File 2 File Scenario error

Hi,
In a simple file to file scenario
I wanted to send a text file (notepad) but i wanted to receive it as a xml file---is it    possible ?
I got the following status information in sxmb_moni. I want to what is the error? anybody pls help me out in this ?
During the application mapping

was thrown: RuntimeException in Message-Mapping

Hi Pankaj,
XI understands ONLY XML. All messages to and from XI are always XML messages.
Now, if the file being placed by your Legacy System is not going to be an XML file, then you can use the content conversion of your sender File adapter to convert this non XML file to an XML file.
Basic point, all messages that reach the inegration engine of XI need to be in XML format and so you need content conversion to conevrt non xml to xml and vice versa.
Please go thru the links provided by Chandra and also the following links for step by step procedure to do the same:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/2c/181077dd7d6b4ea6a8029b20bf7e55/content.htm
/people/venkat.donela/blog/2005/06/08/how-to-send-a-flat-file-with-various-field-lengths-and-variable-substructures-to-xi-30
And in your case once you do the content conversion at the sender side, the rest of the steps are the same as any File to file Scenario... For a sample file to file Scenario go through my reply in thread given,
Re: File To File
I hope I have answered your query.

  • Error in file-file scenario: HTTP response contains status code 503

    Hi folks,
    I've encountered the foll error in file-file scenario:
    Testing file-file scenario (followed the blog: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/xi/flatFILETOFLATFILE&)
    Initially i was hving problems with recvr comm channel, which are now resolved. File is sent successfully but not recvd. I tried to modify the scenario above and change the file type to 'Text' but still got the same error.
    I've checked SICF -->default_host/xi/engine , we dont maintain logon data there. when i test the default_host/xi/engine service, it resolves into an ip addr as follows:
    http://<hostname>.<domain.com>:8001/sap/xi/engine?sap-client=<clientNo>
    (Also, we hv a BW system running on the same server ,which uses a fully qualified domain, while we dont which is why we get the above domain. Im not sure if there are any issues with that.)
    and we get the foll error:
    Error Code 10060: Connection timeout
    If i remove the domain manually, im prompted for userid/pwd and get the foll result:

    Hi ,
    Look in to this for all errors
    /people/krishna.moorthyp/blog/2006/07/23/http-errors-in-xi
    The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server. The implication is that this is a temporary condition which will be alleviated after some delay. If known, the length of the delay MAY be indicated in a Retry-After header. If no Retry-After is given, the client SHOULD handle the response as it would for a 500 response.
    Note: The existence of the 503 status code does not imply that a server must use it when becoming overloaded. Some servers may wish to simply refuse the connection.
    Possible Tips: Because of J2EE application com.sap.aii.af.ms.app not active
    • Try to (re)start the application using the Visual Administrator Choose Server --> Services --> Deploy --> View on Application or restart the J2EE engine
    • The problem is that not all J2EE services can be started by the J2EE. i.e Start the Visual Administrator and select Server->Services->Deploy in the tree on the left. On the right-hand side, choose the Runtime tab page. You see a tree in the right window with all applications if you select the APPLICATION radio button. Check if they are running, otherwise choose Start. Usually the J2EE engine starts all services automatically.

    There are many threads on same issue. Almost in all threads, the suggestion given was, we need to check the Channel Definition(Port should be SAP<SYSID> and not SAP<SYSID>_<CLIENT>)
    I have given the proper values for RFC desitnation and port. Even then, I m getting this error.
    Is there any other suggestions?

