Few SAP queries

Dear  Poojary Chetan
Thanks for the stuff of SAP Insatallation and Upgradation. I have downloaded it form Rapidshare.
Just a few questions I have in my mind while I am going through your docs.
1. What about the source DVD/ CD from which you are installation the SAP?
2. Where can I get that DVD/CD?
3. Systems minimum requirements?
4. Right Now I am working on SAP FICO 4.6C. What are the differences of MySAP and Netweaver as compared to SAP 4.6C.
5. You have not mentioned Installation of SAP 4.6C on WIndows and Linux in your this docs as displayed in the attached Snap.
6. After Installation of 4.6C how to configure the main modules e.g. FICO, SD, MM (as mine concerned is with FICO Configuration).
7. If I am missing or wrong at some point, do correct me or guide me.
THANKS in Advance.
Shahzad Iqbal

Dear Iqbal,
The cds and dvds of SAP ECC6.0 is provided by SAP. You need to research more on ,and explore all this on SAP Market Place.
To download the cd you should be having a solution manager landscape later which helps in downloading patches and installation ,also to generate key when you install. You need to study more on License and agreement.
System Minimum requirement is all provided in sap box and sap instguides.
When you speak about the differences between 4.6, my sap  and Netweaver. Netweaver is the latest landscape which combines ABAP standalone installation, Standalone Java installation and mixed abap+ Java application. Your 4.6c is based on Abap .
Try to explore more on Architecture of Netweaver ,http://service.sap.com/instguides for SAPNETWEAVER.
I am not working on functional side, the document posted is only on the Basis side for Netweaver.
Please do close the post .
Cheers,
Chetan.

I was serching for that, in that regards I am seeking your kind help.
    1) I have to write a function module to retrive what are the tables and fields are using in a query.
    2) I need execute a SAP Query through a function module and retrive the result into a table and export that to the function module.
One more thing which I need where these all SAP Queries will save, are there any tables where the information store and what are the fields, tables and join conditions for that queries.
Can you please help me with your suggestions.
    Points will be rewarded.
    Awaiting for your reply.
    Thanks in advance
    Praveen

    Hi,
when you start a query (F8) you get the query´s name as a program (a query is at the end nothing else but a program). If you then go to transaction SE38 and enter the query´s name, you can then explore the core in order to get the objects that you need:
    Search for tables
      SELECT tabname FROM d010tab
         WHERE master = program
         AND   tabname =
    Search for function modules
        SELECT NAME FROM cross
           WHERE include =
           AND   type = 'F'
           AND   name =
    Search for data elements
        SELECT rollname FROM dd03vv
         WHERE tabname = myline-objekt
         AND   rollname =
Something specific and quick for you to get should not exist. This is going to be a difficult task.

  • How to regenerate SAP Queries using SQ01

    Hi Gurus
I have encoutered below error after Upgradation from ECC 5 to ECC 6.0
    "LOAD_PROGRAM_NOT_FOUND"
    "Program "AQQOZSEA_FI=====ZSEAPAYMENT=== " not found"
Kindly guide me how to regenerate SAP Queries
    Regards
    AMK

    Hi,
If you can see the query in SQ01.  Then in the main screen, select the query.  From the menu select: Query -> More Functions -> Generate program.
    This should bring it back.
If the query gives some other error after this, select Query -> More Functions -> Adjust.
    Cheers.

  • Deleting and or moving multiple adhoc/SAP queries in one go.

    Hi,
I am wondering whether anyone knows of a method to deleting multiple SAP queries in a single go.  I would also like to be able to bulk move queries from one user group to another.  We are having a wholesale clear-up of queries and the thought of having to do each one individually is scary!
    Many thanks in advance

To delete queries belonged to a user group, you can use SQ02 -  GoTo - Query Directory, then key in the desired user group and execute. From the output list of this, you can select all queries and click on 'Delete Select Queries' .

