File Content Conversion--- Removing Quotations from csv file

I have a csv file in the folowing format:
field1,field2,field3,field4
"111","222","333","444"
"aaa","bbb","ccc","ddd"
Suppose the header name is row in IR.
While configuring the sender file adapter in XI, i have given following parameters under file content conversion.
row.fieldNames=field1,field2,field3,field4
row.fieldSeparator=","
row.processFieldNames=fromConfiguration
row.beginSeparator="
After picking up the XML file XI processes the data so that we have out put as
row
field1 111
field2 222
field3 333
field4 444"
row
row
field1 aaa
field2 bbb
field3 ccc
field4 ddd"
row
My Problem is what parameter should I add in ID to remove this last quote say 444" and ddd" from the XML message ????
I tried using
row.endSeparator=" but it is still giving the same output.
Can anyone help ????????????????????????

Hi,
Try this FCC instead
row.fieldNames=field1,field2,field3,field4
row.fieldSeparator=,
row.processFieldNames=fromConfiguration
row.enclosureSign=u201C
row.enclosureSignEsc=u201Cu201C
row.endSeparator='nl'
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_NW04/helpdata/en/e3/94007075cae04f930cc4c034e411e1/frameset.htm
If you specify xml.enclosureSign=u201C and xml.enclosureSignEsc=u201Cu201C, text enclosed in quotation marks is transferred unchanged and the quotation marks are removed.
Thanks

  • Complex file content conversion in case of CSV file

    Hi Friends,
    What you see below is generated from Excel i.e excel file saved as CSV file. This file i need to map in XI.
    Problem is i have to take only the data and not the header part.
    for e.g in this particular line
    Employee ID          :,,E00315
    I need only E0315 and not the header value. Similarly i have to find some solution to map all the required data.
    Please suggest me how to use file content conversion in such scenarios.
    Solution is required on top priority. Points will be immdly rewarded.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,
    In this CSV file, what all i need is the value E00315 after the label Employee ID. I used in FCC the parameters u asked me to do. Also in the Document Offset i gave value 3 so that the first three lines are ignored.
    1,,,Time Sheet,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
    1,,,,,,,,,,,Ref. No: T-PRO-01-011,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

    1,Employee ID          :,E00315
    But still i am getting the error
    Conversion of file content to XML failed at position 0: java.lang.Exception: ERROR converting document line no. 4 according to structure 'tims_header':java.lang.Exception: ERROR in configuration / structure 'tims_header.': More elements in file csv structure than field names specified!
    Please help.

  • File Content Conversion Removes Leading Blank/Space

    I'm having a problem where file content conversion is trimming leading blanks/space/whitespace from fields when reading in the inbound file.  I've seen where people have posted that you need to use fieldContentFormatting to prevent content conversion from stripping the leading/trailing whitespace.  I added that parameter to my list (see below example) but it still appears to be trimming the leading whitespace.  Look forward to hearing your thoughts.  Here are the details:
    I'm using fixed length file content conversion for Sender File Adapter (SP15).  I have the following parameters set:
    Document Name = MaterialData
    Recordset name = item
    Recordset Structure = MaterialLine, 1
    I have:
    MaterialLine.fieldNames = matno_external, mat_description
    MaterialLine.fieldFixedLengths = 40, 40
    MaterialLine.fieldContentFormatting = nothing, nothing
    The following is the input file (notice spaces prior to second occurrence of material numbers)
    ZED00000001                             AIMS LIGHT A
    ZED00000001                            AIMS LIGHT B
    ZED00000002                             AIMS SWITCH A
    ZED00000002                            AIMS SWITCH B
    ZED00000003                             AIMS SEMICONDUCTOR A
    ZED00000003                            AIMS SEMICONDUCTOR B
    The following is the source XML after file content conversion from SXMB_MONI (note spaces no longer exist in matno_external tag).
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    - <ns:MaterialData xmlns:ns="http://xxxxxxx.com/yyy/test">
    - <item>
    - <MaterialLine>
      <matno_external>ZED00000001</matno_external>
      <mat_description>AIMS LIGHT A</mat_description>
      </MaterialLine>
      </item>
    - <item>
    - <MaterialLine>
      <matno_external>ZED00000001</matno_external>
      <create_date>10/09/06</create_date>
      <mat_description>AIMS LIGHT B</mat_description>
      </MaterialLine>
      </item>
    - <item>
    - <MaterialLine>
      <matno_external>ZED00000002</matno_external>
      <mat_description>AIMS SWITCH A</mat_description>
      </MaterialLine>
      </item>
    - <item>
    - <MaterialLine>
      <matno_external>ZED00000002</matno_external>
      <mat_description>AIMS SWITCH B</mat_description>
      </MaterialLine>
      </item>
    - <item>
    - <MaterialLine>
      <matno_external>ZED00000003</matno_external>
      <mat_description>AIMS SEMICONDUCTOR A</mat_description>
      </MaterialLine>
      </item>
    - <item>
    - <MaterialLine>
      <matno_external>ZED00000003</matno_external>
      <mat_description>AIMS SEMICONDUCTOR B</mat_description>
      </MaterialLine>
      </item>
      </ns:MaterialData>

