File creation from OHS

Hi all,
I'm trying to load data from DSO to OHS using Delta DTP, sometimes Delta brings 0 records. "No more Data available". in this case I want a empty file to be created by OHS. but it is not creating any file as of now.
please do help me on this how the setting can be done.

Hi,
We have few dataservices running in our enviroment. Now we have a requirement to save the data as CSV files on demand. My question, can we do this using ODSI 10gR3?
I know we can read the csv file and create a physical data service. We have a compleded a use case that data comes in CSV file and saved to Oracle table when required.
Now how to do the reverse is my question. I am not findind any help in documents for this. I have opend a case with Oracle support for this, looks like they are not understading and taking it as a issue in ODSI 10gR3.

we have a requirement to save the data as CSV files on demand. My question, can we do this using ODSI 10gR3? Yes. But you have to write the java code to do it. Create a class with a static method that takes two arguments - an array of XmlObject (or of the specific type that extends XmlObject that is created by compiling the schema) and a filename - and writes the values of the children of the array elements into your CSV file.
Put that class in a jar and put the jar in DSP-INF/lib, then create a physical datasource -> Java from that method, make sure you specify that resulting datasource procedure is a libraryProcedure.
So you'll have to do a little homework on ODSI Java Functions with XmlObject arguments.

I amtrying to create a spool request for the PDF file.
Ihave Xstring type data in my program, which is input for PDF file.
by using RSPO_OPEN, RSPO_WRITE,RSPO_CLOSE function modules.. it is creating a spool with RAW data type.
but I have to create SPOOL with PDF format.
Can soemone help to generate PDF file from XML or RAW data format to PDF?

Tamper proof or noneditable PDF file creation from smartforms.

Experts,
We have requirement to create PDF file from smartforms that should be tamper proof.
As we know there any many PDF to word convertors tools are in market.
So PDF file should not be copied and not converted in word (should be tamper proof and non-editable).
So do we have solution with in SAP only to achieve above requirement ?

True PDF is non-editable, but we can copy PDF content or even we can use tool to convert into word/docx format. for basically we are using information.
Orignal source will never change.
Let me explain you example.
Let say i have converted invoice (smartform) into PDF and send to X person.
Now X person can convert PDF into word format.
X person did some changes in word and converted back to PDF (miss use of orignal data/PDF file).
So requirement is that X person should not copy PDF content (Ctrl + C) and X person should be restrcited from converting to word.
Acrobat/Adobe has this feature but this is external (need to use some third pary tool)
Can this requirement accomplished within SAP only or include some Adobe package (class & method in SAP ).

Hi,
Sorry, my mistake, I did not pay attention to the cloning part.
For this error, looks like the database was not cleanly shutdown before copying the files or that preclone was not run successfully. You will have to run preclone again, and shutdown the database normally, then copy the file again.

How can I change the file creation date?

I recently downloaded more than 1,000 photos from my vacation. I'm preparing to burn DVDs for a friend, and I noticed that when I copy the photos to the desktop, they don't all have the same date. I have read a couple of discussions here about the difference between photo creation date and file creation date, and I understand the difference. But something seems odd to me.
For purposes of illustration, let's take two photos: "A" was taken with the camera in the landscape position (how one normally holds a point-and-shoot); "B" was taken with the camera held in the portrait position (rotated 90 degrees). The photos were taken on April 24, about three minutes apart, but not imported into iPhoto until May 19.
In iPhoto, both files show the actual creation date. Yay!
The problem is with the files after having been copied to the desktop.
When copied to the desktop, the info panel for photo "A" shows April 24 for both the "created" and "modified" dates. Photo "B," however, shows May 19 for the "created" and "modified" dates.
Apparently, when the "B-style" photos were imported into iPhoto, the app automatically rotated them so that they are viewed correctly (without having to turn your head sideways). This is a very nice feature, but the result is that the file date changes.
Is there any way to change this? I want the DVD to show the date the photo was created, not imported to iPhoto. Picky, I know … but I'm like that.

Correct. Your camera has an Auto-Rotate feature. However, the camera does not actually rotate any pixels in the file, but instead flags it with an instruction: "Display me this way". This is a tag in the Exif metadata. When you import a file with this tag iPhoto creates a modified version. It does this because most of the apps that integrate with it - email clients, word processors etc - simply don't understand this Exif tag. So if you used the shot in a word processing doc, uploaded it to many Web site etc, the shot would come out sideways.
iPhoto has nothing to say about File dates. There are various file utilities that will edit the dates on Files

Hi guys,
I am cloning and EBS 12.1.3 from one server to another, and when Configuring the target system database server with ''perl adcfgclone.pl dbTier'', I am getting the following error:

MOS is saying that it is due to wrong permissions on the /var/tmp/.oracle directory and we should give it the following permissions:
chmod 777 /var/tmp/.oracle
After giving those permissions and rebooting the server , and running the perl adcfgclone.pl dbTier script, I am still having the same problem:

After successfully configured the DbTier and AppsTier with their respective post clone scripts the appstier was automatically started at the end.
But now, I can't seem to connect with my IE 9 and Firefow browsers.

Get a files creation date with UTL_FILE or DBMS_BACKUP_RESTORE.SEARCHFILES

I have a number of files in the filesystem and i need to find out the names and creation dates of these files. Please do not suggest Java as that is not an option.
So far i get the names of the files from the SYS side with a procedure that I can call from the user side. The procedure returns an XML string:

Something like each_file.creation_date would be perfect but it seems like the filename is the only attribute available here from x$krbmsft. Am i wrong? Any other way on the SYS side to get the date?
Question 2:
On the users side i could use UTL_FILE to get filesize but not much more valuable information. Can i get the creation date somehow with UTL_FILE or similar?
Any help is appreciated!

PDF creation from ID - not outlining fonts correctly

Hi all. I have a query regarding PDF creation from InDesign (so this could have been in the Acrobat section instead but went for this one).
I work for a publisher using CS2+3 on PCs. We don't have one out of house printer as a rule but several. All have different requirements.
Essentially we are converting fonts to curves from within InDesign when creating the PDFs. Therefore we have multiple files (curved and text) which is adding lots of time onto projects and adding a further margin for error with missing or out of date files. It seems this process is necessary as whenever I select the option to outline the fonts when creating the PDFs, the printers usually get in touch asking for the font, even though it has been outlined.
I am hoping to find any simple solution, hopefully avoiding purchasing extra software, that avoids creating duplicate 'curved' files. I realise it's a big topic and not restricted to InDesign but this is the main software we are using so figured this was the place for it. Many thanks.

I'll let others question the necessity of outlining text. It has been discussed many, many times before, and the only valid reasons I found so far are producing files for hopelessly outdated printers (the usual recommendation is "find another one, fast!") and for legacy custom hardware such as cutters and engravers.
But this is really a mystery to me:
It seems this process is necessary as whenever I select the option to outline the fonts when creating the PDFs, the printers usually get in touch asking for the font, even though it has been outlined.
Tr this: outline all text in your ID document. Export as PDF. Check under Document Properties, Fonts. How many fonts do you see? If everything is outlined, there shouldn't be any.
How does the printer know what fonts to ask for, and what is he ever gonna do with these fonts?
