File name and Date Display as an obj not the data

All,
The issue that I am having is that when I view a Visio file hosted on SharePoint. The file was created in Visio 2007 and when it is opened by Visio 2007 and Visio Viewer in SharePoint. The file name field object and date
modified object show the information. The issue is when the file is opened by a device that has Visio 2010 the information does not show. Is there something that I can do for these users to have it show correctly.

Hi,
Which way did you open the Visio 2007 file in SharePoint?Opened it in the browser or downloaded it to open? I had test in my environment. Insert a text box>Add a data/time field, it worked fine both in Visio 2007, 2010.
Thus, let‘s do some test to narrow down the issue’s reason.
1.Download the Visio 2007 file and open it with Visio 2010.
If it worked fine, the issue seems more related to Visio object and sharePoint connection.
If it does not display the information in Visio 2010 by a device client, the issue was more related to Visio 2010 client.
2.Create a new drawing included file name and Date
field in Visio 2010.
If the new drawing displays correct, the issue is more related the original, please try to repair the file or re-create the file name and Date filed.
If the new drawing still displays incorrect, please try to start Visio 2010 in safemode, some third-party add-ins my be casued the issue.
If the issue still exists, try to repair Visio 2010.

I scanned an old photo but the date displayed is today, I want the date to be the date the photo was taken.  How do I change the date of the photo in iPhoto 11?

There are two kinds of metadata involved when you consider jpeg or other image file.
One is the file data. This is what the Finder shows. This tells you nothing about the contents of the file, just the File itself.
The problem with File metadata is that it can easily change as the file is moved from place to place or exported, e-mailed, uploaded etc.
Photographs have also got both Exif and IPTC metadata. The date and time that your camera snapped the Photograph is recorded in the Exif metadata. Regardless if what the file date says, this is the actual time recorded by the camera.
Photo applications like iPhoto, Aperture, Lightroom, Picasa, Photoshop etc get their date and time from the Exif metadata.
When you export from iPhoto to the Finder new file is created containing your Photo (and its Exif). The File date is - quite accurately - reported as the date of Export.
However, the Photo Date doesn't change.
The problem is that the Finder doesn't work with Exif.
So, your photo has the correct date, and so does the file, but they are different things. To sort on the Photo date you'll need to use a photo app.

  • In iMovie when I try to share a project to a file on an external hard drive it will work the first time but subsequently it says it is sharing but gives no time and file name and in fact just sits there not sharing the file.

I have iMovie 10.0.4.  I want to transfer some old DV tape videos to MPEG 4 files to be stored on a 4 TB external drive. I successfully imported the video to iMovie, created a project by moving all captured files into a project and the first time I shared the project to a file  it worked as expected.  Every subsequent try to transfer another video would fail to transfer.  When I clicked save it gives the warning that it is too big for iCloud, iso I click create on this computer.  The progress circle comes up with no indication of progress.  The show activity drop down just says sharing to "file" no file name as in the first one and indicates no time remaining.  In fact it just sits there apparently doing nothing.  I'v tried it a half dozen times, deleted everything and started over.  It transfers the first project to file and then nothing on additional tries.  What do I have wrong, am I missing something?

  • Printing my PDF with File name and Tags Stamped on

    To Forum,
Possibly not a completely Apple related query, but if anyone know it would be great.
id like to print a PDF on my MBP with the File name and Tags applied to it stamped on the paper copy... or come to think of it, stamped on the PDF copy which i then print out with those stamps on. Either way will do. Any ideas? Its not immediately obvious when i look at the Printing Prefs box.

This is an option built into various apps - Safari, Firefox, Microsoft Office.
There are "PDF Utils" that do this on PDFs one at a time. Can't find a specific one for Macs, but found 2 for Windows.

  • Pdf portfolio source file name and date in file details

Is it possible to import the source file name and extension as well as the source file created date in the portfolio file details?  Need to document source to portfolio in working with 3rd parties that will only have the original source.  Need to document what was converted into pdf as not all files in a directory will successfully convert to pdf.  Sometimes need to convert 100's of files.  Manual entry is inefficient.  the file names and modified dates are displayed on the Combine Files dialog.  is there a way to capture the detail on that page?

I don't need the detail of when the pdf was added to the portfolio.  I
need know which dwg or jpg or word file was converted and the original
created date of that file for control of information.
That is impossible; sorry. For some *very specific* types of conversion to PDF the pdfx:SourceModified XMP tag will be set to show the last-modification date of the source file (for example DOCX files converted using MS Word), but there will never be a human-readable record of the source filename or its creation date unless you have manually added them as document XMP properties after conversion (this is what the "Custom Properties" dialog is for). To embed source data automatically would raise no end of privacy and security problems for customers, who most certainly do NOT want their recipients seeing details of internal documents.
Without writing a plugin there's no access to the internal workflow of the Combine Files dialog, so you cannot use a script to read the names and dates of the files *before* conversion and store them automatically in the new PDF Portfolio's Fields array.

