File structure for Sets Import - FM_SETS_FIPEX1

Hi Folks,
I've been tasked with migrating Funds Group and Commitment Group records into SAP ECC6.  I've discovered the import option, but cannot get a file loaded, probably because the import file structure is incorrect.  Could someone please provide me with the Import file structure, and even an example of the file layout (i.e. what does 'Type' mean?, when to use id 'H', 'R' or 'X').
Points will be awarded for helpful solution.
Cheers,
Steve

The trick is to set up a test Group set on-line, and use the Export option on the FM_SETS_FIPEX1 transaction (under the 'Extras' Menu), to extract an example of the file.  Then the import file can be created using the same file structure. NB:  The File is positional based, so saving as tab delimited or comma delimited won't work, as the '#' or ',' delimiters in the file will occupy critical positions in the upload file, causing an error during the load.

  • How to create a simple File structure for a large project?

    Hi to all,
I've own and operated my own website design/development (a 1 woman office, plus many sub-contractors) over the period of 8 years. I started hand-coding HTML sites in 1997, before the creation DW (though I think the first ver was for Mac in '97). Over the recent years I've udated my skills to include CSS and enough Java/PHP to customize and/or troubleshoot current projects (learn as I go).
The majority of my clients have been other 1-10 person entrepreneur companies. I've recently won a bid to redesign a government site which consist of 30 departments, including their main site.
The purpose of this thread is to get some ideas on creating a file management/structure. Creating file management setup for smaller companies was a piece of cake, using a simple file mgmt structure within DW. Their current file structure is all over the place. I've read about a very good, simple file struture in a DW CS4 manual and wanted to get feedback on different methods that have worked, and have not worked, or your client:
    Here's my thinking:
    1. within the root dir place home.htm and perhaps a few .htm related only to home
        2. create the following folders off the root, "docs, imgs/global, CSS, FLA, Departments"
                - sub folders within docs for each dept
                - site wide css's placed into CSS
                - site wide FLAs into the FLA
                - sub-folders created within 'imgs' for each dept, including a 'global folder' for sitewide images and menu imgs (if needed)
    - OR -
    1. create same file structure for each dept folder, such as 'imgs/CSS/FLA/Docs'
    Open for suggestions....

It is a problem I have thought over at length and still feel what I use could be better. You are doing it the right way around researching before you start, as moving files once things are underway can course real problems. One issue is the use of similar assets across site(s), and version control if you have multiple versions of the same asset.
Can not say I have built a site(s) of that size but would recommend putting together a flow chart to help visualise the structure and find out better ways organising (works for me). Good luck, post back with your solution.

  • Is *.html a "better" file structure for SEO detection than *.htm?

I like Muse...a lot.  For my skill-set of having to be both the "web designer" and "web developer", Muse works TONS better than DreamWeaver ever did for me.  (Maybe when Muse adds in the feature of being able to design a site that is completely responsive to any type of device, you'll change the product name to "Magic")
That being said, when I took a 3-year-old site that I had set-up on the domain using *.htm file extensions, and transformed it into a Muse site, I saw that Muse only allows HTML files to be saved with the *.html extension.
I have taken the proper steps to redirect all of the previous pages on the web to be the new pages ending in *.html. (I suspect it will take about a month or so for Google and others to "wash-out" the old filename versions and replace it with the new versions in their search libraries.)
My question is to wonder why it is that Adobe has decided to fix the page extension to be *.html?  Is it a better structure for HTML5 and CSS?  Do search engines "like" it better for some reason?
Just asking for education knowledge.  :-)

  • File structure for downloads of music files

I just purchased and downloaded "Enclosure 5" by Harry Partch. This is a 45 track download. Innova has done their best to number the tracks in such away that they stay organized, but Innova failed. I have communicated my dismay to Philip Blackburn at Innova. There are three section to this work, so the resultant AAC files are listed in my library as 1,1,1,2,2,2,3,3,3 and so forth.
In order to get this music to play in the correct order, I need to re-tag all but the first 13 tracks.
But the same material at Amazon has the samestructure in the .mp3 download as it does on the CD's. In fact, the downloads are listed as Disc 1, Disc 2, Disc 3. So, that is three folders each with its own files.
I think that iTunes needs to look at how it does this, in order to make organization in the library better.
    RSM

    Hi camoracer-
Yes to all. If you look at the "songs" structure for this album, Harry Partch "Enclosure 5", you will see that there are just 45 tracks, with no discrimination or tell-tale sign of organization. And, now, having had to re-tag them, I can tell you that as they sit in iTunes, they are nor in any porper order.
But, if you look at the same album in Amazon, you will see it presented as three discs. It will download as three folders, and the tracks will be in the right order in the right folder.
I know that I can re-tag the files, I have needed to do this sometimes even from CD's I rip.
But I know that Philip Blackburn at Innova tried to get them done right, and they are not right. I took this to Apple's feedback.
    Thanks.

