FFT from XY array

Hi, i cant handle with FFT from 2d array. I am converting data from excel. In labview it is a 2 columns with 10000 rows array. Then i am plotting XY graph from this array(using 'build XY graph') and it is well plotted. Now i need to use FFT on this and i really cant figure it out. When i use spectral measurments it shows something like a noise, or other random **bleep**. How my VI looks like is attached below. Sorry for my english

Thanks for your reply. Ive attached my VI, and 2 screens with setup of my VI. For being clear, i am choosing my excel file, my VI is getting datas from excel into array, then i am plotting XY graph from columns: 2 and 3(attached screens). And after this i need to get FFT plot. Cant handle it.

How do I remove NaN values from an array?

I'm trying to test if the values in an array are less than 0.001. All of them are...BUT the problem is that some of the elements in the array are NaN. I'd like to do one of two things:
1. Remove the NaN elements from the array and set them to zero to make the test work.
2. Make the test understand that NaN elements are okay.
The test results in a boolean array of T/F values. If all of the values of the boolean array are T, it will result in a single boolean value of T. In #2, I am saying that I want it to test if an element of the array is less than 0.001 OR equal to NAN.

Your statements don't make much sense. It's irrelevant how many NaNs are in the array. A sort will move them all to the bottom. You had said you wanted to find out if all the elements in an array are less than 0.001, and that you've got some NaNs in there. Well, this will do that:

No - you would need to create a SQL type and then use the TABLE operator to unnest the collection.

How to delete rows from 2D array in this case...

Hello. I'm just begging adventure with labview so please for patient. I created a program whitch suppose work in following way:
2D Input array is array created by FOLDER BROWSING subVI. It works in this way,that browse folder and looking for txt files whose contanins measurment data. In my case subVI founds 4 files,and from theirs headers read information about what kind of data are in file also their's path. In this way is created 2D Input Array. subVI named PLOTS FROM PATHS ARRAY make picture with polar/XY plot. It's create only those plots and legends on one picture as many files(their paths) is setted to the program by output array. I made this subVI in that way and I would not like to change it.
My problem is that in even loop (witch check for any change by user) program suppose to relay anly those rows(files) for which checkbox are marked, e.g. marking anly 1 and 4 box, program should chose from input array row 1 and 4 only and pass them to output array,then PLOTS FROM PATHS ARRAY subVI makes a picture only with 1 and 4 plot and legend only for plot 1 and 4. The best solution would be some relay witch is avtivated by logical signal. It lost to me ideas how to solve it, I'm just in blaind corner...
I tried to use delete from array but I don't know how to do use it properly in this program,becease it can be only before or afeter for loop. Below is scan of front panel and also main problem. Please set me up somehow to solve this problem.

Is there a way to remove elements from an array 1 by 1?

I have an two arrays, and they vary in size depending on a parameter set by the user (both arrays are the same size though, they both can vary in length). What I need to do, is remove elements one by one from the array, and use these as indices for another array. Basically, I built two arrays to store x-values on a graph. At the first value on the first array, I want y values on the graph to move from 0 to Y (any value). Then on the first value on the second array, I want the y values to move back from Y to 0 (creating a pulse, essentially, from the first value on the first array and the first value on the second array). By having each x value act as an indice for the y array, I belive I can acc
omplish this (ie, y =0 up to indice 90, then y = 5, then at indice 100, y goes back to equaling 0). I know this is poorly phrased, but it's difficult to explain. If anyone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it.

Per your comment, you have a sequence, so I've added a simple sequence structure and the 2nd array to provide a 250ms delay between each array output. Let me know...Doug

Display one div at a time from an array?

I am trying to make a multiple choice quiz. I have each question and answer in a div. There are 20 divs. All are set to not display on the stage, and I want to call one randomly to display as the user answers that question.
For the moment, I am trying to get even one question to display on the stage. Here is my code, which is at the top in the edgeActions.js file inside the first function.

