Files changing extension to .XML automatically.

Hi, I have recently purchased a macbook for the first time. While transferring the pictures from my windows laptop (JPEG and CR2), the file extension automatically changes to XML. So for example, ABCD.JPEG becomes ABCD.JPEG.XML.
Can somebody please help me with this as I can't change the extension manually for each and every file (more than 1000 pictures )? Thanks in advance.

Just Googled this:
https://www.google.com/webhp?rls=ig#safe=off&rls=ig&q=mac+automatically+change+e xtension+of+multiple+files&spell=1
Looks as if there are a multitude of ways to automate changing extensions.

  • Can I create a folder that will automatically update files changed on a USB stick?

    Hi,
    I am just wondering if there is a way to do this.
    here's the situation, and what I'd like to happen.
    I have a folder on a USB thumb drive with files in
    A file within the set of folders is changed (on, for example, a college computer)
    When I connect my USB to my Mac, the file that was changed on the college computer, then replaces the same file on my Mac so they're both the same version.
    Basically, a syncronised folder so that all of my work that is changed on my USB will then be changed on my Mac automatically so that if I lose my keys and USB, I still have all of my work.
    Maybe there's an AppleScript that would work?
    Thank you in advance!
    Sam

    You should discuss with your college the licensing there.  If they have any Macs, it is essential they have this software in anycase.

  • Changes in the xml file AFTER submitting to store

    hi,
    I recently added a Podcast for BMWGroup.com to the iTunes store, which hasn't been released yet.
    What I want to know is, whether changes in the xml file, that i made AFTER submitting it will be taken over when the feeds are going to be released.
    For example a different categorie or image..
    and if not? how can i change categorie or image later? does it update from the xml?
    does anyone know?
    thx,
    best regards,
    oliver
    thx,

    Oliver:
    The simple answer is yes. Any changes you make to your RSS feed file (xml file) will eventually be updated by ITMS. Usually ITMS updates feed changes within 24 hours. However, the most recent changes I made in my feed files took almost 8 days before ITMS refreshed my listing.
    One issue is clear. If you make changes to your image file, there is a high probability that when ITMS updates your database record, your listing in ITMS will show the broken link image for awhile. I've changed my image file twice, and each time, my ITMS listing showed the broken link image. Eventually the new image shows up, but it does take a long time for this day and age.
    Good luck!

  • Changing an existing XML-File

    Hello everybody,
    is there any way to change an existing xml file (adding an xml element, for example), without copy the hole file?
    I've found kxml2 which can parse the xml files or build new xml files, but it doesn't support changing...
    Thank you
    Micha

    Pradeep thank you for your response. it was helpful. However, I also found the responses to both my questions.
    i. The null pointer exception was due to using a complex query I was using in the LOV query. I tried a simple query and that worked fine.
    ii. For modifying the user defined attributes one can consult the following forum post:
    OIM 11g - Change UDF Field Type form String to LOV

  • XML file too large or XML element too large

    I am attempting to import an xml file into the repository and have it shred into the object-relational tables. I registered a schema and it created object-relational xml_tables, triggers, and types. The full xml file is > 80MB. XDB created all the fields as VARCHAR2(4000).

    Vendor code 30951Error at Line:18I would guess that some of the fields have max lengths > 4000. I plan to annotate the schema with SQLType="CLOB", but need to know which fields to change. I was able to copy the xml file and reduce that xml file to one record, which imported into the tables. My plan was to write a view over the bfile to get the lengths of certain fields, annotate the .xsd with CLOBS where needed, and then import again. In order to do that, I have a 1 record file imported into a table and as a bfile.
    Here is my code selecting length from a generated object-relational table of only one record.
    CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW pharma.drugs_vw AS
    SELECT d.*

