Field with Name of Month

Using Adobe Acrobat
I need a field to display the month written out in full form.
I have selected the date format mmmm and it does not work.
When I try and enter the month name I get an error
Invalid date/time: please ensure that the date/time exits. Field [Month 1] should match format mmmm.
Any ideas?

All of the date time features of Acrobat/Reader are based on the JavaScript date time object and there is no month name feature for JavaScript's date time specification. Acrobat/Reader has an interface that converts the month literal to the zero based number before using the JavaScript date time object features. For missing parameters, JavaScript assumes a zero value for the missing parameter and then tries to guess what one wants and this can result in some very strange results. If the year is omitted the year for the date time object could be from 1900 to the current year.

How can I have two fields with the same name if it makes sense?

Hello, folks :)
I have a pretty hard time figuring out how I can have two text fields with the same binding name.
The whole problem is that when I need two fields with the same binding name they are still differnent coz they have the same name but differnt indices.
I should make a form filled at runtime by merging a pdf form file and an fdf file data file. And I have no choice to do it differently. And my form file needs some data like customerName, companyName twice in one form. But there's only one possible buinding name indexed zero.
How can I create a field with absolutely the same name or is it just impossible due to possible name conflicts? And is there a workaround to this problem? I just need one piece of data repeated in different places.

P.S. if u think that the problem is not clear enough let me know. I'll supply you with more details. But the general process can not be changed.
One pdf should be mergred with an fdf with as the result of their merge a new filled and flattened form. I have no control over fdfs their are generated by Oracle and I can not fill the form using XML files coz this process should be integrated in a working application.

I just thought about a really ugly workaround with a server-side script adding values to fdf files but it's a bit of work and tests and personally i think it's a bad idea :-(

How to allow user to select pdf file on local machine and populate field with file name only

I have a project requirement that I am stumped on. I am admittedly a novice, so forgive questions that may seem obvious.
My requirement is a form running on a client system where the user can click a button and select a PDF file name from a PDF on their local machine and then populate a form field with that file path & filename. The file names vary between all machines, so there is no static list. Note that the PDF is not embedded, nothing is executed, I simply need the file name.
There are several of these on a form (20+), so manual name entry is too error prone. I would like to use a 'browse' type dialog, but can not figure out how to implement it.
I've looked at app.browseForFile, but the users can not install a javascript file in their adobe folder or any other files; the functionality has to be integral with the original PDF.
Functionally, this is no different from the image object file browse, except that I need a PDF instead of an image file, so there doesn't seem like there should be a security issue that is any different from those surrounding the image object.
I've been stumped on this for the entire week, and I have a deadline rapidly approaching, so any examples or suggestions (please remember I'm a novice) would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the reply Paul - do you have any sample code of how to attach the PDF? Or how the user can select a PDF to open? I might be able to attach it, retrieve the file name, and then un-attach it.
Alternatively, do you know how to retrieve the file name from the imagePath object? It will let you select PDF files, but I can't find info on how to retrieve the file name. It should be the way you would retrieve the file name for an image.

Hiding Fields with the same name

I have multiple fields across a form with the same name
TxtName#1
TxtName#2
TxtName#3..... TxtName#24
They are all share the same name because they should all have the same data.
I want to be able to hide some of these fields, based on the number entered in another field TxtQty.
for example if TxtQty=2 then
TxtName#3-TxtName#24 will be hidden and only TxtName#1 and TxtName#2 will be visible.
Can anyone please help?

The easiest way is to rename TxtName #1 and #2 to "TxtName2", and use the following custom Validate script for each:
// Copy this field's value to the TxtName fields

You can then hide all of the TxtName fields with:
getField("TxtName").display = display.hidden;

Predefault "User Name" field with Login Name

Hi,
Predefault in "LS Medical User Verification" BC does not work. I tried to do the following but all did not work:
* Put a predefault value in the "User Name" field, System: Creator
* Create a calc field "SCR Login", calc value: LoginName (). Set predefault of "User Name" field, Field: 'SCR Login"
* Expose "SCR Login" in the applet. Field is blank in UI.
We are using the vanilla "LS Medical User Verification Applet" for user verification and we want to predefault the User Name field with the current user logged in. How can I achieve this?

Hi,
I believe Predefault/Postdefault will only work with NewRecord even and since the User Verification Popup Applet does not go to that event on load that is why it does not work.
Since the client wanted to default the user name with the current user logged in, we just removed the User name field from the popup applet and pass the TheApplication().LoginName() to the Authentication Business Service.

Hiding fields with same name

Hi,
I have a form built in ADOBE LC Designer ES. The form has multiple pages. I have some fields with the same name and distributed across subforms. Is there a way I can hide the fields using the common name or do I have to refernece each and every field to hide it?

Is the condition for hiding the fields the same in every case, i.e. a checkbox being checked? If it is, you could put the same script in each field:

You would still have to either paste the script into each field or make it a function that gets referenced in each field, but at least it would be a copy - paste rather than having to type out the path to each field.

Lsmw error - no fields with the same name

Dear Experts,
I am trying to upload master data through LSMW through Standard Batch/Direct Input but when i am executing the step READ DATA it is throwing me error as
File 'C:\Documents and Settings\Guest\Desktop\DMS.TXT' and source structure 'ZEQUI_STRUTURE' have no fields with the same name.

