I have setup an htm page with a file field. We use asp to
post data. Do I need any additional coding to make the attached
files show up in the email?

Sorry Rob I am not able to upload the .411 file, , yes, I am interested in learning more about a Meta data Plugin. The JPG file on the original disk may contain all the info necessary and accessing the .411 file may not be necessary because when the original jpg file is viewed in windows explorer the file creation date and time is equivaliant to the capture date and time.
I spent most of the afternoon learning more about the Mavica files and have learned ......
The .411 files are image files. With each picture taken, the Mavica stores a 64x48 pixel thumbnail as a .411 file in addition to the timestamp. with each shutter release the Camera writes 2 files to disk : MVC-001F.JPG MVC-001F.411

I'm trying to manipulate David Powers PHP Solutions chapter 6 - Uploading Files.
He's got some sort of complicated function going on which makes sure no two images which are uploaded to a folder have the same name. i.e., london.jpg becomes london_1.jpg. (the php even inserts underscores if there are gaps in the image name)
If I just use $ImageName = $_FILES["ImageName"]["name"]; potentially I could end up with dozens of images with the same name in the database, which is NOT desirable.
Of course I could simplyfy everything and use two forms - 1 for uploading the images to the upload folder and then one for inserting the images details into the database BUT that has the drawback of the client needing to type in the name of the image identically to match the name which has been generated in the upload folder and that aint gonna happen in a million years

Populate a table from a file field

hi guys im having headaches acheiving this, basically what i want is the following
A user can use a file field to browse for a file. Once selected the value will display in the file text field.
Then i want an add button that when clicked will add the file location to a string variable and display it in a table below. every time a new file is added the table should update.
Finally on submit all file names should be submitted so that i can use them on another page using getattribute.
I cant get it to work any help would be appreciated.

stumped as to what to do from there.Whatever it is you have to do, I doubt it has anything to do with Java. I think IE lets you edit a table tag on the fly using Javascript, but otherwise I'm pretty sure you're hosed. Use a text area instead. And go ask at a Javascript forum.

File to IDOC ( need advise on how to map file fields )

I spent quite some time reading all the helpful blogs and threads regarding File to Idoc scenario. However I had a very basic question ( maybe its trivial as I am just new to XI).
In my scenario I have Bank Master data (in a CSV file) and it does not correspond exactly to Bank Master IDOC structure BANK_CREATE01.
I understand that I will need to use File adapter to get this file into XI and then use an IDOC adapter to send it to R/3. (Pl correct me if I am wrong)
Now when I use file adapter, how will I do the data mapping. I mean do I need to create a structure which corresponds to file fields and then XI will automatically load my file fields into this structure and then I can use this structure to map fields to IDOC.
My only issue seems to be how will I see the FLAT FILE data in XML FORM in XI.
To explain it further my CSV file looks like
"GB,123456,11223344,GBP, London,.."
where
GB corresponds to country,
123456 corresponds to Bank key,
112233445566 corresponds to Bank account,
GBP is currency and so on
So should I create a data type maintaining same sequence of fields above without using any hierarchy like in the IDOC.
If this is not possible then will I need to transform my input file exactly into IDOC structure and then use it.
Hope I have manged to explain it.

First of all The CSV file has to be changed in to an XML file , To achieve this File Content Conversion has to be done.Once this is done, please make the following changes in R/3 and PI to push Idoc in to PI.
Configuration required at Xi side:
Go to IDX1: configure the port.
Go to IDX2: load the DOC metadata.
Go to SM59: Create RFC destination which points to R3 system this is require in the case where your IDOC is sent to R 3 system,
Configiration required at R3 side:
Maintain Logical System for PI (SALE transaction):
Maintain Partner Profile for XI system(WE20):

Populating File Field

I do a lot of doc scanning and archiving and always know
where the docs are on the client system so would like to bypass the
BROWSE function by finding a way to pre-populate the File Field and
then do the upload, thereby avoiding a step that many inexperienced
users find difficult. Adobe told me I could do this with AIR and
FLEX. Anyone any ideas how to do this? I have not yet
succeeded.

This should copy the keywords to the description field on selected documents. It will not work on Raw files.
Raw files would need a different script and would have to know what type of raw files (nef,cr2,crw,mos,orf etc)

File Path and Name field does not display correct path

We are using Crystal 2008 along with VS 2005. We embed the special "File Path and Name" field inside our report and it displays the correct path when viewed inside Crystal reports:
C:\Program Files\reports\Chart.rpt
When run through the web and viewed in the DHTML viewer, the file name and path appear as follows:
C:\Windows\TEMP\Chart {02152A43-3339-4C03-A50A-E281E1D391AF}.rpt
How can this be corrected?

This is a known issue tracked under ADAPT0000962216. At this time I do not know when this will be resolved, however Service Pack 2 for CR 2008 is targeted to be released by September and this may contain the fix.

File Name and Path special field

I have a report created in CR 9 with the File Name and Path special field on the report displayed correctly. when i try to run it on CR XI environment i get this:
C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\{4D86438D-54F5-4EEF-A0AB-05D5EB2BFF35}.rpt
How can i correct this?

Our installer names don't make it easy for the new user, or the seasoned veteran for that matter. Although both those installers have 2008 in the name, they are for entirely different products.

Hello,Here's my situation: I'm currently upgrading from Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .NET 2003 to Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2005. I have several reports (programmatically generated using VB.NET) that use the "File Path and Name" special field. Now, in the old version of Crystal Reports (2003), the field properly displayed the original file path and name; however, in the new version (2005), the field displays as "C:\DOCUME1\Username\LOCALS1\Temp\Filename{F2459406-3719-4C8B-917C-4A7055A18C76}.tmp" - in other words, the location of the temporary .rpt file.How do I get the "File Path and Name" field to correctly display the path & name of the original file, like it did in the prior version?- Dave

UDF to read a file name and use some of its contents to map fields in target.

I have a scenario where I need to take the month and year from the file name and map it to suitable fields in the target. Ex - filename_apr2014 from this i should be able to read the month and year and map it. How to do this? I tried the udf -

You mean so the user can't choose the name of the file to open or save? Not much point in even using a JFileChooser, then, is there? Or did I misunderstand the question?

I'm wondering, is there a simple way of not displaying the file name field and file type drop down choice that anyone knows of?
Reason being; my FileChooser is embedded in an application window and does not pop up as a dialog - the users are only acessing one file type, but it could be in any folder on their machine.

Yes - well you have to make the file in a word processing Application.
You could use TextEdit (it's free) Pages (words only), or Numbers (data base) (they are part of iWorks - and may or may not be free (included) on your machine. You could use MS Office (it is not free) You could use any Open source word processor that plays well with Office (NeoOffice, StarOffice) they are free.
That's how you create content and copy/paste URLS. Then you save the file to the desktop. If you are going to make more than one file... you make a folder on the desktop and save, or drag the file(s) into it.
You attach it to your e-mail client which will compress it and e-mail it. An excellent reference is to use Help, from the menu bar, also from inside any application. From your library or book store the OS X for Dummies has a lot of useful information (you don't read it cover to cover but look up chapters about what you'd like to do)
You can also make appointments at your local Apple store for individualized help (if a store is nearby)

How do I grab a value from a file name and load it in a field/column?

I want to pick out the NYC characters from the file name and fill it as value for <wa_raw>-field1 for all records.

how do i extract out HCM?