  • CS4: "Save as" must manually change extension

    I have 3 computers with CS4 Photoshop and xp. I fixed the problem where I could only save a file in the format it was opened in. But now when I try to "save as" a different format I must manually enter the new extension or else it saves as the original format. Ex:
    Open a psd file
    "save as", click on jpg
    File name does not change - extension remains psd
    If I leave the extension unchanged it saves as a psd - Even though jpg is selected in the drop down list
    If I change the extension to jpg manually it saves as a jpg (or tif, or png, etc)
    My other computer automatically changes the extension. Any ideas how to fix this??Thanks!
    cs4, xp,

    My other computer automatically changes the extension.
    What format/extension does this other computer decide is the correct one? Now, PS will attempt to do a Save_As to the original, or to the last Save_As, but there are tons of reasons why that might not work. Say you have done a Save_As JPEG just before, but now have a Layered file, or 16-bit, or CMYK, or maybe Alpha Channels, and now things are different. If you have Layers, then PSD is probably going to be the "chosen" format/extension. If you did a bunch of Save/Save_As before, and have no Layers, Alpha Channels, are in 8-bit RGB, you should get JPEG. Otherwise, PSD, or Layered TIFF might be the selected option.
    Good luck,

  • Dynamically update swf file in sharepoint using xml data

    Hi,
    I need some help/enlightenment on how to auto-update the swf file in sharepoint using xml data.
    I am encountering an error "Cannot access External Data" and pointing to adobe's Cross-domain policy file extension.
    My questions is:
    1. Where should the cross-domain file be copied? In the sharepoint webserver's root folder?
    Right now, we generate the swf file from xcelsius and manually upload them in the sharepoint. However, we wish to automate the data content of this file.
    Thanks for the help.

    GetFileByServerRelativeUrl.... since you're getting a FILE, you'll need a URL to a FILE (not just a library)... by SERVER relative URL, so you'll need to include the site collection path and such, not just the subsite relative URL.
    Now working fine....
    url: appweburl + "/_api/SP.AppContextSite(@target)/web/ GetFileByServerRelativeUrl('/sites/apps/Shared Documents/test.txt')/CheckOut()?@target='" + hostweburl + "'",

  • File name extension cut off in thumbnail view

    How can you see the file name extension when your looking at a photo in the browser?
    So if I have a photo named DSC1122.jpg all I can see in the browser is DSC1122 and the extension is missing?
    Makes it difficult when you have photo with 2 formats like .jpg and .nef to tell them apart. Is there a feature in aperture so you can see the extensions in a file mane?

    Hi Antoniohavoc,
    Welcome to the user-supported Aperture discussion group.
    You don't have any system information filled in for your system profile and you didn't mention what version of Aperture you are using. I'll assume you're using Aperture 3.
    You aren't actually seeing the file name. You are seeing the version name, which is initialized to the first part of the file name when you import photos. (You can change the version name to anything you want, and it doesn't rename your file.)
    You have two options (not mutually exclusive, either) to see the file name. One, you can turn on tooltips and see metadata by hovering your pointer over a picture. The metadata in the tooltip will include the filename. "View | Metadata Display | Image Tooltips". You can also toggle the setting at any time with the "T" key.
    Two, you can also change the metadata that is displayed. There are several different displays for Aperture, Browser, viewer, list, etc. You can change what you see in the "View |Metadata Display |Customize..." dialog. Pay attention to the selection in the upper left that indicates which display you are changing. For your purpose, you probably want to replace "Version" with "File name" in one (or more) particular display.

  • Dynamic file name in Export: XML

    I am generating a SQL report on a page that can be exported as XML File and It seems to me the file name come from the name of the report region by default and I 'd like use a value of an item as the XML file name.
    I tried to put &P15_ITEM. as name of report region, then the XML file name I got is: p15_item[1]..xml. But if I change the Report Template back to Standard Template, the region name displays the value of P15_ITEM.
    So, my question is, Is ther anyway we could reset the file name of the XML file, such as the value of an item, In Version 1.6.?
    Million Thanks,

    Thank you Raj for the direction
    The way to do it is :
    1. In ID, advanced tab, put a check on the adapter-specific message attributes - file name.
    2. Put a "*" on the file name scheme
    3. In IR, create a UDF to set up target file name :
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container
    .getTransformationParameters()
    .get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
    // set up file name for receiver adapter
    String SourceFileName = conf.get(key);
    conf.put(key, TargetFileName);
    return " ";
    4. Map the above UDF to the header level of the target structure.