  • IDOC-BPM-FILE scenario ERRORS

    Hi gurus,
    I am trying to send IORDER01(pm order) from an R/3 system to a file, which works fine.
    but when i try to use some business logic like if order type = 'PM01' then only i have to write to the file, using ccBPM, it fails...
    this is my first BPM scenario and am having trouble....have read lot of blogs etc...can u please tell me where i am going wrong...
    I have a data type DT_FILE for writing to the file.
    I have interfaces:
    si_oa_iorder(outbound asynchronous interface for file)
    si_aa_iorder(abstract asynchronous interface for idoc)
    si_aa_file( abstract asynchronous interface for file)
    si_ia_file (inbound asynchronous interface for file)
    I have message mapping MM_IORDER2FILE mapping IDoc to flat file structure
    I have operation mapping OM_IORDER2FILE where I have mapped si_aa_iorder and si_aa_file
    (( Is this right? are both abstract interfaces to be mapped? or do i need to create more mappings like si_oa_iorder to si_aa_iorder etc? please clarify...))
    My IP is very simple with just a 'recv step' having container element of  type si_aa_iorder and 'send step' having container element of  type si_aa_file to start with..i haven't yet put the switch control etc...even such simple IP fails....
    I have created Configuration objects like
    Business System for file receiver
    Business component for Idoc sender with adapter specific details set
    Communication channels for Idoc and file adapters
    No sender agreement as it is Idoc communication
    Receiver agreement between the Integration Process(IP_IORDER2FILE) and the file server
    2 Receiver determinations between BC_idoc_send to IP and other from IP to FileRecv system
    2 interface determinations , one from si_oa_iorder of  BC_idoc_send  to IP and other from si_aa_file  of IP to file recv system.
    This is my setup and this fails....
    My question is..is my message mapping and operation mappings correct? and can u see any obvious blunders i am doing?
    please bear in mind that with same interfaces and sending and recv components, it runs fine without BPM....so please look at the BPM bit of mappings/config that i might have missed and please advice asap..
    Thanks in advance and i am sure there would be lot of gurus for whome it is just a peanut...so please reply...
    Regards

    Hello,
    I am trying to implement one pi scenario :
    File -> file adapter -> ccBPM -> soap receiver adapter -> web service request -> web service response -> ccBPM -> output file adapter.
    The web service that I call works file from wsnavigator. I have created all the design and configuration objects
    needed for the scenario.
    I place a file with following contents:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

  • Getting `No such file or directory` error while trying to open bdb database

    I have four multi-threaded processes (2 writer and 2 reader processes), which make use of Berkeley DB transactional data store. I have multiple environments and the associated database files and log files are located in separate directories (please refer to the DB_CONFIG below). When all these four processes start to perform open and close of databases in the environments very quickly, one of the reader process is throwing a No such file or directory error even though the file actually exists.
    I am making use of Berkeley DB 4.7.25 for testing out these applications.
    The four application names are as follows:
    Writer 1
    Writer 2
    Reader 1
    Reader 2
    The application description is as follows:
    &lsquo;*Writer 1*&rsquo; owns 8 environments and each environment having 123 Berkeley databases created using HASH access method. At any point of time, &lsquo;*Writer 1*&rsquo; will be acting on 24 database files across 8 environments (3 database files per environment) for carrying out write operation. Where as reader process will be accessing all 123 database files / per environment (Total = 123 * 8 environments = 984 database files) for read activities. Similar configuration for Writer 2 as well &ndash; 8 separate environments and so on.
    Writer 1, Reader 1 and Reader 2 processes share the environments created by Writer 1
    Writer 2 and Reader 2 processes share the environments created by Writer 2
    My DB_CONFIG file is configured as follows
    set_cachesize 0 104857600 1   # 100 MB
    set_lg_bsize 2097152                # 2 MB
    set_data_dir ../../vol1/data/
    set_lg_dir ../../vol31/logs/SUBID/
    set_lk_max_locks 1500
    set_lk_max_lockers 1500
    set_lk_max_objects 1500
    set_flags db_auto_commit
    set_tx_max 200
    mutex_set_increment 7500
    Has anyone come across this problem before or is it something to do with the configuration?

