File datastore creation problem from window installed ODI in AIX server

HI all,
My question is how to represent file folder name of that server
my file folder in AIX server and i want to access that file in window s machine.
* is this the right way to represent the data folder in physical schema declaration
file:///<aix server IP>/usr/oracledi/oracldi/data

HI Julien,
It's really working ..........
Thanx a lot
For other people it will be helpfull info
Only change that I have made for that task are
1. I have created an new agent for that AIX machine
2. I have updated the ODIPARAM.bat
3. I have changed record separator as UNIX while creating data store for that file
4. While executing particular interface ,I have used the agent which is local to AIX machine ..................
Steps for execution:
At the time of designing you must have local copy of that file so that you can perform your mapping once it's executing well wid your local or no agent .
then come to the Topology manager change the location for that folder in physical schema declaration of that file server of AIX machine.
Now execute the same wid ur AIX agent u have created earlier..............
while U have changed the data store location from local directory to other AIX directory don't try to reverse the same otherwise u'll get "Execution query failed "or file not found kinda error as because odi system system searching local systems file.................
Julien can u provide me ur mail Id so that I can contact U for further assistance ofcourse
if u want................
regards
palash

HOW TO TRANSFER FILES AND ADDRESS BOOK FROM WINDOWS PC 98 TO IMAC .

For addresses, general answer is to use Export function in your PC program and export in .csv (comma separated value) format. Then open Address Book app on new iMac and choose Import from File menu and locate the file you exported (on USB stick, or by email, for example). Should work! You've heard that before, right?

You are probably installing on a hardened machine.
The "installation guide" says that if you are doing so, you need to create a file named libx11.so.4 and update your LD_LIBRARY_PATH (see http://docs.iplanet.com/docs/manuals/messaging/ims52/ig/unix/overview.htm)but:
1- the library name is libX11.so.4 and
2- for jre a common file is not enough, you need to install SUNWxwplt at least. This will install the library on /usr/openwin/lib.
You can check the results running <server-root>/bin/base/jre/bin/jre
Hope that helps and sorry about my poor english.

  • SMB-problem: can see/manage files, but cannot open from Windows 8.1

I have some files shares on a  Mavericks server (clean install, including OSX Server). I can connect and see the shared files from my Windows clients (both 7 and 8.1). I can even create files, rename them, etc. From Windows 7 i can also open and edit them. So far, so good!
From Windows 8.1 however, opening does not work: simple text-files and pdf's don't open at all (server cannot execute instruction/file already open), office documents can only be opened in read-only mode.
In the System log (on OSX Server) are a lot of lines like: smbd[714]: File system does not support 0x0 time attributes (or does not support 0x400000, file attrs).
Using Windows Power Shell, I figured out that there is a SMB2.1 connection between Windows and OS X, which seems
to be correct. It appears that OS X judges that Windows is using one or more wrong parameters in an SMB-system call.
I had lots of SMB-problems using Mountain Lion (Snow Leopard server was fine). I don't want to force my Windows machine to use SMB1 (for all shares) using the commands found in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2696547 (I didn't try yet).
    Any help would be appreciated.

