Another question :
I'm trying to enter a manual SQL statement in BI Publisher (so without using the query builder)
But I don't manage to define a left inner join (so my F0902 is my primary table where I want to fetch eg a few other descriptions of whatever in other tables)
It returns in error when I run the view query.
When I leave the simple join like that (see below), then it will pull up the records that exist in all 3 tables. So I have blanks in F0902 but not in F0101.
So can anyone tell me how to define such an left join in BIP? Or is that not supported ?

Field calculation doesn't auto update

Hello -
I have a complicated PDF Form that has several pages of fields that are totaled and averaged on the last page. I'm using Acrobat X on the Mac.
Basically, on the last page there are 2 subtotal fields that are calculated based on other (direct-entry) numeric fields in the document. Those 2 SUBTOTAL fields update automatically when I change the direct-entry fields. So far so good.
But, then I have a FINAL AVERAGE field that is supposed to average the two subtotals. But when I update one of the direct-entry values, the subtotals update but the final average does not.
Here's where it gets screwy:
If I try to manually enter a valid number (validation is OK from 0-3) in one of the SUBTOTALs, the subtotal does not change but this forces the FINAL AVERAGE field to update correctly.
If I try to manually enter an invalid # (such as 5) in either of the 2 SUBTOTAL fields Acrobat won't let me enter that number, but it WILL recalculate the final average using that number and give me the wrong answer.
I have tried locking the fields, turning validation on and off, but neither has any effect.
I'm using the AVERAGE calculation function. I wonder if the problem is that I'm averaging a field that is itself using the Average calculation.
There are only 2 fields being averaged. I could just add them and divide by 2, but that is not an option in the field calculation, unless I write a javascript, which I haven't learned how to do yet. So, I can't tell whether that would fix the problem. Is there a way to write a custom calculation formula other than using javascript?

The field calculation order is most likely not correct. You just have to set the order to whatever makes sense for your form.
To do this in Acrobat 10, go to form editing mode (Tools > Forms > Edit) , and then select: Tasks > Other Tasks > Edit Fields > Set Field Calculation Order

MS Project 2007 - Help with custom field calculation for grouped by dates view

I am trying to creat a view that counts number of students in courses (while # Students is a custom field that is filled manually and courses are tasks).
The view should be grouped by Quarters, Months, and weeks (Calculated custom Text fields)
The weeks groups are displayed by the start day of each week.
For example:
The view counts how many students are in courses in a specific week/month/quarter.
This is the group by definition:
Those are the fields calculations:
“WW_Start” field calculation:
(Year([Start]) & " W " & Format([Start],"WW") & " " & "   [" & Datevalue(ProjDateSub([Start],CStr(Weekday([Start])-1),"Standard")) & "]")
“MM” field calculation:
Year([Start]) & " M " & Format([Start],"MM")
Basically it works but it doesn't cover a situation where a course is more then a week.
Lets say that the duration of the task is 12 days, the task should appear on 3 different weeks groups.
But what i did puts the tasks only in the group that shows the first week of the task.
How can i change my calculations or my view so that in the second, and third week of the task it will also show the task and it's attributes.
For example:
- "UV5 ACM" task should also be in W 45 not just W 44.
Anyone has an idea how to do that?

First, thanks for the comment "nice neat groups" :)
I think you understood correctly what is my issue.
Second, about your question: the class have the same number of students during the course period.
It will have 10 students even if the duration is 1 day or 10 days.
if you look at the basic gantt chart you will see a row like this:
Task name        Duration        Num_Students     Resource names (Instructors)
Course YYY       10d                10
Instructor X
it is an attribute on the task, not the assiment.
When i group by dates (Weeks, months, quarters) or by another field (can be course type for example) i the students are summed in the task summary level for all tasks.
Lets say i group by all the tasks (Classes) that are in the 1st quarter, and lets say for the example that there are 3:
Task 1 --> 5 students
Task 2 --> 10 students
Task 3 --> 7 students
Then, the group by summary should count:
Quarter 1 - 2014:   22 (students)
Task 1 --> 5
Task 2 --> 10
Task 3 --> 7
By the way, it doesn't matter if the version is project 2007,2010, 2013, the logic is the same.

How do I add a set value to a form field calculation?

I'm creating a form where I need a set value added to the sum of other editable fields - e.g. Field A + Field B +$125 = Sum
For the addition of Field A and B I've been using the pre-set functions in Adobe X, but I'm clueless as to how to add the $125 to the sum calculation. I'm absolutely new to Java, so I'd need something I can cut and paste.

Problem with non currency field calculations to become curr

Hi guys,
Is there a problem if I have a QUAN field and DEC field forming to become a CURR field? I mean a have this computation below:
v_var1 = v_var2 * v_var3.
where v_var1 type QUAN, v_var2 type DEC and v_var3 type CURR...
would it incur any problem with the calculations?

Worked for me flawlessly
tables bseg.
parameters : qty like bseg-menge,
amt like bseg-dmbtr.
data : result like bseg-dmbtr.
result = qty * amt.
write result.
The only issue is that the result will be rounded upto 2 decimals.
But if you declare result as
data : result(13) type p decimals 3.
Then there will be no issues.

PDF form field calculation help needed

I need to make some simple calculations on a pdf form and need some help.
I have a form field for number of guests.
A field for a set cost for various tickets (there are 3 levels of ticket prices) (I might not need this field).
A subtotal of the guests attending and ticket price.
A grand total of the subtotals.
I can't figure out how to either put in a fixed cost in a form field or input a calculation so that the number of tickets is muliplied by a fixed number and gives me a subtotal.

