File assignment

Hello everybody,
yesterday evening I installed the latest programs of the CC, these are the version with 2014 in their name. Today I noticed that I have now more than one CC Version installed. The old CC Programs and the new ones (2014). I thought it would be a great idea if I deinstall the old version. After this the program linkage is not more working. If I want to open a psd file it is opening in Photoshop Vers 5.5 (which is still installed on my PC). It is not possible to change the assignment to the new version of Photoshop. Not even I tried with "Open with" or "Choose default program"  etc.
So, what can I do?

Frika if you are unable to adjust the file association then I would recommend removing and reinstalling the CC 2014 version.  You can find details regarding the uninstall and install process at Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html.
Are you able to adjust file associations to other applications?  Can you make jpegs open in Windows Picture Viewer for example?

  • How to read a string from file & assign the val to a variable in batch file

    Hi,
    How to read a string from a file and assign the value to a variable then return the value to the screen in windows batch file?
    Any suggestions?
    thanks.

    Unless this is a homework question then I don't see the purpose of doing this, but....
    You should be looking a the supplied package utl_file to get the string out of the file, dbms_output to display the string and then google windows batch/command files calling sqlplus to execute your program.

  • How do I get my compressed files assigned to a specific folder?

    OK.. I have a finshed and chaptered FCP video in a chosen sequence.  So I open up compressor to encode the video to make a DVD for IDVDSP.
    I chose my setting A OK. Here is where I get lost at times. I already have a named folder on a chosen hard drive.That is where I want the project and encoded video to go so I can find and bring it into IDVDSP. I thought I do this through the destination tab. Click the plus sign, chose local, choose the HD,choose the folder.
    I missing a step or two some where.
    Any help out there?
    Thanks
    Gary

    In the Batch window, right-click on the destination and choose "Other" then navigate to the folder you wanted.
    BTW, are you using iDVD or DVD Studio Pro?  In your post you kept referring to "IDVDSP" ... but there is no such application.  If you're using iDVD to author & burn, do NOT use Compressor.  If you're using DVD-SP, using Compressor is the right choice.

  • Declaring callbacks via config file: assigning method from a string

    Hello together,
    For a game project I am using Apache Commons Digester for creating object trees from an XML config (done by XML to object mapping just like in Castor or Betwixt).
    For the configugration of the keyboard, I would like to declare callback methods that the keyboard class shall invoke on a given object, e.g.:
    <keyboard>
    <event key="F11" method="Engine.getDisplay.toggleFullscreen()" />
    </keyboard>
    The main problem I see to interprete the thing in the method attrib? What is the best method to create this binding in my source? Are there any utils you know or do I have to parse the string myself in order to realise such a callback? I.e. how to get an instance of java.lang.reflect.Method from such a string?
    Thank you for any proposals!
    Greetings, Timo

    I know you can loop through the methods of the given class and look for one with the right signature.

  • Reading special characters from a flat file and inserting into DB

    I'm reading data with special characters like . etc from a flat file , assigning the data to variable in my anonymous block and inserting into my DB. But the show up as inverted ? s. Any clues about how to do this?
    If i try to do the insert directly it works. It seems like the error occurs when reading this data into a variable
    thanks for the help
    Lalit Bhatia

    lalit, this is probably an character set problem, the default on Database creation tends to be 7bit Ascii which does not support special characters, it's been a while since I set up a db in this way, but you need to change settings in oracle.ini. The db will need to be restarted for this. Also, to check current settings try:
    select * from NLS_DATABASE_PARAMETERS
    You want an 8bit, unicode or multibyte character set. Sorry I cannot remember moer off the top of my head, try searching on NLS or character set

  • Flat file extraction with FILE

    Hi BWers,
    I want to extract a flat file to BW with an infopackage.
    This flat file is located in a physical path changing according to the system :
    - in the developpment server, path is :
    ...\dev\file.csv
    - in the quality server, path is :
    ...\qual\file.csv
    - in the production server, path is :
    ...\prod\file.csv
    In the Name of the File into the infopackage extraction tab, i have to put the physical path or the logical file or routine.
    I don't want to put directly the physical path, because i would have to change this path in qual and prod servers.
    I don't want too to use a routine.
    So I created a logical file with FILE T-code. But in physical path i put :
    ...\dev\<FILENAME>
    How to put a directory variable like that : $(director)<filename> which says : if we are in Dev, so $directory =
    ...\dev\file, else qual...
    Thanks for help.
    Cheers,

    Hi,
    Here is the answer i found:
    Use in  FILE\Assignment of Physical Paths to Logical Path the variable like that:
    <V=Z_INT_SRV>
    Declare this variables in Definition of Variables.
    Z_INT_SRV

