FileReader does not return the correct byte value of the characters

I have some text in a very old persian code page and
all I have from this code page is numerical table of
the characters(like ASCII table).
With a HashMap, the equivalent Unicode characters are
mapped to the numerical values. With using
FileInputStream and its read() method, it converts
corretly;
but by using the FileReader (following code snippet),
just a few characters cannot be read correctly so it
cannot be mapped correctly either.(I tryed several
encodings too)

I need to work with strings for conversion; so is ther
any solution for it?Use FileInputStream to read the data into bytes, then use your mapping to convert bytes to characters. Then create a string representation by appending the characters to a StringBuffer. You can't use FileReader because readers convert bytes to characters using a character encoding, which you don't have.

Well, it is a real IP address. It's just not the one you want.
Try this: use java.net.NetworkInterface.getNetworkInterfaces() to get a bunch of NetworkInterface objects. Then for each one you call getInetAddresses.
You're working your way through enumerations of enumerations, but you can apply some heuristics to find the address you want.

SP_SPACEUSED from MSSQL does not return two correct resultsets..

When running this query in MSSQL:
MSSQLStatement = this.Conexao.createStatement();
MSSQLStatement.execute("EXEC SP_SPACEUSED;")
It's always returning false, but only for this certain procedure....
I tried another queries like "SELECT * FROM SYSDATABASES; SELECT * FROM SYSDATABASES;" to simulate two resultsets and it worked fine...

You are welcome. The same occurs with Sybase ASE as well given MS SQL Server has its roots from Sybase SQL Server 4.2.
You will see similar issues with the TSQL print command as well. If you download a copy of Sybase jConnect, there is a sample2 directory which contains some trivial samples i wrote back in 1997 while working on the first release of jConnect. Many of the samples, such as the PrintExample.java should be relevant still to MS SQLServer i believe as i think they still handle the print command the same way as ASE.

Its very difficult to analyse the query without any data being provided. So I suggest you to debug the above query by keeping basic join condition intact and comment out all the other where conditions for initial run.

Gpib, wait does not return after timeout

I use this code line:
gpibDevice.Wait(GpibStatusFlags.DeviceServiceRequest | GpibStatusFlags.Timeout);
I want to wait for a Service Request or a Timeout.
The IOTimeout is set to 1s, but the Wait function does not return after 1s.
What is the problem? Do I have to set any other timeout?

MSCS failover to B node does not return to normal

Good morning!
We click "move group" on MSCS A node, and the resources go to the B node
successfully.
However, above resources does not return back to A node after the specified
time in the cluster configuration.
There is no error log.
Could you please tell how to fix this?

Your question is not clear, are you saying the values in the messageChoiceBean is not displayed properly. As far as I can see from the definition the poplist picks the values from a lookup(Yes, No) values and has a PPR action associated with it. Did you check what this method handleNewLocationFlagChange is doing in the AM ?

LOV does not return the value (2)

PPR in general does not work correctly if invalid HTML is generated. One example of an invalid HTML is having an opening <TD> tag immediately following another opening <TD> tag.
After checking everything else, if LOV still does not return the value, test whether it's not a problem with the invalid HTML by placing the messageLovInput outside of the complicated layout nestings you may have. If it works outside of the layout nestings, look for the possible problems in the layout nestings.

Res.getPathTranslated() does not return correct URL of the page requested

The res.getPathTranslated() statement in the below code (in doFilter method) does not return the correct URL of the requested webpage.
Whenever a web page is accessed using a return statement (eg : return "nextPage"; ) inside a button's action method or a hyperlink's action method, the res.getPathTranslated() returns the URL of the current webpage instead of returning the URL of the webpage that is actually requested.
For example if there is a button on the page http://localhost:29080/MyJaas/faces/firstPage.jsp
And the button_action() is as follows

return "nextPage";
The res.getPageTranslaged() returns "http://localhost:29080/MyJaas/faces/firstPage.jsp" instead of "http://localhost:29080/MyJaas/faces/nextPage.jsp"
However, if the webpage is requested by populating the URL property of the hyerlink in creator IDE, the res.getPathTranslated() returns the correct (requested) web page.
How to make res.getPathTranslagted() return the correct URL when the webpage is accessed from hyperlink's / button's action method?

HttpServletRequest.getHeaders("accept") does not return the correct results

I noticed that when I use the invoke the HttpServletRequest.getHeaders("accept") method I do not get the result that I am expecting.
For instance, if the browser passes over the following accept header:
"text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,/;q=0.8"
When i invoke the getHeaders() method, instead of it returning me a single value with the string that was passed over, it returns me 4 separate entries. It looks like Iplanet is parsing the header value and breaking it up by commas.
When I run the same code in TomCat, it returns the single comma separated string as I would expect.
Is there anything to keep Iplanet from breaking apart the header value?