    Hi Michael,
    I should have included about how we are making use of DB_TRUNCATE flag in my previous reply itself. Sorry for that.
    From writers, DB truncation happens periodically. During truncate (DB handle is not associated with any environment handle i.e. stand-alone DB
    ) following parameters are passed to db-&gt;open function call:
    DB-&gt;open(DB *db,
    DB_TXN *txnid,          =&gt; NULL
    const char *file,          =&gt; file name (absolute DB file path)
    const char *database,  =&gt; NULL
    DBTYPE type, =&gt; DB_HASH
    u_int32_t flags, =&gt; DB_READ_UNCOMMITTED | DB_TRUNCATE | DB_CREATE | DB_THREAD
    int mode); =&gt; 0
    Also, DB_DUP flag is set.
    As you have rightly pointed out, `No such file or directory` is occuring during truncation.
    While a database is being truncated it will not be found by others trying to open it. We simulated this by stopping the writer process (responsible for truncation) and by opening & closing the databases repeatedly via readers. The reader process did not crash. When readers and writers were run simultaneously, we got `No such file or directory` error.Is there any solution to tackle this problem (because in our case writers and readers are run independently. So readers won't come to know about truncation from writers)?
    Also, we are facing one more issue related to DB_TRUNCATE. Consider the following scenario:
    <ul><li>Reader process holds reference of database (X) handle in environment 'Y' at time t1
    </li>
    <li>Writer process opens the database (X) in DB_TRUNCATE mode at time t2 (where t2 &gt; t1)</li>
    <li>After truncation, writer process closes the database and joins the environment 'Y'</li>
    <li>After this any writes to database X is not visible to the reader process</li>
    <li>Once reader process closes the database X and re-joins the environment, all the records inserted from writer process are visible</li>
    </ul>
    Is it the right behavior? If yes, how to make any writes visible to a reader process without closing and re-opening the database in the above-mentioned scenario?
    Also, when [db_set_errfile|http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/api_c/db_set_errfile.html] was set, we did not get any additional information in the error file.
    Thanks,
    Magesh

  • File not found error in SFTP channel

    Hi All,
    We are getting a "file not found error " while using a SFTP sender channel .
    Our Scenario :
    We are using SFTP as the source adapter .Presently we are using  two nodes for load balancing for all the sender channels.
    One of the node's of the  SFTP channel is picking the file , while the other node at the same time is throwing a "File not found error".
    The file is being picked and is placed at the target, but the channels are in error state as one of the nodes is in error state.
    Please let me know, if we did any mistake while configuring the adapter.
    Thanks,
    Yamunan

    Hi,
    Could you please check if you have provided right path in your sender communication channel...to pick the file from...

  • File Adapter gets error while deleting the file

    Hi,
    We are running on PI 7.0 SP6. I built a simple integration scenario where a file is picked up from a certain directory on the server (PI server itself) and get processed according to some mapping rules and again put to an other directory. I used the file adapter for picking and putting the file with 2 different communication channels.
    My integration works fine. File is picked up processed and put into its new location.
    But the file adapter cannot work in archiving or deletion mode. So the file (to be picked up by PI) remains in its original location.
    I am getting the following error:

    Hi,
    These are a few things you can do:
    Check the permissions of the folder where the file is being Placed. (it will mostly have only read permission, this is what i could understand from your explanation)
    If you are doing Content conversion, please can you just remove it and see if the XML file is getting generated.
    Also, please check if it's picked up by any other application when you place it on the server.