Please use meaningfull subject titles

Hi Ripel,
When you are assinging a file if it has field names in first row then select "Field names at Start of file", if not names then uncheck the box at "File Structure".
If fields are using, then check the tabulator in file and Uncheck the "Field order matches Source structure Definition."

Populating descriptive field with itresource name?

After my AD account is provisioned i need to update request description with resource name. but when i map the descriptive field it populateds descriptive field with key but not the resource name. How can we populate descriptive field with resource name?

ASAIK, you can not see the resource name in map descriptive field. But you can do a workaround like, create a hidden field(UD_ADCS_RESNAME) in AD Process Form and use pre-populate adapter to populate this field with your resource name.
Now in Map Descriptive Field of AD Provisioning, select the field UD_ADCS_RESNAME under the Process Data. You will be done.

Read a structure with out specifying its field/component names-Dynamically?

My requirements:
I need to write a module pool prog., which updates a Z_material_master_data_table, which tables has 150 fields (i knew its odd having 150 fields in a master table).
On the module pool prog. i need to place the fileds in 2 columns, say left column(for current data) with 150 fields and right column(user input data for updating the Z_material_master_data_table) with 150 fields
When user opens the prog., user will be presented with a initial screen, where in user enters the material number (for which user want a updation ) then, the user will redirected to 2nd screen where in my prog. will default/prepopulate the left side fields with the current(old) data. Now user has to input his/her data (new) for updating any field of the z_master_data_table.
And after finishing the user clicks a push button with title of 'UPDATE'
Now, my prog. has update the entry in the z_material_master_data_table. The 2nd screen looks like below,

As there are 150 fields, i would not like to write validation (cross checking whether user entered the data on each field) on every field of 150 in number.
The 2nd reason, they want the prog. a kind of dynamic in nature, like going further, if the business want to add a new field, say 151_field to the the table, they dont want to change the prog. (just keeping the 151_field should enough) to address this newely added field.
By thinking field symbols approach, i created 2 structures for old data and another for new data. These structurer are replicas of z_material_master_data_table, but 2nd (new) structure field names posses a an extra 4 chararctes like '_UPD', say for example, ZZMAKTX will be the fileld name in structure_1 (old) and its name will be ZZMAKTX_UPD in 2nd structure(new)
Pls. give me some code snippet for (my above requiremnet) reading a structure DYNAMICALLY with out specifying/mentioning the field names for each and every field or give me any better idea to meet my requirement

From my understanding, your requirement was creating the Program to display the 150 fields of the custom Z-Table based on the material number.
Once the user enters the Material number and click enter. It has to navigate to another screen with old data in one column and second column for the new data, Update button for saving the new data to backend Z-Table.
Back end 150 fields will be changed based on the user requirement, So you need to implement it as dynamically.

How to get two fields with same tech name in LIS Extractors?

Hi Experts,
I need "ERDAT" field from two structures (QMSM & QMFE) in 2LIS_18_IOTASK extractor.
In LBWE first I moved ERDAT from QMSM. When I moved ERDAT from QMFE it gives an error:
"Field with same technical name is already available in the Extract Structure".
I don't want to create Append Structure as we need to write User exit.
Can any one tell me how to get this field added in the extractor from QMSM and QMFE?

this is not possible as the all those fields are put in one structure. per definition you can't put the same field name twice in a structure, table in the data dictionary...
hence, you really need to use an append and fill via user exit

These are the following approaches used
1.) Check the SAP BI Content website "http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/3d/5fb13cd0500255e10000000a114084/frameset.htm". From here find your datasource . here u can get a list of fields in the datasource along with your R3 field and infobject.
2.) Go to Transfer rules structure of the cube or DSO, there u wuld be able to see all fields in Datasource structure fields, See the left pane and right pane. there u will se ur R3 fields and Infoobjects of BW along with their mapping.
3.) Follow this process
in R/3 system - use tcode SE11 ->ROOSFIELD -> GIVE Extract Structure & Field Name > Check Records with Version D and A.
NOTE : Make sure the fields of the datasource in R3 are not hidden , otherwise you wont be able to vierw ur data.

Funky sync? many new groups with names from Notes field created

I've got a client using Tiger on a G5 iMac, and syncing both with dot mac to a PowerBook, and using PocketMac to a Blackberry (don't get me started about PocketMac and Blackberries.)
Anyway, I figure a sync caused this: today she opened Address Book and about 50 groups with names taken from her Notes field were there (things like "christmas card"). Some of these groups have cards in them, some don't. We had to restore from a backup. We use Backup, and I hope it's smart enough to take care of the sync stuff in the truth database when the next sync happens. I had Backup do a Restore of the entire ~Library/Application Support/Address Book folder.
Anybody seen this before? I'd like to prevent it happening again. Also if there are other files that Backup needs to be told to Restore in case this comes up again, I'd appreciate knowing about that, too.

I got a paraneters statement where the user is to choose the month of the year,once i have the month, i need to make a query on a database(select field_name) of a field whose name deppend on the month that the user chose before, is it possible?
What I need? I think i can do it using field simbols but I've never worked with field simbols and I have no time to learn it now.