A DB function has a call to the Control Center transformation WB_RT_GET_JOB_METRICS to extract and preserve the metadata of number of records inserted/updated/deleted in a DB table.

The control center transformation WB_RT_GET_JOB_METRICS does not return any values when used under the Post-Mapping Process(mapped to the DB function describe above) in a Map.
The input parameter ;Audit Id' to the Map is passed from a calling Process Flow. The following query is used to retrieve the Audit Id of the Map.,

3. Since the option 1 did not return any value, tried other option of calling/executing a transformation(call the the DB function mentioned earlier) after the Map activity is successful in a ProcessFlow. Here, the transformation does not seem to be executing, any tips of correcting this issue.

In a process flow, passed the pseudo variable to a transformation to run the WB_RT_GET_JOB_METRICS after the map execution. I am not sure if this is the best solution, but it worked for me.
Still trying to figure how to use the pre-defined transformation when working on expression.

Fsbtodb macro in ufs_fs.h does not return correct disk address

I'm using fsbtodb to translate the file inode block address to file system block address.
What I've observed is fsbtodb returns corretct disk address for all the files if file system size < 1 TB.
But, if ufs file system size is greater than 1 TB then for some files, the macro fsbtodb does not return correct value, it returns -ve value
Is this a known issue and is this been resolved in new versions

Solaris 9 was first shipped in May 2002 and though it was the first release of that OS to have extended file attributes I do not think the developers had intended the OS to use raw filesystems larger than 1TB natively.
That operating environment is just too old to do exactly as you hope.
Perhaps others can describe this at greater length.

The weird thing is, it worked before. I encoded all the videos previously and had them all listed and didn't encounter this problem, but I noticed I'd forgotten to decomb/detelecine the videos so I deleted everything and re-encoded it all. AFter filling the tags out and setting poster frames again I was thinking of making life easier by just pasting the same artwork for every episode, so I did, but didn't like the results so I deleted it again (I selected every video, used Get Info and pasted the artwork that way).
I think it was after this that the problem started to occur. In any case I've been through every episode and made sure the name, series, episode and episode id fields are all filled in with incremental values and they are. I even made sure the Sort Name field was filled in on every video. But this didn't work either.
So, thinking another restart was needed I deleted every video again. Re-encoded them all, again. Set the tags for every video and poster frame again. Finished it all off nicely, checked cover flow and was highly annoyed to find it was STILL showing the same two pieces of art work for every video as shown in that image I posted.
Ultimately, I wouldn't care so much that cover flow is screwing up like this as I always intended to sort by program anyway so it would only ever display one piece of artwork for an entire series of videos, however where-as when it was working it picked the artwork for the first episode of a series to display, its instead picking one of the latter episodes. I can't seem to find any way of choosing what artwork I want displayed.

/In JDev I've created an EO - Tab1, a VO - Tab1View and an AppModule.
In the EO Tab1 I have checked "Refresh After Insert" and "Refresh After Update" for Id and Edited_By attributes. I made the latter two attribures as "Never" updatable.
Then I test the AppModule with a JDev Tester (I use a connection which connects as an owner of the 3 objects above).
Then I insert a new row and enter a value into the Value field in the Tester. When I press Commit button everything works great - Id and Edited_By attributes get populated with values generated by the trigger.
But when I try to update the Value field and press Commit the Edited_By field does not retreives new value that was generated by the trigger.
Why does this happens?

I tried to set Refresh option on both, Value and Edited_At, fields but unsuccessfully.
Then I tried to do the following in SQL Plus:
SQL> insert into tab1(value) values('ddd');
1 row created.
SQL> commit;
Commit complete.
SQL>
SQL> select * from tab1;
        ID EDITED_AT           VALUE
         1 27.03.2008 17:01:24 ddd
SQL>
SQL> declare dt date; val varchar2(64);
2 begin update tab1 set value = 'ddd' where id = 1 returning edited_at, value into dt, val;
3 dbms_output.put_line('txt = ' || dt || ', ' || val);
4 end;
5 /
txt = 27.03.2008 17:01:24, ddd
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
SQL>
SQL> select * from tab1;
        ID EDITED_AT           VALUE
         1 27.03.2008 17:02:12 ddd
SQL>As it can be seen Returning clause of an Update statement does not return a new date, i.e. 27.03.2008 17:02:12, that was updated by the trigger, it returns an old one - 27.03.2008 17:01:24.
Frank, maybe the issue is in the Oracle DB?