    How to resolve this issue? I appreciate your help.
    Thank you,
    Balaji

    Balaji,
    I would suggest to remove FileItem and LineItem in your receiver datatype. They are increasing the hierarchy of your content conversion. If you do that then you will have
    <ns1:MT_Info_File xmlns:ns1="urn:http://freemanco.com/xi/info_list">
    <TYPE>
    <FileName>DD11022007</FileName>
    </TYPE>
    <DATA><LineEntry>234567891234567890123456789012345678901234567890</LineEntry>
    <LineEntry>95473523647586969587265245437586979798376524253586</LineEntry>
    <DATA>
    </ns1:MT_Info_File>
    Then in content converstion give this parameters:
    Record structure :  TYPE,FileName,DATA,LineEntry
    TYPE.fieldfixedlengths   : 0
    FileName.fieldfixedlenghts:0
    DATA.fieldfixedlenghts:0
    LineEntry.fieldfixedlengths:301
    LineEntry.endSeparator:'nl'
    Then it should work. Also you can use FileName in your variable substituition. Also please see this weblog on how to use FileName in variable substitution:
    /people/sravya.talanki2/blog/2005/08/11/solution-to-the-problem-encountered-using-variable-substitution-with-xi-sp12
    If you dont want to remove FileItem and LineItem then add these also in your content conversion. Then the parameters would be:
    Recordset:  TYPE,FileItem,FileName,DATA,LineItem,LineEntry
    TYPE.fieldfixedlengths   : 0
    FileItem.fieldfixedlengths:0
    FileName.fieldfixedlenghts:0
    DATA.fieldfixedlenghts:0
    LineItem.fieldfixedlengths : 0
    LineEntry.fieldfixedlengths:301
    LineEntry.endSeparator:'nl'

  • ** File Content Conversion Error in Receiver CC - How to solve this?

    Hi friends,
    My target structure looks like below.
    EmployeeJobDetails                                        --> Message Type
       JobCode                                                      --> Node
            EmployeeNumber            xsd:string
            Domain                           xsd:string
       JobTrack                                                     --> Node
             Department                    xsd: string
             Position                         xsd: string
    I use the FCC parameters in the receiver CC as below:
    Recordset Structure:    JobCode,JobTrack
    JobCode.fieldSeparator = |
    JobCode.endSeparator = 'nl'
    JobTrack.fieldSeparator = |
    JobTrack.endSepartor = 'nl'.
    Because, we want the output like below
    1099|Raja
    Accts|JuniorAccountant
    1100|Ram
    HR|Recruiter
    like this.
    In this scenario Source is XML and target is txt file.
    I am using XSLT Mapping. The FCC works fine, if my source input file contains some records. But, when we send empty source XML file as below
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <EMPLOYEE_DATA/>
    Mapping works fine. Message is processed successfully in SXMB_MONI. The payload in response also comes with Message Type name like below
    <EmployeeJobDetails    namespace >
    </EmployeeJobDetails>
    While convert this, the system throws below error.
    Error Message:
    Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Exception in XML Parser (format problem?):'java.lang.Exception: Message processing failed in XML parser: 'Conversion configuration error: Unknown structure '' found in document', probably configuration error in file adapter (XML parser error)': java.lang.Exception: Exception in XML Parser (format problem?):'java.lang.Exception: Message processing failed in XML parser: 'Conversion configuration error: Unknown structure '' found in document', probably configuration error in file adapter (XML parser error)'
    Friend, how to convert this when source XML is empty.
    But, if we remove JobTrack node in target strucutre and remove the JobTrack parameters in CC, then if we send the same empty XML file FCC is working  fine and  we  get the target text file 0 KB. (Amazing !!)
    But, in the first case, how to solve the issue?
    Kind Regards,
    Jegathees P.

    Hi friends,
    If we remove JobTrack node in target strucutre and remove the JobTrack parameters in CC, then if we send the <b>same empty XML file</b> FCC is working fine and<b> we get the target text file 0 KB</b>. (Amazing !!)
    But, if we give parameters like JobCode,JobTrack then send pass the same empty file, we face the problem 'File Content Conversion' Error.