Ok. I finally got the calculations to work. But..... when I save and open in Reader, they don't work. Go back to Pro, they don't work there now either. They also don't show up under the Set Field Order Calculations. To reset them, i have to erase the calculations, save, redo the calculations. Preview the form and everything works — calculations happen and i get a total.
Adobe Reader usage rights are enabled.
Why is this so hard?
I found this thread http://forums.adobe.com/message/1152890#1152890 about it. Is this bug still going on since 2009?
Ok. Apparently you have to enable reader rights after the form is done. It seems to work now. What a pain.

Query field calculation based on a characteristic field

Hi
I have a req wherein the query has a field "Balance". Now here the value of the Balance field is calculated based on another characteristic "0bal_flag". 0bal_flag has values "X" or blank. The 0bal_flag is actually a attr of 0gl_account and i have it as a nav attr in my cube.
The calculation goes like this....
If 0bal_flag = 'X' then "Balance" = balance (there is a balance field in underlying infoprovider)
else "Balance" = Debit -credit (these fields are also there in underlying infoprovider....)
So how do i achieve this...?
Since 0bal_flag is a char I cannot use it directly in a formula....

Hi Gaurav,
Create a replacement path formula variable on the 0bal_flag with evaluate as boolean checked, you will get the values 1 when flag is X and 0 when the flag is initial, now you can use this 'formula variable' in the formula
((0bal_flag==1)balance)+((0bal_flag==0)(debit-credit))

Delay in field calculation appearing

Hi all
Apologies but my coding skills are a bit dated.
I have three fields A,B and C
User puts a number into A and B calculates the value of this multipled by a number using a bit of Javascript
var field2 = this.getField("CPDNo").value;
event.value = field2 * 25;
Now C does some checks on the value of B to determine whether to use a minimum value or a maximum value here
var field1 = this.getField("cpdval").value;
if (field1<"100"){event.value = "100";
} else if (field1>"7500"){event.value = "7500";
} else event.value = field1;
What I find is B is always correctly calculated but C will wait until I click into another field before performing its calculation...
What am I doing wrong here??

If the contents of the field mscval is a number you should not be comparing it to string value.
Are you getting any errors in Acrobat's JavaScript console?
Are you sure your comparisons are in the correct order for what you are trying to accomplish?
I would have coded this as follows:

Matrial document - scrapping- Amount field calculation

Hi,
Can any body explain how the amount in material document is arrived (consider both case - moving average price , standard price)
The scenario is,
Goods issued for scrapping - movent type 551 - T code MB1A
How the amount in local cuurency (table MSEG , field -DMBTR ) is calculated by the system . Consider both cases - moving average price & standard price)
Is it possible to find what unit price or from where it has taken unit price for calculating the amount

Thanks for your kind help.
We developed one report for scrapping (movement type 551). In that, we have taken the following
Price : from material master - V or S
Qty   : from material document
Amount : price * qty
there is a small difference between the amount what we have calculated as mentioned above and the amount in local currency in MSEG table field DMBTR of material document
Example :
In report :   price = 77.8 , qty = 2 ,           amount = price * amt = 155.6
But in table MSEG (material segment )    amount = 155.61
There is a differece of 0.01.
Likewise, we have differece for many material . The differce amount is in decimal points only. Client is asking to match these two amounts .
What may be the reason for this or how to resolve it

Insert a field calculated upon others

I would like to know if I had several numeric fields, if I could display in another one their average (just display it). I mean, if I had...
Option A: 10
Option B: 5
Option C: 7.5
If I could have a field auto-calculating their average dinamically (in this case, 7.5). Is this possible using FormsCentral? This is exactly what I need and I'm afraid this is not possible.

That is correct, you can't add calculated fields on the form itself.
The only thinkg you can do is add the average function to a new column in the Response Table to perform that computation.
The filler won't see the average but people looking at the data will.

Turn Off Form Field Calculations When Printing

I am using Acrobat 9 Pro, and I will be the first to admit, I'm not all that familiar with creating functions or adding codes. Through trial and error, I have created a form that allows my clients to fill out certain form fields, and automatically totals up their entire order. If no values are entered and someone prints the document, the section that calculates the total still prints with a $0.00 value. I do have some clients who prefer to print the form and fill it out manually. My question is, is there a way to disable the form fields, so that when it prints out, the area that would normally calculate the total, would just print blank? And is it possible to add a button or check box within the PDF that would allow the form fields to be toggled on and off?
Or another option, is it possible to have the document NOT print any values that are zero or less?

You can do some of that other sutff, but if you're using one of the built-in calculation methods and just want to have the field not show a zero result, you can add the following custom validate JavaScript:

Hi all. I've tried Googling this but I'm not getting hits. I'm looking for a DoF calculator with Hyperfocal distance for my BBerry Pearl. They make'em for Windows Mobile devices and Palm OS. Currency field calculation problem.

Dear friends,
I am trying to calculate one variable that is multiplyied
by other.
One is 97.087 that is multiply by dmbtr field.
Dmbtr field is currency with 2 decimal places.
Now when i am trying to multiply 97.087 to dmbtr field.
System is showing me the error.
and when i am doing by 97 to dmbtr field.
System is showing me no error.

Status Field Calculation

Hi Experts,
I need to report on Revert Back Service Tickets,means that I want to list the Service Tickets which the status are changed from 'Completed,Pending' to 'In Process'.
My logic is
If Service Ticket's status=completed pending and changed to status=In Process, then ticket is revert back
else status=completed pending and changed to status=completed..not revert back.
Could anyone suggest me how to do this?

If you look at the report, the status was changed from Completed, Pending to In Process,means that it was Revert Back.So, I need to do report on the tickets which was Reverted Back.
