File layout issue

Hi PI experts,
I have an IDoc to file scenario, with a nested structure.
Header
HF1
HF2
Item
IF1
IF2
Item1
  IXF1
  IXF2
Trailer
TF1
TF2
In the output file the data should come as
HF1 HF2
IF1 IF2 IXF1 IXF2
TF1 TF2
Item and Item1 should come in the same line.Item will have only 1 occurance and Item1 will have 14 occurances all of which should come continuous and new line should come only after the end of each line(1025), like a continuous paragraph.Wen a new Item record comes it has to begin in a new line.Please give me suggestions on how to do it.
I tried gving new line in Item1.endSeparator, but it was giving new line after each Item1 record, which should not happen.
But, when I dont give new line(nl) in Item1.endSeparator, new Item records are coming in the same line as previous Item1 record, which also should not happen.
Since it is a nested structure, is there any different parameters in FCC?
Thanks so much in advance.
Regards,
Anjana.

Thanks Shiladitya.
Item comes only once for every record whereas Item1 comes 14 times.So like you said I had tried creating a structure like this.
Record
Item
  IF1
  IF2
Item1
  IXF1
  IXF2
and in FCC I gave new line only for Record, and not for Item and Item1.But that did not give new line for a new Record.
Did you mean the same?
Thanks,
Anjana.

  • Layout issue while trying Migrate Oracle Report to XML publisher Reports

    Hi
    I am trying to Convert Seeded Oracle Reports (rdf) to BI Publisher reports, in doing so encounter layout issues. The layout of the RTF , PDF or HTML generated by BI Publisher is different form the text, PDF or HTML outputs generated by the concurrent report. The problem with the BI Publisher template and out put
    Is, the lay out is getting distorted .
    Steps to archive the migration :
    -     download the rdf from the server to local m/c.
    -     execute Forms 9i Util rwconverter to generate a xml
    -     use the oracle.apps.xdo.rdfparser.RTFTemplateGenerator API to generate a RTF template of the report layout
    -     Then use this template to generate a XSL via oracle.apps.xdo.template.RTFProcessor API
    -     The Apply the XSL on the XML data output of the report using oracle.apps.xdo.template.FOProcessor to generate RTF , PDF & HTML files.
    Name of the Report used for migration “FSG - Report Detail Listing” , responsibility GL super User. This was just a random report we picked-up for trial.
    The layout of these files seems to distorted than the layout of the original report output as generated by the rdf report.
    Pls suggest some means to resolve this or any pointers towards what causing this could be of help.
    -     Shudipto

    The process of "converting" an old Oracle Reports rdf into a BIP report is more akin to writing a brand new report in BIP than to what most people would consider a true conversion.
    The conversion routine outlined by Oracle just gives you a starting point for converting RDF layouts into BIP, and nothing more. In regards to the data define it does somewhat better generating your queries and XML layout (but honestly, that is the easy part), but even for the data define it will lose your formula columns as well as report triggers.
    I have used the converter on several dozen rdf files and I have yet to see one that is better than 10-20% ready for use after the conversion process.
    I would strongly suggest that you only convert the reports that you have to convert (for enhancements, modifications, etc). If it ain't broke in old Oracle Reports, dont' try to fix it in BIP.

    Well, you're not using position:absolute, so you've got a big thumbs up from a bunch of us for that.
    Is there any chance you could post a link to this page on your server? It's much easier to troubleshoot from a browser than it is to rebuild the page from code fragments.
    If you haven't gone live with the page yet, create a folder called TEST in your site and save copies of the page and css there. Upload TEST and post a link to it here. Once the problem is found/fixed, delete TEST from the server.
    You can also attempt to use Firefox or Chrome to find your issue by right clicking > Inspect Element. All CSS that affects a given element will be displayed with file name and line numbers there.

  • Windows Update Helps with File Size Issues?

