File Upload then save to OS (Unix)

I have created a file upload app using the How-To. It works great. Instead of moving the file to a custom table I would like to save the file on to the OS. Any good code samples for this type of thing.

    Hi Irosenth,
In 'License & Compliance Services' document provided by Adobe, they specified as
For server use, installing desktop licenses in a server based environment is generally allowed,
so long as the total number of users, (not concurrent users) who can access the software
deployed on that server, do not exceed the Permitted Number of licenses. Usage is defined as
individuals or entities who “use, download, copy OR otherwise benefit” from the
functionality of the Software installed on the server.

  • Unable to make changes to a jpg file and then save it without the program trying to change it to a psd [was: What a Pile of Crap!]

Can't even make changes to a jpg file and then save it without the program trying to change it to a psd!!!!!  No wonder nobody like Adobe anymore.

Do you mean that PSD comes as a default option or that JPEG is not available no matter what?
Did you add a layer?  Did you change the bit depth?  Did you add transparency?   The JPEG format does not support layers, nor 16-bit images, nor transparency.

    Hi Ciaran19,
Are you sending files from the Adobe Send interface, Adobe Reader, or the Outlook plug-in?
Have you checked to see whether the files that you're sending appear in the Recent Files/Sent Files list when you're logged on to https://cloud.acrobat.com? (It could be that they're uploading, but not being sent.)
It would also be worthwhile to send the files in smaller batches, to see whether a particular file or files is problematic, and causing the error.
Please let us know how it goes. If you're still having trouble, please let us know where you're sending from, and whether you're able to send the files in smaller batches. It would also be helpful to know the exact error message that you're receiving.
    Best,

  • Java.io.IOException in file upload: WLS 5.1 on Unix

    Hi,
I'm running into some problems with Weblogic Server on Unix, while trying to do
a servlet-based file upload. I'm trying to upload a file to the server file
system through a file upload servlet running inside Weblogic Server 5.1, and I
get an exception when I try to create a file on the Unix server filesystem:
    java.io.IOException: Not owner
         at java.io.UnixFileSystem.createFileExclusively(Native Method)
         at java.io.File.createNewFile(File.java:692)
         at com.cysive.filemanagement.UploadFile.save(UploadFile.java:84)
I tried changing the upload location to various places, like directly in the
docroot (myserver/public_html), in my home directory, etc. I am not sure which
owner Weblogic is looking for, because the process is owned by whoever starts
the WL server. And the strange thing is, I am able to create new directories on
the file system, just not files.
When I run the exact code on WinNT, everything works fine... I am able to create
files and directories and the upload goes through smoothly.
I'm thinking there is something I need to be setting in the weblogic.properties
file on Unix by way of permissions/privileges that is not required on WinNT, but
was not able to find anything in the documentation.
    Could anyone help, please?
    Thanks.
    Hrishi

Check what user/group you are running your weblogic server.(check out the user who starts as well as UID/user/group in weblogic.properties file if you have set them).
check out whether that user/group has necessary permission on unix m/c

  • Why do the characters in the field of a form disappear when I attach the form to another PDF file and then save the resulting pdf?

This just started happening and it does not happen every time I do this action.  I occasionally get the following message "An incorrect structure was found in the PDF file" and that seems to be part of the issue. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

I found out that if I waited about 15 minutes the PDF file became normal. Thank heavens! I've now sent out my newsletter for my Quilt Club to our 90 e-mail subscribers and all of them I have heard from have gotten it the way I had written it. It must just have been a quirk that happened, but I sure am glad it fixed itself. I only have 5 more newsletters to write and then I am done. Thank Heaven. Thank you for trying to help. I was about to become even more crazed than I get when I have to publish the newsletter. I do it once a month and I never would have volunteered for the 2 year job if I had know how much work it is. My husband walks gently when he knows I am trying to put the newsletter together. I'm not usually crabby, but this has made me a nut case once a month. It's a good thing we've been married for 37 years, so he knows that it is only the "newsletter editor nutty lady" that is getting mad at everything and everyone, including him! Thanks for trying to help. You were the only one that answered. JO

    File: S95.jpg
Save File to: C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Desktop\webproject\webproject\build\web\catalog-img\S95.jpgWhy would the file not be saved ?

You indeed need to write the UploadedFile#getInputStream() to the given path. Wrap the given path in the File object with FileOutputStream (if necessary buffer it with BufferedOutputStream), then you can write the uploaded file to it.
Consult the java.io tutorials here for more information and code samples. Also consult the 'User Guide' at the homepage of Apache Commons FileUpload for code samples.

  • How to upload a PDF online, fill it, then save?

    Hi,
I'm trying to figure out on how to upload a PDF to our own server (thru an FTP site) so users can fill it in, then save it to their computer's hard drive/desktop. i searched all over and cannot find a solution. Can someone please help?
Thank you in-advance for any help you can provide.
    Current system:
    MacBook Pro
    Mac OS X 10.6
    Acrobat Pro 9.4.3
    Acrobat Reader 10.1

You need to open the PDF and use File>Save as>Reader extended PDF.
Keep in mind that there are strict limitations as to how many times you can collect data from an enabled PDF. It's basically a limit of 500 times. You'll want to read and understand section 15 of the end user license agreement before proceeding.

  • When I open a pdf file in Firefox and then save, how do I set the initial directory to be closer to what I want instead of a temp directory?

When I choose to save a pdf file directly when using Firefox, it works perfectly. However, when I choose to open a pdf instead and then save it, the save directly displayed will always be a temp directory and it would be more convenient for me to choose a directory closer to where most of my files normally go. How do I change this?

    Hi,
I partially answered your question in another posting but I feel that you´re in the wrong forum for your problem. This is for BSP development and you talk about CRM.

  • How can I open a tdms file and replace a subset of data then save that change without re-writing the entire file again?

    Hi all,
Is it possible to open a tdms file and make a small change an an array subset then save the file without having to save the whole dataset as a different file with a new name? That is to say, is there something similar to "Save" in MS Word rather than "Save As"... I only want to change a 1D array of four data points in a file of 7M data points.
I am not sure if this make sense? Any help is apreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jack

You can use either one, but for your application, I would use the synchronous.  It requires far less setup.  When you open the file, set both enable asynchronous and disable buffering to FALSE to enable you to use synchronous with arbitrary data sizes.
    Attached code is LabVIEW 2011.

16bit? Pixels extending beyond the canvas? (from a crop with delete unused pixels turn off).  Have you previously been saving PSD files?
IME you sometimes have to tell Photoshop that the first save of a session is JPG, and it remembers from there on.  The way to 'tell' Photoshop that JPG, or PDF, or PNG etc are now your preferred format is to Ctrl (Cmd) click on that format in the Save As drop down list.  So long as the file does not have parameters that your chosen format does not support, then this should work for you.
[EDIT]  Just noticed that you did include 'Crop' in the subject line.  Do you have 'Delete cropped pixels' checked?

Is it a USB hard drive?  USB hard drives have the problem of not giving full speed if they are hooked up on the same bus as keyboards and mice.  Double check your profiler to make sure that is not a problem.  If it is Firewire, make sure there aren't other firewire devices in use at the same time.  I recommend not only keeping a Time Machine backup, but also a clone, and if you do use Time Machine, to make sure the Time Machine drive or partition is at least twice the size of the original drive.