  • Script for setting Imported Excel Table Cell Inset

    InDesign CS3 Windows XP
I've checked the FAQ and ran all the searches, but I can't find this. My old computer crashed and took with it a script that I had that would set all the cell insets for the cells of the imported Excel tables in one swelled foop. Can someone point me to the source again? My price sheets are nothing but imported Excel tables and it takes forever to set all the insets for each block separately.
    Thanks,
    JAG

    Phah.
    app.documents.everyItem().stories.everyItem().tables.everyItem().cells.everyItem().propert ies = [topInset:"1cm"]; //??
This one-liner may need some additional work, but when I am done with it, it'll set the insets for all tables in every open document.
Perhaps 'everyItem' also works on disk files ...
[Edit] Just pulling your leg. I'll take a look on the one-liner when I'm back at work.
I've got a class in a couple of weeks on Javascripting ...
I'm jealous. They give classes about this? BTW, JavaScript is not that hard (e.g., not harder than any other reasonably popular programming language), but its interface to InDesign is something else. In this case, the magic word is 'everyItem'. (You'll learn.)

  • Copy file structure for reference

So I have this internal HD that I am replacing with a bigger drive. I plan to put the old drive on the shelf as a backup. I'd like to have a document of all the files on the drive so I don't have to put it back in to see what's on it. I discovered that you can make a list of a folders contents and all sub folders by dragging them into TextWrangler. That's okay, but a little hard to scan visually. Does any one have a better solution? The text file of course is searchable but it would be nice if the snapshot of the drive looked and operated like OSX finder with twirldown folders. I just need the names of the files for reference. I suppose I could make a dummy folder in finder that had alias files of all of them. Anyone have any ideas?

You can't just manually copy files individually from drive to drive. Permissions and metadata can actually get messed up.
    Better to use cloning software*:
    http://www.macmaps.com/backup.html
Unless of course your data is exhibiting signs of corruption. In that case, only copy the data files known to be of good structure to the new drive after erase and installing the operating system on the new drive.

  • File manager for setting up syncs

I have a file manager on an android tablet---foldersync---that allows me to set up synchronization via a cloud service, e.g., SugarSync, on folders used by apps that do not support the service, e.g., that don't support SugarSync.
I see file managers that themselves will synchronize with a particular servces but the ones I've checked out so far---not that many I will admit----don't seem to be able to do what foldersync does.
    Thanks,

FolderSync allows me to use a syncing service of my choice to set up syncing between folders so that any change in any folder is updated to the other. This is true even if changes are made by apps that don't support, i.e., don't provide access to, the syncing service selected.
Dropbox is widely available with most apps. SugarSync less frequently. However, SugarSync supports syncing to folders in the file system. It is not limited to a special folder the way Dropbox is. There is no need to manually sync from the special folder to the file system as there is with Dropbox.
FolderSync allows me to take advantage of this convenience even with apps that provide no access to SugarSync. I'd like to be able to do the same thing on my iPad.
And iTunes is not very convenient at all.

  • Is there a simpler solution/directory/file structure for banner ads?

I also have to wonder what a pain this has to be for a large website with many rotating banner ads - having all of these same files copied over and over in separate subdirectories. Flash had 2 files - a html file and swf file stored in the same directory. Am I missing something?
the banner name - with config.xml - created by Dreamweaver
Assets -  4 or 5 files, not counting json or sound files
    edge_includes  - and its 2 files
images - at least they are unique
And I, maybe wrongly, create a html file in Dreamweaver with the oam file inserted in it.

From the Edge Animate JavaScript 2.0 API Docs:
    CDN Hosting
Using the Adobe Content Distribution Network (CDN) is a great way to speed up Animate composition delivery. Compositions using the Adobe CDN all share a single URL for jQuery and the Edge Runtime. The browser caches the runtime, so the user only downloads the library once no matter how may Animate compositions they view, even if compositions are on different sites and produced by different authors.
Don't use the CDN if your composition needs to run without an Internet connection or if you want to use your own hosting exclusively.
The Edge Runtime CDN uses the following URL:
    <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"    src="http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/edge/animate/2.0.0/edge.2.0.0.min.js"></script>
So now I know what that CDN option is about.

  • What is the file structure for new iMovie for Mac?