  • I can not transfer date from one hard drive to another, I keep getting an error because I have two of the same file names and one file name is in caps and I cant change the file name

can not transfer date from one hard drive to another, I keep getting an error because I have two of the same file names and one file name is in caps and I cant change the file name. My original external has an error and needs to be reformatted but I dont want to lose this informations its my entire Itunes library.

Sounds like the source drive is formatted as case sensitive and the destination drive is not. The preferred format for OS X is case insensitive unless there is a compelling reason to go case sensitive.
Why can't you change the filename? Is it because the source drive is having problems?  If so is this happening with only one or two or a few files? If so the best thing would be to copy those over individually and then rename them on the destination drive.
If it is more then you can do manually and you can't change the name on the source you will have to reformat the destination as case sensitive.
Btw this group is for discussion of the Support Communities itself, you;d do better posting to Lion group. I'll see if a host will move it.

  • Copy File name and Date only from a Folder with SSIS

    Hello all,
I need to create a package which will list the file names and the dates in a folder, these files are blank flat files. After extracting the file names from the file path i need to create a table which will have two columns Filename and
Date.We get about 1000 such files every month and we are looking to maintain them in a table.
Is this possible? Can someone point me in the right direction?
    FM

Arthur , I actually figured it out. The For each container let me pass thru the file name, then I inserted the file name into my staging table. I created a FilePath variable and basically Did a sql task and
    INSERT INTO MyTable
    SELECT Filename = ?,
    LoadDate = GetDate()
In my for each loop I added a *.*txt qualifier... I`ve tested and works well... Got what I needed.

  • Printing FILE NAME and DATE PRINTED?

when i was on a mac i used to be able to have a default in the printer dialog so that every page printed showed the file name and the data printed. i would like to do this in the mac but i am guessing that this has to be done in either the specialized software dialog box or perhaps in a mac dialog box?
in any event, can anyone help me figure out where i might find a place to do this? i haveadobe acrobat but i wold also like to do it in something like Preview as well.
    TIA

if i have documents coming that i print for a project and these are quite naturally coming from different software it i have no way now of being able to FIND this file in my computer when i am looking at it.
Consider using Find from the File menu or Spotlight to search for the document. In one of your previous posts, you stated that you name documents with a date and name. Then perhaps search for the name. Also, with your method of naming documents, if the document is a letter, wouldn't the date on the letter and the person to whom the letter is addressed to give clues to the filename and thus finding it on your computer?
this is a major organizational issue over here and customizing a template for all my various software should be unnecessary IMHO.
I do not know how many documents you deal with but I do know that there a many organizations that deal with billions of documents. In addition, if you share documents with others or others with you, there is not a filenaming method that works for everyone. People adapt to each other. A date in a filename could have several forms such as month-date-year or year-month-date, two digits or four digits for year and so on and so forth.
Are you saying it IS necessary to have this dual file type that has a Pages document which then prints a PDF?
No. Please re-read  what I wrote and the Pages Help Center articles.
also, is there in fact a way to save a PDF back out as a Pages document?
Yes, re-read what I wrote (that which you quoted).
"Acrobat has the capability to save a PDF in other formats such as Microsoft Word, which can be opened in Pages. That said IMO, a separate Pages document for each "custom" letter/report would not be necessary."
alternatively i guess i could create a Pages TEMPLATE - that has a DATE in the header that automatically updates .../but/ i am realizing that this has the unfortunate consequence of having the DATE updated if i open the Pages document again
But that is what you stated you wanted because
...and try to remember to SAVE AS this document with another name with the original FILE NAME but a NEW DATE. this does not always work and sometimes i write over the original accidentally.
anyway, maybe the answer here is to create a Template for any new document type and simply use this template any time i need to create a PDF and then not save or delete the original Pages document but this seems a bit hairy and dangerous in terms of possibly losing a file if i forget to print to PDF or something.
    You have redundant backups, yes?
It seems that your understanding of a template is different from what it actually is, its purpose and its use. If you have not already done so, try using one of the included Pages templates to create a document that you would reuse to get a better understanding of how it works and to help determine your workflow. What you wrote in the last post seems to be a lot of what ifs but not hands on experience with the software itself. My response was based on my experience of using many types of software and in particular to your questions, Pages and Acrobat. Perhaps you will find better responses in the Pages forum and for Acrobat there is a forum at the Adobe web site.
is there a lock file functionality in Pages in Mountain Lion or was this in Lion?!
Perhaps reviewing the tutorials for Pages or searching with Google would  help answer many of your questions.