    I'm just wondering if anybody has recently noticed an
    improvement related to the file size issue variously reported
    throughout the forums?
    I ask because our IT folks distributed a Windows update on 2
    days last week and since the application of those updates I have
    not experienced the freakishly large file sizes and the related
    performance issues in Captivate. Unfortunately I don't have any of
    the details of what patch(es) were installed, as it was part of our
    boot script one morning and I didn't even realize it was updating
    until I received the Reboot Now or Later alert.
    Anyway, I was curious because I have experienced significant
    performance improvement since then.

    If you are using a remote workflow ... designers are sending off-site editors InCopy Assignment packages (ICAPs) .... then they need to create assignments in order to package them for the remote InCopy user. So there's no need to split up a layout into smaller files or anything.  An assignment is a subset of the INDD file; multiple assignments -- each encompassing different pages or sections -- are created from the same INDD file.
    When the designer creates the assignment, have them turn off "Include original images in packages"; that should keep the file size down.
    Or -- like Bob said -- you can avoid the whole remote workflow/assignment package rigamarole all together by just keeping the file in a project folder in the Dropbox folder on teh designer's local hard drive, and have them share the project folder with the editors. In that workflow, editors open the INDD file on their local computer and check out stories, just as though they were opening them from a networked file server.
    I cover how the InCopy Dropbox workflow works in a tutorial video (within the Remote Workflows chapter) on Lynda.com here:

  • Flash player Update causing layout issues in Adobe Reader

    I did an updated to adobe flash player to version 15.0.0.239 and now the Adobe Reader XI (11.0.09) Layouts don't work,  only file list mode.
    Is there any way of fixing this? This new layout issue is going to cause issues since the whole appeal of using Acrobat Portfolios is the Presentation Layout views.
    Please help
    thanks!

    I have found sometimes you need to run Adobe's Flash uninstaller, before running the installer.
    Typically the first whole number of a version is usually a major upgrade, versus an update, and hence why the built-in update function fails to see the new version on many software.
    As for "safe", clone backup in case there is a feature you don't like about the new version, so you can always run it like it was before.
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-1992
    You don't know how Adobe might alter the overall PDF frameworks on the computer when the upgrade is completed.  If you don't clone, you may find yourself stuck with whatever changes they make.

    Hi Chanh
    I have not come upto the level of testing the file generated with IRS.  Will keep you posted what happens there.
    Shannon,
    Apparently the new version of 1546868 fixes the issue for box number 7.  But if the amounts are huge in box numbers 1 or 3 or 15a (they use these in my client) then the amount overflows to the nearby box.  So we have again opened an issue again with SAP & will keep you posted withwhat SAP comes up with.
    Thanks

  • Layout issue with af:tree component

    I am using af:tree component but I am finding layout issue with it. I have a requirement where in I need the tree to stretch to the available space but a horizontal and a vertical scrollbar comes up automatically. Is there a way to handle this issue?

    User, without your jdev version it's hard to help.
    Have you embedded the tree component in a stretch layout?