So I have the exact same issues. I actually called Microsoft Support and they tried a bunch of different things. They even tried disabling SMB 2 and 3 on my Windows 8.1, but then I was unable to connect to my OS X 10.9.1 Server share point at all anymore!
Here is what I found out. When I start up from my 10.6.8 Server backup on my Macmini Server, and then mapped the network drive on letter G on Windows 8.1 Pro client machine to that very same share point -  worked like a charm. I can read , write and such all fines on that share. All is well. Leaving the Windows 8.1 client alone, on the macmini server I selected the upgraded 10.9.1 Server volume and restarted the Macmini Server. After restart, guess what, I was able to perfectly access the files from Windows 8.1 on the OS X share point which of course was still mapped as drive G on 8.1 from earlier.
Now here comes the kicker. I went ahead and restarted Windows 8.1 and then everything went haywire! I opened the Windows 8.1 desktop and brought up My Computer. I saw that the mapped drive G is no longer connected (red X). I went ahead and double clicked it and then Windows Explorer simply hug itself and wouldn't come back. I had to force quit explorer and ended up ultimately restarting Windows. After restart I went ahead and disconnected the mapped network drive (G), and then re-mapped it. I authenticated with the very same username and password as before. This time I am able to see all the files once again, but can't open or work with any of them. It is super jinxed. In my opinion there is a severe bug in Apples SMB 2 or smbx or whatever they call it. Why couldn't thy just leave it alone and pay a licensing fee and use Samba? It's just so stupid!!!!
Apple, you must fix this problem. I will tell the server tech that I have been working with the very same thing. They should have never release 10.9. It was premature and not ready for prime time. It's good to know that there is a work around however. It is super teadious, and spastic, but hey, at least I get it to work. Either it has something to do with authentication, or the way OS X 10.9 responds when mapping a network drive on windows 8.1 pro? No clue.
Apple does not pay me to Q&A their software. This stuff should simply work! I am ****** off and have wasted now over 3 weeks of my precious time banging my head against the wall with Apple stuff.
Come one guys, get your stuff straightened out.  thanks.

  • How can I move files or complete websites from Windows 7 to Nexus 7 for Firefox, without using sync?

I'm writing documentation telling end users how to move large websites (up to 4GB, including PDFs but not sound or video) from Windows 7 to Nexus 7 (Android 4.2.2) to be used offline there -- preferably moving the site by a wired connection, instead of using Firefox sync. I have the latest Adobe plug-in, and the latest Java from Oracle, on the Nexus 7 (it would be nice if it were not necessary to download these after downloading the latest Firefox for the Nexus, but I suspect that's not Mozilla's fault).
So I saved a small test PDF file on the Nexus 7 (to see what download folder it got put into -- it showed up in sdcard/Download/). However, when I move a small PDF (that was NOT created on Nexus 7) from Windows to Nexus 7 (through the USB wire) to the same folder, the file does show up there as expected (as seen by ES File Explorer), but is invisible to Firefox.
Also there are several files left over in that folder from a previous installation of Firefox on the Nexus 7 (I uninstalled and re-installed Firefox, for a blank-slate test). I would also like to make these files visible in the new installation of Firefox, in order to delete them.
How can I instruct the end user to change permissions or whatever on the Nexus 7, or otherwise cause certain PDF or HTML files in the sdcard/Download/ folder to also be visible to Firefox?

The best way to do things is to use sync. If you wish do use other methods it would become complicated.

  • Problems with Windows install and erasing Boot camp partition.

I recently decided I'd try running a copy of XP on my Macbook, the only reason being that the software for my OU work is only available on Windows. I used Boot camp assistant to partition my hard drive which went smoothly. When I tried to install Windows, I get to the Windows install screen, and it says "Press enter to begin installation". Unfortunately, my keyboard doesn't seem to work, so obviously I can't begin the installation. I've tried using my old Apple USD keyboard, but it didn't make any difference. I thought I'd try the whole process from scratch, but found I can't erase the original partition. I've read that you should use Boot camp assistant again, but when I press the continue key, I get the message:
"The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows."
Does anybody know a way of sorting either of these problems out? Much appreciated.

I've been doing a bit more reading into the problem. I think the keyboard problem's because I'm not using the SP2 version on XP. So hopefully once I get a copy, I should be able to sort it. But I still can't seem to use BCA to erase the partition.