If you want to create InfoSets for HR, you can use logical databases PNP, PAP, and PCH . The database you must use to create your InfoSet depends on the component in which the data you want to report on is stored.
    Creating InfoSets
The maintenance procedure for HR InfoSets differs from the procedure described so far in this section inasmuch as HR data fields are grouped together in infotypes. To set up an InfoSet for the HR application, proceed as follows:
       1. On the initial screen for maintaining InfoSets, enter a name for the InfoSet and choose Create.
       2. On the next screen, enter a name for the InfoSet and select one of the HR logical databases in accordance with your reporting requirements.
Customer infotypes can be created on all HR logical databases. In each individual case, therefore, you must decide which database to select so that you can report on customer infotypes.
This screen enables you to enter an authorization group. All of the queries that are subsequently created using this InfoSet can only be executed by persons who have this authorization group.
       3. Choose .
This takes you to the Infotype Selection for InfoSet  screen. You now have the option of creating field groups and assigning fields as required for non-HR InfoSets. Field groups that correspond to infotypes and already contain fields, however, are always created for HR InfoSets. The field groups are displayed in an overview tree in the top right section of the screen.
The infotypes that you included in the InfoSet are displayed in an overview tree on the left of the screen. The infotype fields that are already included in field groups are displayed in a different color, and the field group ID is displayed.
In the standard system, a field group is created automatically for each infotype that you included in the InfoSet (a field group corresponds to an infotype).
In the standard system, each field group contains the infotype-specific fields. To ensure that working with the InfoSet is as easy as possible, you are advised to restrict your use of fields in each field group to those you really require. This means you should remove fields that are not required.
An infotype's fields must only be assigned to the pertinent field group. Make sure this assignment is correct. If the assignment is incorrect, the InfoSet could be rendered unusable.
When an InfoSet is created, the following fields are transferred automatically to the first field group:
    Logical database PNP Personnel number
    Logical database PAP Applicant number
Logical database PCH Object ID, plan version, and object type
       6. Determine the fields that must be included in the field groups of your InfoSet. If you require further information, see
Assigning Fields to a Field Group.
If you want, you can change the default sequence of field groups and fields as required using drag & drop.
       7. To save the InfoSet, choose .
       8. To generate the InfoSet, choose .
On the Change InfoSet (InfoSet name) screen, you can choose Edit ® Change infotype selection to add more infotypes to the InfoSet, or to remove infotypes from the InfoSet. Remember to regenerate the InfoSet afterwards.
This screen also enables you to update InfoSets if, for example, the system contains new additional fields for specific key values. To do so, choose InfoSet ® Additional functions ® Update additional HR fields.
       9. Go back to the initial screen for InfoSet maintenance.
      10. Choose User group assignment.
      11. Select a user group, and save your entry.
    Please reward points.

  • Using MSS Reporting Workset with SAP Queries

    Hi,
we have created a number of SAP Queries and added them to the reporting tree shown in the MSS Reporting Workset.
We have created these queries to "Execute only with variant" and created the variant STANDARD for them to be run with.
If we then subsequently run the reports from the portal the variant is ignored.  Does anyone know if this is the way it's supposed to work?  and if there's a way to get the reporting workset to look at variants?
    Many Thanks,
    Paul

Which I agree with. I think it provides limited formatting feature. But in cases where you need ad-hoc report which needs minimal formatting. This is a good way.
Coming to Cross-tabs I noticed the difference here that. In OLAP Grid I got the hierarchy in a cross tab with expand and collapse feature.I am not able to do that in cross-tab. This is a kind of limitation for me as my requirements need that kind of a layout wherein you have a hierarchy in a cross-tab like layout. Is there a way that I can achieve that in cross-tab report using MDX.

  • SAP Queries

We have upgraded from 4.0B to 4.7. We found in 4.7, Sap Query programs missing.
To the Transaction code assigned are sap query programs and when executed getting short dump.
The transaction code is working in 4.0B which has Sap Query Programs.
When upgrade to 4.7, I should get all the Sap Query Programs (Query, Infoset, Usergroup).
    My question to you is
1)How to get back the Sap Queries in 4.7 from 4.0B
2)While upgrading what steps to be followed for
      SAP Queries
3)Is there any note released by SAP
    4)Any alternate solution
    Thanks

Did you tie Transaction Codes directly to the SAPQuery Generated program?  This can be a problem because the programs are dynamically generated.  We had this problem, so we wrote a simple ABAP program that has parameters for query group and query name.  You can then create a variant transaction code for this report.  The report looks up the query information and calls it dynamically using the query function modules.  If the generated program need regenerating, this will happen on the fly at the first call.  The following are some of the function modules we use:
      RSAQ_IMPORT_USERGROUP_CATALOG
      RSAQ_IMPORT_QUERY_TITELS
      RSAQ_IMPORT_QUERY_HEADER
      RSAQ_REPORT_NAME
      RSAQ_QUERY_CALL

  • Question in HR module in SAP Queries ( transport changes)

Question in HR module in SAP Queries.
One infoset is attached to multiple queries.
If there are some changes in infoset, these changes are done in Development box and saved to the transport request. (queries related to infoset are not attached to the transport request).
These changes have to be moved to the Quality box and further to the Production.
    1. When I move the infoset to Quality and production, do the related queries get affected? Will they work?
Or do we need to attach all the queries related to the infoset in development. ?
    2. What would be the status of the queries that are not attached ?
    3. When the changes to infoset is moved to different boxes, is the original infoset OVERWRITTEN or CHANGES APPENDED.