    Thanks all for your attempts but I figured it out and wasn't this the biggest case of irony.
    Here I was trying to prevent leading spaces from being trimmed in the loading of my file and my problem was that when I typed:
    MaterialLine.fieldContentFormatting
    I actually left a "blank" at the end of the "g" in Formatting.  Apparently XI didn't like that and neither gave me a runtime or compile error.  Anyway I found this and though I'd share in case anyone else encounters it.  I removed the blank and all is working now.

  • RCVR File Content Conversion - Remove empty Recordsets

    Hello everyone,
    Here's my scenario: IDOC > XI > TXT (File Content Conversion)
    Here's how my output XML currently looks like:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:D001FILE_MT xmlns:ns0="http://www.pharmaindustries.com">
       <Recordset/>
       <Recordset>
          <MATLCODE>00155581</MATLCODE>
          <MATLNAME>ALCOHOL REFINED 96% V/V (BALAYAN)</MATLNAME>
       </Recordset>
       <Recordset>
          <MATLCODE>00155581</MATLCODE>
          <MATLNAME>ALCOHOL REFINED 96% V/V (BALAYAN)</MATLNAME>
       </Recordset>
       <Recordset/>
       <Recordset>
          <MATLCODE>20388853</MATLCODE>
          <MATLNAME>POLYSORBATE 60 SD (TWEEN 60 SD)</MATLNAME>
       </Recordset>
    </ns0:D001FILE_MT>
    Currently, the conversion settings in the receiver file adapter results into this:
    BLANK
    00155581          ALCOHOL REFINED 96% V/V (BALAYAN)
    00155581          ALCOHOL REFINED 96% V/V (BALAYAN)
    BLANK
    20388853          POLYSORBATE 60 SD (TWEEN 60 SD)
    I want to get remove the BLANK LINES from the text file so that it now resembles this:
    00155581          ALCOHOL REFINED 96% V/V (BALAYAN)
    00155581          ALCOHOL REFINED 96% V/V (BALAYAN)
    20388853          POLYSORBATE 60 SD (TWEEN 60 SD)
    Here are the conmmand parameters already existing in the "Content Conversion Parameters":
    Recordset.fieldNames
    Recordset.fieldFixedLengths
    Recordset.endSeparator
    Would anyone know which command I should add in this section so that empty "Recordsets" are removed from the text file?
    Thanks in advance!
    Glenn

    Hi,
       as per my understanding, u have teo record sets
       i.e Recordset(bold one which has no fileds)
           Recordet(which has two fileds)
          if you use Recordset.field Separator-- 'nl'
          nothing but ignoring the first record set
         for second record set(which is not bold)
        provide FCC parameters which i have provided previously.
        still u r facing problem, try with
          ignore recordset name - true
       Recordset.fieldContentFormatting - ignore
    note: here you have two record set i.e<Recordset>(blod)
             <Recordset>(not bold).
    warm regards
    mahesh.