  • HT2518 not able to access files on macbook air from windows pc

    Dear All,
I have resorted to all the options. I want to access macfiles from windows PC. I trieds out all the options. I went to system preferences> selected "file sharing">selected the folder>selected the user name and password for windows account.
But when i click the macbook on the network from windows pc, it prompts me to enter user name and password. When i do the needful it says denied access. I tried to access macbook from two different windows PC one running XP and the other windows 7. The funny thing is that this access is sometimes allowed "say 10% of the time" using the user name and password and sometimes its not allowed.
Another interesting thing is that i am able to connect to windows PC from Macbook but not the reverse option. Somebody pl suggest a way out.
    Regards
    KMurthi

i have done all that. Both the systems are in the same "WORKGROUP" folders.
The peculiar thing is smtms i am able to access the contents of shared folder of Mac but most of the time after i enter d username n passwd the screen just gives the message connecting to......Can this be due to communication issues b/w Mac and windows operating systems. Anyways i am facing lot of problems because of this..Interestingly i can access windows folders easily through MACA system by clicking "GO" and then "CONNECT TO SERVER" path....
Pl let me knw if anyone has any clue on how to sort this issue.
    Thanks for the earlier message

  • MacBook Pro 2010 hangs when booting from Windows install disk

    Hi there,
I'm trying to install Windows 7 via Bootcamp. I've used Bootcamp before so familiar I'm with how it should work. I have a USB CD drive, which I've used on other machines OK, and an official Windows Install Disk.
After Bootcamp finishes copying over all it's drivers etc to my external USB drive, it reboots. However, whenever I try to boot from a disk it always just hangs on the Apple logo (no spinning cog/wheel). This happens whenever the Bootcamp installer performs a reboot and/or when I hold down ALT on startup and select the boot CD.
I can still boot in to mac partition. Could this be a problem with the EFI? Any help with identifying this problem or how get the information to fix this problem would be much appreciated
    Thanks.

But when i connect using SQLPlus I encountered an error,.. something like "Invalid Descriptor". Maybe i can post the complete error tommorrow. I would be happy if somebody will share their ideas.
    null

SqlPlus 3.X uses SqlNet Easy Configuration and SqlPlus 8.x uses SqlNet8 Easy Configuration.while configuring SqlNet8 Easy configuration itself you should be able to test the connection. Check the Oracle SID is correct and the Host Name (IP) is correct. It will be simple error. re check TNSNAMES.ORA file. Better to use SqlNet8 Easy Configuration to edit instead of manually editing TNSNAMES.ORA file.
    good luck.

  • Can't see random files on osx partition from Windows

Has anyone noticed that not all files on the osx partition can be viewed by Windows? I.e. in \users\shared I have a directory with about 50 files, some of them don't show up when viewed from Windows on random basis, but if you boot up into OSX they are all there.
This used to work fine with the origonal version of snow leopard. It only started happening after I updated the OS.

    Hi edwelch,
maybe it has its reason in 'reserved character and words' used in the filename of the files you miss.
Some characters/words are allowed in OSX but are not-allowed (reserved) in Windows and vice versa.
    Have a look here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filename

Any free univarsal client utility is available for windows 7 laptop.
    Please guide me..............

Windows 7 should be able to do EAP-fast by default. If not you could download the latest Anyconnect client that also has the Cisco wireless supplicant in it.

  • Remote Desktop disconnected because of security error from Windows 8.1 Surface to Server 2008

    Hello,
    I am trying
to connect to a remote app on a 2008 server from a surface pro 3 with 8.1
through Netilla SSL VPN and I getting the following error message.
    Remote Desktop Disconnected
Because of a security error, the client could not connect to the remote computer Verify that you are logged on to the network and then try connection again
if I am connected to the network and use the RDP file, it connects fine.
    This
was previosluly working, but when I changed the terminal server to per user
license mode from trial mode this happen
This works fine from Windows 7 machines.<o:p></o:p>
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Derek

    Hi Derek,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
From the error itself it seems that there is some network connection issue with VPN. Kindly see that you get network when you are using VPN connection, also VPN must be running. You can also try to “ping” the remote computer and see whether there is successful
    ping result.
Also try to use “Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop” option on server side and check whether you can remote desktop successfully.
Apart this issue can also be caused due to certificate as VPN can’t resolve the certificate properly and facing this issue because you are facing issue only with usage of VPN (as you have commented). Please check
    this link for detail.
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