Since the console is returning the random number from the array, I have a feeling Edge cannot distinguish the array number from the corresponding div. Converting them to symbols does nothing. I am starting to think it would have been easier to just hand code this rather than using Edge.

I have tried defining my array elements in every connotation I can think of, inlcuding changing them to symbols. I did figure out today that an element has to be displayed before it will even be hit by jQuery, [.show() will not work] and if autoplay is checked while they are off, they will show, and vice versa. Confusing, but it narrowed it down enough for me to see I really just needed to figure out how to call the elements, then figure out all the on/off/autoplay stuff from there.

Adding data from an array to a table

How can i add information from an array to a table via JDBC? I have tried:
stmt.executeUpdate("INSERT INTO TEMP " + "VALUES (" + carData[0] + ", " + carData[1]);
but i get the error:
SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Syntax error in INSERT INTO statement.
Also, can i only add data to some columns of a row and not all?

If your TEMP table has only two columns and both of
them are of number
types, and your array contains only numeric types
(int[], long[] etc., it should not be a problem.
If your table contains more than two columns (and the
remaining columns are nullable) you need to list the
column names in the insert statement. Check your table
definition in the database and see SQL syntax for
insert.
If your columns are of string type, you need to
enclose the values in quotes (alternatively, use
PreparedStatement).I agree with this.
Here is the syntax that he was talking about

Getting a single value from an array collection

I have an array collection that was created from an XML file
through the HTTP Service. One of the nodes in the XML file was
product_number and I can display all of the items in this node in a
datagrid so I know the array has the name of the node in it.
I would like to be able to retrieve a single item from the
array collection (e.g. a product_number = to xxx) and assign it to
a variable.
I would also like to be able to assign all the items in a
particlur column (e.g. all product_numbers) to separate variables
at the same time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can apply a filterFunction.
Or you can do it the brute force way: loop over the elements,
and test for the value you want.
As far as putting values into variables, I am not sure what
you want.

Error while retrieving data from an ARRAY resultset

We hava an Oracle stroed procedure which has a table type as its OUT parameter and where the data is being entered into. This data requries to be returned to the Java client through a JDBC connection. We have used the OracleTypes' ARRAY object for this. We are facing errors when retieving data from the ARRAY resultset
The Oracle Package
----I created a table type called "PlSqlTable":

----I defined this as the out parameter for my procedure :

haven't worked with db arrays but I think your problem is here:int i = 1;

}In the first loop you are retrieving the value from column 1(rs.getString(1)), which is OK, but in the second loop, you are trying to retrieve a value from the second column(rs.getString(2)) which doesn't exist. Try this code which only reads from column1:

Find keyword in XML file from an array of keywords

I have an array of collection of keyword:
$KeyWord = @("Fail","Exception","Terminated","Error")
I want to check in a textfile sample.xml, if any or all keywords from the array $KeyWord exist. If any of the keyword exist in the textfile, a boolean variable $ExceptionOccurred will return $true.
The code I am using working good with a TEXT file, but not working with XML file. Is there a way to convert XML to Text and then look for keyword in plaintext?

Buddy, it seems to me that you are describing data that belongs together -- a class. You are probably better off with one arraylist of objects of this class, each object having a String type variable, an int num variable, and a float price variable, make that a double price variable.
For examples of arraylists in action, please see the Sun java tutorials.

Constructing a linked list from an array of integers

How do I create a linked list from an array of 28 integers in a constructor? The array of integers can be of any value that we desire. However we must use that array to test and debug methods such as getFirst(), getLast(), etc...

How do I create a linked list from an array of 28 integers
in a constructor? In a LinkedList constructor? If you check the LinkedList class (google 'java LinkedList'), there is no constructor that accepts an integer array.
In a constructor of your own class? Use a for loop to step through your array and use the LinkedList add() method to add the elements of your array to your LinkedList.
I get an error that

next()If you look at the LinkedListIterator class (google, wait for it...."java LinkedListIterator"), you will see there is no next() method. Instead, you typically do the following to get an iterator:
LinkedList myLL = new LinkedList();
Iterator iter = myLL.iterator();
The Iterator class has a next() method.