  • Accessing Unix folder while selecting source file in Import Manager,GUI

    Hi,
    I am using MDM 5.5 sp04.I am trying to use MDIS to automat the importing process.
    Challenge is to use a map in port which will be used by MDIS.
    Our MDM server system is in Unix. How I can select input file residing in unix folders( say ready folder of Material) from IM tool drop down so as to save that map and assign that map in Port.
    Is a file can be used from window folder in IM ,save the map and assign it in Inbound port ?
    Is there will be an conflict in this case since MDIS will be receiving the file from Ready folder(in unix) but the map of the inbound port will be having the source in different folder in window?
    Appreciate your help/suggestion
    Reo

    Hello:
    you shouldn't need to do that under MDIS. The thing is, use the Import Manager on windows to create the mapping file (importing a file also in windows)
    When you created the mapping file, assign it to a port. Ports include a specific folder where you need to put the new file to be imported. Please refer to port documentation to find out where this folder is.
    The map only has the "mapping structure", and the file will be taken from the port specification
    Greetings
    Alejandro

  • Keynote won't save file

    Everything has been working great with Keynote until last night when the program would not allow me to save my file.
    It actually shows up in the finder when I save as a new name, however it won't open and says the file is corrupt.
    Powerbook G4 15 Titanium DVI   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    Were those red-green backgrounds a result of the crash? (Sorry very rude of me teacher, lol)
    My immediate suggestion, especially if you are on a deadline is to carve the file up into a few new files. Make new blank files, assign your 'custom' theme and then drag in 1/3 of the slides from the original file. If presenting one file can link to the next with a hyperlink. If generating a DVD just make a few chapters from your few files. That's if this is an overload on system resources or Keynote's internal memory buffering from number of images. 125 slides is not a big deal, and neither is 350MB of media.
    There's a ten myths of Mac problems list somewhere and repairing permissions is on it.
    If trying to isolate a problem image there's an old process where you halve your test items (I used to do this with fonts but in your case it's slides or images) test both halves. Find the problem half that causes the crash and then halve it again. Repeat until you get to the problem file(s).
    Good luck for Monday.

  • Windows 7 won't allow file association with CC apps.  Why?

    The title says it all.  Any app I installed that replaced a prior version won't link.  I go in manually and attempt to create a file type association and Windows simply ignores the request.  There are no error messages.  I hestitate to dive into regedit with really knowing what I am doing but I did look and see that Photoshop is showing 2 versions (12 with a path to CS5 and 70 with a path to CC).  Indesign has no folders and apaprently no value set and the same is true of LR.  Acrobat on the other hand, works fine.  All programs function correctly as long as I open the program first and then open the file.
    I realize thids is a relatively minor thing but I teach these programs and have to download the files from a university website shell.  Having to manually do this with 30 files/assignment is a royal pain.
    Thanks for any suggestions,
    Steve

    Hi Steve1904,
    So you have use the backup and Restore to restore your files from Windows XP to Windows 7 directly?
    This should be considered not work.
    If you would like to transfer files between Windows XP and Windows 7, you need another tool called Windows Easy Transfer.
    See the article below if you would like to upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7:
    Upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7
    If possible, follow the steps there, then things should be OK.

    Hi,
    In your case, to write any data to a file, you need to define/use a schema when you are using a file adapter.

  • Sliding Window Table Partitioning Problems with RANGE RIGHT, SPLIT, MERGE using Multiple File Groups

    There is misleading information in two system views (sys.data_spaces & sys.destination_data_spaces) about the physical location of data after a partitioning MERGE and before an INDEX REBUILD operation on a partitioned table. In SQL Server 2012 SP1 CU6,
    the script below (SQLCMD mode, set DataDrive  & LogDrive variables  for the runtime environment) will create a test database with file groups and files to support a partitioned table. The partition function and scheme spread the test data across
    4 files groups, an empty partition, file group and file are maintained at the start and end of the range. A problem occurs after the SWITCH and MERGE RANGE operations, the views sys.data_spaces & sys.destination_data_spaces show the logical, not the physical,
    location of data.