Under the previous version of iMovie for Mac, iMovie stored my clips and finished projects in folders that I was able to create on my hard drive.  I have one folder named Events and another folder name Projects.  With the new version of iMovie for Mac (the one that came with OS X Mavericks), I see there now is a file named iMovie Library 2.imovielibrary on my hard drive.  Can someone explain how clips and projects are stored in the new iMovie versus the previous version of iMovie?  Is all my content now stored in the iMovie Library 2.imovielibrary folder?  The "date modified" on my previous Events and Projects folders shows 23 October, so it seems that the new iMovie no longer accesses those folders.  Sound correct?  Can I delete those old folders?  Thank you

    pomme4moi wrote:
Do you know why the file is named iMovie Library 2.imovielibrary?  Does the "2" imply there is another iMovie Library.imovielibrary file somewhere, without the "2"?  Can I rename the package file to iMovie Library.imovielibrary without the "2"?
I wouldn't rename any of the files that iMovie creates in the Finder. You're asking for trouble.
I think the reason for the "2" is that at some point iMovie encountered a folder already with that name.
Did you re-install iMovie version 10 or do anything else that may have been non-standard with your installation?

  • Best file format for iMovie import?

I'm having some old home movie Hi8 tapes digitized by a local video shop and saved to DVD. I intend to import the digitized footage into iMovie to edit and create DVDs.
Any suggestions on what is the best format(s) I should have them convert to?
    THANKS!

From an editing standpoint DV would be preferable.
However MPEG 4 would work. MPEG4 is really a playback codec, not an editing codec, because it is highly compressed. However, iMovie will edit it and if necessary, convert it to an editing codec.
iMovie should be able to import MPEG4. If it is not standard MPEG4, you may need to install Perian from Perian.org. Try it to see if it works, but if it does not, keep Perian in mind.

  • File structure for "Masters"

    Hello,
I recently moved all my photos to "Managed."
I have them organized in Aperture according to date, going back to 2001.
When I "Show Package Contents" and look in the "Masters" folder, it shows four folders: 2011, 2012, 2013, and Capture.
Unless I'm mistaken, all my photos, now that they're "Managed", are in the "Masters" folder somwhere, but where are the years 2001-2010? I would have expected them to be in the "Masters" folder, but they're not.
    Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

The "Masters" folder is organized by date, but not by the "Capture" date, but by the date of the import session. If you import an image that has been taken in 2001 now, it will be filed in the subfolder 2013, not in the 2001 folder.

  • Need for separate BAPI Structure for import parameters

    Hi All,
I have a doubt regarding the logic behind declaring a separate BAPI structure for import paramters and use it.
    Let me explain you clearly,
Whenever we pass an import parameter(like vendor number/sales order number) to an normal function module we declare it using either like/type referring to an existing dictionary structure field. but when the number of import parameters increase we may think of creating a single structure with all and use it for simplicity.
But when it is the case with a BAPI, it is suggested that we create a structure even when we have single import parameter.
    for example.
supposing that we create a normal function module to get the details of a given Vendor, then we declare the import parameter as below
    VENDORNO LIKE LFA1-LIFNR
But <b>if we observe the BAPI_VENDOR_DISPLAY, We find that declaration for the same as
    VENDORNO like BAPIVENDOR_ID-VENDOR_NO,
where BAPIVENDOR_ID is a separate BAPI sturcture created and assocaited only with Business object "Vendor".</b>
I tried it by declaring as for a normal FM, even then it work fine.
    Now my question is,
If SAP Suggests that we have a separate structure for all import parameters starting with name BAPI and use only those fields to reference with,
what is the logic/reason behind asking so.
I had created a BAPI with paramters referring to standard database fields like
VENDORNO like LFA1-LIFNR and it is still working
<b>I had also written interface programs using VB/ .NET to access the data from my own BAPI and standard BAPI's and both were working alike.</b>
so anyone <b>please give me the reason/logic behind declaring a separate BAPI stuture for all the import parameters to be used in a method</b>.
    Thanks in advance,
    Lakshmi

I would say that it really comes down to simplicity.   Think of it this way,  you are not an ABAPer, you must right a VB or a java program to call this BAPI from outside the system, you know nothing about R/3 or its data structures/tables.    Now that said,  think of what it would be like if all of the fields in the BAPI signature were like we find in the standard tables,  LIFNR, etc.  What is LIFNR, right?    Since we are ABAPers we know that it is Vendor, but for others,  they may not know.  This is why you will find the signature of a BAPI very descriptive, notice that all of the fields describe the field in english.  This is good for non-ABAPers.   To organize all of these fields that may be used in the BAPI interface,  it is good to put all of them in one defined structure,   that way they are all in one place, and can be referenced as such.    Again,  BAPIs are designed to be used by ABAPers and non-ABAPers, so simplicity is important.