  • File Content Conversion: Remove reserved characters from Content

    Hi PI Gurus,
    we're facing a little problem with FCC in File Receiver Adapter.  Sometimes the defined fieldSeparator ("|") comes within the field content.
    e.g.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:Positions xmlns:ns0="http://test.com">
    <Position>
    <Value1>001</Value1>
    <Value2>Test|Content</Value2>
    </Position>
    </ns0:Positions>
    So, my first thought was to replace all "|" with a litte java mapping beind the actual mapping.
    But, is there any possibility to achieve this via configuration of FCC (something like fieldSeperatorSubstitution)?
    Help is as always highly appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Matthias Kral

    Hello Hareenkumar,
    yes you're totally right. I ran in several OutOfMemoryError while testing the code above. The errors started with messages over 15 MB.
    Here's the code, that is productive now. It replaces all Pipes "|" by Slashes "|" and really works fine and performant.
    public void execute(InputStream in, OutputStream out)
              throws StreamTransformationException {
              try {
                   int totalCount = 0;
              byte[] buf = new byte[40960];
              int count = 0;
                   while (count >= 0) {
                        count = in.read(buf);
                        totalCount += count;
                        if (count > 0) {
                             for (int i=0; i<count; i++){
                                  if (buf<i>==124){
                                       buf<i> = 47;
                             out.write(buf, 0, count);
              } catch (IOException e) {
                   throw new StreamTransformationException(e.getMessage());
    Thank you all again!!!
    Cheers Matthias

  • Removing Code from CSV

    We have an application with many interactive reports on it. However, we have a new customer that is coming to us saying that they are having issues because when they go to download a set of data from an interactive report, the .CSV document they get back contains code at the bottom. I know that there has always been some html code at the bottom of the first column, but it has never caused problems for me. But for the sake of this new customer, does anyone know if there is a way to remove the code at the bottom of the document?
    Thanks in advance for any help,
    Travis

    This would be the least instrusive hack I can find that may get you around the problem.  In the js fle there is a function...
    function detectFlash(ver) {
    if (getFlashVersion() >= ver) {
      return true;
    } else {
      return false;
    Try changing this function to...
    function detectFlash(ver) {
    if (getFlashVersion() >= ver) {
      return true;
    } else {
      return true;
    This should eliminate making the text appear.  If not, there's another thing you can try.
    A better approach wuld be to use more up to date embedding code, though I cannot say whether the js file is written specifically for this Flash application such that it includes code that talks to the Flash file.

  • CSV File Content Conversion

    Hello, I have a litte problem with the File-Adapter and the File Content Conversion.
    We get csv-files in which are 2 structures
    the first row contents headerinformations like invoicenumber and sumfields.
    The following rows contents item-informations.
    I want to convert the file in a xml-format like this:
    <invoice>
       <invoiceheader>
         .... (information from the first row)
       </invoiceheader>
       <itemlist>
          <item>
              ... (information from 2. row )
          </item>
          <item>
              ... (information from 3. row )
          </item>
          <item>
              ... (information from last row )
          </item>
       </itemlist>
    </invoice>
    The csv-file looks like this:
    In the csv-file i have no keys which determine the kind of row. I only know that the first row contains the headerinformation and the following rows (2. until last) contains the item informations.
    Any idea ?
    Kindly regards

    Hello anybody !
    I want the conversion is done by the file-adapter -
    and i have no keyvalues - that's the problem.
    I only know - the 1. row contains the headerstructure and the following rows contains the itemstructure.
    I configured the Fileadapter with this paramters (for an example)
    xml.recordsetStructure=HeaderSum,1,Item,60000
    xml.recordsetName=AvisRechnung
    xml.recordsetsPerMessage=*
    xml.documentName=Avis
    xml.HeaderSum.fieldSeparator=;
    xml.HeaderSum.structureTitle=head
    xml.HeaderSum.fieldNames=head1,head2,head3,head4,head5,head6,head7,head8
    xml.Item.fieldSeparator=;
    xml.Item.structureTitle=item
    xml.Item.fieldNames=item1,item2,item3,item4,item5,item6,item7,item8,item9