I search multiple shares to find a common file name then create a single output file. I will be doing this search and file creation

  • Target Data File Name and Path

    Hi,
I'm trying to deploy a mapping that writes data into a file, but I need to dynamically set the name and the directory where I want to write this file. The only workaround I found was manually change the pl/sql generated code and change the values in the FOPEN call with a parameter, but this is no what I really want to do. Does anyone know how to tell WB not to hardcode the file name and path?
    I really appreciate you time,
    thanks in advance,
    Matias

    Carla,
Unfortunately our releases do not go that fast...
What you could do as an intermediate solution (this is what I would do) is create your mapping and load into a staging table (this can happen in set-based mode so would be fast). In a post mapping process you manually write to the flat file by making the calls to FOPEN etc. by selecting from the staging table. The post mapping process can have an input parameter that you dynamically pass (i.e. via a mapping parameter) and set the file name.
    Mark.

  • IDoc to File with different file name and data based on the IDoc header dat

    Hi,
I got a requirement to implement IDOC to file senario.  In this the Converted file should have the file name and file content based on IDoc Header data.  Means If one of the IDoc header field value is
'A'  - then the file name recieved by reciever system should be 'A.txt' and with the columns A  B  C  D  F.
'B'  - then the file name recieved by reciever system should be 'B.txt' and with the columns C  D  F.
In both the case IDoc message type is same.
Please suggest me what i need to do to achieve this.
    Thanks in Advance. ...
    Regards
    Sri

    Hi,
As per my requirement, we need to create one file for each IDoc based on IDoc header data. SAP program generates 10 IDocs for each run. All 10 IDoc's message type is same.  Each IDoc has one header record with the file name. Base on the  name in the IDoc header record, file needs to be created with different columns and file name. Means..
IDoc 01- Header Description contains 'A' - than file will be generated should have name as 'A.txt' and columns 'parent'  'child' 'descripion'.
IDoc 02- Header Description contains 'B' - than file will be generated should have name as 'B.txt' and columns 'Name' 'Department' 'Description'.
IDoc 10- Header Description contains 'J' - than file will be generated should have name as 'J.txt' and columns 'Order No'  'Materail' 'Description'.
Hope this will give more clarity on my requirement. Please let me if you are still not clear on requirement.
    Thanks for your all help..
    Thanks & Regards

  • Tags, no longer displaying file names and other issues

I upgraded to Mavericks, MacBook Air.
I need help sorting out what is going on with Tags.
I have a screen shot, but uploading it to this post is another problem I have run into with Mavericks.  I click on the camera icon, click on upload file, and then I get a list of greyed out files, and am unable to select any of them.  Very unmac like.
Back to the tag issue.  The tags are listed in the open finder window.  Most of the tags I have created, when selected, will display all the files with that tag, and show the file name or icon.
BUT, one of my tags, which has over a thousand files, will not display the file names.  What is shown are a list of blank icons, and no file names.  The preview for each file still shows as it should when a file is selected, and the file name is listed in the preview.
A picture is worth a thousand words, so I really wish I could have uploaded the screen shot!
In addition, some of the files, e.g. a .pdf file, will show no icon, no file name, no file size, but will open when double clicked and dispaly the file name and a greyed out addition to the file name "-Locked".  Much weirdness.
Tags have not been working well for me.  I have used colours extensively in the past for organization and now it seems to be a huge problem converting to tags.  What a painful transition from Mountain Lion!

With the backup completed, I followed your suggestion:
"Go to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key and choose Library. Then go to Preferences folder and trash these files:
    com.apple.finder.plist
    com.apple.sidebarlists.plist
Then, restart, or log out and in again."
The smart folders disappeared.  The original Tags named by colour are back on the list of Tags, and the problems remain unchanged.
In the Tags I created for my file collection, call it the LotsOfFiles folder, there are no file names listed, none.
However, when I changed the permissions on every file in the LotsOfFiles folder to Staff-Read & Write, then I was able to change, add, and delete Tags from the files.  Also, once the permissions were changed the file names appeared, after five minutes... so I edited this entry when I discovered the change.
The files in LotsOfFiles have been collected since 1995, and have been saved to many computers and many backup systems.  They also have been used, saved, changed etc. in operating systems dating back to OS7, and almost every operating system up to 10.9.  They also are being used on different computers right now, one running OS 10.3.9. one running 10.7, and one running 10.9.  The computers all have different admin logins and info.
But I still can't upload files to this forum!