  • Iphoto file structure

I hate the date file structure for iphoto. If I move to a programme which isn't iphoto, I cannot navigate through the date structure to find certain photos.
Why is it when I name a photo in iphoto, the name does not show in the file structure. Is there any way around this or am I stuck with using iphoto for ever. Could be a probleem if Apple went bust
    TIA Anteric

    Hi anthony,
The iPhoto 6 files organization is now by Years/rolls
iPhoto 6 Library folder in the Finder
As you can see the structure is now related to rolls. Rolls are created for each folder you import and each import session from a camera.
It is very easy to change the names of film rolls within iPhoto to make them easier to find images within. Open the info panel in iPhoto by clicking on the "i" icon. Once it is opened, click on the roll title in the viewing window.
Click on the word "title" in the info pane and type in your new title. I like to use a date and text format such as 12/25/05 Christmas at Mom's, 1/05/06 my birthday, etc. Once the roll names are changed within iPhoto, they are also changed within the Finder, making it easy to locate an image.
When importing from a camera, make sure you name the roll with a date and text before the import.
The title you give a photo in iPhoto stays within iPhoto. the image file name remains the same in the Finder.
If you want to rename images, it should be done before importing into iPhoto.
download using your camera software or Image Capture, rename the photos, then import into iPhoto.
If you need to access photos from an album it is very difficult for a third party application to navigate the iPhoto Library in order to find the photo you need. You will have to know the date of import(iPhoto 5), or roll name (iPhoto 6) in order to find the photo.
There are some third party applications that can read the xml file and can navigate the iPhoto library and show you the Albums. Hopefully more applications will be revised to read this file.
Until then you will have to Share/Export the photos to the desktop. You can then navigate to the desktop to use the photos (example: web uploading from online photo site)
If your application supports drag and drop, you can drag the photo from an open iPhoto Library window into your application.
For email you can also use the email icon within iPhoto to open a message with the highlighted photo attached.
You can also use spotlight to find images in an Album...
This is what I have done using Spotlight to find my images that are in iPhoto albums without opening iPhoto..
In iPhoto, select the album, then select all, go to Photos/batch change.
Change the comments to text. In the text field I put the name of the Album.
    Do this for each album.
    Close iPhoto.
Open Spotlight and put in the name of the Album ( you have to remember the names of the albums or have then written down)
In the spotlight search results. click on "show all"
Under "Images" click on the "xx more" to show all the images in the album.
Make sure you have it in icon view, the icon view box is the last one on the blue images line.
Now you can control click on the image to "reveal in finder", open in iPhoto or Mail, etc.
I am not sure if this is going to make you happy and it is a little more work, but you can find images in albums and even view them in a slideshow (by clicking the play arrow at the end of the Images highlighted blue line) using Spotlight, all without opening iPhoto.
One important thing to know is you can set up a graphic program to be an external editor (when you double click an image in the library} such as PhotoShop or PS Elements. You set up that within iPhoto Preferences. Just make sure you save the image flattened and with the same name. The edits will then be relected in iPhoto when you hit "save".
I have just found this useful piece of info at Macoshints.com
"Since Apple developed its "digital hub", with iLife and now iWork, I have wanted to have a system-wide panel that would let me choose pictures from my iPhoto library without having to open the application.
For example, if I want to add a picture to a TextEdit RTFD document, I had to launch iPhoto, chose the picture, and drag it to the document. Waiting for iPhoto to launch can be long if you have a lot of photos.
But there is a way to get around this, using an Automator action.
    1. Open Automator, and click iPhoto.
    2. From the list of actions, select Ask for Photos, and drag it to the right-hand pane.
    3. Save this as a plug-in, and select Script Menu (the script menu that displays in the menu bar) so it is accessible anywhere. (If this menu is not visible, launch the AppleScript Utility in /Applications/Applescript, and check 'Show Script Menu in menu bar.')
Next time you need a picture from your iPhoto library, select this action from the AppleScript menu, and you'll have a media browser that lets you do so without opening iPhoto. "

  • Library File Structure Problem

I have 3 partitions setup on my computer, one running OSX, one for WinXP and another FAT32 partition I use to store data which is used by both operating systems. I recently copied my music library to this partition and set iTunes to use this partition (and subsequent sub-folder) as the primary location for my music library. While I am now able to enjoy my music library in OSX and WinXP I encountered a few problems.
1)The file structure for itunes with album art, separate folders for music, film, podcasts etc... did not transfer from it's original location in "My Documents\My Music" to the new location. As a result, whenever I download anything like a podcast or video it gets placed in the music section in iTunes which makes organizing and effectively browsing my library difficult. I am tempted to simply copy the original files to my new partition and then manually reorganize it. However, I'm worried it will have no effect on itunes and new downloads will still get misfiled regardless of file type or worse, I might render the library completely unplayable.
    2) While most of my music is accessible to both Windows and OSX, occasionally I go to play a song in OSX and recieve an error message saying that the file cannot be located. If I manually search for the file it has no problem playing it. However, once I switch back to windows I encounter the same problem there. If I don't locate the file in OSX, it plays perfectly in WinXP. I have not switched the location of the file or any other related directories. Presently, a number of my songs remain unplayable in OSX as to not disrupt Window's ability to access all of my music.
Any assistance in ironing out these kinks would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