  • Right Justification on Content Conversion

    Hi Guys,
    I've created a receiver communication channel with content conversion to convert from the XML to a flat fixed length file. Unfortunately all the fields written to the file are left justified.
    Eg writing the value "123" to a field that's ten characters long gets
    123.......
    Rather than
    .......123
    All that is in the content conversion section at the moment is the Record Set structure and the field lengths for each of the different record types.
    Any ideas on how to force it to right justify the fields?
    Many thanks,
    John

    Hi John,
    I have done testing on my machine regarding formatting and everything works fine.
    First of all you can use NameA.fieldContentFormatting = nothing in both sender & receiver FCC without any issue. Secondly if I am not guessing wrong then you are looking your Paylod in SXMB_MONI, if yes then you will NEVER see a content with any formatting.
    For example if your content is like ......Sarvesh (6 space in the begining)
    Then it will always look like <NAME>Sarvesh</NAME> and not like this
    <NAME>      Sarvesh</NAME>
    Check your data in either XI server directory using AL11 (if you are saving it there) or check at receiver side.
    I hope this solves your problem as well as doubt.
    Regards,
    Sarvesh

  • Problem in file content conversion from XML to CSV

    Hi Experts,
    I am finding problem in file content conversion. I need to convert the following XML file into CSV file:
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <ns0:MT_CROSS_REF xmlns:ns0="urn:dabur:idoc2file:pos">
          <Update_type>2</Update_type>
          <PLU>00000000</PLU>
          <Cross_ref_PLU>7777777</Cross_ref_PLU>
          <Capture_PLU />
          <Package_size />
          <Package_desc />
      </ns0:MT_CROSS_REF>
    The output file data has to be like:
    2,00000000,7777777,,,,
    The problem I am facing is while specifying the content conversion parameters in communication channel i dont know what recordset structure i should mention as all the records are directly under root. If I mention recordset structure as "ns0:MT_CROSS_REF" and parameters as
    ns0:MT_CROSS_REF.fieldSeparator   ,
    ns0:MT_CROSS_REF.endSeparator    'nl'
    i get error in communication channel monitoring and no file is posted.
    Please help me as to what correct parameter i should mention in my case.
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Yash

    Hi Chirag,
    I cannot change the xml file as it comes after mapping idoc to a message type. How can I add ROOT in the xml? My message type is like MT_CROSS_REF and it has those 6 fields as in the XML (Update_type, PLU etc.). I do the mapping of these fields from a IDOC and get the XML.
    I hope you got my point.
    Thanks,
    Yash

  • Replace String in csv file with file adapter content conversion

    Hello experts,
    I have a sender file channel to receive csv files from an external server. I can process the csv files but I have a little problem. Since the separator in the csv file is a comma and sometimes a comma also appears in the dates but this time it is not a separator.
    Example:
    1234,20120123,ABCD,customer, which has a comma in it's name,...
    5678,20120123,FGHI,customer without comma,...
    My plan is to remove all commas when a blank follows.
    My current content conversion looks like this:
    Record.fieldNames field1,field2,...
    Record.fieldSeparator ,
    Record.endSeparator 'nl'
    Is there something like Record.fieldReplaceString or something similar which I can use? Or is there perhaps a better way to do this?
    I'd appreciate every help I can get here.
    Best regards.
    Oliver.