  • How can I get a file path element in XML to work in AI javascript?

    Hi all - this is my first post. I'm pretty familiar with javascript, but I'm new to the Adobe scripting environment.
    Our client wants Illustrator at startup to load a certain pattern swatch. It works fine when I hard code the pattern file path, but it needs to be user configurable, so I put the file path info in an XML file to be read in at startup. The XML file is read in and the elements are extracted into varibles. When I concatenate the variables to create the file path string and try to open the pattern file, it says file not found.
    Here is my source code:
    var fileObj = new File("aiConfig.xml");
    fileObj.open("r:");
    var xmlString = new XML(fileObj.read());
    var driveLetter = xmlString.fullPathName.driveLetter.text();
    var filePath = xmlString.fullPathName.filePath.text();
    var fileName = xmlString.fullPathName.fileName.text();
    var fullFilePath = driveLetter + filePath + fileName;
    var styled_ai = app.open(new File(fullFilePath));
    app.activeDocument = styled_ai;
    Here is aiConfig.xml:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252" ?>
    <aiConfig>
      <fullPathName>
         <driveLetter>C:</driveLetter>
         <filePath>/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator CS4/Presets/en_US/Swatches/Patterns/Decorative/</filePath>
         <fileName>Decorative_Modern.ai</fileName>
        </fullPathName>
    </aiConfig>
    Any help would be greatly appreciated - this is driving me a little crazy.
    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hi Tomchag,
    Your script works fine on MAC OS X & illustrator CS4.
    i have change only pathway to aiConfig.xml like this:
    var fileObj = new File("/Volumes/LaCie/aiConfig.xml"); //<- path of my external HDD should be D:/ on windows
    and the contents in aiConfig.xml to :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252" ?>
    <aiConfig>
      <fullPathName>
         <driveLetter></driveLetter>
         <filePath>/Applications/Adobe Illustrator CS4/Presets.localized/fr_FR/Nuancier/</filePath>
         <fileName>VisiBone2.ai</fileName>
        </fullPathName>
    </aiConfig>
    So.. i notice twice thing:
    1) complete file and path for aiConfig.xml
    2) i didn't use drive letter (but it's specific to windows)
    I hope this post can help you

  • Unable to install the Novell File Upload extension to upload directories

    Using Firefox 9.0.1 on Windows 7 I'm unable to install the Novell File
    Upload extension to upload directories.
    As per the pop-up help page, I've added
    extensions.install.requireBuiltInCerts in about:config and set it to
    false but that has made no difference, even after restarting the browser.
    I've also tried this with Firefox 9.0.1 on Mac OS X Snow Leopard
    (10.6.8) - unsupported I know - with the same result.
    Do I really have to use Internet Explorer? Urgh!

    So, with Firefox, first hitting http://<server>/zenworks/ after install
    displays
    --begin--
    This Connection is Untrusted
    You have asked Firefox to connect securely to <server>, but we can't
    confirm that your connection is secure.
    Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted
    identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However,
    this site's identity can't be verified.
    What Should I Do?
    If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could
    mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't
    continue.
    [Get me out of here!]
    > Technical Details
    > I Understand the Risks
    ---end---
    so I click "I Understand the Risks", [Add Exception...] then [Confirm
    Security Exception] at which point http://<server>/zenworks/ correctly
    displays and I can log in. Checking Tools | Options | [View
    Certificates] shows an (Unknown) server certificate for <server> with a
    Permanent lifetime.
    Is that what you mean by trusting the ZCM CA?
    Perhaps this is why Firefox 9.x is not a supported browser though I
    thought that was more to do with Mozilla treating major version numbers
    as minor ones? Gee if only Firefox hadn't automatically upgraded itself
    from 8.x to 9.x!
    Thanks.