Excel & ActiveX: Insert arbitrary columns from 2D array and create graph problems

Hi there,
I want to insert data from either a 1D or 2D array from LabView into Excel and create graphs.
I used the information from the following example:

and was able to create a new Excel file (I'm using Excel 2010), writing data from an 1D array to a column in excel by creating a while loop and using the first element of the array to write it to a specific cell. I use the counter of the loop to write to the next cell when the loop starts over and always delete the first value, which I write to the cell, from the array until it is empty.
Now I also would like to write a 2D array - so the first column in Excel should be the first column from the array and so. Here I cannot use the loop counter directly as Excel only counts 1,2,... for the rows, but uses A,B,... to count columns. Also I do not know in advance how many columns my 2D array will contain, so creating a lookup table like (A means 1, B means 2,...) is not really an option (except there really is no other way). Is there a possibilty to convert numbers into letters or some way to 'explain' to the program that column 2 in the array means column B in Excel for example, or is there a way to insert new columns?
I figured out how to add new Worksheets and as I also need to create a certain number of Worksheets and I know that on standard 3 sheets are present when creating the file, I use the 'add' methode to create every new worksheets before worksheet 3 - I could use the same methode to create new columns in Excel, but so far I didn't find a methode to do so. Or is there a way to enter the whole 2D array at once?
Then I'd like to create a graph (in case of the 1D arrays a bar plot, when using 2D arrays a 3D plot) to view the data. I found this example:

I tried to load the snippet to a new Excel file but got the error message 'microsoft.office.interop.excel.dll not found' and hence the code is not working. That confuses me a little as I would guess when this dll is not present I cannot access Excel from LabView at all, though my understanding of what I'm really doing so far is quiet limited. ;-)
Also - as far as I understand from the snippet - when creating a new chart object I should be able the create methodes for it, however when I do a right click on the chart object of an ActiveX Worksheet symbol there are none listed.
To explain my problems better I added a snippet showing my two problems: The inner of the two while loops shows how I import a 1D array. In the outer loop I seperate the columns. I know that currently this is not working as all data end up in column A of the Excel sheet - so I would need to convert the number of the outer counter to A, B,... or find a different solution.
Moreover on the snippet I placed an ActiveX Worksheet Property with the Chart Object - as I can see the difference to the Chart Object in the example code from the last link above is the color. However I'm not sure what that means and how to change/ solve this.
And just to make sure - I know this way the VI does not run as the Chart Object is placed completely wrong - I just did it, so it is included in the snippet.

Today I had time to take a look at the example
Create via ActiveX Labview a XY Scatter plot graph on an excel sheet
It almost does what I want in terms of creating a graph. The only problem I could not fix, is that in this example a sheet is created where only the graph is present. i'd like to add the graph to a previously created worksheet. Today I tried get this working but it seems I stilll don't really understand what I'm doing, I'll post a snippet of my code as soon as I can access the PC with LabView on it again.
I also took a look at the other example for inserting 2D attays - it seems to be what I need, I just had no time so far to test it, I'll post an update when I could test it.

How do I removing a specific item from an Array?

I am having an array of movieclips and when my circle(controlled with the keyboard) hitTests true with one of the movieclips inside that array i want to remove that movieclip from the array so when i hitTest it again it returns false (I hitTest using a "for in" with that array).
How do i remove a specific item from within an array?

i haven't noticed anyone showing deference because of the points. in fact, i've seen some people (a minority, to be sure) be just obnoxious about it. i never encountered that before: some people feel they have power because they can dole out points.
but overall i agree with you: the loss of the list of threads i am participating in, along with the most recent posters name, is a significant drawback of the new forums. and there's nothing new in these forums that offsets that drawback.
in addition, i think we've lost way more than 1/2 the older threads. that's a lot of information that's no longer available.
