the order is not valid.
Why getting this error while using Process Order API.

When using the API, are you trying to create the order as booked using the booked flag or the book action? I would recommend using the action if you are not. To troubleshoot, I would try the API without booking and then use the following article to determine the issue:

Process creation using Global Automatic Activity - OBPM 10g

Hi, I would like create the process instance for my application on every 2nd business day of a month. I also have a calendar defined for checking business day. But I am unable to figure out to how use that calendar to determine second business day of any month. Global Automatic type is set to Automatic schedule and monthy option was selected. But I believe this would trigger the process on every second day of the month, without considering the fact whether its business day or not. There is Runs on Holidays checkbox, but not sure what it really does. If it checks for holidays then which calendar does it refers to. Hence, please let me know how can i specify a calendar or any alternate solution to trigger process creation. Thanks, Namit

But that would have a user to invoke the process..I want to invoke it automatically...I got a part of the answer...But it takes all instances..and creates multiple instances..I want to isolate the instances previously been transferred..What I am doing is ..Using a Global Automatic to invoke the other process.Writing a PAPI code to call the other process from this process...and Polling By Interval every 1m..

I have seen systems with multiple database instances (4-6) and running very well with just the defaults. That being said, follow the recommendations. GG, IIRC, talks to the database which does all of the reads/writes for GG. Therefore, 50+50*n RDBMS INSTANCES.