  • FILE - FILE Scenario - output file is not available

    Hi
    I'm doing simple file - file scenario based on the weblog

    Pls help me where to find.. what is the problem
    - Govind J

    Hi Govind,
    These are a few things you can do:
    Check the permissions of the folder where the file is being generated by XI.
    If you are doing Content conversion, please can you just remove it and see if the XML file is getting generated.
    Also, please check if it's picked up by any other application when you place it on the server.
    I am assuming out here that you are speaking abt the file that is give by SAP XI after processing the incomming file.
    Also check default .trc log file in visual admin.it will tell u if there any errors
    and also check the permissions of the files generated by XI

  • File to RFC (Error Mail )

    Hi,
    I have a requirement like legacy system details ( flat file ) send to RFC/Bapi and the status ( Success or Error ) should be updated to the concerned people with the mail. How can we achieve this in XI?
    I have done with the File to RFC scenario...need help on update the status (error/ success) with mail.
    Where should we implement mail adapter settings for this scenario?
    Can anybody share their experiences with me.
    Cheers.,
    Esha

    Hi !
    You can make it as a File - Mail scenario, and call the RFC synchronously using JCO during the graphical mapping (or java mapping) using a user defined function.
    Then, based on the response of the RFC, decide what should be the content of the mail or maybe decide not to send it.
    pros: no use of bpm
    cons: need ad-hoc methods for managing connection parameters of the rfc connection.
    other:
    RFC Scenario using BPM --Starter Kit

  • Problem in File-File Scenario

    Hi All,
    I am doing File->File Scenarios. There is no Recrod set also. I want to rename the file using XI. No mapping required. To rename the File name we can do the coding related to Dynamica configuration in one UDF and will map to the top node of the target. But i don't have the mapping here, So How can i execture this UDF or Do i need to write the Module in File adapter CC.
    I tried with dummy mapping , But I am getting the following error
    </SAP:Category>
    <SAP:Code area="MAPPING">EXCEPTION_DURING_EXECUTE
    </SAP:Code>
    <SAP:P1>com/sap/xi/tf/_MM_Target_File_determined_
    </SAP:P1>
    <SAP:P2>com.sap.aii.utilxi.misc.api.BaseRuntimeException
    </SAP:P2>
    <SAP:P3>Fatal Error: com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.Parser~
    </SAP:P3>
    <SAP:P4/>
    <SAP:AdditionalText/>
    <SAP:ApplicationFaultMessage namespace=""/>
    <SAP:Stack>During the application mapping com/sap/xi/tf/_MM_Target_File_determined_ a com.sap.aii.utilxi.misc.api.BaseRu
    ntimeException was thrown: Fatal Error: com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.Parser~
    </SAP:Stack>
    The mapping part is correct. There is no doubt on that. I don;t know why i am getting this error. Can you please tell me what could be the reason or any solution to resolve my problem.
    Points will be rewarded for helpful answers.
    Thanks in advance,
    Best Regards,
    Vijay

    Bhaskarudu,
    Option 1: If you only want to rename the file then pick the file and rename the file in receiver communicatin channel and write. Check this weblog for some help:
    /people/william.li/blog/2006/09/08/how-to-send-any-data-even-binary-through-xi-without-using-the-integration-repository
    Option 2: If you want to rename the file dynamically then you should do the mapping. Check this weblog for this:
    /people/sravya.talanki2/blog/2005/08/16/configuring-generic-sender-file-cc-adapter
    Option 3: If you are picking the file within your organisation which is shared on NFS then you use OS commands in the file adapterd to rename the file.

  • Simplified Chinese format problem in File-File Scenario.

    Hi,
    I have configured File(FTP) - > File(FTP) Scenario.
    I am expecting a Chinese File from Source system which is AS400. I am using the file encoding format UTF-8 while the chinese characters are in GB2312 format. My sender file adapter picks up the file correctly, but SXMB_MONI gives Mapping related Parser error. Kindly Suggest.
    Do i need to change some character set or code page? if yes, where should it be done?
    Thanks Charu.