  • Allow direct file extraction from SAP queries and YTRAN report

To feed transportation planning macro, we use 2 SAP queries under user group
    YUGKO0001SIG,YQRYLO00002SIG,YQRYSD055SIG
--User created variants for each query to extract with file store option to automatically transfer the extract file to the network.
--User would like to set up a batch job via SM36 to extract the files and make them available in back ground, which is not possible in todays process
--Also user need similar functionality for YTRAN report, being able to run it in background and generate a file on the net work

    Hi
u cannot get file in presentation server.. in background..
if you are scheduling any background jobs it should be out of any gui interface.. like gui_dowload , gui_upload// ur need to replace then with cl_gui_fronend_services Class
or u have a option of writing file to application server in background using open dataset syntax.

  • Change Management Process for SAP Queries

Our company has recently implemented SAP.  We are having some struggles with agreeing on a process for developing queries in SQ01.  Our functional specialists currently have to create a query in DEV200 then download to DEV100 to create a transport.
Is this the general practice?  It seems very strange and way too cumbersome considering SAP Query was designed for quick access to data.  As for security the tables are already protected by the roles assigned to the users and the queries are assigned to User Groups within the query.
It also seems that HR uses the queries for all kinds of data searching so access to SQ01 to create a quick query in PRD seems appropriate.

    Hi Karen,
I have seen some companies severly restrict query writing and usage because queries, if not written well, can seriously degrade system performance.
A potential rationale for your company's approach could be to test the query's efficacy and resulting system performance when a query is run.  However, this kind of test won't be very accurate unless you do frequent refreshes of your production system.
I have been with some companies who do write queries in PRD, but the ability to write queries is limited to a very few number of people and they wind up becoming strictly query writers which somewhat defeats the purpose.
A lot of the answer to how your company should approach query writing is going to depend on your landscape, who has access to write queries, and if that access is to information that crosses all functions or is limited to a smaller set of data.
If your company has always had information dissemination controlled by IT, i.e. users have historically had to go to a central group to get a report, then there will be cultural changes needed as well as training if the user population should write queries directly in PRD.

    Julie

  • Introduction to building SAP Queries

    Dear Gurus,
Is there a link on how to build queries in SAP ?
    Regards
    Siddharth Sridhar

    HI Siddharth
    SAP Query
    Purpose
The SAP Query application is used to create reports not already contained in the default. It has been designed for users with little or no knowledge of the SAP programming language ABAP.
SAP Query offers users a broad range of ways to define reports and create different types of reports such as basic lists, statistics, and ranked lists.
    Features
The SAP Query comprises five components: Queries, InfoSet Query, InfoSets, User Groups and Translation/Query.
Classic reporting- the creation of lists, statistics and ranked lists- are covered by the InfoSet Query and Queries components. Other components’ range of functions cover the maintenance of InfoSets, the administration of user groups and also the translation of texts created in the SAP Query.
All data required by a user for a report can be read from various tables.
To define a report, you first have to enter individual texts, such as titles, and select the fields and options which determine the report layout. In the WYSIWYG mode, you can edit the lists using Drag & Drop and various toolbars.
    Notes on Documentation
In the SAP Query documentation, examples are used that relate to the F1S logical database. The structure of this database is described in the appendix, under The Logical Database F1S.

  • Reg: An ABAP program has to run two SAP Queries via BG to Appl. server

    Hi,
I have a requirement to develop an ABAP program to be able to run the two Z Queries respectively and be able to download to the file to the application server via background.
The selection is based on the Query Name, Usergroup and plant. How do we capture the data from the Queries and send it to the application server? Submit Statement is not working. There is a FM: RSAQ_REPORT_NAME from which we get the Query program name when Qery name and User group is given as an input.Through the above FM I have got the Query program name and used Submit statement with List_options to capture the Internal table data of that Query. As the Query program is dynamically generated and not available in TSTC, the Submit is not Working. Kindly suggest me is there any other approach to do it.
      Please provide me the solution.
    Thanks in advance.

Please refer to thread [Authorization Error|WDA adobe error] where various solution to the problem specified by you are described.