    Hi Oliver,
    I think I've got a solution for you, after all. All you need to do is have your customer name enclosed in quotes, like that:
    1234,20120123,ABCD,"customer, which has a comma in it's name",...
    Use the rest of FCC configuration as usually. You might also want to have a look at this wiki entry for a configuration example:
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/FileContentConversion
    Moreover, see the description for "NameA.enclosureSign" in the help document below:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/44/6830e67f2a6d12e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm
    Hope this helps,
    Greg

  • Remove of quotes"' in the sender file adapter -- file content conversion

    HI Guys,
    MY source file is comma seprated file (,) in the file i had quotes" " for the data like
    "5000543","0.00","03/04/2009",
    is there any way i can remove the quotes in file content conversion
    Please help me on this
    Regards
    Srinivas

    Srinivas,
    This should not be a big deal, because your fields are separated by a comma. So you need to keep in mind like you are doing the content conversion for a csv file.
    See this blogs for some information:
    /people/venkat.donela/blog/2005/03/02/introduction-to-simplefile-xi-filescenario-and-complete-walk-through-for-starterspart1
    /people/venkat.donela/blog/2005/03/03/introduction-to-simple-file-xi-filescenario-and-complete-walk-through-for-starterspart2
    In the second blog 1345 there are parameters for content conversion. So similarly mention your conversion parameters in your sender communication channel. So after converting to xml your input fields have values like:
    field1:  "5000543"
    field2:  "0.00"
    field3: "03/04/2009"
    So all your field values has with "". Now you can use either standard replace funciton or a udf as given above and then it will remove the quotes and then you can map according to your requirements. If you think sometimes you can get quotes and sometime not in the file then you can use function like startswith or endswith along with exists and can map accordingly.

  • File adapter:  Receiver File Content Conversion problem.. XML to CSV..!!

    Hi,
    I am facing some problem in FCC for Receiver adapter. It has to convert from XML to CSV File.

    Did I miss anything.. any idea whats going wrong?
    Thanks
    Deepthi

    Hi Deepthi,
    Mention the occurrence of header in Recordset
    You specify like this:
    Recordset: Header, *
    Header.fieldSeparator : u2018Field Separatoru2019
    -->For FCC on Receiver side you donu2019t have to mention the field names.
    -->The u2018endSeparatoru2019 parameter needs to given for substructure only

  • File content conversion: String with commas to CSV

    Hi Experts,
    I have the following structure
    DATA (1..n)
    ...Result (1..1)
    The Result field contains a string like below
    a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i,j
    How do I put this into File Content Conversion when I want the receiver to be a CSV file? One cell per letter.
    Thanks in advance.

    Outbound: you could convert your flat file to xml at first. Make the necessary mapping to the destination structur.

  • Key field from content - Sender file adapter content conversion

    I am reading a source CSV file that has this structure. All rows in the source file are the same structure: line items of a PO. But there will be multiple POs in a single file, identified by the PO number as one column in the file.
    PONum,LineItemNum,Qty,Description
    001,1,34,Carrots
    001,2,17,Apples
    001,3,22,Bananas
    002,1,4,Mangos
    002,2,9,Coconuts
    003,1,44,Grapes
    Goal is to generate 3 messages, one for each PO:
    <po>
         <num>001</num>
         <line_items>
              ... 3 line items for PO # 001 ...
         </line_items>
    </po>
    <po>
         <num>002</num>
         <line_items>
              ... 2 line items for PO # 002 ...
         </line_items>
    </po>
    <po>
         <num>003</num>
         <line_items>
              ... 1 line item for PO # 003 ...
         </line_items>
    </po>
    Is there any way to use the Content Conversion Key Field Name to group the line items into the correct 3 messages? "Key Field Name" expects a static identifier for each type of row; but mine varies by the PO number in the content.
    Or do I need to do this in the mapping? If so, what is the easiest way to split 1 large message of all line items into multiple target messages based on the PO number? (I assume this is better than sending individual line item messages and aggregating them later, as long as the file size is OK.)
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Robert,
    If ur goal is to split into 3 messages one for each PO, you can go for message split and using graphical mapping you can achieve that.
    Within the message mapping go to the tab Messages.
    Change the occurrence of the target message to 0..unbounded.
    Also this link may help you.