    Hi,
    Under File Encoding, specify a code page.
    The default setting is to use the system code page that is specific to the configuration of the installed operating system. The file content is converted to the UTF-8 code page before it is sent.
    Permitted values for the code page are the existing charsets of the Java runtime. According to the SUN specification for the Java runtime, at least the following standard character sets must be supported:
    US-ASCII
    Seven-bit ASCII, also known as ISO646-US, or Basic Latin block of the Unicode character set
    ISO-8859-1
    ISO character set for Western European languages (Latin Alphabet No. 1), also known as ISO-LATIN-1
    UTF-8
    8-Bit Unicode Character Format
    UTF-16BE
    16-bit Unicode character format, big-endian byte order
    UTF-16LE
    16-bit Unicode character format, little-endian byte order
    UTF-16
    16-bit Unicode character format, byte order
    Check which other character sets are supported in the documentation for your Java runtime implementation.
    XML text documents generally contain their own code page description and should be treated as binary data type.
    If it is not there the you need write the Adapter module for sender side .
    Or you can use the XSLT mapping using CDATA.

    NO_MAPPINGPROGRAM_FOUND
    1) Open Interface Determination in ID and check if correct source and target interfaces are entered there.
    2) Also check the name of the Interface/ Operation Mapping whic is included in the Interface Determination
    3) Make some dummy change to this Interface Determination and again activate
    4) Check the ache Status in ID --> Environment --> cache Status Overview
    5) In SXI_CACHE check if the Interface mapping and Interface Determination are present
    6) If needed perform a cache refresh

  • FTP: File receiver cc error...Looks pretty simple...Can U solve this

    Hello all,
       I have a simple scenario of sending the file from shared directory to FTP. When I execute the sceanrio..sender is picking up the file ..No issues in SXMB_MONI...but when I checked in the message monitoring...at adapter level for file receiver which is using FTP..This is what its throwing...
       Delivery of the message to the application using connection AFW failed, due to: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 550 '/': File exists.
    Looks like some thing to do with the directory path...and also FTP is built on UNIX environment...
      I tried all the possibilities for target directory.....
    1) /
      Delivery of the message to the application using connection AFW failed, due to: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 550 '/': File exists.
    2) \
    Connect to FTP server "ftp.abc.com", directory "\"
    Error Attempt to process file failed with com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 257 "/\" is the current directory.
    Error Exception caught by adapter framework: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 257 "/\" is the current directory.
    Error Delivery of the message to the application using connection AFW failed, due to: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 257 "/\" is the current directory..
      AND when I check the FTP server its creating the directory with "\"
    3) ./
    Success Connect to FTP server "ftp.abc.com", directory "./"
    Error Attempt to process file failed with com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 550 './': File exists
    Error Exception caught by adapter framework: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 550 './': File exists
    4) .\
      Success Connect to FTP server "ftp.abc.com", directory ".\"
    Attempt to process file failed with com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 257 "/.\" is the current directory.
    Error Exception caught by adapter framework: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 257 "/.\" is the current directory.
    Error Delivery of the message to the application using connection AFW failed, due to: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 257 "/.\" is the current directory..
      EVEN HERE it created the ".\" folder on FTP site.
    5) Finally tried "."
    Success Connect to FTP server "ftp.abc.com", directory "."
    Error Attempt to process file failed with com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 550 '.': File exists
    Error Exception caught by adapter framework: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 550 '.': File exists
    Error Delivery of the message to the application using connection AFW failed, due to: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 550 '.': File exists.
    Error The message status set to NDLV.
       I AM pretty sure that it works with out mentiong any directory path as some of the unix system allow that...But in XI target directory is mandatory field....
    DID ANYONE FACED THIS KINDAA ISSUE BEFORE..ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED AND
    OBVIOUSLY POINTS WILL AWARDED....
    Regards,
    Raju

    Raju,
    ftp -s:
    <shared>\abc.txt >
    <shared>\ftpresult\ftpresult.txt
    MOVE
    <yoursource directory>\*.txt
    <shared>\archive  ( to archive the file)
    and in abc.txt:
    open <ftp>
    <user>
    <password>
    put
    <source directory of your file>\*.txt
    quit
    you can even check your ftpresult.txt file to see whether it executed perfectly or not....and finally use that batch file in the receiver communication channel with full path..
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Ravi