  • Help needed creating export file from a file layout with Application Engine

    The following is what I would like to do:
    - Read a record from a PS view
    - Manipulate the data as needed
    - Write the fields out to a file as defined by a File Layout
    - Repeat until no more records are found
    I have created the PeopleSoft Application Engine action listed below. It receives an error "BCUNIT is not a property of class File".
    Local Record &rec1;
    Local File &myFile;
    Local SQL &sQL1;
    /* Create instance of Record */
    &rec1 = CreateRecord(Record.W9M_MBSCRSE_VW);
    /* Instantiate the Output File */
    &myFile = GetFile("c:\temp\help_me.txt";, "A", %FilePath_Absolute);
    If &myFile.IsOpen Then
    If &myFile.SetFileLayout(FileLayout.TACOURIN) Then
    /* Create SQL object to populate rowset */
    &sQL1 = CreateSQL("%Selectall(:1) Where INSTITUTION = :2", &rec1, W9M_MBSCRSE_AET.INSTITUTION);
    /* Cycle through the records */
    While &sQL1.Fetch(&rec1)
    /* I know this section is not coded correctly but I'm not sure how to fix it */
    &myFile.BCUNIT = "1";
    &myFile.BCTCD = &rec.W9M_MBS_TERM_CODE;
    &myFile.BCTYR = &rec.W9M_MBS_TERM_YEAR;
    &myFile.BCDPTN = &rec.ACAD_GROUP;
    &myFile.BCCOUR = substring(&rec.CATALOG_NBR,2,5);
    &myFile.BCSEC = &rec.CLASS_SECTION;
    &myFile.WriteRecord();
    End-While;
    Else
    /* Process FileLayout Error here */
    End-If;
    Else
    /* Process File Open Error here */
    End-If;
    &myFile.Close();
    There are probably a lot of things wrong with this approach and if you could provide some guidance and/or  corrections to the above logic I would greatly appreciate it.
    Another approach?
    After doing a bunch of reading on Application Engine maybe my approach is incorrect. Perhaps I should be doing something like the following:
    - Read a record from a PS view
    - Populate a temporary table manipulating data as it is inserted (Temp table is named according to the file layout fields?)
    - Fetch the records from the temp table and write the record to the file layout.
    - Repeat until no more records are found
    Is this approach better and designed correctly? If not, could you recommend how it should be done? Would the population and reading of the Temp table be done in separate actions or within the same action? Do you know of an Application Engine program that can be used as an example with "like" processing?
    As you can probably tell I haven't used Application Engine before and my goal is to start out on the right path. Thank you for any direction and input that you can provide.
    Steve

    I did and my initial logic was based upon them. I don't see where it shows how to manipulate the data before writing it to the file layout fields. Maybe you can send me a link to that section?
    I was hoping that I would be able to reference the file layout fields directly to allow for manipulating the field values. Re-reading the file layout section and the application engine PeopleBooks I believe I need to create a temporary record which matches the file layout fields; i.e., the second alternative that I listed. Then, make my updates to the temp record fields as I load them. Then, load them to the file layout as a row.
    I'm not sure how this would break down in Application Engine; would the insert into the temp table and the writerecord be different steps/actions, etc.

  • PS CS3, Camera Raw 4.6 Update and Nikon D810 NEF File Reading Issue

      Currently Have Photoshop CS3 & Adobe Bridge CS3 2.1.1.9.
    According to Adobe, Camera Raw 4.6 supports Nikon D810 NEF files.  I have downloaded Camera Raw 4.6 Update. When
    I try to open Nikon D810 NEF files, I get Photoshop CS3  error that says
    "cannot complete request your because it is not the right kind of
    document. These NEF files wont open in Adobe Bridge at all.  What am I doing wrong?

    Hey,
    Before I purchased, let me get your thoughts on another option that just occurred to me which involves:
    1)Editing my D810 NEF files in LR 5.6, which I have, then exporting/saving the edited files as JPEGs.
    2) Doing any additional editing, as necessary (i.e. that might require layering or selections..etc) , with the JPEGs  with Bridge or PS CS3.
    This method wont involve any additional software purchase now.. right?    Am I missing anything.   here?    Since my final output to my customers are JPEGs any way, wont this work?   Will I be at any disadvantage.   Am I missing anything.   here?

  • Minor Layout Issue when Printing Invoices in Chrome (v20.0.1132.47)

    This is a relatively minor issue in the big scheme of things but a client of ours has reported a layout issue when bulk printing invoices in Chrome. It could be default browser behaviour which BC has no control over but I thought I’d submit it anyway.
    It occurs when you’re viewing the default Order Report (http://www.yourdomain.com/AdminConsole/#!/CRM/OrderList.aspx) in the BC v3 interface and you want to print invoices in bulk (see screenshot below).
    When you print invoices in bulk in Chrome they print on overlapping pages, as opposed to Firefox where each invoice will print on a separate page, which makes management much easier for our client. I’ve tried tinkering with the print settings inside of Chrome but I can seem to change it.
    Does anyone know a way around this or are we dealing with default browser behavior that is out of our hands?
    Cheers,
    Matt