  • Install ODI on SQL server 2005

    Hi,
I got a problem to install ODI in SQL 2005 Express.
I have notebook to install SQL 2005 Express version.
When I config Master repository, I copy SQL 2000 drivers ("msbase.jar","mssqlserver.jar","msutil.jar")
during configuration, it found following error.
"The incoming tabular data stream (TDS) remote procedure call (RPC) protocol stream is incorrect. Parameter 1 ("")"
Please help to fix the problem. Thanks
    For more information,
    I try to copy SQL 2005 driver "sqljdbc4.jar" and "sqljdbc.jar" on C:\OraHome_1\oracledi\drivers
However, I got no response when I click OK but Test connection is ok.
I try to change the driver to "com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver" instead of "com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver" but still got no response.

    Hi All,
I found that it is required to use SQL 2005 JDBC version 1.2.
2.0 and 1.1 is not working for repository setup.
    thanks all.

  • Download from ArchiveLink and store in AIX server

    Hi,
Is there a way to download file from SAP ArchiveLink and store it in AIX server.
In my case, i would like to download photo for HR module which displayed in PA20/PA30.
Currently i use function module 'ARCHIVOBJECT_GET_CLIENT' with the following parameters
    CALL FUNCTION 'ARCHIVOBJECT_GET_CLIENT'
      EXPORTING
archiv_doc_id = connections-arc_doc-id  "value of doc ID, I know how to get this
archiv_id        = connections-archiv_id     "archiving ID, I also know how to get this
path              = '/usr/sap/FSQ/pic/0012345.jpg'          "I want to store in this AIX folder
        doc_type       = 'JPG'
If I test path = 'C:/photo/0012345.jpg' everything works perferctly, but if I change to '/usr/sap/FSQ/pic/0012345.jpg'  and I check on AIX folder, there is nothing there.
I have given full permission for sapusr ID and ReadWrite permission for this folder.
Is there any other FM for my requirement or any advice?
    Thanks.
    Best regards,
    Bernard

  • Msi media live Aero problem from clean install of Windows 7

I seem to be having a problem with the media live that nobody else is reporting :-S
With an aero desktop theme selected, my screen display gets messed up (everything is warped, with also a diagonal line down the screen and half of it black)
Because Windows 7 installs with an aero theme enabled as default (if it detects the card is aero capable), it took me ages to select a non-aero theme blindly. Since then, I've tried various versions of the nvidia graphics driver with no success, and I'm a bit lost. Beginning to wonder if my media live is faulty.
The only other unusual thing is that the memory I installed (2x1GB Kingston Hyper-X 800mhz), is running at 667mhz rather than 800 - but I figure this probably just means it's a little underpowered?
Other than that, only other hardware I've installed is an Athlon 64 3800+ and a 500gb Western Digital hd.
    Anybody have any ideas?
    Many thanks,
    David Welch

However, I noticed when I lifted out the memory that it's rated at 2.0v, whereas the manual for the media live seems to suggest it's only capable of powering up to 1.8v.. So it's almost certainly underpowered which would account for it running at 667mhz.
What you have there is DDR2-667 memory, which is capable of running at 800mhz. From the datasheet:
    Quote
This module has been tested to run at DDR2 800MHz at low latency timing of 4-4-4-12
at 2.0V. The SPD is programmed to JEDEC standard latency 667Mhz timing of 5-5-5-15 at 1.8V.
BIOS will by default set your RAM to the SPD settings, in your case, 667mhz. You can manually configure your memory to run at 800mhz, but thats not the issue here, your memory should work fine at default SPD settings.
If you're not planning on any overclocking (which is really not a good idea with these barebones), you should just buy some generic DDR2 RAM, thats all I use, and I don't have any problems.

It's strange that I only get the screen corruption when Aero is in use, I'm not sure how I'd get Ubuntu to mimic this.
Ubuntu comes with Compiz Fusion, which is another 'fancy' effects laden desktop interface. But you're only using this to test if you get the same problems here.
    Quote
There's not been any screen corruption with anything else I've used on the PC (which to be fair isn't that much so far though).
Can you clarify further? As you've suggested so far that you've only used Windows 7 on this system.
