Fiber refusing to pass layer 3 traffic / Copper trunk works

Hello everyone
crazy issue here.. everything looks like it should be working but doesnt!
a summary would be our 3750 switches will not trunk over fiber (SM or MM) to our core 6500. They work just fine over copper.
The funny thing is, ONE 3750 works over a SM fiber run.
Our goal is to have redundancy to all switches, 1x copper trunk and 1x fiber trunk. running spanning tree mode rapid-pvst. VTP mode transparent (all VLANs are created manually on all switches --- they exist.)
however, the fiber trunks on 2 switches will only pass layer 2 (CDP neighbor has full detail, mac address-table builds off the 6500) but will not ping the directly connected 6500. we are using cisco brand SFP/GBICs GLC-SX-MM &GLC-LH-SM (we are sure the correct SFP is used with correct fiber type)
debug arp / debug ip packet shows Switch B & C never actually learn the core's mac address and tie it to the IP of 153.29.45.1. all switches have a default gateway of 153.29.45.1.

Summary: copper links work fine on all 3 switches. switch A & B refuse to pass layer 3 data on Fiber trunks. all were recently updated to version 12.2(53r) SE2 (c3740e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE8.bin). Core is on 12.2 (33) SXI12 (s72033-adventerprisek9_wan-mz.122-33.SXI12.bin).

i had exactly the same problem while updating using the latest NSU on Windows Vista with SP1.
I guess there is some compatibility problems between the latest version of NSU and Vista.
I tried with Windows XP SP2 and the latest version of NSU, i was able to update my E90 to the firmware version - 200.34.73
In case, you are using XP, I would suggest you uninstall NSU as per the FAQ in Nokia web site and reinstall the latest version.
Please let me know if this helps.

Have you tried closing the iBooks app completely and seeing if it works when you re-open it ? From the home screen (i.e. not with iBooks 'open' on-screen, though it sounds like you can't get it to be open anyway) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iBooks app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset (not sure whether this is what you meant by a restart) : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Pages documents are organized in sections. When you click on the thumbnail for a page, the section containing that page is selected. The Delete command applies to the selection, so if you press delete at this point, the selected section is deleted.
You can separate a section into two or more sections by inserting a section break at the end of the page before the page you want ot be the first in the new section, then inseritng a second section break where you want the second section to end. Click on the thumbnail for any page in the new section, thenpress delete and the new section will be deleted.
If desired, you can then reconnect the two remaining sections into one by deleting the section break between them.
An alternate is to select any floating objects on the pages you want to delete, then press delete. After that, select the text on the pages you want to delete, then press delete.
If all objects on these pages (and al objects on pages following these pages) have been placed as Inline objects, this deletion may be done in a single step. Floating objects placed below the deleted material will maintain their position relative to the top left corner of the first page of the section,m and will not be in the same place within the text as they were before the deletion.

If your jpegs are inserted as inline objects, each will be treated as a single, large character in the text. You will see the same space left and right of the object as you would create by increasing the height of one character in the line of text to the same size as the height of the jpeg image.
If they are inserted as floating objects, then depending on the Wrap settings, they may force text out of the space to the left, right, or both sdes of the object, as well as forcing a small gap above and below the object. If the scan includes excess white space around the graphic, this white space will be included as part of the object

If you are unable to restore your iPhone with iTunes without having to enter the passcode, you will not be able to update your iPhone's backup. You will need to place the iPhone into recovery mode in order to restore the iPhone with iTunes and you can restore from the most recent backup available.

Layer 4 Traffic monitoring

Hi,
Just want to ask the proper way to deploy layer 4 monitoring for Ironport WSA, so below is the diagram.
Lets say the switch has 5 available ports. From fa0/3 to fa0/7.
Do I just use Duplex mode and Tap a line from T1 to the switch? eX. T1 of Ironport to fa0/3
Or use Simplex mode? ex T1 to Fa0/3 then T2 to Fa0/4.

You've got it right, either way. If you put it in duplex, you echo everything from Fa0/1 to Fa0/2. If you go "Simplex", echo traffic leaving Fa0/1 (on the way to the firewall) Fa0/3, and incoming traffic to Fa0/4. On a busy network the duplex port on the Ironport could get overloaded...
I'd probably put all of the "security" stuff on a seperate VLAN so that any broadcasts on the client network don't add to the load.

Avec CS4 il n'y a pas besoin de placer les filtres/plugins dans un dossier particulier, il faut juste indiquer à Photoshop où se trouve le "Dossier des modules supplémentaires".
Ca se passe dans les Préférences.