    --Msg 622, Level 16, State 3, Line 2
    --The filegroup "TestTable_fg2" has no files assigned to it. Tables, indexes, text columns, ntext columns, and image columns cannot be populated on this filegroup until a file is added.
    --The statement has been terminated.
    If you run ALTER INDEX REBUILD before trying to remove files from File Group 3, it works. Rerun the database setup script then the code below.
    -- RANGE RIGHT
    -- Rerun PartitionLabSetup_RangeRight.sql before the code below
    USE workspace;

    USE master;
    ALTER DATABASE workspace
    REMOVE FILE TestTable_f3;
    -- Works as expected!!
    The file in File Group 2 appears to contain data but it can be dropped. Although the system views are reporting the data in File Group 2, it still physically resides in File Group 3 and isn’t moved until the index is rebuilt. The RANGE RIGHT function means
    the left file group (File Group 2) is retained when splitting ranges.
    RANGE LEFT would have retained the data in File Group 3 where it already resided, no INDEX REBUILD is necessary to effectively complete the MERGE operation. The script below implements the same partitioning strategy (data distribution between partitions)
    on the test table but uses different boundary definitions and RANGE LEFT.

    The table below shows the results of the ‘Confirm Table Partitioning’ query, before and after the MERGE.
    The data in the File and File Group to be dropped (File Group 2) has already been switched out; File Group 3 contains the data so no index rebuild is needed to move data and complete the MERGE.
    RANGE RIGHT would not be a problem in a ‘Sliding Window’ if the same file group is used for all partitions, when they are created and dropped it introduces a dependency on full index rebuilds. Larger tables are typically partitioned and a full index rebuild
    might be an expensive operation. I’m not sure how a RANGE RIGHT partitioning strategy could be implemented, with an ascending partitioning key, using multiple file groups without having to move data. Using a single file group (multiple files) for all partitions
    within a table would avoid physically moving data between file groups; no index rebuild would be necessary to complete a MERGE and system views would accurately reflect the physical location of data.
    If a RANGE RIGHT partition function is used, the data is physically in the wrong file group after the MERGE assuming a typical ascending partitioning key, and the 'Data Spaces' system views might be misleading. Thanks to Manuj and Chris for a lot of help
    investigating this.
    NOTE 10/03/2014 - The solution
    The solution is so easy it's embarrassing, I was using the wrong boundary points for the MERGE (both RANGE LEFT & RANGE RIGHT) to get rid of historic data.
    -- Wrong Boundary Point Range Right
    --ALTER PARTITION FUNCTION $(TableName)_func()
    --MERGE RANGE (15);
    -- Wrong Boundary Point Range Left
    --ALTER PARTITION FUNCTION $(TableName)_func()
    --MERGE RANGE (14);
    -- Correct Boundary Pounts for MERGE
    ALTER PARTITION FUNCTION $(TableName)_func()
    MERGE RANGE (0); -- or -1 for RANGE LEFT
    The empty, switched out partition (on File Group 2) is then MERGED with the empty partition maintained at the start of the range and no data movement is necessary. I retract the suggestion that a problem exists with RANGE RIGHT Sliding Windows using multiple
    file groups and apologize :-)

    Hi Paul Brewer,
    Thanks for your post and glad to hear that the issue is resolved. It is kind of you post a reply to share your solution. That way, other community members could benefit from your sharing.

  • How to assign static ip address to the server having solaris 10. i.e. nge0

    hi,
    how to assign static ip address to the server having solaris 10. i.e. nge0 i.e. 192.168.3.125 ipshold be persistantt across reboots. what steps do i need to follow to put all information including gateway,netmask etc..Also i want to integrate one init script ..can i integrate it using /etc/init.d/<service name> like linux. and do chkconfig on it?i am not getting complex procedure of SPF and FMRI etc..can u help me?

    Create a file in your /etc directory called hostname.nge0. Add the hostname of your system to this file. In your /etc/hosts file, assign the static IP address you want to the same hostname. You can then disable and enable the network-physical service to configure the network interface:
    svcadm disable network-physical
    svcadm enable network-physical

  • Renaming files in a book

    Hi everyone,
    I need to rename files in a book, but from within the book. A Save as... won't update the cross refrences.
    I see an fcode for this (FCodes.KBD_BOOKRENAMEFILE), but I've been advised not to rely on these types of shortcuts.
    I don't see anything else documented in the Scripting Guide. Does anyone else have any other suggestions?
    Thanks so much!
    Heather A

    Just following up for anybody else who might need this in the future.
    My hangup was that pulling files from the book itself created Doc objects, not File objects (beginners mistake, you hate to see it). Anyway, here are some of the functions that I came up with to handle this task for anybody who needs it. Please be warned, this is quite literally my first ExtendScript project so this may not be the most efficient way to have done this (I'm always open to constructive criticism from those more experienced than myself). I know I went overkill with notes in the code, that was requested by colleagues who know less about code than I do so that if I were no longer employed for some reason another person could come in and understand exactly what the code was doing.
