Field selection in SAP query

Hello Team,
I have a query on SAP query. I have the field MSEG-KZEAR and RESB_KZEAR. Now the MSEG field is visible in sq01 and is selected as output but the table has no entries for this field. Also the entries are maintained in RESB field. But RESB table is not visible for selection in sq01; however I can see the table in sq02 but unable to select the said field as output.
I want to select the RESB-KZEAR field for output but i am unable to do so in SQ01.

Hi Beryl,
Please move your RESB-KZEAR field into Group fields using drag and drop in SQ02.
and activate your SAP Infoset aafter that you can use infoset in Query.
Then value will be moving from RESB table.

HI,
in query maintenance (sq01) you can change the text of the field at the selection screen (change the selection text in the screen where you choose the selection fields) and the header text in the output list (basiclist maintennace , go to "basic list header", double-click each header field to maintain the text). This change is only for the particular query. No ABAP-er required to do so.

At line-selection in SAP Query ( Infoset ) code

Hi all ,
Here is one for you : can I put somehow the following code in a Sap Query ( at infoset level of course ) :
   at line-selection.
set parameter id 'BUK' field XXX-bukrs.
set parameter id 'BLN' field XXX-belnr.
set parameter id 'GJR' field XXX-gjahr.
call transaction 'FB03' and skip first screen.
(In other words I would like to see the documents behind a line in the list)
Some explains : my query's output would be ABAP list , the bukrs, belnr, gjahr fields are on the lines of my resulting list, and my problem is with those XXX 's - I don't know where are stored the lines of my ABAP list.
I'm pretty new at ABAP so any idea and explains about the generated SAP Query code
is appreciated . I looked at the final code but seemed very complex for my level.
Please guide me in this area ( I know the basic things like writing pretty simple reports )

Issue with dynamic selection in SAP Query

I have a doubt in SAP QUERY
i used that for creating Customer Master Report
2 fields i have added in dynamic selection from knvv table. if i try to excute based on the value in that 2 fields
i'm not getting output records based on that
pls help me with the logic from where i can get the variables for that dynamic fileds.

Actually in my report user will enter program name & variant name, based on this I need to find out the value for that variant & print that report. so for normal selection I can get the detail using FM: "RS_VARIANT_CONTENTS" but for dynamic selection (Free selection), I am not getting the detail using this FM.
So I need any FM or Table Name which gives me the value for dynamic selection based on the report & variant.

How to control field length in SAP query's report output

HI everybody,
I have one scenario in SAP query in which there are two fields in the report output:
Milestone descrition and milestone description Long Text.
In CJ02 (WBS element overview), these two fields are populated with some text.
If description is exactly same as LOng text, long text is NOT getting displayed in output.
If long text is having more characters than description then only long text gets displayed in the output.
Do we need to change infoset or query settings? I haven't handled SAP query programming before.
PLease give some suggestions how to achieve this or I have to write custom report.
Any inputs on this will be highly appreciated.

Add color to an Additional Field inside a SAP Query (Infoset) in ALV

I made an Infoset (transaction SQ02) out of table MARC. I created an Additional Field called "STATUS" which I coded to get a value of 1 or 2 depending on the value of another field in MARC.
How can I make this cell in the resulting Query to appear in different colors depending on the value? I found the command "FORMAT" but that doesn't work on SAP List Viewer (ALV) mode.
This is what I coded in the additional field called STATUS::
clear: STATUS.
if MARC-DISPO = 001.
format intensified color = 6.
move '1' to STATUS.
else.
format intensified color = 7.
move '2' to STATUS.
endif.
The coloring didn't work. What ABAP command should I add to this additional field to make the coloring of the STATUS cell work under ALV mode?

field catalog and layout are saved into database aqrdb
just before displaying the results into ALV table, they are retrieved by function RSAQRT_ALV_DISPLAY which does
concatenate rtmode-act_report sy-langu into l_srtfd_pattern.

so in order to display some cells with a different color, you have to
- add an additional field that will contain the color codes of cells
- set values in this field at record level (field is a table of type LVC_T_SCOL)
but also adapt the layout in order to set the field as containing the colors
- put the name of this field into layout (CTAB_FNAME)
- export layout to corresponding entry of aqrdb
this part I don't see exactly where to put it, I guess there is some place where it is possible to manage the layout - if not then you have to do it "manually" i.e. with a small report

User Field Selections with SAP Asset Report RAGITT_ALV01

We are running RAGITT_ALV01 (Asset History Sheet) report and wish to utilize some user fields (ANLU) in data selection. How might this be done? I find when using "List Assets" under "Settings" tab the asset number , sub asset numbers and associated user fields remain. However when using "Main Numbers Only" or "Group Totals Only" under this same tab, sub asset number and associated fields are not to be found and accumulations already include all assets with a given asset number with no opportunity to apply user field data selection criterion which would eliminate some assets included .