IDSM missing traffic on trunk interface

I have a scenario where an IDSM with IPS 6 is triggering on traffic from a non-trunk interface but when the same traffic passes over another VLAN on a trunk.
Monitor setup is like this
monitor session 10 source interface Gi1/2
monitor session 10 source interface Gi7/1
monitor session 10 filter vlan 22 - 23 , 208
monitor session 10 destination intrusion-detection-module 5 data-port 1
where 1/2 is the non-trunk interface and 7/1 is the trunk. Traffic from VLAN 23 is firewalled/NATed and sent out on VLAN 208 towards our edge network.
The exact case is that when I browse an external web site with SQL code in the HTML I get an SQL Injection alert from VLAN 208 only. I never get the alert for the same traffic passing behind the firewall over the trunk. When I set a sniffer as source for the SPAN session I see the HTTP request with the SQL code passing through the trunk interface as well as VLAN 208.
Am I missing something here? Shouldn't and IPS report ALL occurrences of bad traffic?

What has to be upgraded, the Catalyst IOS or the software on the IDSM? Our Catalyst has IOS 12.2(18)SXF5 and the IDSM the latest version 6.0(3)E1.
It seems odd that it would be a problem with missing VLAN tags. When I set the IDSM to manually capture traffic from an IP in the inside VLAN passing over the trunk the VLAN tag is present when I view the packets in Ethereal.

Passing variables to server is not working

I am new to action scripts, so I'm not even sure where to
start. I have bits and pieces that I know work, but am not sure why
the action script and the php file on the server do not seem to be
talking correctly to each other. The action script seems to work if
I do not pass any variables, but only just a generic mail()
function in the php file - i.e. mail("[email protected]","Subject is
photography","Mail message body is here."). If I try to use the
variables passed from the action script, I get nothing :-(

Couple of thoughts
1. The PHP side must only return (echo) standard MIME format
application/x-www-form-urlencoded(a standard format used by CGI
scripts).
&var=value$var=value&var=value
So you need to remove all the HTML and only have <?php at
start and ?> at the end with no whitespace before or after these
tags including tabs, enter keys and spaces.
Inside you have echo return the URL encoded variables.
2. Prove the PHP script outside of Flash by creating a
standard HTML form that sends the values. This will allow you to
see the return values from the PHP script that they are in the
requisite encoded form and any PHP errors assuming you have the PHP
error messages open.
3. Place
targetLoadVars.onLoad = function() {

before the sendAndLoad.
You are assigning a variable and it is remotely possible that
the sendAndLoad fires the onLoad before the lines following it are
processed. A remotely possible failure is not a good item to have
in code.
4. Also might be a variable scope problem:

Static NAT pass-through; can not get to work

I am not having any luck getting a static NAT pass-through to work.
BM3.8/NW6.5 all patched to the latest patches (no betas). IPFLT is NOT
loaded.
My internal network on one LAN all have 10.100.xxx.xxx private addresses.
Dynamic NAT works great.
I have secondary public IP addresses bound to my public NIC. Static NAT
mapping between the secondary public IP addresses and the couple of
individual private addresses work just fine. In other words, all has been
working fine.
I need to give one of those internal resources its public IP address
(change it's private to its public).
OK, I went into the NAT table and changed the proper public <-> private to
public <-> public (identical addresses). I changed the internal computer
to it's public address/mask with the same default gateway the server is
using. The internal computer can now only ping itself; can't even ping
it's default gateway. I did reinitialize, and also restarted. I can not
get the pass-through connection to work.
Any thoughts will be well received.

Photoshop CS2 Layer Styles / Blending Options stopped working

I'm running Photoshop CS2 on PC. When right clicking on layers to bring up the Layer Styles / Blending Options palette, I can get the palette okay but the selections won't work when I check the boxes.
I try to select different options....drop shadow, inner shadow, etc. but nothing shows up. It's not a preview problem because the changes are not visible in my image even after I select OK.
I've reset my preferences (alt+ctl+shift) but it didn't help.
Can anyone suggest to me what I can do to wake up this palette?? I've got work pending and my online searches have left me empty handed.

John: The file is PSD, RGB mode, 300dpi. Last night, I tried the layer styles in another file and it wouldn't' work.... another NEW file. Today, I opened an existing file that had layers styles already in effect and I can see them, I can click them on/off AND I can put layer styles onto other layers in the existing files that did not have them previously. I just tried creating a new file and, of course, the layer styles now work in the NEW file.... this is something I tried last night and it didn't work at that time.
Ed: Yes, I'm on the right layer. I've tried it on several layers, none of which are transparent. Thanks for the heads up.
So, this tells me it's something to do with this particular image file. I must've accidentally hit something that's put it into a strange mode. Last night, out of frustration, I just gave up, shut it all down, and turned the computer off. This morning, I went in and created a new image document and then one by one I copied and pasted the layers of my malfunctioning image into the new one. Now I can get the layers to work.
I have no idea what was wrong, but it seems I should just trash the problematic file and start fresh. At least the individual layers were not compressed and it's still salvagable.

Chances are you have Auto-Select chosen in the Options bar of the Move tool
and you are clicking in an area of the Layer that reveals another layer.
Uncheck it.

Anchor tag passing "this" as a parameter not working

i have an anchor tag that is calling a javascript function passing in the parameter 'this'. it seems that 'this' is undefined and not the anchor object, why is this? how do i pass the anchor object in a similar way to using 'this'?