  • PU12 - File Layout

    Hello Experts
    we are trying to use PU12 to send our wagetype amounts to our payroll provider, however we need to send them in a particular order
    Basically depending on the wage type the value will go into a particular position
    say final layout should be like this
    pernr,wage type amount 1001, wage type amount 1002,wage type amount 1003
    for example if we have 3 wage types
    in Infotype 0014
    1001 - amount $100
    1002 - amount $200
    1003 - amount $300
    our final layout should be like this
    11111111,100,200,300
    Is it possible to do it in file layout conversion by looking a lgart?
    Please let me know
    Thank you

    I resolved my own problem with a workaround.  I set it up as a user exit with a constant of 257.  Because it was supposed to be just "filler" blanks, the userexit simply just returned
    return = ' '.

  • PU12 File Layout:  Problem if Constant Length 28

    I am trying to modify an existing PU12 file layout to change a few fields and add some new ones.  I can change and add them as long as I don't put the constant length as > 28.  If I do I get this message:  "The field length for constant field contents can be a maximum of 28."
    The current layout has fields with a constant layout of > 28 though so I can't figure out why it will not allow me to put in a larger #.  As an expample, one of the existing fields has a constant length of 211 -- I need to change it to 257, but if I put anything > 28 I get this same message.
    I'm just starting to learn about the PU12 so any help would be most appreciated.

  • File Layout  add column

    Dear SDN,
    EP6.0 SP11
    I am in the process of KM implementaion and adding one column version to view the file.
    Name   size   rating    annecdote   modified  versioned
    when I look in file context details and able to see the file version. it shows current, 1,...
    now I want to display current value say 2 or 3 in file layout screen. I have added one column using presentaion but value is not appearing.
    Is there any setting is required to get the value?
    Regards,
    Sanjeev

    Hi,
    I gone through your requirement for the report. In the report selection screen -- Settings -- Input "Sort Variant " as 0010  .....(Co. code / asset class / location) this is SAP Standard delivery.
    This adds the column "location" as required. ..... so, there is not requirement here for additional ABAP coding.

  • Labview 2011 file layout in executable

    I am working on upgrading my projects from v8.6 to 2011. one thing i noticed was that the file layout in the built executable has been changed to treat the executable itself as the root directory of the code sources.
    To better address my problem, i would like to present an example as below:
    I have two projects, A and B, where B is built on top of A. Their paths are:
    C:\Workspace\ProjectA\source\Always_Included1.vi ...
    C:\Workspace\ProjectB\source\Always_Included2.vi ...
    in the built executable(ie. Application.exe) i found that all VIs were located under such as:
    Application.exe\Workspace\ProjectA\source\Always_Included1.vi ...
    Application.exe\Workspace\ProjectB\source\Always_Included2.vi ...
    Since the "Workspace" is just a variable name for one of my workspaces, I am wondering if it's possible to make the built executable to start with one level deeper, such as:
    Application.exe\ProjectA\source\Always_Included1.vi ...
    Application.exe\ProjectB\source\Always_Included2.vi...
    *notice that the "Workspace" has been omitted.
    Thank you.

    I don't think there's a way to really control this, as this is something which is done automatically by the application builder.
    A couple of options I can think of:
    Place the top level VI in a level above ProjectA and Project B. This might cause the EXE to consider that as the main folder and start from there.
    Check the 8.x check box in the Advanced page of the build settings. This will cause the build to be flat instead of a hierarchy, but I wouldn't recommend that, as that's basically a flag for backward compatibility.
    The real question is what's your actual problem? Most people don't care about the actual location of the files inside the executable. If you do need access to a specific file, using relative paths is generally enough, as they stay the same inside the EXE. Another option which people use to control this is to direct some VIs to be saved outside the EXE (the build spec allows you to do that), but that's usually for specific use cases, such as calling plugins.
    Try to take over the world!