Sorry to have taken so long to reply, and thank you for suggestion. We already have our "Z" copy of this program and have been processing from this for some period of time. The problem occurs when trying to apply user fields (ANLU) to data selection criterion for reporting options "Main Numbers Only" and "Group Totals Only". Asset numbers (main and sub) disappear during R3 data base processing never to be seen intact again. Have traced this through and may have solution for "Main Numbers Only" option. Testing is occurring on this "work around". However the third option "Group Totals Only" solution still evades capture. If you have any more ideas please pass along to me. Sap Query custom field assigned to wrong field group (in extract)

I want to add an extra field to InfoSet /SAPQUERY/MEBANF at EBAN level. I added a field in a normal way:
I fill it with a constant value. I adapted Sap Query:
In result, I got the value in new column but only for certain rows:
The value is there only for EBAN rows which have EBKN entries related.
I checked the program, and my new field is added to field group %fg07 with some other fields from table EBKN (not EBAN):
Fields from field group %fg07 are inserted to extract only in event get EBKN, so if there is no entries in EBKN, my field will not be inserted into extract:
I tried a lot of things (assigning my field to new field group in InfoSource, adding a field on EBKN level). I can say that every extra field created by me was assigned to field group &fg07.
Am I doing something wrong?
The target is to add new field in the document overview panel in ME2xN transaction. I know that there is user-exit EXIT_SAPLMEQUERY_002 where I can specify a Z* query. But this solution requires a copy of InfoSet and query to Z*. Adding a new field to standard Sap query is the fastest way.

Now I tried to append EBAN table with my Z* field. I regenerated InfoSet and query but the result is still wrong:

SAP Query Custom Field with ABAP Code

I have a custom field in my SAP query which has some ABAP code under it. The code finally writes some value to a variable. My question is do i need to explicitly link the variable in the ABAP code to the custom field OR it's done automatically. For some reason i don't see any value for this custom field. Thanks.

My code is working now for these 3 new additional fields. The thing is it works if these fields were selected solo. but if all of these 3 or 2 of it simultaneously, an error occurs.
Error when generating the report (see long text)
Message no. AQ_AD_HOC221
Diagnosis
The report cannot be generated because the internal description is invalid or incomplete, or because the selection screen is too large.
Regenerate the assigned InfoSet, and read the log. If the InfoSet is OK, make sure that at least one field is given as output.
If you used the 'Refresh' icon to start the query, use the 'Output' menu option to execute the query. This gives you a full screen display of the data.
If an output was generated, the query cannot work with actual data in the construction view. In this case, always use the 'Output' function to execute the query.
Procedure
If the selection screen is too large, you need to reduce the number of your selections.
Make sure that the assigned InfoSet is correct. The name of the assigned InfoSet is stored in the menu option 'Extras -> Template Information'.
Output at least one field. Otherwise you will not be able to save or generate reports.
If you do not have this problem, execute the query using the 'Output' function.
Otherwise, there is an error in the InfoSet Query.

If I am correct, in table KDST, you can see the details of Sales BOM with sale order. Since right now, I dont have access to SAP, I am unable to confirm this. You have to consider this table and develop on your own logic with the help of ABAPer.

Can anyone please let me know how we can make a selection field input mandatory in SAP query,If we can?

we can make a selection field input mandatory in SAP query by giving the option *OBLIGATORY * with the SELECT-OPTIONS for the required field.
This addition defines the input field of the parameter on the selection screen as a required field. If no entry is made in this field, the user cannot use the Execute function (F8) to exit the selection screen, they can only use the functions Back, Exit, or Cancel.

I want to generate a data source, extraction data from SAP Query.
Now I want to hide some fields or to mark some fields as relevant for selection.
But after saving my settings are unavaiable...?
